Fantasy The City Of Wolves

Fading Shadow

On the Run as always
The sun started to peak over the trees shining a bright light in a particular window. A soft groan was heard from a large lump of blankets and pillows. "Stupid sun..." came from the messy lump. She sighed before pushing everything off her. Climbing out of her large Queen size bed, her feet lightly touched the tile floor causing shivers to run up her spine. "Oh that's cold!" Kendall pushed herself away from the bed to stroll over to the window which she opened. Breathing in the fresh crisp air, she smiled. "Going to be a great day!" And so she started getting ready for the day.

As I awoke in the early of morning, I had realized that I was in the forest. I must have one of my famous panic attacks in my sleep, and must morphed into my wolf form. I had to get home before I was seen in the nude by all the village folk. Then I realized that I was late for my post to protect the princess. This was the first time in weeks that I have been late for my post. I was gonna be serious trouble with the elders, and the princess. Man my day couldn't get any worst.

Sunlight filtered through the window and into Kelsey's eyes. Scrunching his eyebrows he groaned in irritation. Turning he put his back to the window and tried to fall back asleep yet his mind refused to go back to sleep. Sighing he gave up. Getting up he took a quick shower then through on some chained black baggy pants and a rock short sleeve t shirt. Grabbing his messenger bag full of art supplies he forent shoes and left. He was feeling lazy today and a walk in the forest sounded great.

While I was walking through the forest, I caught the scent of Kelsey. "Holy crap, I'm dead if I don't get out of here quick," I whispered to myself. Then I saw him, so I quickly hid behind a tree. In my head I was saying "Don't notice me, just walk pass." But knowing my own luck, he would smell my scent. But it wouldn't hurt to hope she wouldn't notice me.

Kelsey stopped started as a familiar scent met his nose. Frowning he sniffed the air deeply and realized that the source of the scent was near. Tilting his head he scanned the area curious." Andrew I can smell you but not see you. Are you near?"

"Welp, this is sorta embarrassing," he said out loud. Know that hiding, was just pointless. So I decided to grab a log and put in front my private parts. "Hi, Kelsey," I smiled. I just stood there waiting for him to come up with smart alec comment.

Kelsey blinked shocked as he looked Andrew over. Shaking his head he shook himself out of his shock deciding what he should do. Silently he took off his shirt glad it was extra large and baggy and handed it to him. "Put this on it should at least cover your....."

I was very thankful that Kelsey gave me his shirt. "You don't have to give me your shirt, how about we walk back to my home, so that I can give your shirt back. I would feel bad to keep this shirt," I told him. I knew that I had only twenty minutes before Kendall would send the Calvary to find me, trust me I did not want to be found like this. I was already embarrassed enough to be in front of Kelsey like this. My panic attack started about a year ago, and I was hoping that they would just stop, but of course they do not. I feel weak, because I have panic attacks. A royal guard should not have panic attacks. The elders told me that it was okay that I do because I have a traumatic life.

((Well, I'm off for the night. School tomorrow :) ))

Kelsey thought about it for a moment before nodding as he realized the time. It would be embarrasing if Andrew was found this way."Alright but we better hurry. We don't want the others to find you."

Once Kendall was done with her morning routine, she poked her head out her door and spotted no Andrew. Then an idea popped in her mind as a smirk slowly appeared. Closing her door, Kendall went over to the window next to her bed facing the forest. Pushing the window open, she leaned out and looked around. Noticing a fairly large ledge, Kendall climbed out the window and carefully placed her feet on the ledge. She was going to escape into the forest like she always does.

"Thank you Kelsey," I told him. I caught the sweet scent of the princess. "Do you smell that Kelsey?" I asked him. I knew this was it, if Kendall was to find me, I would be toast. So I quickly ripped of the shirt, and I morphed. I looked over to Kelsey.

Make sure to keep Kendall busy for at least twenty minutes, if she is to find me, she will most definitely gonna turn me over to the elders, and I would appreciate not being turned over to them.

So quickly ran toward the village, I was hoping that Kendall wouldn't pick up my scent.

Being in the forest, Kendall felt at peace. Skipping along, she had a huge smile on her face. Picking a fairly large thick tree, she giggled and raced towards it. Reaching the oak tree, Kendall leaned her head back to look up. She was going to climb to the top. Forgetting that she had a slight fear of heights, Kendall started to pull herself into the tree branches. "I'm going to do it. I'm going to make it up to the top!" She mumbled positively to herself. Finally getting half way, she sighed. "Half way there. Just a bit more to go."

I got back to my home, I grab some new clothes. I raced out of my home, and back into the forest, following Kendalls scent . . . I quickly found her scent, and her, at the top of a tree. "Kendall, what are you doing all the way up there?" I yelled asking her. I didn't want to scare, but I started to climb the tree, and followed her up there.

Kelsey tugged his shirt back on then gathered his stuff before settling against one of the oak trees. Taking out his sketchbook and pencil he began sketching some nearby primroses humming quitely as he patently waited for the princess to arrive. He was feeling oddly calm today. It was a nice feeling.

Hearing her name, she looks down and noticed how high up she was. So she decided to stay put on the branch she was on. Taking a deep breathe, "I wanted to climb a tree.... but I didn't realize I was up this high." She said out loud. Kendall didn't want to look down so she leaned back against the oak tree. She even didn't notice that her hands were starting to shake.

"Kelsey, do you mind helping in getting the princess down safely?" I yelled down to the ground below. "Kendall, please stay calm, and take my hand. Were gonna get you down," I thought of away to calm her down, I would tell her a story from my past. "Did you know that the reason that I was late for my post this morning, was because I had a panic attack, and morphed in my sleep? Kelsey was the one that sorta found me." I started to tell her.

She slightly smiled. "Really? That must have been awkward." She spoke softly, fear was softly laced within her voice. Looking at his hand, Kendall slowly lifted her hand off the branch and over to his. But as she did so, her balance became unsteady. Trying to stay calm and keep her panic down, she also tried to not look down. Looking into his eyes, she whispered "Please don't let me fall." Her mouth was dry. Even though it was slightly windy out, beads of sweat started to roll down her face.

Kelsey shot up alarmed as he heard Andrews yell. Putting his stuff back up he began running toward their scent and soon found them high in the tree. "You guys are both idiots!" Chucking his bag to the ground he found a good grip on the tree and began climbing.

Unlike Kendell he didn't fear heights and actually really like climbing so wasn't afraid to take a few risk. He jumped limb from limb sometimes throwing himself up to one until he finally made it up to them. Settling on a branch high in the air with only ground under it he glared at them all of his previouse calmness gone."What exactly do you want me to do?"

"I wont let you fall, thats not under my job description," I laughed. "Kelsey, when I throw her, I'm gonna expect you to catch her," I yelled to him. I lifted her to my waste. "You may wanna get on the ground Kelsey!" I shouted as I seen him climbing the tree. I waited for him to get to the ground . . .

Kelsey scrowled irritated as he climbed back down. Landing in a crowch he took a few steps back then looked up at them."Hurry it up."

As I threw her down, I tried to keep it a slow fall as possible. "Did she get down okay Kelsey?" I yelled to him. I slowly started to climb down the tree, and then I got lost in a daydream. I was in the middle of the field with my parents again, it was such a peaceful time, I did not want it to end. But I soon realized if I didn't snap out of it, I would be lost forever.

Kelsey grunted catching Kendell bridal style. Cradling her close he looked up at Andrew."She is fine. Stop being so slow and get down here already."

I jumped down to the ground, and snapped back into reality. "Thanks Kelsey," I said to him. I looked over to Kendall, she okay now, not so much in a panic. "Guys the elders would like to meet with us right now."

Hearing the word elders, she frowned. Kendall was pretty sure whatever they wanted to talk about, it wasn't really that important. Probably just boring things like always. "Yeah.... Yeah...." She took her sweet old time making her way to the elders. Kendall didn't really want to hear what they have to say.
