William rolled his eyes at Mac's initial reply, watching the outermost buildings of the Colony's interior roll by as part of the now-familiar route before they ended up outside the house. He watched Mac gather up her belongings silently, including her "contingency", which it still pained him to even look at. As Mackenzie asked him for permission, he smiled, leaning across the seat to run a hand through her hair before bringing his lips to hers. He pulled away just enough to speak. "Granted," he whispered, before grabbing the warded box and sliding across the bench seat and out of the Beast.

He made his way inside, looking around to see any sign of Ashley-May having made it back to the house. Seeing none, he set the warded box down on the table and turned to Mac. "You really think she's been at the Clinic this whole time? I don't even think she's scheduled to work today," he said.

Chase watched Morgan's reaction to his suggestion with suspicion as she looked about cautiously, carefully listening to the woman as she explained yet another thing about the pack he didn't know. Lying wasn't tolerated, and words got passed around rather quickly. Well it was good to know he was totally screwed when it came to Emile and Malcolm. Chase lied to them on multiple occasions, with Malcolm it was just about his daughter, but with Emile the list was a little longer. He chewed slightly at the inside of his cheek with a light frown, "Sorry, didn't realize what I was suggesting."

"Do you though?" He asked simply in a low voice, without stating the full question so if anyone did hear there wasn't anything to really tie the answer to. Chase couldn't help but wonder if Emile had ever asked her, or if it was simply expected considering the blood ties. If she chose not to answer he wouldn't push, it was more of a moment where she could be honest if she chose and know that he wouldn't be like the others of the pack and hold her to it or spread the word.

One part of her explanation had confused him momentarily, and Chase couldn't decide whether he was misinterpreting her words or if he'd gotten it right. "Back to the mate thing. You mean to tell me..." He regretted instantly going with this example but it was the simplest considering the recent conversation, "...if Emile suddenly says he wants to be my mate, I don't have a say-so?" Chase swallowed, doubting the words but if a Wolf chose someone was that the end of it? He assumed if that was the case most of the pack members asked permission before saying such words.

Mackenzie smiled against Will’s lips, happy to see he was able to at least put aside his feelings of discontent in regards to Mur. She was already sorting out a plan to deal with that demon, just for the sake of Will. She received permission and laughed a little as she exited the Beast through the driver’s side door; there wasn’t a point of locking it as Mac always considered it a safe house for herself or anyone else.

She followed Will into the house and frowned, “She didn’t have a shift today because she was supposed to go on that mission.” She set the items in her hand down on the table next to the box. After the encounter with Mur Mac was already on edge, not that Ash was missing. “I’ll go check at the clinic.” She was already turning to head back out the door, stiches forgotten.

Morgan regarded Chase carefully as he questioned whether or not she wanted to be Alpha, as much as she wanted to trust him like Emile did and many other members of the pack she couldn’t help but feel like his question was a set up. “I’m not sure, “She would just avoid answering him fully, “but I have lots of time before that’s even a consideration.” She frowned then as Chase assumed the worst of the Pack law.

“Short answer: no, no one would expect you to obey, and Uncle would never force anyone into anything they didn’t want.” He nodded towards Vitae, “He’s hell bent on freeing those from other people, remember? Long answer: traditionally, yes. He could declare you his mate and you’d be stuck. Only way out of that would be to challenge him and win, or have another prospective mate do it instead.” She gave a little smile, but continued. “An Alpha, in this pack at least, hasn’t done that in centuries, not since the old times.” She leaned in closer and spoke softly. “Did he make you any promises?” Once more interested in potential gossip.

William reached out to place his hand gently on Mac's wrist. "Oh no you don't. If you walk into the Clinic with your sutures torn and we both catch hell from Nurse Ratchet, not to mention a very hormonal Ashley-May."

He smiled, taking Mac's hand in his own. "I'd fight werewolves, demons, and gods for you in a heartbeat, but even I have limits." Will gestured to the couch. "Sutures first, then we can both head over to the Clinic together. Deal?"

fff_zps4rxngdyd.png

Chase gave a nod to her answer of whether she wanted to be Alpha or not. He'd half expected her to have made up her mind by this point but things do change and it was possible she'd never given enough thought to make a decision.

When Morgan spoke on the pack traditions, he rubbed at the back of his neck harshly. Chase didn't understand the reasoning for such things like mate claiming. He wondered briefly if Morgan wanted that from Brody or if she'd possibly one day take it into her own hands and say it herself. Just because an Alpha hadn't done it in a very long time didn't mean it didn't occur in the pack, that being said Emile seemed to be about free-will so he wondered if the Alpha would tolerate any kind of forced bond to begin with. "What about the humans? They'd clearly be at a disadvantage in trying to challenge it."

The female asked on any promises, leaning in, face clearly curious. With Emile clearly flirting with Chase it would seem Morgan had an interest in just how far the Alpha had gone, especially with the subject of promises being law. The only time Emile had said the word to him was just earlier, and for a moment Chase wondered if he should even say anything. Chase leaned towards Morgan nearly whispering, "Just that he'd keep my father safe when the time comes." With the recent talk it was clear the Emile had meant it and if Chase had any doubts that Emile would fulfill they would have evaporated.

Mackenzie paused feeling Will's hand at her wrist, she glance to it briefly before regarding him carefully. She wanted to protest, wanted to fight; she was worried about Ashley after their incident with Mur, but she had little doubt she was just being paranoid. After a moment she nodded, turning in the direction he wanted towards the couch, returning his hands squeeze before moving to assume their typical position. She crawled across the couch to lay on her stomach, reaching back to pull her shirt up but she stopped and hissed as the material hooked in an exposed suture. It was frustrating to no end that she was still recovering from her flight from Alliance. She was well aware of how close to death she had been but to be weakened like this was aggravating. She could only imagine how Eli felt about his current condition, at least she was up and walking.

Morgan frowned slightly hearing Chase's concerns with Pack Law and how it worked. She slowly shook her head. "I mean I don't think a human has ever challenged for a mate, and for that matter I haven't even heard another wolf challenging." She paused, the perked up as she thought about something. "I don't know if this is true or not, but I've seen it in the movies. You know the part when humans are getting married, and the guy, Priest asks if anyone knows a reason why not?" She watched him intently but didn't wait for him to answer. "It's like that. If they want to fight, then they can, but really it's a formality. Maybe in the olden days wolves used to fight each other for a mate, but not now. Two people just, find each other and either declare it or not. Uncle and his boyfriend were not declared mates, just... boyfriends." She gave a little shrug, hoping she wasn't making a mess of things for him.

Her smile broadened as she heard about Emile's promise to Chase about his father. "Awe!" She reached out and gave his arm and playful punch. "See? He does like you." She giggled, "I really hope you an help him with his English though, he won't listen to me, just barks in French until I speak it back to him. He does't have a choice with you."

Chase had done a fine job keeping himself grounded throughout the conversation until Morgan punched him and awe'd. Surely the small corner of whispering, Morgan's squeaks, and the interaction hadn't gone completely unnoticed by. That combined with Morgan's reaction set Chase to run a hand down his face to hide any potential blush that might have crept up. The whole situation was awkward, Chase wasn't used to being the oblivious one when it came to any type of relationship. Whether one night stands or something more it had always been either Chase making the advances towards the other man or more of a combined effort.

Morgan spoke on the Alpha's English language efforts and Chase rolled his eyes with humor at the thought, "I'll have to get him to stop using others to translate first. And I can help only so much without knowing French, I mean I tend to catch on to what he's saying and I've even learned a few words from his using them frequently. Or at least I assume I know what they mean." Chase shrugged, even through the language barrier emphasis was helpful in coming to a conclusion and Emile did that decently enough.

It was in this moment he had a small flashback to Vitae, just the other day he'd been talking to Ashley at a table eating and speaking on a similar topic. The two were rather similar in many ways, "You remind me of someone I know." He commented with a smile, eyeing her as if going through the list of similarities in his head. "You two would probably hit it off." Other than the fact that Morgan was a Werewolf and Chase assumed that would be a deal breaker for the blonde. "My dad had asked her to set me up with someone, behind my back mind you, but she's got a big mouth." Chase momentarily furrowed his brow in thought, "She's probably still searching the masses to do just that, as we speak."

Adelaide breathed a sigh of relief as she beheld the gates of Vitae through bleary, sleep-deprived eyes. Seeing figures atop the wall, she brought the compact to a stop outside, watching as a middle-aged man descended the wall on the other side. The gate swung open a moment later, just enough for the sentry to step through and approach. Adelaide rolled down her window, giving the man a weary smile.

"Afternoon, ma'am," the guard said with a polite nod, though she didn't miss his eyes roving the interior of the car. "Haven't seen you around here before. Are you expected?"

"Yes. My name is Adelaide Moreau, Councilman Hendrix is expecting me," Adele replied.

The man grunted noncommittally. "Wait here a moment." He reached into his pocket, pulling out his cell phone.

William saw Mackenzie's pained hiss and leaned over to help her, gently bringing the shirt up and over the snag before rolling it up -- with none of the initial awkwardness from days ago -- to expose all of the ripped sutures. Not all of them had torn, but enough to be a chore, not that he minded beyond despising the sight of Mac in pain. "Hold still, I'll be right back," he said quietly before heading to his room to grab the trauma kit, which would need restocking soon at this rate.

Pulling a chair alongside the sofa, he sat down at Mac's side and slid on a pair of latex gloves. He didn't have any of the heavy-duty narcotics the Clinic had handed out to Mac days earlier, so he settled for removing a small bottle of lidocaine that he kept on hand for occasions like this. Removing a fresh syringe from the kit, he extracted a some of the clear fluid and proceeded to methodically numb the tissue surrounding the sutures up and down her back, pressing the needle into the skin alongside the wound and administering a small amount of the agent in each area. It wasn't morphine, but it would likely take the edge off for her while he worked in addition to lessening the flow of blood. He followed up by wiping away the blood that had already seeped out, applying a disinfectant across much of her back -- she had avoided an infection so far and he wasn't about to take any chances.

Will removed the torn sutures before beginning the work of threading in new ones, drawing the flesh back together for what he hoped was the last time, as unlikely as that seemed. Finally, after several minutes of work, he finished up by placing several adhesive dressings over the sutures.

William stood, packing up his supplies and setting the old sutures and used equipment to the side before leaning down to brush Mac's hair back, placing a peck on her cheek. "All done. Now we can both face her without fearing for our lives," he said, deliberately leaving it a mystery whether he was referring to Ashley-May or Nurse Ratchet. Removing a pill bottle from the first aid kit, he opened it up and removed one large, plain tablet which he handed over to Mac. "Anti-inflammatory and it should help with the pain. Don't worry, it won't dope you up like the stuff the Clinic gave you."

Will felt his phone buzz in his pocket and removed it to see a text from Bart: Adalade Moreau at the front gates asking for you.

Smiling at the misspelling of his friend's name, William sent back a quick reply: Send her in. Direct her to the Clinic. Thanks. He then looked back at Mackenzie, "Adelaide's here," he said, trying to keep and even tone. "She'll meet us at the Clinic."

Morgan raised an eyebrow when Chase mentioned that she reminded him of someone. The second followed the first when he told her this person he reminded her of had a big mouth. She wasn't sure about human culture, but as a wolf, she was slightly offended. She understood that this person he was talking about must be inside the colony. "Well too bad for her, we've got you now." She said with a smirk, she was intent on teasing him further, she certainly had not missed the slight coloration on his cheeks when she had reacted to her Uncle's promise to him. It had been endearing to hear that Emile was reaching out again, though she wasn't certain if the one he was trying to reach would be receptive in the long run.

Emile and Malcolm soon joined them at the table, sitting across the way as some of the other wolves made way for them, they were speaking French to one another, but she didn't pay them much mind, she was far too distracted with the scent of food coming from her Uncle. She turned to glare at the man until he noted her, and after several seconds of the two glaring at one another Emile glanced the way of the cooks to check if the coast was clear before producing another napkin of stolen meat from his pocket, that cocky grin returned to his face.

Mackenzie remained still through Will's process; she knew the drill well enough. She was delightfully surprised to start to feel relief as he worked, a first for her, she had to look over her shoulder to see what he was doing. The small needle being embedded near the wound could only contain something that numbed and she was very thankful for it. Over the past few days she had grinned and bared the pain and discomfort that came with the wounds. Mac was never really one to complain unless she found it too unbearable and knew well enough when to ask for help, Ash called it a high pain threshold.

She settled once more, eyes closing as Will worked meticulously at her wound, rather awed by the whole thing. It was a wonder why the man even thought to be attracted to her, given how many mental blocks and personal demons she had to contend with. He soon finished, delivering a kiss on the cheek for good measure and she shifted to roll onto her side, letting the shirt fall back down her back. She looked at the pill he was offering, but would never question him. She took it, rising from the couch to go to the kitchen for some water but paused as he spoke. Adelaide. How had she forgotten that this was coming? Doing her best not to react poorly: she did not want to be that person, she gave Will a quick nod. "Okay, I'll take this and then we can head over." She said then continued on her path into the kitchen.

With that comment Chase went ahead and assumed Morgan was certainly the jealous type. As the other two men sought to join them at the table Chase couldn't help but just look between them in blatant confusion considering the French words. Likely being the only one at the current table to not understand what was said, even if it was obviously not meant for him in the first place.

"I get the feeling you were a horrible child." Chase remarked jokingly, nodding towards the napkin of food. Imagining a younger Emile doing the exact same thing, considering how well he did so. "You'll be full before the food is even done." He wasn't chastising but merely commenting, "Morgan's been filling me in on some of the more...general pack mannerisms." Chase sat forwards once again to put his elbows back onto the table, slouching slightly. Emile had wanted him to be more social, so he had.

Ginny makes her way to the practice range, hoping Solomon will come with her, though she's a bit curious about the man going into combat if he's in a wheelchair. It's not that she doesn't think he can, she just wonders how he's going to manage it.

She sets herself up at one of the targets, and takes a breath, figuring out how to load the gun fairly quickly. Truth be told, she doesn't like guns. She's always seen them as the weapons of hunters, of the enemy. But she's trying to live with them now, and that means finally learning how to use one of these things.

William watched Mackenzie uncertainly for a moment, wondering if the mention of Adelaide would faze her. He didn't see any obvious signs of dismay on her face as she stood up and headed to the kitchen. Regardless, he would know one way or another in a few minutes. On the bright side, he'd be able to fill her in on all the pertinent details at the same time he gave Ash and Elijah the news. He shook his head at the thought, not even able to take a guess at how his partner as well as his former lover would react to the news about his parents, not to mention Ashley-May's response considering her pregnancy with the very same being he had once been before Mur's intervention.

Once Mac had taken the pill, Hendrix made his way to the front door and opened it for her, having grabbed the bag containing the shoes she had purchased at the mall. Once they walked from the house and were on the way to the Clinic, he sighed. "I'm worried... about telling them. All of them. About Mur and... what I am." Will frowned. "Is that strange?"

upload_2017-6-28_23-46-49.jpeg
The man, who had given his name as "Bart", relaxed slightly at receiving the text. From outward appearances, he hadn't dropped his guard at all. However, Adelaide was able to feel the surface thoughts of sentry without even focusing her mind intently on the task. It was a part of conversation she had grown accustomed to over the years. It was how she knew the text he had received was from Will, which brought a sense of relief. Bart proceeded to give her directions to the Clinic, directing her to park at the nearby house. Thanking him, she shifted the Civic back into drive and headed through the gate as it opened, following the route Bart had described.

Spotting the house in the distance, she pulled around back, spotting Will's truck and pulling in alongside it. She turned to look at the various odds and ends in her backseat, biting her lip. They were all nondescript boxes, warded to the best of her ability. Her own belongings were in the trunk -- these were William's requested items. Deciding to leave them here for the time being, she climbed out of the car and locked up, heading in the direction of the Clinic.

Morgan had been quick to let her glare slide as the food was offered, ducking into the stolen meats without question. Emile feigned a look of shock to Chase, swiftly followed by a pout as though his feelings had been hurt. “C’est pas vrais.” He stated firmly. “I was an.. er. Altar Boy? At church. Right wit God.” He held his hands before him as though in prayer, “Until I was corrupted by sin and made the way I am now.” He grinned wolfishly at Chase.

Malcolm snorted, shaking his head. “And that’s enough of that for me.” He gave Chase an apologetic look. “Best of luck for you with this one, find me later if you need anything else translated.” He stood and left the table, moving towards where the rest of the pack was still talking.

Emile watched the Beta leave before returning his grin to Chase. “I hope she tell your truth. Not large story I have to fix later.” He had little doubt that Morgan would tell Chase anything but the truth; there was no point in lying to the newest pack member, spy or not. Emile certainly had nothing to hide.

Mackenzie soon followed Will out of the house, happy he remembered the gift as it had certainly slipped her mind. She walked with him the few feet when he spoke of his concerns. She frowned and paused; reaching to take is free hand and stop him too. “Hey,” She spoke softly, dark eyes looking up into soft grey ones. “It’s yours to keep, if you want.” She assured him. “It doesn’t change who you are, Will. Makes no difference because it means nothing but an origin. You now know where you came from, great, but that doesn’t alter anything of who you have become and why. And if any of them can’t handle it, then they’re not worth keeping around.”

She stepped closer, concerned. “If you don’t want to say anything, keeping it yourself, that’s fine too.” She slipped her other arm around his back, stepping in and elevating herself on her toes to give his lips a soft kiss. “You know I’ll say nothing, if that’s what you want.”

Chase doubted Emile was ever an avid church goer, "Are religious beliefs common in the pack?" The Beta left rather quickly, getting his fill of the Alpha's antics. Emile seemed ever so slightly concerned on what stories he'd been told. "Of course she did. I understand the finer aspects of offering a mammal's male reproductive organs as a proposal for marriage now." Chase kept a rather straight face to keep up the charade, though even he knew that was a reach for anyone to believe.

William was surprised to feel Mac take his hand, holding him up. He locked eyes with her as she spoke, a smile slowly replacing the concerned crease of his brow. He loved being there for her, to support Mackenzie physically and emotionally -- but it was a two-way street. He suspected she didn't know just how much he relied on her. As she placed her arm around him stood on her toes, he returned the kiss before nodding.

"Thank you, Mac. Really." He took a deep breath before continuing, "...But they should know. No more secrets. Whatever happens, we'll deal with it like we always do," he said with a smile, pulling her close and enveloping her in a hug. He knew he was likely overreacting -- Elijah had been through everything short of Hell and back at his side. He didn't see news about Will's parentage scaring him off, or Adelaide for that matter. Ashley-May he hadn't known nearly as long, but she hardly seemed like the type to judge -- even before the pregnancy. Releasing Mackenzie, he turned and continued toward the Clinic.

As they neared the front door, Will heard a familiar voice call out behind them. "Excuse me! I'm looking for a tall, broody Councilman. He owes me a hoodoo charm bag." William grinned as he turned around to see Adelaide jogging up behind them with a coy smile.

upload_2017-6-29_18-9-30.jpeg
Will stepped toward her and she embraced him in a hug before lifting her head to place a chaste kiss on his cheek. "It's good to see you," she murmured.

"You too, Addy," Will said, taking a step back before looking her over. "You look exhausted. Did you drive all night?"

Adelaide nodded sheepishly. "What was I supposed to do? You and Elijah sounded like you needed me, so I came running."

Will shook his head, before turning to gesture towards Mackenzie. "Adelaide, this is Mackenzie Canonach..." he didn't know how to introduce her. Fellow Hunter? Friend? The woman he was willing to fight gods and demons for? In the end, the word rolled off his tongue easier than he'd expected, "...my girlfriend. She's a Hunter -- a legacy, like Elijah."

Adelaide showed no visible signs of surprise at the news about the woman -- the affection William felt for her was practically permeable, even in the few surface thoughts she had managed to glean during her approach. What surprised her was term he used. He was fairly certain he had never referred to herself that way, though she wasn't jealous of the fact. She had accepted the idea that Will would move on and find other lovers as all Hunters did, but she could tell the way he felt about her was different. This was no fling, no "blowing off steam".

Without hesitation, Adelaide stepped forward and offered Mackenzie her hand. "Pleasure to meet you."

Emile slowly shook his head, as Chase questioned the religious aspect of the pack, "Non, pas mois ou Morgan, but others yes." He paused and frowned, tilting his head aside as Chase filled him in on what Morgan had explained to him. He hadn't a clue what the hunter was saying eyes drifted to Morgan who looked stunned. Now choking on the stolen food she had turned a deep shade of red. Wide eyes turned to Chase to blink several times at the man's calm features. "Que dit-il?"

Morgan didn't turn away from Chase, answering Emile. "Il a déclaré que la demande en mariage est un appendice mâle."

Emile was still frowning, looking from Morgan to Chase and back again, at first uncertain but then a slow smile crept across his face and he tossing his head back laughing, hand coming down to hit the table top, making several of the pack members around jump from being startled. "Comment dit-on, err. You wish."

Morgan was far less than impressed with the turn to the awkward conversation with her uncle, still blushing furiously she snatched the remaining food and stalked her way back to the pack and Brody.

Mackenzie once more felt the warm glow through her as she heard Will thank her, for what she would never know or understand. She would do anything for him, lie to Ash if she needed to, even if it pained her every day it would be worth it. She had to admit there was a little relief when he said he would still go on with it; while she would move mountains to make sure he was happy, she did not want to lose Ash as her partner, not at a time like this. She nodded then, heading to the clinic at his side. The persona calling from behind could only be one body, and she turned to face her fears.

Why she had thought that maybe this other woman would homely she had no idea, of course Will would have been attracted to a beauty like Adelaide; hell she certainly was. Something within stung as she watched the two embrace, she knew she shouldn't feel anything - Will had made it clear that they two had been over for some time and that they had grown apart but it still dug at her seeing their easy closeness while she was ... well her.

Will started his introduction of her, expecting the typical way people met her. Hunter. Psycho. Hellbent on getting herself killed. Girlfriend. She blinked, eyes shifting from Adelaide to Will with surprise; that was not a title she had thought she would hear and it took several seconds for her to realize the woman was speaking to her. She looked back at Adelaide and nodded slowly. "Nice to meet you too." She accepted the extended hand rather awkwardly and shaking it. "Will's told me great things about you." That's what people say, right? When they meet someone they don't want to meet? She hadn't a clue what she was doing.

"Will's told me great things about you."

Adele smiled at the statement. "Then you must have mellowed him out some," she teased. She took a moment to look Mackenzie up and down. She didn't pretend to know Will's taste in women from their brief time spent together, but there was no denying that Mackenzie was an attractive woman. However, it wasn't her physical features that had caught Adelaide's attention... it was the fact that Adelaide couldn't read her. No surface thoughts passed through the air between them for her to pick up on, and even when she subconsciously focused her efforts Mackenzie remained completely unreadable. The number of times Adelaide had encountered someone -- or something -- capable of nullifying her gift could be counted on one hand. So there was more to Will's girlfriend than met the eye; she considered dipping into Will's subconscious to try and determine what that was, but immediately shut the idea down. She had "rules", such as they were, and tried to keep invasive mind-reading to a minimum, especially among friends.

Will shook his head at her statement, gesturing for her to follow. "C'mon, Elijah will be glad to see you. And I told you I'd reimburse you for that charm bag... some day."

"Uh-huh," Adele remarked dubiously. She frowned, "Elijah's at the Clinic? Is everything okay?"

Will raised a placating hand. "Don't worry, he's stable. He was injured pretty badly a few days ago, been laid up ever since. I'll fill you in later."

Adelaide nodded tentatively, following behind William as they reached the Clinic entrance, proceeding into the front entrance. Will spotted Nurse Ratchet at the nurse's station and cast his eyes to the floor, unable to meet her glare. Adele picked up on that particular bit of body language and followed suit even before she felt the waves off vague hostility radiating off the woman. Reaching Elijah's room, Will quietly knocked twice but received no response. Frowning, he opened the door slightly and peeked inside to see the reason for the silence: both were resting peacefully, Elijah in his bed and Ashley-May in a chair at his side, paperwork strewn around her. With a smirk he turned around to wave Mackenzie forward so she could see the scene.

Mackenzie was surprised that Eli's condition hadn't come up with Will had called Adelaide for help, though she wouldn't remark. She followed in behind the two into the clinic, choosing not to even acknowledge Nurse Rachet; it was far easier living that way. She paused at the door and waited for Will to step in, but when he received no answer her heart leaped into throat. Will was smirking, which only confused her further, but he moved aside so she could peak into the room and she moved forward without hesitation.

She had to look over the scene twice before she understood exactly what she was seeing. Now we know why she told Eli first. She stepped back from the door and closed it quietly, a slow smile coming across her lips. "She works fast, doesn't she." She laughed quietly, "And after she gave us shit about the living room." She was aware that Adelaide wouldn't know what she was talking about, but she didn't feel the need to elaborate; Will could later if he wanted to. "So do we wake them?"

When Emile didn't react Chase assumed the joke had been lost in translation. The real humor hit when he looked at Morgan who had immediately started choking on her food and turning red. The man forced to bite his lip to prevent from laughing. When Emile started, for what Chase assumed was the translation, Chase assumed it was over and Morgan was simply going to tell him what she'd actually explained. But to his surprise, Emile's reaction told him she'd done the opposite.

Chase kept his composure until Morgan left looking rather embarrassed and not amused. "I'm going to have to apologize to her later." He spoke whilst chuckling and turning to look back at Emile. What was meant as a simple joke had turned into a larger debacle thanks to the language barrier. "This table just keeps losing it's members." He remarked at the empty seats where Malcolm and Morgan once were. Chase's conversation with the mans niece hadn't been forgotten so quickly, "So, Mr. Sinning altar boy. She actually explained a few of the differences between human and wolf...culture. Like how someone's word means much more here, and to more or less be careful how you use the word mate."

William raised his eyebrows at Mackenzie's implication about the nature of Elijah and Ashley-May's relationship. Admittedly, the scene in the hospital room looked more than a little suspect. He was well aware of Elijah's relentless flirtations, but he hadn't expected him to pursue Ashley-May. He noticed him showing any "interest" in her... until lately. It was hardly his usual repertoire of shameless pick-up lines and flattery, but the man had leapt to Ashley's defense when Mac accused him of harboring more secrets. Not to mention his agreement to the plan to keep both safe the night of the attack. Will made a mental note to pick his brain later on.

Adelaide had taken a bemused glance inside as well and -- between the scene and Will's thoughts -- put two and two together. She was hardly surprised at the notion of Elijah taking up with any woman, but something genuine and long-lasting coming of it would be news to her.

Will nodded to Mac's question. "As much as I hate to ruin their beauty sleep, we need to have this discussion sooner rather than later." Of course, that didn't mean they couldn't have a little fun with them. Stepping quietly into the room, he crept forward to the foot of Elijah's bed, just a few feet away from where Ashley-May sat asleep. Taking a deep breath, he cleared his throat as loudly as possible. Once he was sure they were both awake, he shook his head with faux disapproval. "Leave you kids alone for a couple of hours and this happens. Next time we'll have to assign a chaperone."

Adelaide smiled at the scene, not used to William being so willing to show his lighthearted side. She stepped into the room. "Not it."

Elijah had nearly leaped out of his skin as his drug-induced slumber was interrupted by William. His eyes snapped open as he took in his surroundings, finally settling his glare on the culprit. That look of anger only intensified at Will's remark. He was surprised to see Ashley-May still sitting at his bedside with a blanket. He felt a surge of warmth at the knowledge that she had been watching over him while he slept, even as the knowledge caused him to shift uncomfortably on the bed.

At the sight of Adelaide entering, Eli's anger and awkwardness was momentarily forgotten as he smiled broadly at the woman. "Lucy! You're a sight for sore eyes."

Adelaide smiled, stepping forward and leaning down to give Elijah a peck on the cheek before looking over him with obvious worry. Elijah waved her concern away. "Don't worry. I might not be up and at it, but I'm not dying anytime soon thanks to Ashley-May," he said, nodding toward her.

Adelaide turned to acknowledge the young woman, once again offering her hand with a smile. "Adelaide Moreau."

Andy isn't known for cursing out loud but this time she had to, "S***!" The hot coffee she was giving to a customer at the coffee place where she worked spilt over hear hand. She couldn't feel much of the pain but instantly regretted it when the customer gave a worried look but not at Andy, at her boss staring at Andy. "I'm so sorry for that, let me make you another one." She continued to make another one, but can't help but to listen in on someone's conversation. Andy was still trying to get to know the faces around the small town but knew that this person wasn't from here. Must be another hunter passing through....

After her shift she made her way out of the building hearing a few murmurs from around the place, things have gone weird the past few months. More hunters coming in is never a good sign, especially for someone that isn't with their pack. She pulled out her phone to text Joe, 'Hey listen, do you think we can catch up?' She leaves her phone in her jacket pocket listening to her music walking down the streets.

After his talk earlier in the day with Chase, Joe had decided to get his crap together. Likely because the talk made it clear the plan was going well so far, not that he'd stop worrying, but at the very least he'd stop acting like how his son did when Chase was younger and not let in on each and every hunt. Joe knew his attitude needed to change to a more grit and bear at least when it came to Mackenzie and William, fact was they were the linked to the plan and if Joe was to get any information on Chase or said plan he'd have to speak with them instead of acting like a man who was in his late seventies and yelling at kids to get the hell of his lawn.

The older man was speaking to some of the other hunters and civilian's when his phone buzzed. Joe held up a finger with a smile to excuse himself and step away, assuming it could be Chase. Instead it was a name he hadn't heard from in a while. Andy, a young werewolf who was the niece of a man he owed a debt that could only be paid through making sure the girl didn't end up in a gutter or go feral. Chase knew of her, but not about her uncle or the reason Joe had accidentally put them on some random Werewolf's trail one day years ago.

Joe paused whilst reading the text. It was difficult to understand if she wanted to just make sure before calling or if she wanted to meet up. Joe had mentioned that both he and Chase would be checking out the Vitae Colony which was only a few towns over from where she lived before they arrived in Nebraska themselves. Seeking to warn her of what would be increased hunter activity in the area. Though Joe hadn't confirmed whether they'd decided to stay in the area or not. One thing he suddenly became aware of was that with the recent alliance of packs in the area that she could get caught up in everything.

You okay? What did you have in mind? It was a simple reply to her text.

Emile continued to chuckle as Chase stated he would have to apologize to Morgan," She will be bien se." He wiped at the tears in his eyes as he started to regain control. It did not surprise him that the rest of the table had left; it was part in parcel of the reason why he enjoyed Chase's company, why the man interested him at all. His scathing humor, when he could understand it, was a relief to Malcolm's almost always stoic behavior.

Chase continued on about what Morgan had actually told him and he nodded. "Oui," He paused, raising an eyebrow, sly smile crossing his lips. "You make this promise? You promise to be someone mate?" He knew the man hadn't, and even if he had accidentally it wouldn't be like the pack for force anyone into something they didn't wish. He was glad to know that Chase was able to connect with his niece to talk 'shop'. He knew he needed someone, who spoke English, that could give him the in's an outs' without feeling like he was imposing.

Mackenzie watched with interest as Will stepped into the room. It wasn't clear with his intentions were until he was at the foot of the bed watching the events unfold before her. To say that she was delighted at Eli's reaction would be an extreme understatement; she had wanted to torture the man just earlier that day, but had held back for fear of making his situation worse. This pay back was beautiful to watch, only slightly unfortunate that Ash was swept up into it, but after her act on the couch the night before, she would consider it all even now. She grinned stepping into the room and aside to lean against the wall.

Ashley-May had been dead asleep when Will cleared this throat, though that was not what had startled her. She had woken, slowly, it was Elijah's jump that scared her. She shifted in the chair, papers skittering across the floor as she blinked and attempting to make sense of what was going on. After a few seconds, and witnessing Mac's grin, she got a clear sense of what just had happened. With a huff of discontent she started collecting her lost papers when she heard a new voice. She turned as Eli was introducing her to another woman. "Hi," She smiled, shaking the otherwoman's hand. "Welcome to Vitae." She finally gathered her work and started re-organizing it. "Don't think this is common place." She said, smiling pleasantly at Adelaide. "He only wakes people up like that after they've caught him having sex in public."

Thor barely could contain his laugh when the human called Eddie tried to come in and help him with a revolver, not knowing that it would be pointless, he did however respect his warrior spirit. And he proved to be a perfect distraction. The two Leviathans closer to the door turned around to see who spoke, the god however wasted no time and by the time they had turned their attention back to him it was too late. Thor feigned to aim a punch at the one on the right, only to at the very last second change it's direction and instead let the full force of the blow strike the Leviathan standing to the left, hitting it right in the temple. Quickly he grabbed the shoulders of the other Leviathan and kneed it twice so that it leaned forward, before slamming his elbow into the beast's back, sending it into the stone floor with a moan. The one on the left struck him in the side with a right hook, but before he could return the favor, the leader came and grabbed him from behind. Locking both his arms in a position behind his back.

This was exactly what Thor had waited for, the deity jerked his arms up violently, breaking free of the Leviathan's grip. Quickly, he raised his arm and pointed it at the ceiling, using telekinesis to shatter the water pipe, which in turn resulted in that water poured down on all of them. Thor smiled as he slammed his hand into the floor, a hand that was now surrounded by lightning. The entire building shook and plants fell off their shelves due to the power of the attack, the eletricity spread in every direction in the water, reaching the Leviathans simultaneously, stunning all three of them. A feat that would have been much harder if he had been unable to utilize the properties of water to attack all three with one attack.

Thor quickly lunged forward and yanked off the amulet that protected the one who wore it from magic from one of the Leviathans and yelled "Kyrrstöðu!", causing it to fall to the ground, paralyzed. The Leviathan he had previously knocked down was now recovering from the lightning attack and had gotten up on one knee, Thor quickly advanced on him, it threw a punch with it's right arm, but Thor caught the arm by the wrist with his left hand and twisted it, breaking it and dislocating the arm. He then placed his right hand on the left side of the Leviathan's head, before yanking it furiously to the right, ripping it off with a wet tearing sound. The body collapsed and the head rolled away a meter, but just to be sure he kicked it away a bit further.

As he turned around, the leader of the Leviathans had fully recovered, and unleashed a furious flurry of attacks against him, sending Thor reeling backwards at it struck his body, his face, his legs. The god managed to recover from the initial suprise and blocked a left hook with his right elbow, and parried a jab with his left hand, before shoving it back with both his hands.

Growling, Thor spat out some blood and said "Let's finish this.", the Leviathan roared and charged. Thor did the same. The Leviathan lunged with a punch, but the deity ducked, effectively dodging it, striking the beast with a hook in it's side and following that up with an uppercut with his right arm, striking it on it's chin. The Leviathan lunged forward and grabbed Thor's throat with his right hand, trying to twist his head around to break the neck. Thor grabbed the Leviathan's hand with his left one, trying to pry it away, whilst grabbing the Leviathan by the throat with his own right hand. Slowly, Thor twisted the Leviathan's hand away from his throat, much to it's disbelief. Both beings growling from the effort that the struggle required. Once he had pulled the Leviathan's hand sufficiently far away from his throat, he kicked it in the side of it's knee, bringing it down on one knee. Still holding it restrained by the throat, with the Leviathan using both hands to try to remove his hand, Thor punched it repeatedly in the face, the mighty blows resulting in that Thor's fist was soon smeared with black blood.

Deciding that it was time to finish the fight, not letting go of the grip around the Leviathan's throat, Thor hauled the Leviathan up in the air using only his right arm, it's legs kicking wildly, but in vain. The deity walked forward and slammed the Leviathan into the desk, so that his head hung over the edge and raised his hand above his head, fingers straightened. He then let go of it's throat and grabbed it by the collar of his suit instead. The Leviathan realised what was happening and began struggling more fiercely, but it was too late, Thor brought down his hand like and axe and struck it right in the neck below the head, the force severing the head from it's body.

Thor placed the head in a plastic bag as the body slided off the desk and hit the floor. Placing the second head in the same bag. He then made a sweeping gesture with his hand over himself, and in an instant, there was no sign of any struggle. The blood was gone, and so was his bruises. As the god picked up the paralyzed Leviathan and threw him over the shoulder he said "I think we're done here, lets move before anyone else comes.", trying to make it out like the fight had been easier than it acually had been. Not that he minded a challenge though, knowing how powerful these creatures were he was happy with the outcome. But it would be better if the humans saw him as invincible, so he could give them hope and heighten their morale.

Outside a storm was raging, as a result of the power that he emanated when he battled, the deity briefly closed his eyes as he focused his power to calm it, forcing it to subside.

William and Adelaide both froze at Ashley-May's casual statement. Even Elijah was shocked at the bold remark. Will's jaw clenched as he felt his face flush deeply, wanting to protest that Ash was exaggerating, but unable to speak a word. Adelaide's eyebrows had shot up, her mouth forming an "O" of surprise before curving into a devilish grin as she laughed aloud. "Thanks for the reassurance. It's good to see Will has people here that are able to keep him... humble." She put two and two together based on what Mackenzie had said in the hallway about an incident involving the living room. More than anything, she was surprised: PDA hadn't been Will's thing when they were "together". Apparently that must have changed, not to mention his expanding circle of those he was willing to trust enough to get close.

"And thank you for keeping this one alive," Moreau said, gesturing toward Elijah. "He can be a pain, but every now and then having him around pays off," she teased, turning to give the man a wink.

Elijah rolled his eyes in response. "Glad to be of service," he muttered.

Adelaide took a moment to glance back at Ashley-May, reaching out passively with her mind. She certainly seemed to be Elijah's type, though she was surprised that he didn't seem to have admitted that to himself just yet. The Brit dancing around a woman, lacking the courage to make the first move was... different. Maybe in a good way. Adele paused, eyes widening in surprise as she looked at Ash, having felt something she didn't expect. She was speaking before she could stop herself. "Congratulations!" she exclaimed. "At least, I hope congratulations are in order," she added sheepishly, hoping that the others in the room were aware of the pregnancy. Her concerns about impromptu surprise-spoiling were pushed aside as she came to realize that the budding life was... different. She couldn't place it, but it was unlike any presence she'd ever felt.

"Very smooth," Elijah remarked with a shake of his head.
