And what exactly is the point my character is at? Already a member? Or randomly being in the village where no recruit could ever be?

The group has literally just started, Astred has not met anyone in the CS aside from the Elf warrior that Archdemon made.
Or for a straight answer you are in the village for one reason or another.

I'm not going to lie, I just looked at your character. Good except for one thing. There are no fire arms in this, not even primitive ones. The rest of your character is absolutely fine, just no Firearms. You can easily replace the guns with Crossbows and the like.

Pardon me for asking, but what's wrong with having breech-loading firearms in the setting? They've been in use since the Late Medieval period, and I wouldn't consider them game breakers by any respect.

Reid's accuracy with a bow might seem unrealistic, or OP, but it's actually quite accurate.

If you look up Lars Andersen, he's only been using a bow for 13 years, and look what he's done:




Reid has been doing archery for 22 years.

Reminder that Lars practices trick shooting, meaning his shooting isn't designed for penetration, so its not good for combat/

Actually, he's been shown firing while running, jumping, on moving targets, and even being fired back at. Also at point blank, and extreme ranges.

Yes, he also does things where he holds the bow in his foot and whatever, but that's a very small portion of what he does.

The firing while moving and jumping is in the trick shooting category, historical archers in combat were generally stationary to improve accuracy and penetration.

Hence the "firing on moving targets, and while being fired back at... at point blank at extreme ranges". Not to mention his extreme accuracy regardless of how he's shooting. He does also quite a bit of stationary shooting, though.

Either way, regardless of if it's trickshooting or sport archery, or any other kind, SEVERAL sources (I'll link them if you really want) say that it takes 10 years to make a "pretty good" archer. Reid's been using a bow almost every day for 22 years.

Demonsoul In the end, regardless of who's "correct" in this, it's a roleplay. I just wanted to clarify that my character's combat isn't complete BS, so..

Point is, I'm not exactly willing to argue this.

Slim Intoxicado I agree, this is fantasy there's no reason to really argue, lets leave it at that, do remember that this RP is based on weaker characters working together to survive than legendary heroes.
