The Apprentice (Fox X Karcen)

[Foxora]

He looked around. "Well, last time I was here, scans pointed out that there was more underground, so we should look for an entrance down below." he started walking with her. "There will be an opening somewhere, that much is for sure."

 

[Karcen]

" I can do that master" She said thinking about how she could become liquid and move though even the tiniest cracks. They just needed to find a way down and it would be easy if Sebastian didn't have something to vaporize any ruble they came across.

 

[Foxora]

"Well, then Alright. Lets try over there, it looks like it could be an entrance" he pointed toward what looked like a structure that could've had a roof, and was on a stone foundation, but the roof was now in many pieces around and it and in the structure."

 

[Karcen]

" ok" 84 said going over to the place indicated and started looking around, the ruins were mostly stone that had been worked and carved with great skill, but ancient people were often more inventive than modern people gave the credit for. Soon enough 84 found a crack that seemed to lead down and she turned into a flowing liquid and flowed over and into the crack. Slowly 84 moved down deep into the crack finding more and more rubble until finally she found a large opening. The ruins were well dark that was a given they had been closed up for who knew how long and torches and or candles had been the best way of getting light till recently. Still feeling around the passage felt sturdy.


" Master there seems to be a passage down" She shouted unsure if Sebastian could hear her.

 

[Foxora]

He did hear and nodded. "Ok! Come back up!" he then pulled out a very large device. So large, it was a wonder he was able to hold it with such ease. At the very end of it was a rather large drill bit that looked great for excavation.

 

[Karcen]

84 turned back into a liquid and slowly made her way back up. it was simpler to retrace her path up than to find a proper way down as she had no way of knowing if she had gone to deep but apparently she had only gone down a short while before the tunnel had been revealed.


When 84 got back up she quickly reformed all dirt and grime was absent rather it was cats off at her feet instead of clinging to her. Sebastian had summoned forth some kind of drill though where it came from she didn't know but she guessed it was just some crazy technology he had.

 

[Foxora]

"Ok, show me the best place to dig and then stand behind me" he activated it and the Drill started to spin and whir somewhat loudly.

 

[Karcen]

" ok " 84 said point out the spot she had gone down " I think there would be good" she said as she move behind Sebastian not sure what would happen when he put the drill to the rubble.

 

[Foxora]

He stepped over to that spot and lowered the tip of the drill at the Rubble, and she got to watch as ancient rock and concrete was obliterated into smaller pieces or even dust and smacked out of the way as Sebastian kept a steady pace down. he then discovered that the rubble hid a staircase, which he rectified in no time at all as he dug deeper and deeper.

84 watched as Sebastian cleared a path down this was more delicate than the common method of using explosives, though who knows what had been lost by the destruction. Well it couldn't have been important as things that were important wouldn't have been so exposed. 84 wondered what was deep below the surface, though there was a limit of how deep they could go before they got to the arachnids territory.

 

[Foxora]

Sebastian finally stopped drilling when he noticed the walled around him suddenly became open space and there wasn't any resistance felt on his drill as he stepped forward, so he deactivated it and once again defying everything Ellie ever knew, made it disappear into thin air. "Well now... this is interesting" It was a rather expansive room, though completely dark until Sebastian launched a drone that flew by his shoulder and lit a very bright light into the darkness. there they saw a few skeletons, pillars, and structures.

 

[Karcen]

84 could only watch as the drill vanished while she thought it was magic or would have she knew it wasn't even if that was the only explanation the world understood. Inside the rather big room, things where about as advanced as you would expect nothing said this was anything more than normal ruins. The skeletons were a bit of a mystery, but even 84 could think up a few explanations as to what they were doing. On the wall there were many rows of pictures carved and painted that illustrated life of the people that had called her home.

Sebastian started walking around and exploring every part of the room. The drone would occasionally drop a sphere of pure light that would stay in place in mid air and remain there, this slowly lighting up the room to a more comfortable brightness as he started scanning the skeletons and the artwork . "Fascinating...."

 

[Karcen]

84 looked at the walls, and she did notice that they were very smooth and well worked like the homes of the rich in the cities. Even she knew this meant the people were skilled in working stone though how skilled was up for debate as a large room wasn't exactly the stunning works of the grand cathedrals found in many cities. 84 wondered what all the picture meant as they were put their on purpose and for the most basic looks she could tell they were about the people who apparently did lots of farming maybe for all she knew they could have said these people where actually an arachnid trading posts those spider like beings knew how to work stone in ways that seemed to defy logic or so she had been told.

Sebastian scanned the paintings, wall designs and skeletons, gathering as much data as he could "Seemed like this place would've been a nice looking place in it's hay day." he then came across a door "Found out where we'll go next!"

 

[Karcen]

" Where does it lead " 84 asked looking at the door, which like most things in this place seemed to be made of stone and could be very thick, but they had Sebastian's tools which would no doubt make short work of the ruins.

 

[Foxora]

"only one way to find out" he said as he pressed something on his boots and parts of it started to glow, he then proceeded to kick the door clean off it's hinges "there we go" he turned the light off

 

[Karcen]

apparently the door was not stone, also it had hinges 84 had expected it to be a sliding door, but well ancient people knew about lots of stuff people forgot they knew about . The races had advanced discovering and rediscovering things lost in war though this meant things were found and lost it spoke little of the social advancement.


The door itself lead to a hallways which was not covered in any decoration and showed less wear than the room which had spent some time slightly exposed. the hallways gently curved leading down deeper into the earth making 84 think maybe it had been the arachnids that made this place.

Sebastian walked into the Hallway. "Now then, What secrets lies below" He saw the downward decent to the who knows where he turned to Ellie and stole another bite to her neck and suck out more of her liquid. after getting what he deemed "enough" for now he released her neck and started walking in deeper.

 

[Karcen]

84 was starting to feel like a walking drink dispenser, well Sebastian wasn't the only one to get that idea still it was a bit surprising to see him seemingly getting used to the idea of just taking without asking first. Still it was kind of why she had made sure to soak up that extra water so she didn't mind as they descended.


The hallway didn't actually go too far and it came into a large room, though smaller than the last one and it had many small doors around it. Some of these doors were open and they looked like they could have once been a dormitory of sorts.

 

[Foxora]

"This place is starting to look like part of a campus or something" He said after picking up that this place looked like a dorm. "But a campus for what?" He examined some rubble, brushing them away in case something was hidden beneath

 

[Karcen]

84 didn't know what a campus was but this reminded her more of a temple than anything else as the above ruined building had been too small to hold many people. 84 looked up where there was the robot who was still putting out lights to illuminate everything and she saw something on the roof. There was a picture made out of tiles that seemed to showed a picture of a war between races with one side, no doubt those that had owned this place, backed by something that looked like dark tendrils . That reminded her of something from the temples that had been described to her by those that worked don them, but instead of a god of light these people seemed backed by a dark god.


" Master look up I think this is a temple " 84 said as she pointed up.

 

[Foxora]

"Hm?" Sebastian looked back at her then looked up... !! "Oh, now this makes more sense" He then started scanning the entire ceiling once the drone illuminated the entire ceiling. "that's one creepy looking Monster" He said as he looked at the dark creature in the picture.

 

[Karcen]

84 kept looking at the picture or we'll mosaic on the ceiling. It made her feel a bit odd like they should leave it anger this dark god.


" Maybe we should leave" she said

 

[Foxora]

"Leave? After just discovering this place?" His fingers were on fire as they tapped on a holo screen he had floatign in front of him "Your not spooked out are ya?" he chuckled
