Futuristic The Codes of Humanity

Hearing his words in disbelief. Elle stops attempting to break through the barrier and pulls her sword out. She sees him fading away before turning away, feeling slightly annoyed. All this time it was just to stall. Sighing a bit, she kept a close watch around her surroundings. "He certainly got what he wished for." Elle fell speechless, as if it didn't matter for she was the silent type anyway.

Error decided to stop playing around. He aimed at the Shadowlord and open fired. Then when he ran out he used his umbrella as a sword and went in for close combat.

"I wouldn't know about safer so much as it being a hell of a lot harder to get to you when they have to get through me," he chuckled.

"In any case, this guy is being all weird. And wors-" He side-stepped to the left of the beam and sighed. "And worst of all, he's doing one of those monologue things!" In any case, it seemed like that had been the point anyway, make noise, draw attention .... send even more Shades at them than the last time.

"So, good news is .. I think the weird guy is gone." He looked down at Minerva. "Bad news is, I may actually have to use my scythe, which means your new shoes might not be the only thing that gets ruined. But we'll wait and see, yeah?"

She noticed that Error went for the same tactic she did before hearing Extant talking to Minnie again. The sounds of the third wave of shades reached her ears. Elle observed the amount for this round. It seemed as though this wave was bigger than the last two. Hmm.. It wasn't over just yet. The battle must continue. Getting up the strength to prepare as the sword charges up once more. Elle immediately runs toward the army. Her sword splitting in two again. Each one levitating beside her as a big electrical field connected the two in front of her.

Minerva nodded and adjusted herself.

"I don't like sitting here being useless, I need another gun..."

She looked around at the corpses sadly and found no shortage of guns.

Her eyes scanned the carnage.

"Damn," she smiled to herself "That is a nice looking gun." She looked up at Extant. "Mind passing me that SMG?" She smiled and pointed to the gun, lying nicely a few feet away.

He had one of the shadow tendrils pick it up and bring it over. At which point it just was just dropped gently into her lap.

"If you need any more, just ask." He responded. "Definitely wouldn't want to deny you your fun."

Coming into a nice range, Elle stopped in her tracks and began slicing again. Separating the swords again; she started using her beams. Blasting a couple at a time. She had killed more this time than before yet still more shades were coming. Seeing the shades surrounding her as the others continued dispersing toward the other clones. Elle's swords spun around her horizontally, slicing through those close to her. The swords spin faster, creating electric slashes in all directions, killing more. She finally had a clear area to escape for a small moment.

Demi stood back, She would only be a healer this time. She was good for it, Her eyes wandered towards Bether curious on the person above. "Hm.."

Fureha twirled around happily, Her twisted gaze falling upon the codes that had managed to survive.

"Not enough of them died" Red lips turned to a frown as she watched them all, Bether was toying with people again, but in her opinion He was not doing a well enough job. Where is the torture? The slashing? The screaming? Thought entangled her mind as she went through her fantasies of the day.

Picking up Trixx she giggled, Eyes darting through the codes, "Shura, Demi, Elle, Error, Damien.. There should be more around.." She decided to wait for Sturs and Bether to return. "So boring, we are gunna have a talk." Turning away, Fureha moved back through the portal taking one more look back before crunching the poisoned candy between her teeth the sizzling giving her a satisfied feeling.

Shura looked up at the Shade of Oblivion with a frown and after hearing Extant argue over it being a paradox he sighed. "Stop arguing with a Shadowlord over his powers. Not the time." Shura swung upward, a blade of Nuclear energy extending from his tombstone at his wrist. It crackled violently, radiation coursing around it. The blade grew as he slashed and he quickly sliced through the Oblivion Shades arm.

He watches from his house on his tv, smirking as he ate cereal. "Gotta admire reporters, they sure know how to get into some shit." He see's a car in the bottom left corner of his screen and shrugs. "Ah what the hell it'll be like a video game." His eyes glow as the car begins to lift of the ground, he notices the shadow lord erect a barrier. "How cute." He tosses the car at the shadow lord and continues to eat cereal on his couch. "There. My little contribution."

Minerva smiles as the gun dropped into her lap, and lifted it, checking the ammunition.

She may not have the best aim, but she had read up on every type of gun the HDF used.

She aimed at a shade and fired a few test shots. Satisfied that this gun would be adequate, she looked for more shades.

A car flies up towards the Shadowlord from somewhere behind.

Minnie glanced around. Everyone was fighting, and no one was near the car.

"Who threw that?" She asked.

With Shura cooperating, Demi figured it would be enough. She wasnt too concerened. Yes people were bound to get hurt, but if they were to go all out on a group that was only toying with them, something would end up worse. They wanted to toy with them for a reason.

"Ill guess an idiot threw it, Your not hurt are you?"

Her eyes wandered over towards the girl, tilting her head a bit as she watched the surroundings.

"No, I'm fine," she said, looking up at the guy.

"That's a Shadowlord," she called to the others.

"We have files on them, we've tried to document what we could..." She knit her eyebrows together into a frown.

"I can't remember much of the files," she groaned.

The Shade of oblivion came at him. Dodging, Shura ran up its remaining arm as his massive nuclear sword retracted, barely passing his knuckles. Without batting an eye he drove his fist into its skull and the Nuclear blade extended again, ending the Shades life. He wasn't too sure how the Shadowlord's powers worked, but he assumed that once it was given life, that "nothingness" became "something." Turning to the remaining Shade he figured he could leave them to the others.

He finishes his cereal and watches the battle intently. "Man this is crazy." He uses his powers to picks up some heavy rocks at the scene, tossing them at random shades. "Fifty points if i hit them." He lays back on his couch watching some more. "A normal person would be eating popcorn right now."

Sturs yawns as he sits a the table. With Bether off leading an army he felt the humans killed today would be at a delightful high. Now he only wondered where the rest of his comrades were.

"Doesn't matter," Extant spoke up.

"They're kind of just throwing things at us hoping it'll stick." He chuckled. "Still, seem to remember you had a laptop or somethin' right? Did you want me to go and pull it out of the van?" At this point it was kind of just mop up work anyway. Well .. not really; but it wasn't exactly like he or Minerva were exactly pressed up against the wall. Anything that got too close was either getting shot up by Minnie or ripped apart by the shadows.

Minerva looked around.

"It looks like things are under control," She said.

She shrugged, "I admit, I thought it would be harder, I guess when you have superpowers, it's a bit easier,"

Shura begins to walk back towards the van now that the Oblivion Shade was dead. He was hoping this could all be over soon. He dearly wanted to start making a new life; search for his family or something.

"Superpowers?"

He blinked.

"I don't even have functioning wings. At best I've got a horrible mutation." He joked.

Sturs, who did not know of the Codes fighting against the Shade gave Bether an odd look. "Why would you need to send another wave? You met some sort of resistance?" He did not know of a force that could truly handle the Shade aside from Codes. Had they appeared?

"Sure you do. I mean you got me to carry you around while you shot at things. That's kind of like a super power," he'd chuckle.

"You also got me to carry you while I jumped out a window. So there."

She joined in laughing, "That's you being super, and me tagging along," she said.

Her gun was finally empty, but the Shades seemed to be dwindling anyway.
