Tales of the RDF - OOC

Hey everyone. We will be getting a new player here shortly. @Dano has expressed an interest in a more mature game group (being a older player himself), and we've been chatting in PMs. He will be taking up the team mechanic position.


@Epiphany, have you been reading up on what you have missed? If so, would you like to replace your mecha with one of the new models, or stick with your old ride?
 
@Dano, can you please give me a d100 roll for some special aptitude bonuses, either here or on your sheet?
 
On any post you have made, in the lower right hand side, there is a small button that says "Roll Dice". When you click on that, it will give you a screen asking for how many dice to roll, how many faces, and if there are any bonuses to go with it. When done, it will look like this:

You have the bonus called Quick Reflexes. That gives you one additional attack per round and +1 to dodge.
 
Give me a little bit to set the scene for you, then you'll be jumping in. I'm still waiting to hear from @Epiphany about her choice in mecha; will you be taking on one of the new Zentraedi Officer Pods like your unit commander?
 
Probably, because Zentraedi pride and all that. Even if it means Zaile's player will no longer enjoy her two arm-cannon mecha. ;_;


That said, did I read somewhere that Veritechs are now an option for a mixed unit? Zaile's Special Aptitude bonus is the entirely useless 'Natural Veritech Ace' and I admit that there's some appeal in actually putting that to use. ;)
 
Welcome @Dano! I look forward to RPing with you. Have you played Robotech or Palladium system before? Also, why did you ask to join this particular game? Do you know Sherwood or something? =)

I've not experienced the Robotech or Palladium system (although Palladium sounds familiar). Welian suggested that I look up Sherwood and join one of his RP's so I sent him a message and he said he would be willing to help me out since I've never been in a dice RP before.
 
For simplicity's sake, let's go with the UEEF Officer Pod then. As long as it's cool that an enlisted girl's driving it. ;)
 
Ok, add the MECT Officer Pod to your sheet. I'll set up both you and @Dano once these last two pods are taken down.
 
The writeup mentions bonuses from MECT. Are those in addition to my Elite Combat Training or do they replace Elite Combat Training? Or do I just use my Elite Combat Training?
 
Heya Pips! The Officer's Pod MECT is counted as a separate skill. MECT skills do not stack; they just change from mech to mech (each having its own different design and capabilities). In Zaile's case, if she hops into her Tomahawk, she uses only the Tomahawk MECT bonus. If she hopped into her old Quaedluun-Rau Armor (somehow), she would use those bonuses. Now in the Officer's Pod, only that MECT and so forth (I hope I understood your question correctly?). =)

Awesome. My sheet is now fully updated and ready to go. Exactly the question I wanted answered, so thank you! :)


As for the approvals, I praise where praise is due, particularly posts that show a bit of thought, development and create or move the story forward. Thank yourself for writing interesting, fun posts to read!

I suppose working 6 days a week and just coming off of an 11 1/2 hour shift, I'm happy that at least I posted in the right game. Hah! =)


Sherwood, feel free if it's within your powers to move any such future posts of mine. Or is that an option for you in this version of dice RP?
 
Didn't a Malcontent from an Officer pod survive? It was like the first thing that was shot down, literally if I remember correctly.
