Jepitha shook his head slowly as he gently placed his hands on Hisashis shoulders. "Stop saying that. We don't hate you Hisashi. It's just that Kino and Maoni don't think your actions were the best ones. Now we all do something that others will question, I know that better then most people. Now I'm not gonna abandon a good person just because he took some action. Just stay with us for a few days, we'll be moving on, so nobody around here will start worrying. And your crystal should be back to green in no time." He explained.

Hisashi contributed to stare down at the ground.


"After all of that, you still think I'm a good person?" He let out a faint chuckle. "Wow, Jepetto, you're crazier than I thought. Isn't it funny how everyone seems to think you fully understand a person after knowing em just one day?" He mused, mostly to himself.


He backed up and looked Jep straight in the eye. "I'll come back, but under one condition." He said, his face completely serious.


"Promise me, if I ever become what I was in there... If I ever do anything like that... You'll treat me the same. I can't do that to them. Not again." He sighed, and looked up at his cursor, and the orange glow that spilled from it.


"If this thing turns orange again, I need you to not hesitate in doing what needs to be done, alright? It won't count against you as a PK, not if mine's orange. Promise me, Jep."


Hisashi stared at Jep, eyes watering, and held his hand out for him to shake.

Jepitha looked down at Hisashis hands for a moment before he looked back into the eyes. He nodded slowly just once before he shook his friends hand. "I can promise you that much, at least." He said as he let go of his hand. "If you feel the tendencies resurfacing, just tell me first." He added.

Hisashi nodded, "Yeah, I'll make sure to. And if I do, just knock me out or something." He looked up at Jep with a faint smile, before turning and walking back into the tavern.


"Guess I'll have to rent myself a room, huh?" He called back over his shoulder.


Hisashi sat at the bar, and waved the barkeep over. The man approached him slowly, and glanced from his face to his cursor and back, worriedly.


"Oh, that?" Hisashi snorted. "Misunderstanding. Accidentlly walked out of someone's shop with a sword I'd been looking at but forgot I still had on me. I went back and paid for it of course, but the game had already marked me, so it'll clear up in a few days." He lied, with his signature grin.


Was this the kind of person I was before? Some cheeky bastard? I don't even know anymore.


Hisashi thought to himself.


"Anyways, could I get a couple beers to go, and how much is a room for a night or two?" He asked, before paying for the beers and the room, muttering about being broke in Aincrad AND the real world.


"Ah, one more thing? Where's the nearest blacksmith? Got into a tussle and my armor..." He quickly equipped his armor and then gave it a tap right on his chest.


Instantly, the armor exploded into pixels and vanished, leaving him in his cloak again.


"We got just the one in town, but I don't suggest you go there till uh, your names cleared and whatnot." The bartender replied, scratching his head.


Hisashi thanked him, and walked up the stairs to find his room. Looking down a familiar hallway, he found his just next door to Jep and Kino's room. Sighing, he crossed the hallway, past the room where Maoni and Kino were still in, noticing the door was still open, but he made no attempt to talked to them as he entered his own.

Maoni hadnt said anything to Kino. She had nothing to say at all. Instead she was just lost in her thoughts, thinking of what happened right before her eyes. It was full on murder that happened. And she couldnt do anything to keep it from happening. With a shake of her head, she went to walk out, only to see Hisashi walk past her and into the next room over "Hisashi?" Maoni called as she slowly walked over to the door next to Jeps. Stopping Hisashi's door from closing, she pushed it open, looking at him "Hisashi..." Maoni repeated

Kino walked out after her, hearing her call Hisashi's name as he walked past him. Kino fully ignored him, and walked out of the tavern where he saw Jep. "Hey Jep. I think I want to go on a quest." Kino began. He was about to explain the one he wanted to go on, when he saw some one riding in on a Mount. "Wow... Its a Bograven." Kino said in awe. The man was yelling something about a tournament. "A tournament?" Kino repeated. He looked at Jep with a childish grin.

Hisashi didn't turn around from where he stood, looking out of the room's window that faced the center of the town.


"Y'know for a quiet guy, Jep's got a way with words." He said after a while. "How high up do you think these windows are? Not huh enough right?" He thought out loud, with a half-hearted chuckle.


Slowly Hisashi turned to face Maoni, with a sad look in his eyes.


"Y'know, I really do hate that you had to see all that. Specially after making you cry yesterday, too." He said softly, before crossing the room to sit on his bed.

Maoni's look softened as she let out a gentle sigh "I tried to stop you with the best of my ability." Maoni leaned on the doorframe, resting her head against it as well "Did you really have to do it, Hisashi? Or was it because you wanted to see him gone? I know you said it was for our protection but that is no excuse to do..full on.." she lowered her eyes and muttered "murder." she hated to use the word but it was true, killing him with the determination to make sure he was dead was horrible...

Hisashi frowned and looked down with a sigh.


"I'm not gonna try to justify myself for what I did. No matter what reasons I may have had, they're just excuses, and I'll still have blood on my hands." He shook his head.


"Sure, my first thought was of you all, and of the things he said, but when I...." His voice wavered. "But when it ended, I guess it was a number of reasons. Mainly, it was my face I saw as it happened." He said, resting his elbows on his legs, and his head in his hands. "But it was their's too. My friends, the ones I COULDN'T save. It was like they were saying 'why did you go all this way to save people you met yesterday, but not the people you knew your whole life?' I just wanted it to stop." He sighed, as a tear rolled down his face. "I just wanted it all to stop."

Maoni sighed and walked in, making her way over to him and sitting on the bed by him. "Well its all over now..next time, we're going to protect you. I cant just let you lose your cool like you did. That side of you was a side I never thought that you would have..I guess that I was wrong." lifting her arm, she wrapped it around his shoulders "we'll all be here for you..though I'm not so sure about Kino right now..he seemed like he was determining weather to be your friend or not..."

Jepitha raised an eyebrow before he sighed to softly, face palming himself. "Just tell me when and where, and I'll think about it." He told Kino. It was moments like this in which Jepitha felt like a father with a really curious ten year old son, but what can Jepitha do? Well not much at the moment.

"I don't blame the kid. That was a side of me even I didn't know was there, and I sure as hell wouldn't want to be friends with it either." Hisashi replied. "I just hope that I never get like that again. At the very least, not where you all can see it."


Hisashi stayed silent, head still in his hands.


He, without noticing, had begun to lean into Maoni as she sat next to him.


He took a deep breath. "You know I-" he started, lifting his head to look at Maoni, only to stop short and back down almost immediately after, his ears beginning to burn.

Maoni just sat there next to him as Hisashi leaned into her. Not that she minded anything. Maoni really didnt see this as something couples would do..she didnt even notice that this might be a lovey-dovey moment. Relationships-Lover wise- was not something Maoni looked for in this game. The young girl just wanted to go back home. When Hisashi spoke, Maoni looked at him and noticed that he stopped short "What?" she asked as an eyebrow raised "Come on..spit it out." When her eyes lowered down to his ear, she spotted the cherry-colored ear "Are you scared to tell me something?"

Hisashi tried to bury his face further into his hands. "I-it's nothing. It's dumb of me to think that-" he stopped again, ears growing redder.


He muttered to himself, too quiet for Maoni to hear.


Seriously? You just killed a guy. This is NOT the time for any of this. He thought to himself. Besides, there's no possible way that she'd feel the same.





"J-just forget I said anything, ok? Please?"

Maoni raised her eyebrow as he just suddenly got shy "I'm not going to forget you said anything. I'm now curious as to why you're hiding your face, not to mention your ears are red as if you seen something you shouldnt have." Of course, Maoni was oblivious to the fact that he might be trying to claim his feelings for her or something "I wont force you to tell me but you got me curious.."

It occurred to Hisashi that Maoni truly had no idea what was going on. He giggled a bit to himself and looked back up at her, revealing that his face was a bright red.


"You really are something else aren't you? I don't mean that negatively at all. Just in the short time I've known you..." He smiled genuinely, "there hasn't been a moment where I wasn't truly amazed." He scratched the back of his head and pushed his hair back.


"I'm sorry, I know my saying this is really out of place." He said quietly.

Maoni now was able to see Hisashi's bright red face. She was doing all that she could to ignore the fact that Hisashi might have some feelings for her in the romantic way. "Truely amazed?" she asked Please dont tell me he's trying to confess? I would say something but..Now is not the time to be dilly dallying around and getting hooked up with someone I just met. "What you're saying really isnt out of place. Those are just words I havent heard in a very long time." compliments...She loved compliments.

Hisashi sat up straight and pulled at his shirt' neckline. "No, it IS out of place on my part, given the circumstance." He sighed.


He stood up and began to pace around the room. "I think I'm just gonna sleep for the next few days, seeing how I can't exactly go around in public until my name clears up, and there isn't much to do here." He said, quickly changing the subject.

Yep, He was planning something and Maoni knew it. That was before he changed the subject "Well then I guess i'll take my leave. I need to craft my next sword, sell some old ones that dont really work on me anymore." Maoni got up from the bed "I'll talk to you later, Hisashi." with that, she made her way to the door "Sleep well." (GIVING YOU THE CHANCE TO STOP HER! xD )

Hisashi, looked at the ground as his heart began to beat rapidly. "W-wait!" He called after her, before running to stand in the doorway. He gently put his hands on Maoni's shoulders and looked down at her, noticeably nervous.


"Thank you. For not hating me. It would have killed me, loving you while having to live my life knowing you never wanted to see my face again!" He blurted out.


It took Hisashi a few seconds to realize what he had said, and his whole body tensed up, as he went pale, followed by and all-too familiar red.

Maoni just froze, staring at him wide eyed as he practiclly confessed his love for her. Heat rushed to her cheeks and her ears had turned red too. not that he would have seen since her hair was down. Looking off to the side, she cleared her throat before speaking. But her words were not expected "Y-You're welcome. I-I also didnt k-know you had f-feelings f-for me." Slowly, she turned her gaze back up to Hisashi. Her heart speed began to speed up as she watched him

Hisashi stood there, frozen for a moment, still trying to comprehend what he'd just said.


"W-well I um, ahem-" he pulled his hands back and covered his mouth as he cleared his throat. His left hand then went into his pocket, and his right hand went into the back of his head.


"I uh, y-yeah." He sputtered, unable to look Maoni in the eyes out of embarrassment.

Maoni was embarassed in her own way. She didnt know how to react to such a situation. Though, the air seemed to be tense as she stood there in front of Hisashi "W-Well I g-guess thats a g-good thing.." was it a good thing? Or was it a bad thing to accept his love? Why does this have to be complicated!?


Why cant I just act like its nothing to me? Maoni thought. Taking a deep breath, she tried to speak normally "I Think I should g-go." she looked over to the side again, still a little pink

Hisashi's eyes were wide and his heart was beating a mile a minute. "R-ri-" his voice came out barely above a squeak.


He fake coughed and tried to regain his composure. "Right. Sword. Get sword." He managed to say, stepping aside so she could leave.


"G-good sword getting?" He said, too confused and embarrassed to speak properly.


Once Maoni had left, Hisashi sighed, leaving the door open, he turned and flopped face down on the bed, half his body dangling off the edge.


"uuuUUUUGH, why am I so stupid?!" He stayed there, lying face down on the bed muttering "stupid stupid stupid" to himself repeatedly.

Kino ran towards the guy on his mount. "When? Where? And where do I sign up?" Kino asked the guy. "Christmas Eve, 30th floor." He responded. "There will be four person teams, and the competitions fierce... Think you got the stuff?" The guy asked. Kino grew excited. "One moment please." Kino ran toward Jep, sliding onto his knees and putting his hands together. "Please Jep?!? Please please pleaaaassss? Its a team tournament. It'll be fun!!! Well get to show off our skills. Pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaassssseeeee?!??"
