Fantasy The City Of Wolves

Edgar awoke fairly early he had always loved the early morning it was when the day was just born and all you could here as the echo of nature, he had chose this day to do a bit of hiking slash parkour. He had returned from he morning of exercise, walking through the city to see if he was needed or could help anyone a rather loud scream hit his ears he wasn't exactly sure of it but the voice reflected Kendall's voice he sprinted and maneuvered through the crowd. He reached her home and found a open door he rushed in to find Kendall on the ground she seamed wounded "What happened?" he said to Kelsey in a calm voice but his expression on his face was worried.

Edgar gulp and relaxed his face "No signs of were the pain has emerged? Should we call for the elders?" he wasn't really sure of what to do he would believe that the royal guard should be here to help but that wasn't really important as of now.

Kelsey lifted his head and nodded. Fetch the elders quickly and get Andrew. Getting up he stretched and trotted over to the closet. Quickly transforming he pulled out a one of Kendall's dress shirts and some shorts. Pulling them on he hurried back to Kendall's side and curled up against her side like he had always done when they were children. Grasping her hand he held it tightly. "Hold on Kendall. Hold on."

Edgar nodded his head and ran out the door and hurried into the council they were already alarmed by the scream but wasn't sure of what was going on "Something is going on with Kendall she is in pain we are unaware of it's origin hopefully you can find the solution she is at her home" he remembered that he had to find Andrew on Kelsey's order. He had remembered seeing him in the forest he once again hurried through the city and into the forest gladly he was no to far gone he called out his name once he was in sight "Andrew something wrong with Kendall come on" he began to return back knowing that Andrew would follow

Kelsey looked up from Kendall alarmed as the room was flooded with Elders. They began talking all at once coming closer. One grasped Kendall's hand and he growled at them in warning. He backed away and Kelsey brought Kendall into his arms glaring at them."Quiet you old fools. How can anyone get a word in when you are talking so loud?"

The Elders looked at each other then looked at Kelsey and Kendall. One walked up to them slowly. "It looks like the bond between the Royal Guard and her is breaking..." He slowly spoke. He was confused. "Kelsey, has anything happened between the two?" Kendall grabbed the shirt Kel's wearing tightly with her free hand. Her other hand squeezed Kel's hand in hopes for comfort.

Kelsey grips Kendall's hand tightly as he answers." Yes something has happened. Andrew informed her that he will be stepping down from his role. That he was going to become one of the pack."

"When a Royal Guard steps down, the person he protects, in this case the princess, feels ten times the pain if, say a bone snapped in different places. The bond between them breaks. To find another guard for her, it would take days, weeks maybe months or even years. The best thing for her is rest and eat for a while." He looked at the other Elders. They nodded so he looked back at Kelsey. "Until we find another guard, would you look after her?"

Kelsey nodded determined." Of course. She isnt just my princess she is my friend. Anyone that tries to hurt her will meet my teeth first hand."

There I was walking through the forest, I was trying to find a good reason to return to the city. But I only felt sadness, for what I had done to Kendall. Fairly I was picking up her scent like I always do. Something must have been going on, so I quickly turned around and ran towards the city, in hopes of finding Edgar.

The Elders nodded. "Okay, we'll leave you two be. We'll look for a guard as soon as we can." They left the room quickly. Kendall laid her head on Kelsey's shoulder. The pain eased up a little but not much. "Hey Kels, remember the day we got lost together playing tag in the woods?" She smiled slightly as she spoke in a whisper tone.

"Of course I do." Kelsey snorted his mind heading into the past." We couldn't find our way home. You thought we were gonna have to live out in the wild like savages. You were so worried it was hilarious."

Edgar slowed his run to a jog as he looked back he really couldn't see Andrew but eventually he he caught up as he saw Andrew "Come on I would think a royal guard could move a little faster he jocked something a bit out of character for him. He looked to Andrew "Do you know whats wrong with Kendall?" he said, they were just at the edge of the city and the distance wasn't to far now.

"To be honest I don't. Normally when like you can't pick up a scent of someone, its because their about to morph for the first time," I said to Edgar, I was thinking, the only way to get the faster, is to morph. "Edgar, we need to morph, its the only way to get there quicker," I said as I picked up the paste. I quickly change in the middle of running.

Edgar sighed it was always weird morphing he was just glad he wasn't wearing his favorite shirt. He morphed into his wolf form and followed after Andrew. The answer finall hit Edgar could she really be morphing doesn't seem likely he thought but these things never make since.

The flames reflected in his eyes, darkness was swirling like whirlpools of evil, but there was a sense of joy in that dark cavern that served as Rowtag's home. He was hold up inside, the smoke from the fire would slide up a pipe that was in the ground above his head, the only real distinction that his home lie beneath the forest floor. "I need some air..." He spoke, his voice deep and smooth, but the remark was not really meant to go to anyone as he rose up from the wicker chair by the fire. His feet were bare, pain from the cold floor shot through his toes but it wasn't bothering him a lot, sliding a white button up onto his torso to match the black trousers he wore, before ascending the stone steps carved into the earth that led upwards and exiting through the metal hatch into the outside. Rowtag let it bang close, breathing in the col air, releasing cloud of steam that spiraled into the sky.

"My favorite part of the whole lost in the forest was our promise..." Pain gave a somewhat sharp jolt making her yelp a little and wince. Noticing the door was broke, Kendall's eyes trailed its way up to Kelsey. "That's your job." She pointed to the door with a sarcastic tone in her voice.

"Yep." Kelsey nodded proudly looking at the door." I was so impatient to get to you I rammed the door in. Admit it I'm awesome." He glanced down at her his smile softening."The promise was the my favorite part to."

"You are but it's also your job to fix it." She told him with a stubborn attitude. Without thinking, she laced their fingers together and slowly closed her eyes. "I'm getting tired and it's not even noon yet." She sighed.

As I ran in the hallways of the palace, I quickly changed back into human form, and saw Kendall's bedroom do a jar. What could have been happening here. "Kendall!" I shouted as I entered the room. Then I noticed Kelsey with her. I found a bit jealousy come over me. That wasn't like me. I shook it off, and said, "Kendall, right now you do not have a scent, that could only mean, that the pain your in is the your pain of the first morph," I smiled at her.

Kelsey snarled at Andrew. He was going to get her hopes up." Of course not you fool. She is like this because your bond with her is breaking."

Before she could say a word, a strong jolt of pain crashed into her. Kendall took both her hands and clenched her chest. She screamed out for the pain was too much for her. Sweat poured on her face.

"Kendall!" Kelsey shouted holding her tighter. Why is this happening? Shouldn't the pain be lessening? Why is it increasing? Unless...could Andrew be right? Could Kendall actually be transforming.

"Kels........Andrew...." She whispered. "I'm really tired." Tiredness could really be heard in her voice. Her eyelids were slowly lowering. The pain took a large portion of her energy. Her breathing evened out as she fell asleep.
