Fandom Sword Art Online: The Front Lines

Hisashi had been watching the three of them through the window, using his strain to hear them.

He unlatched the window and jumped out, sinking a bit into the snow, before making his way towards the trio, his eyes focused on his player menu. When he caught up to the group, he stood to block Kino from further leaving the town, still focused on his menu.

"While I was up there I starting thinking, and I realized," he pulled up a square screen for the three of them to see, and images started to play on it.

"Since my nerveCam is wired to the gear and the game itself, I can't actually turn it on or off, but the video I've shot gets stored into my avatar information." He said, quietly as he turned his head so he didn't see the screen.

"See those four people? That's my brother, my sister, her boyfriend, who was my best friend, and my girlfriend. See the people surrounding us there? Red guild. None of my party made it out. Only reason I did was..." He stopped as a hand holding a teleport crystal showed up into the camera's view.

"Because I ran. I left their killers to run off while I got out of there as fast as I could. But, that's not good enough for you, right? No, you still think what I did back there was because I had it personal with Blood Ogre guy, right?" He spoke through gritted teeth as he swiped through the footage, and brought it to the night before, when he was still in the cave.

The video proved what he had said before, Hisashi only began to react whenever the man had threatened to kill the party.

Hisashi raised his hand and touched his right eye with a short chuckle. "Funny, even though it's a game, it feels like it still hurts."

He closed his eyes, and turned off the video, unable to see or hear it for any longer.

"I couldn't care less what he did to me, that wasn't important. Killing another human was never something I had wanted to do, and as long as I live, that'll haunt me, but watching the people I care about die a second time? I wasn't gonna let that happen again.

Yeah, I can "put myself in the shoes of that mans family" like you said. I've been there. So believe whatever shit you want Kino, I told you, I didn't want to do it, but I would do it again if I had to."

Hisashi stared down at the kid, his grey eyes cold and sad.

Kino watched the video like everyone else had. When it was through playing he turned to face Hisashi once more. His eyes were filled with tears, a few beginning to fall. He placed a hand on Hisashi's shoulder and looked down for a second to collect himself, but it was no use seeing as tears began falling right when he looked back up at his friend.

"What good does it do?" Kino asked. "What good does it do if we become the very people we hate?" He looked down. "I know you believe what you did was right, and maybe it was... But murder is murder. And I believe that..."Kino looked back up, a half smile on his face. "I believe that if we can show people... The kindness that we posses, and give them hope, then maybe we can show them the right way." He turned around, towards Main I and Jep. "But I guess it was just wishful thinking."

Kino turned to face Hisashi and gave him a small reassuring smile, before walking on, his hand brushing across his shoulder. "I'm going on a quest." Kino said, walking on. "But don't worry... I'll be back." Without turning around he raised an hand and waved, before exiting the town.

Hisashi rubbed his eyes where tears had begun to form. "What an unnecessary day. Remind me not to go through those videos again." He sighed, pulling up his face mask and his cloak's hood.

Hisashi then stuck his hands in his pockets and shook his head. "Y'know, I'm not gonna hole myself up in that tavern until this damn cursor changes. Screw that, I'm gonna find somewhere to grind for XP, and some Kol too. Either of you wanna join?" He asked, his voice slightly muffled from the mask.

He looked at the two in front of him.

"Kino will be fine. That kid could talk himself out of anything, I'm sure of it."

@Britt\-21

Maoni sighed as Kino and Hisashi had a brotherly-like moment. But that soon ended as kino left and left Jep, Hisashi and Maoni by the tavern. Soon enough, Hisashi was planning on going to "I'm okay. I dont need Kol or XP right now." Maoni walked over and placed her hand on his shoulder "I wish you luck. And when you have enough Kol, you should live on the same floor as I do..Its quite calm and comforting. Quiet too and decent climate." She hated the cold but she had to deal with it. Pulling her hand off from his shoulder, she walked away to go to the blacksmith

Hisashi pulled his mask down for no reason other than to smirk.

"What, me? Settle down and buy a house in Aincrad? Not likely." He called after Maoni, before turning back to Jepitha and nodding to him.

"See you around, I guess. I'm setting my eyes on a floor boss. When I'm strong enough to take one on, heh, floor 100's monster will be shivering at the sound of my name." He said wistfully, before walking off in search of monsters to fight.

Jepitha chuckled at Hisashis words of his future potential. "Good luck Hisashi. If you need any help, just send me a message." He said before Hisashi walked too far. He decided to head to the blacksmith too, his old equipment needed some repairs. He soon caught up to Maoni. "What a day huh?" He asked her, just to make some small talk.

@Britt\-21

Maoni looked at Jep and nodded "What a Day indeed." she agreed as her eyes looked ahead "I tried to stop him but I couldnt. Next time i'll be sure to stop him." shaking her head, she sighed "Anyway, are you comng with me to the Blacksmith?" if he was, most likely it was for armor since he didnt get materials from the boss like she did.

Jepitha nodded as he opened the door to the blacksmiths shop. "Yes I am. It's been a while I got this stuff repaired, and I can tell it's ready to break." He explained.

@Britt\-21

Maoni nodded "Ah, I see." she said as she walked in, looking around at the various armors and weapons "Man, it's always nice to walk into Blacksmiths. Just to see what they got in store too." Looking at Jep, she nodded to the person standing at the desk "You go first"

Jepitha shook his head before he said. "I need a second, you go do your thing first." He said to her before he started looking through his inventory again. He needed to see how much durability his old gladiator gear has left, the gear probably needed to be fixed anyway.

Maoni shrugged and walked up to the counter. Talking with the young girl and then pulling from her inventory the material to make one of the strongest swords in the game "This is what I got, for one of the best sword." the girl nodded and took the materials before putting it on her table to forge it while Maoni was ready to pay the large price for the sword. If it was a large cost..

Jepitha heard Maoni saying something about best sword in the game. He looked up at her with a raised eyebrow. "Well can you afford the price then? It sounds like you'll be broke if it's as expensive as you say it is."

@Britt\-21

"I'm not sure if it'll be that expensive. Having about 25,000 Kol helps me out a lot when it comes to expensive things. If anything I can always farm bosses and get more Kol that way." with a shrug, she watched as the sword was being forged "If you want I could probably have one made for you as well." Maoni then looked at him "But I dont think you're the sword type."

Jepitha nodded slowly at her comment. "25,000? Well damn little lady, better be careful carrying all that wealth on you, but I can tell your more then capable of protecting yourself." He chuckled slightly at her second comment as he closed his inventory. "Then what kind of guy do you see me as?" He asked her curiously.

@Britt\-21

"A ranged weapon user." Maoni then leaned on the counter "I can take care of myself though. I've been solo for a long while now so people trying to fight me is quite rare seeing as rumors went around for a few days but died down. Whenever I walked into a town, some people would whisper as I walked by and all that.. Not that I minded."

Jepitha chuckled at her before he looked over at her. "And I thought you know me. I'm more of the getting in your face and hit something hard enough to end a fight quickly... And good to know that I'm with a source of rumors. Welcome to the club."

Maoni raised her eyebrow "You had rumors going about you as well?" then again a lot of people like to spread all kinds of rumors. And it was never ending! "I guess we're that good to have rumors run around about us." looking back at the sowrd, her eyes seemed to glow as how nice and pretty badass it looked. "Woah, that is one sexy sword.."

Jepitha chuckled at Maonis comment about her sword. "Yeah, I've seen some pretty nice swords in my time, but that ones one of the sexier ones I've seen." He then looked down at his own katana. "And my rumors were of a brave white knight that slew a dragon. Which is true, my armor is made of white dragon scales." He added, thinking nows a good time to talk about his rumors.

@Britt\-21

Maoni looked back at Jep "Well that sounds like a nicely made Armor if its made from the white dragon scales. I heard thats some tough armor." It was true, looking back at her sword-which was brought to her- she was told the price and she nodded, handing over the money "3,000 KOL isnt that much..I thought it would be a lot more expensive. But I guess that is expensive to most people."

Jepitha chuckled at Maoni. "Well dint forget, some people are struggling to have enough money to buy some food for their bellies, let alone spending it on one of the best weapons in the game." He pointed out. "I have a little over 2,000 kol on me." He added.

@Britt\-21

"THat is true.." she said as she took her new sword and smiled at it. Knowing that now she had a strong sword. "Try getting the house I got. I was lucky I was left with this much Kol." she would have been poor but she was lucky enough to horde up money like crazy. In game money is what she horded most.

"What floor is your house on?" Jepitha asked her curiously. He walked to the counter and he told the blacksmith that he wanted all of his gear repaired. The blacksmith nodded before she started. To repai the gear silently.

Maoni had told him the floor she was on "It's quite a peaceful place." she added (idk what floor its on xD ) "You really dont have to deal with annoying people..Just think of it as a spa day or something. Thats how relaxing it is." I was true..she wanted to sleep all the time because there was nothing to fight with during the time

Jepitha nodded slowly. "Sounds rather relaxing. Sounds like my home I have. It's on level 35 I believe. It's a cabin set at the base the mountain that leads up to level 36. I get a message every time someone gets close to my home. Nowadays messages are very far in between." He said that last part softly, that part is actually demoralizing in Jepithas perspective. To him that shows that a lot of people are either dead, already passed level 35, or they've given up all together.

@Britt\-21

Maoni didnt really react to Jep's words but she did say something "More people are starting to vanish, huh?" shaking her head, she sighed as her sword was put onto her side. "Its a shame that this game is killing off innocent children and teenagers. This game was fun while it lasted but now it just turned into a horrible and murderous game."
