Fantasy The City Of Wolves

"Yeah I'm coming, princess I expect to see you there," I winked to the Kendall. She didn't like being called princess, well that is what the elders had told me.

Kendall's face turned red as her eyes narrowed at him. "Andrew......" She quickly tripped him before racing for her life back towards the city. Spotting the elders' room, Kendall skid to a stop and made her way over to the door waiting for the men. "Men.....Worse than me, a woman!" That caused her to burst out laughing.

"Your not a woman." Kelsey smirked leaning back against the window sill behind her lazily munching on an apple he had picked up on the way. He had arrived a few minutes ago and found a place to sit on the window sill that he had come through. Windows were much faster to go through then doors and more fun. "Your a brat. Plain and simple."

When I finally arrived at the Elders rooms I looked over to Kendall. "I'm going to get you back for tripping me like that, it was quite embarrassing," I growled at her. That was when one of the elders entered the room. The entire room went silent as he began to speak.

Kendall looked at the elder. Her body was stiff. Very stiff. Her eyes wasn't moving from them until she was out of the room. "Kendall, please step forward." She slowly walked up to them. When she was five away, she stopped. "Any progress?" He simply asked. Kendall knew what he was asking. "No, but I will--" She was interrupted. "No buts. I am tired of hearing what you believe and think. Princess Kendall, get your facts straight. You. Are. Not. A. Wolf. Bloodline." The elder took a deep breathe before turning to the guys. "Any recent news of the boarders?" She stood there, hands slowly turning into fists as she glared at the floor.

"We have seen many more foxes in the area, Elder. They tell us that their prince send to deliver a message. We have the message if wish for to spoken aloud," I said to the Elder with complete dignity.

The Elder looked at Andrew and nodded. "Yes, go ahead and tell us." But then Kendall had enough. "I will become a wolf!" She shouted before rushing out of the meeting. Racing through the city, she continuously mumbled sorry to everyone that she kept bumping into. Tears started to trail down her cheeks.

When I saw Kendall rush out of the meeting, it made me worry for her. She had been training to try to change into a wolf. But some of us just aren't destined to become on, I wish I had that luxury. "On the night of the Blood moon, where Wolves and Foxes, are strongest. Foxes shall invaded and kill two elder members. That is when Kendall is destined to become a wolf."

Kelsey shook his head at Kendells outburst watching her run away. She wanted to be a wolf so bad that he feared she would do something stupid to become one. Why cant she see that being a human isnt a bad thing? It makes her unique. Special.

Hearing the words he looked at their speaker through narrowed eyes."You mean she will gain her wish? Such a thing has never been heard of as far as I know."

"Prophecy states, if two elders die, then a royal shall take the position in the council. We have no control over that Prophecy, because everyone on the council is already a member of the pack," I explained to Kelsey.

Reaching the city wall where not many guards stood watch, Kendall grabbed the stone wall with her hands tightly as she leans over placing her head between her arms. She took deep breaths as fresh tears made its course. "Why.....Why do they doubt me?" She spoke out loud.

"They don't doubt you Kendall, they just don't want to die," I said to her. "Elders look at you as royal, they only way for you to come a wolf, is if two of them die, and you take their place on the counsel. That has happened in over century," I told her. I was told to never speak of the prophecy, because it was know, as a fatal tragedy. Telling Kendall was the wrong thing to do, but it seemed necessary to keep her confidence on becoming a wolf. "You've know me for a very long time, since my parents were killed, you took me in as a great friend, and a protector, in which I'm thankful for, So I have decided to step down as your Royal Guard, and become full member of the pack."

"That's just myth of a prophecy. There's no way I can become a wolf just because two Elders died." She shook her head before looking at Andrew. "Why are you becoming full member? I thought you liked being my guard." So much was happening in one day. Kendall couldn't take it all in at one time. Sadness filled her eyes. Everyone knew the risks there would be if there was no Royal Guard. If Andrew steps down as Royal Guard, then there would be a search for a new one...If they could find one.

"The reason, I have decided to step down, from being your guard, is because its time for me too become one in the pack," I explained to her. This was literally hardest thing I could have ever done to Kendall. Knowing that if I step down from being her guard, they would have to find someone else to take my position. "Til, we can find you a new guard, I will stay."

Trying not to show that she was hurting inside, she quickly put her defense. "Don't bother. I can protect myself." Kendall whispered turning her focus anywhere but him. Crossing her arms, she sighed. Knowing she couldn't really protect herself, her brain raced with ideas. As she thought of ideas, she didn't realize that the tears that had once stopped started up again. She felt like he was leaving her. In a way, he was. Snapping out of her thoughts, she shook her head. "I need to be alone for a while." She turned and left towards her room.

"That certainly wasn't the way to deal with that." Kesley chided Andrew gently as he leant back on his hands. He had followed after seeing him going toward the princess."Now she is going be sad all day."

"It had to be done," I told Kelsey. I don't want to step down from being a royal guard, but I knew it was for the best. I walked away from Kelsey, I was full of pure sadness. But it was for the best. I went out to the forest to hunt.

Kelsey sighed shaking his head as he got up. Wasn't there another way? Preferably were no one got hurt. Standing he began to walk further into town. Maybe climbing a few buildings would help relax him.

Reaching her room, Kendall shut the door, locking it up. She leaned her back against the door as she slid down to the floor as she started to sob. Her hand quickly clenched her chest. The pain inside her was too much for her to bare. Noticing a window was slightly open, she left it alone. Inside, the pain started to build up. It felt like nothing she had ever felt before. She knew she needed help but she didn't call out for anyone. Forcing herself up, she made her way over to the window, closed it then tried to make her way over to her bed but ended up on the floor. She didn't bother to move.

Kelsey stopped suddenly dangling from the top of a stone building by his hands. He had a bad feeling and for somehow knew it concerned the princess. Frowning he let go of the latch flipped a few times then landed in a crowch fifteen feet below where he had originally dangled. Standing he began running toward the princesses room panic building in his chest.

Laying on the floor, her entire body started to shake. She didn't know what was happening to her. Kendall slowly pulled herself into a somewhat ball but every move she made, pain shot through her bones. It took every strength she had to not scream out in pain. The only person she felt like she knew wouldn't leave her was Kel. "K.....Kel....Kelsey.." She tried to call out but her voice came out low and soft. For some reason, she knew he could hear it. At least she hoped.

Kelsey snarled hearing the princess say his name. Though he had no idea how. Leaping he transformed into his wolf form mid air and didn't even pause in his running. The princess needed him. Speeding up he soon found himself racing towards the princesses door. Growling he slammed into it and it gave away with a loud crack crashing to the floor. He leapt over the remains and was alarmed by the sight that greeted him.

Kendall layer withering on the floor her face twisted in pain shaking. Whimpering he ran toward her and began looking her over trying to find the source of her pain. He didn't see anything and even worse he didn't smell anything! What was going on?

Finding a little strength, Kendall slowly opened her eyes. She smiled slightly as she raised her hand up to his wolf head. "You.....you came.." A very sharp shot of pain struck causing her to scream. The whole city could probably hear her. Kendall had no clue what was happening. All she knew was that she wanted the pain gone. "Kel...please.....make the pain....go..away.." She whispered, her voice breaking a little. She looked up at Kelsey with pain clearly showing.

Kelsey whined going closer as he frantically tried to find the source. He didn't know What was wrong! Curling up against Kendall to try and offer her comfort he whimpered. Then as a last ditch effort he threw his head back and released a loud howl. A call for help.
