[The Wordsmith Myth]

The world is how it's been for a very long time. The rich the poor. The Young the old. Some are better off than others. In the midst of people working only for their own gain or those giving to charity. Those who work jobs as janitors, builders, programmers, or content creators. Tensions are high between some world nations.

But little does the world know that all of this will mean squat in 24 hours. When the dead start walking.

These characters must survive the beginning and live through the undead apocalypse primarily taking place in America.

The zombie infections spreads only through bites and it's origin is currently unknown. The zombies do not decompose for a very long time so they remain strong and fast making them very dangerous. A few zombies can be handled with preperation or very quick thinking. But if you face a horde. RUN

Jason awoke early that fateful morning for his shift. After enjoying a large breakfast consisting of bacon and eggs and hashbrowns and pancakes he hugged his parents, gave his sister Ali a big kiss on the cheek and headed out to the precinct for what was only his third ever shift as an offical law enforcement officer.

Mirabelle had woken up early that day to make breakfast for her family. Without thinking she had taken out 4 sets of plates and brought out her mother's coffee mug along with hers and her father's. She was cooking the eggs when she noticed what she had done. She picked up the extra plate and mug stashing them back quickly away before her father walked down the stairs. She took in a deep breath holding back the tears she had to remain strong for her father. She knew he missed her mother dearly as did she. She and her mother were very close and every day without her around was heartbreaking, so she could only imagine what her father was feeling. She wiped away her tears and continued to finish up making breakfast. Just in time for her father to walk in. "Morning jelly bean..." a deep voice said as he walked over and sat at the breakfast table. "Morning daddy..." she said, placing the plate of food in front of him along with the mug of coffee. Giving him a peck on his temple as she went back to the stove to get hers and her brothers plates ready. "Andy finished his science project?..." the man asked, taking a sip of coffee. "yes I finished helping him last night...dad...i'll be a bit late coming home today i'll be going out with Dr. Lowrance to help him to the riding school...for check ups and checking how the mare is coming along with her foal..." she said setting plates down on the table for her and Andres. "That's fine my evening meeting was canceled so I'll pick up Andy from practice..." He reassured his daughter as she smiled back at him and took a seat. With that a 10 year old boy walked in with messy hair and half asleep. "Morning...." He said as he sat down letting out a sleepy yawn.

The small family finish their breakfast, Derrian leaving to work and the two siblings left together. Mirabelle pulled up to the elementary school, Andrez holding his science model on his lap. The boy sighed looking out the window "you will do great Andy… your project is amazing and you have been studying hard all week you will do great your a great speller….plus it's pizza night...your favorite! I'll let you choose the movie…." She said as Andy nodded. Mirabelle reached over giving him a tight hug before watching him walk off into the Elementary school before heading herself to work.

Dorothy woke up and got ready for work, her husband always making breakfast for her when she worked. The older couple greeted each other with a kiss as the older man handed her morning cup of tea. They had a lovely morning before going their separate ways Dorothy to the school she worked at while her husband headed towards the hardware store.

It was another morning for Taylor as she got herself ready for work, she yawned as she got herself ready. It was always tough for her to get up in the mornings. There was already the smell of coffee in the air as she went into the kitchen. Her parents sat at the table like every morning enjoying the first cup coffee of the day and talking about how the day might go.

"Morning." She said walking to the coffee pot and pouring herself a cup in her to-go cup. "Morning dear. Will you be getting off on time today? Your brother will be over tonight for dinner. He said he got some news for us." Her mother said. Taylor shrugged. "I don't know. You know how it goes, usually someone is late or have to call off. I'll try." Her dad sipped his coffee before speaking. "You know you wouldn't have to deal with that any longer if you just go back to school. Your brother said he could help you out. You like to read so much you might as well read something useful instead of those magic books, you can't stay under our roof forever." Taylor sighed, this was a conversation she had often. "They are fantasy and I don't need his help..it's too early to talk about this." She wasn't in the mood to talk about this. She grabbed a pop tart out of the box. "We can talk more about it tonight. Love you " Without another word she left the kitchen with her coffee and breakfast and headed out to the grocery store.

Once they got to their respective jobs it was clear something was strange. For most of them have of their coworkers or fellow students were either out sick or caring for someone they knew to be suddenly sick.

Most of the police were still working they couldn't take the time off with strange calls general chaos throughout salt lake. (Who wants the first resl encounter?)

The poor tired principal walked in exhausted having to deal with all of the abstinence. He lowered the projector and started up the movie for them. He let the small class of 6 know that they had a free day, to enjoy the movie and that he would be back to check on them.

(Sorry just got off of work. It's been crazy.) Taylor got to get work only to find two people had called off. She was going to have to work a double. She sighed and got to doing her job of ringing people up at the register. After a while she noticed it was slower than normal and she over heard some customers mentions their friends were sick. Maybe some kind of flu was going around.

Friends and families texting amd calling telling them to stay indoors or to say some kind of heartfelt good bye. But all with the same thing to say about that new wave of sickness going around. For Andrez, Ali, and sweet old Dorothy (lets just put them all in the same place) school ended extremely early. But they weren't let out to go home. Their parents would pick them up one by one except for those whoes parents never came. The principal and what remained of the staff sent any kids displaying unusual symptoms such as as bloody noses and bloody tears to another room and locked them in.

At the store Taylor worked at people were no longer being allowed into the store. In fact she was given instructions to lock every door and then go home.

All of Derrian's important meetings had been canceled. He also recieved a call that Andrez's school was let out and he needed to come pick him up as soon as possible. Right after that call there came a banging knock on his office door. The knocking did not stop. And he could hear snarling from the other side.

At Mirabelle's place of work things were at their worse. The front doors being made of glass broke easily and a few people ran in. But people wasn't quite the right word. At least not anymore. Their eyes, mouths, and teeth all seemed to be flooding and leaking vast amounts of blood. And they practically ran clawing amd biting and the nearest person that they could reach.

Mirabelle herself was attacked and almost bitten. But a loud shot rang out and a blonde police officer helped her up. "You okay?" He asked. He had bites and scratches on his arm. ( Musicnotes do we want any of our main group of characters to be immune to the virus? I'm gonna have Jason and Ali be at least)

Jason thought it was strange when some of the fellow officers began to have weird symptoms. What was weirder was that all these symptoms matched up. Bloody tears and noses and spit. Groans and complaints of hunger pains and light headaches which turnes into migrains until eventually many of them were just slumped over their desks. Captain Gardner came out of his office

"I know I said all hands on deck today because of the calls. But if you guys really need to go then go." He said. None of the sick responded. "That means you Johnson." He said gripping the shoulder of a skinny cop who had his head resting on his arms on his desk. The cop in question promptly turned and bit into the captain's arm with growels and snarls and tackled him down and started to tear into him.

Jason pulled out his gun. "STOP IT!" He yelled and shot Johnson who slumped down. Temhe gunshot seemed to rouse the other sick who all got up from their desks groaning. With blood gushing from every orifice of their bodies. Less than a third of the force survived the initial chaotic attack of ravenous monsters. And even more of them transformed themselves after getting bitten. Only Jason and a few others seemed to be overall unaffected by the bites.

Mirabelle stepped out from one of the storage room as she heard gun fire she walked over towards the front of the Vet hospital. Her phone went off as she made her way towards the reception and waiting area. She never got the chance to check her phone as the sound of glass shuddering caused her to run. As she went towards the swing door that lead to the reception desk she saw it. The glass entrance had been shattered people with bloody eyes, mouths, and teeth. Crawling around around like animals as blood flowed from them. She was in shock at the image infront of her. "Kimberly?.." she said in a loud whisper looking for the receptionist. Her eyes met with a gruesome scene of the receptionist being torn apart by a couple of those rabonous people. She gasped covering her mouth as she took a few steps back, she must have been a bit to loud as it alerted a few of them.

Mirabelle's eyes went wide as two of them look to her direction. She ran down the hall back to the supply room where she had been. About to reach the door one of the non-humans grabed her medical coat and pulled her to the ground. She let out of scream as she tried to push them off, almost getting bitten when a loud shot rang out and the two that had been attacking her stumbled off of her. She sat up frantically looking around unsure what to do as a voice cause her to look up. A police officer asking her if she was okay as he helped her up. Mirabelle was lost for words as she looked at him and nodded. "Your arm!" She finally spoke as she saw the condition on his arm.

Dorothy stoped half way through her meal preparation when the principal had come in to tell her that they would be sending all the children and remaining staff home. She was confused as to why the chdren were separated. Worried for the kids crying when taken to a room with bloody noses and eyes. With seeing that she quickly knew something was wrong.

Andrez was taken out of his classroom along with others and is class and those from the rest of the school over to were they were to get picked up. He did not like this, some of the others were crying as they waited for their parents. Some kids getting picked up while others waited. Andrez pulled out his phone and texted his dad and sister unsure who would pick him up. He was starting to get scared from the way the adults were acting, he could tell it wasn't good as they looked nervious and scared themselves.

Derrian gathered his things and packed up his brief case getting ready to head out. The day had befome stranger and stranger. He had gotten a message about picking up his some to which he sent out a message to his daughter about what was happening with Andrez and to give him a call when she could. As he walked to his office door his phone received a message from Andrez. He stooed checking his phone and replied, only to look over towards the door when the sound of banging on his door. The banging knock did not stop and it seem to grow louder. He reached for one of his golf clubs as he moved closer to the door. "Miss Lillyann?.." He questioned wondering if it was his secretary as he griped the golf club when the sound of snarling could be heard.

She gasped as her little brother popped into her mind when he mentioned his sister. But she didn't have a chance to say anything as he gabed her and pulled her out of the Vet hospital and to his car. "Wait were are we going?!" She asked as he took her to the car.

Andrez looked over to Ali seeing that she was crying as they were separated them from the others. "Excuse me..." Andrez said walking over to one of the teachers that was with them holding a hankerchief to her mouth. "Do you know how much longer until they come for us?..." he asked. Andrez heard the growl and steped back from the women, scared and confused to what was going on. He looked over to Ali and grabed her hand and pulled her to run out of the school with him.

Dorothy quickly walked to her car she had to leave and go find her husband. As she climbed into her car she saw Andrez running out of the school pulling Ali along with him. Dorothy did not think twice as she yelled out to the two children to get into her car. Andrez took the aprotunaty and pulled Ali into the old women's car. "Sweethearts are you alright?...what happened you were to be waiting for your parents with one of the teachers..." she asked as she closed the door

"Immune? What are you talking about?...they actually bit you?" Mirabelle said as she grabed the vet travel bag she had restock and other things off the shelf. She gasped as her little brother popped into her mind when he mentioned his sister. But she didn't have a chance to say anything as he gabed her and pulled her out of the Vet hospital and to his car. "Wait were are we going?!" She asked as he took her to the car.

Andrez looked over to Ali seeing that she was crying as they were separated them from the others. "Excuse me..." Andrez said walking over to one of the teachers that was with them holding a hankerchief to her mouth. "Do you know how much longer until they come for us?..." he asked. Andrez heard the growl and steped back from the women, scared and confused to what was going on. He looked over to Ali and grabed her hand and pulled her to run out of the school with him.

Dorothy quickly walked to her car she had to leave and go find her husband. As she climbed into her car she saw Andrez running out of the school pulling Ali along with him. Dorothy did not think twice as she yelled out to the two children to get into her car. Andrez took the aprotunaty and pulled Ali into the old women's car. "Sweethearts are you alright?...what happened you were to be waiting for your parents with one of the teachers..." she asked as she closed the door

Ali ran with him her face now full of terror as she watched the remaining teachers try to keep the zombie teacher away from the still healthy students. She yelled, growled and bit at the others.

Ali was crying. "One of the teachers got s-sick... attacked others." She sniffed. As she did so a cop car drove into the parking lot. Ali's eyes lit up when Jason got out. "That's my brother!" She said.

"Over here!...your little ones are with me!" Dorothy yells out from her car window stoping the two from going into the school.

Her dad went to the door. " we need to lock the door, we dont want those things in here."
