Chase's sudden pause to stare into the forest -- presumably at some stimulus that was completely lost on Will's inferior senses -- had Will going for his gun until he saw Chase suddenly relax.

After Mac finished, William nodded his agreement. "You've given us more than enough to go on for now. Toe the line if you need to. We'll do everything we can on our end to track down whoever the Pack might have inside Vitae..." He took a deep breath. "And to see what we can dig up on the First Sin. We'll do it quietly, so that whoever the infiltrator is they don't feed the information we're using back to Emile."

Chase could see that his momentary distraction didn't go unnoticed. They were both nudging him to go back, "You guys should probably know they know you're friends, dunno about together." He honed in on Will with his eyes, "They do think that you are the one who forced me out of the colony, but that you also gave me the chance to run rather than just end me. They're calling you the faux Alpha because of the pan trial. A few," His eyes would switch targets to Mac. "Aren't too happy about that, including Brody."

"Speaking of which, during that hunt Elijah injured both of your brothers. The other one...Doug? He was sent back to Borseti, but he's a wolf so he'll heal. But same case, both you boys are known to the pack." It was hard to really gauge if Mackenzie would have worried at the comment about her brother or not but Chase reassured either way. It was clear they were wrapping this meeting up so he considered anything else he should mention, "I told them you were Vitae's Oracle, it was information they didn't have yet and it gained trust. Not that they really liked how many wolves you'd killed to begin with. And uh...your dad asked about you, how you were and stuff." Chase shrugged, "I feigned barely knowing you." Not that it was a total lie really, "It didn't take wolf senses to tell he was worried."

Mackenzie frowned hearing the pack called Will the fake Alpha, that Brody was among those that were displeased. She arched an eyebrow hearing Doug had been sent home to heal, that he had been injured. The fact that he was injured wasn't what bothered her, it was the fact that she cared that he was hurt, that she wanted to know if he was well, or would do okay. She fought the want to inquire on his behalf but Chase continued on stating that her father was asking of her. A man she had not seen in twenty years, the wolf in twelve. She looked away, dark eyes focused on the ground before her. "Good, give them whatever you need to keep them that way." She said as steadily as possible. "They likely have a mole in Vitae; no one knew I was the Oracle except a few select so who ever is feeding them information isn't on the Council." She regarded him once more. "Do you need us to do anything for Joe? Tell him anything?"

William's face remained impassive as Chase informed them that both he and Elijah were not exactly favorites of the Pack. The information didn't surprise him -- Pan had forced them to work together during the Trial. Them finding out that their temporary "Alpha" had been nothing more than a human under the power of that same god likely struck a nerve or two. Will, however, was more worried about Elijah. They had his scent and now more of a reason than ever to hunt him down for injuring their packmate. If Will had had any lingering doubts about Mac's plan to send him away with Ash the night of the attack, they were dispelled.

Where Mackenzie was concerned, Will had closely watched her reaction to Chase's news about her family. He could tell she was straining to feign detached disinterest in them, trying to focus on the task at hand. William couldn't imagine the emotions that boiled to the surface at their mention, knowing they were near and asking about her... but it was a discussion they could have later.

William allowed Mackenzie to finish with her own question before adding his own: "Did the Pack give you any grief about leaving to come here? You think you'll be able to get away again in the future without raising too many suspicions?"

A bump caused Eddie to wake up in something of a panic. He quickly reached his hand into his backpack, before looking around and remembering where he was. A sigh of relief escaped as he pulled his hand out, leaving whatever he was reaching for inside. Putting a hand on his heart, he looked out the window.
"We're home already? Maybe after you guys find who you're looking for I can show you around."
He said. Trying to play off his momentary panic. Alator Alator NanLia NanLia

Chase noticed Mac moving the conversation along, he guessed it was either something she didn't want to hear or she'd wait until he was gone to really react or speak to Will about it. He shook his head at her question but smiled in appreciation, "No, we spoke on the phone. Hence how he knew to drop a bag with his shorts in your truck before you left, I needed his scent on me to make them believe he's the one I went off to meet." It also partially answered William's own question, "Though I'm a bit jealous he gets breakfast and I get nadda."

Chase's arms uncrossed as he continued answering, "Like I said the Alpha told me I was free to come and go as I pleased. I don't really have restrictions, surprisingly. Can't tell if it's a good thing or not. I can get away but we should limit the meetings after this, only when necessary. Just in case, I only wanted to do this one because of how much information I needed to get to you and the quicker you got it the more good it would do."

The man started backing up slowly towards the tree, "It's a long run back and I have to get there before...well they're throwing a party...or dinner, something like that as a welcoming?" He shrugged his shoulders, "If I'm not there for my own feast what would they think?" He added jokingly as he rounded the tree, seconds later the shorts would be tossed back out and onto the bag. "Their mole is most likely human by the way. I doubt they could have hidden their scent from me the entire time I was in Vitae, and I never caught the scent of another wolf or otherwise inside it's walls." Not entirely true, there'd been the one vampire but she'd assisted in killing the Wolves so the mole certainly wasn't her.

Christopher glanced momentarily at Eddie as he came around, he watched the mans hand dip into his backpack with worry, but when it returned with nothing Chris relaxed slightly; after all this man was an unknown hitchhiker - gods only know what he could do at any time. Chris gave the man a slow smile and a nod. "Sure, you got a phone number Eddie?" He asked, grabbing his from the center console of his SUV and handing it to Eddie to program in. "You ever come across anything ... strange, feel free to give me a call, we can help you sort it out, alright?" He didn't want to leave the man alone with the new news of Supernatural things being real and not a hoax.

Mackenzie tilted her head aside as the man started to retreat behind the bush, a little affronted by his comments about breakfast but the man was getting a feast prepared for him as they spoke. She didn't understand the retreat until she clued in he was going to strip to shift into a wolf and she looked away, choosing them to lay back along the bench of the seat, letting her legs stretch out, feet resting on the grass. "Next time I'll bring you a Queues de castors so they can know for sure you're speaking to me and kill you, alright?" She said rather sarcastically. She had figured he had been in contact with Joe, but she idly wondered if they has spoken as freely as Chase would have liked. All the better she didn't have to meet up with him again, she dreaded the idea of being scolding a second time in one day by the older man.

"They're giving you a... feast?" Will remarked flatly, more a statement than a question. He shook his head incredulously as he turned to the side to give Chase some measure of privacy while he changed.

William was rather surprised by the picture Chase was painting of the Pack. It didn't match the image he had built up in his mind. He had planned for rigid control of Chase's movements, distrust, and general wariness. Instead they had seemingly welcomed him with open arms while maintaining a fairly lenient attitude toward the newcomer. Hearing Mac's comment, Will grinned, turning to see her laying casually on the bench sea before returning his attention to Chase, still keeping his eyes clear of the treeline.

"We'll do everything we can to find the mole on our end. Don't worry about pushing for anymore information about him in the meantime, even indirectly. We'll handle it." Will didn't want to sound like he was patronizing the man, but he wanted to get the point thoroughly across. He was already endangering himself enough at their behest... he didn't owe them any additional favors trying to make their jobs easier.

Chase rolled his eyes from behind the tree at their comments. "Yeah, well where is the fun in letting you guys do all the work? I'm doing my part and I'm doing it damn well." Chase smirked at the sarcastic comment though it slowly faded, he wouldn't admit that being around the other wolves was starting to feel more natural, that his part wasn't hard because it was second nature. It was weird how different it felt, being here and being there, like he was two different people but neither was a lie or a cover.

"Good luck with that. Now if you'll excuse me I've got an hour long run ahead of me." He called out one last time before he crouched down and shifted. The wolf stepping out from behind the tree and giving a shake of his fur along with a grunt as he situated himself in his new skin. Chase's sharp amber eyes would look at the two in a final moment before turning and walking the opposite direction, deeper into the trees.

Mackenzie didn't need to sit up to know Chase was rolling his eyes, she remained in her rather relaxed position dark eyes peering at the stained ceiling above her considering their options. They needed to figure out who the hunter in the colony was wanting to leave -and likely their mole. Whether or not he Council knew about the First Sin and Apocalypse and if they were intentionally withholding it from the colony and she needed to contact Franklin to see if he knew of any Nest's working with the Pack. He would be the best source for that, the vampire had eyes everywhere but she dreaded the thought of calling him again.

She waited until she heard the wolf leaving, or at least assumed he was gone since he no longer spoke before speaking up herself. "And your take on all of this?

William watched as Chase -- now in his wolf form -- shook out the kinks. The sight brought back incomplete but nonetheless unpleasant memories of his own brief time in the body of a lupine predator. He gave a nod and a wave to him before he turned to pad into the forest. Will spun on his heel, moving back to the driver side of the Beast, opening the door just as Mackenzie spoke up.

"And your take on all of this?"

Will slid into onto the bench seat just next to Mac's head, so that he was staring down at her. He reached down to run his fingers idly through her hair. "Which part? The mole, the mystery Apocalypse, or the Pack apparently being more welcoming than your average college frat house?" he asked with a smirk.

Solomon couldn't help but give a strained smile at Sandy's question. " Well, they are more than willing to help me find the book, after the Pack is dealt with, but I don't think Angela likes me too much. I think I scared her a little bit when I offered to help with the Colony's defense against the Pack. I offered to call some support from a.... friend of mine. I don't think she appreciated the offer. Either way I'm going to do what I can to help. Even if that means just resting." Solomon explained as Sandy took over the driving of his chair. Well all that was left for him to do was rest, gather his strength and wait to here from the Council.

Hypnos had his hands full within the Underworld trying to reinforce the abyss gate with his magic. While he was trying to make sure he didn't use too much power it was still quite draining. As such he hadn't sent any more visions leaving his Oracle wholly ignorant. While he had done all he could with the gate for now next was the matter with Vitae. There was only so much they could know at the moment, the existence of the seals, the locations of said seals, the end game. It was all about the timing of the information release. Hypnos would have to wait till nightfall before doing anything at this point. He could no longer afford to saunter about in the sun as he had been. However what he could do was guarantee his Oracle's safety, even at the cost of his own security. Metus or Dread. One of the beasts who stalk prey in the darkness of Erebos. While it would cause a feeling of well dread to those near it Hypnos couldn't simply rely on her passive hypnotism to protect her. Metus would guarantee her safety while he was stuck unable to help during the day.

Sandy gave Solomon an appreciative smile. "Well you tried." She offered, she had never known Angela to be frightened of anything; she could not possibly fathom what Solomon had shown the Medical Councilmen that would scare her. "At the very least they will help you find your book." She said taking him out of the Command tent and starting to head back to the Clinic, but she paused. "I don't need to have you back right away, anywhere in particular you want to go instead?" She asked with a smile. "At least inside the Colonies walls?"

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie smirked and peered up at Will and his sarcasm, it was more than worrisome that the pack seemed to have an open invitation to whomever wanted to join, and it didn't seem like it was limited to wolves only, but humans too. As much as she wanted to ignore this, move past it and on with their day and 'date' it needed to be discussed. "I guess we'll start with the First Sin and Apocalypse." She stated with a sigh, but had no intention of moving from her relaxed position, enjoying his gentle caresses too much. "That we can dig out of Brendan. I can make up a 'vision' that I received out this afternoon, make up some things since none of them are Oracles, they can't really say I'm lying. Ask them if they have a plan moving forward? Or I could call them on their bluff, tell them I know that they are aware of it? That Hypnos told me so?"

Ginny smiles, having walked around long enough to know what's where. Still, she'd like to talk to someone, figure things out on a personal level. She's going to have to fight with these people, so she should get to know them.

Solomon thought for a moment. No place in particular sprang to mind when Sandy asked the question. " I'm no too sure... really anywhere that isn't a hospital or the like." Solomon said with a laugh, " Got anywhere I can get some bullets? An idea just occurred to me." Solomon asked looking ahead of wherever Sandy was taking him. As he watched the surrounding he noted several people going about their business. One of which was a woman who seemed particularly lost.

Deimos or Dread as the humans tended to call him was given quite the strange request from his fellow resident Hypnos. The son of Ares was quite perplexed as to why Hypnos wanted to follow around and protect a human girl, perhaps she was a fling in the waiting he didn't know, but he respected the God of sleep well enough and it's not like he was doing anything else so the beast went to the human world following the smell he had been given by the drowsy god. As such when the beast lumbered into the human world he did so right in the middle of whatever she was doing. Which was apparently talking to a human and a werewolf. Well it's not like any of them could see him.
It was right after that thought that Deimos noticed the strange feeling surrounding the girl. The Beast huffed as he approached the girl, sniffing her to make sure it was this Mackenzie Hypnos was so keen on protecting. " So he sent me to guard his Oracle? " Deimos muttered to himself as he looked the girl over. The fact that she could see him didn't really occur to him.

William stared out the windshield at the treeline as he mulled over the two courses of action Mackenzie had laid out, continuing to run his hand fingers through her hair. "As much as I'd like to stay on the Council's good side, they have no reason to be straightforward with either of us if you approach them with a 'vision'... especially since at least some of them aren't your biggest fans," he said with faint disdain as his thoughts drifted toward those who had voted against Mac at the meeting. "They didn't take this 'mole' seriously, they might try to stick their heads in the sand with us, too."

Will sighed, his thumb gliding across Mac's cheek as he looked down at her. "We may need to go with a more direct approach here. Put them on the defensive. It's still a risk if things don't go our way, but..." he shrugged. "What do you think?"

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie considered the option of simply confronting the Council; while it was certainly her style she wanted to make sure if they walked in there gun's blazing they would be able to be countered. She tilted her head aside so he could kiss his wandering thumb with a smile, it was hard to focus on the task at hand with this proximity, but it was certainly something she was going to have to learn to deal with. She inhaled slowly before nodding in agreement, "Aggressive it is." Reluctantly she pushed herself up to sit, slipping along the bench so she was leaning against his side, drawing his arm around her shoulder as they had been previously whilst driving.

"Next issue.... Mole? I don't know if we can figure it out......" She paused, eyes widening as a hulking beast of a .... thing winked into existence in front of the car. She was momentarily stunned by it's sudden appearance; a thing she had never seen before, but could only describe as a demonic beast. She was soon scrambling across the bench to the passengers door, blades produced from her person but she only paused when she heard it speak. "his Oracle?" She sneered, though she didn't remove herself from her defensive stance, she eyed the beast warily. "He sent you? Why?" She could not fathom the reason why her patron god would send a towering demonic something to her. She glanced to Will, concerned that he wasn't reacting to the insanity she was witnessing.

Deimos snorted at the girl and laid down in front of the vehicle, " Hypnos told me that he was concerned for your safety. That he wouldn't be able to watch over you during the day as he had been previously. So he asked that I watch over you during the day when his influence is weak. " the demigod explained as he watched her. " I am Deimos, son of Ares, and you are Mackenzie?" He asked not at all concerned with her situation. After all usually the only indication of his presence was a sense of foreboding dread.

William had wrapped his arm around Mackenzie, listening to her start about the mole when she suddenly bolted from his grasp and pulling a concealed knife. Will hadn't seen or heard any threat, but reacted on instinct nonetheless. He shoved the driver's side door open, practically hurling himself out and drawing his pistol. He aimed the weapon in the direction of Mackenzie's gaze, but seeing nothing even as she brandished the blade. His first thought was that Wolves had followed Chase to the meet and were intent on ambushing them, claiming the fake Alpha and Mackenzie in the process. But his eyes revealed nothing as Mackenzie began to speak, a one-sided conversation that did nothing to remedy Will's confusion.

Still, he felt his hands stand up on end, his rapidly-beating heart sinking into his gut. It was a strange feeling, one he couldn't chalk up solely to the adrenaline dump. It wasn't so much fear or anxiety... but despair. He felt something here, its presence, even if he couldn't see or hear it.

"What is it, Mac? What do you see?" he asked, still pointing the handgun at a target he couldn't see, much less fight.

Ginny feels Solomon's eyes on her, and turns to see him and Sandy. She smiles, waving. At least someone notices she's here. Everyone else seems to be busy with their respective tasks. She walks over, still smiling. "Hi, I'm Ginny." She says cheerfully.

iryB73Q.jpg

Sandy made an odd face but nodded slowly, of course a hunter would want to get bullets. "Sure, there's an ammo supply mid-town. I'll take you there." She glanced upwards to see the young woman approaching a smiled politely. "Nice to meet you Ginny, I'm Sandy. And this is Mr. David, are you new here?" Sandy hadn't ever seen the girl before, though it seemed that Solomon must have.

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie glanced from Diemos to Will and back again before relaxing her posture slightly; the creature kept her on edge, a sickening feeling settling on her. As much as she wanted to question what ever this thing was she needed to fill in William, as he clearly didn't see what she did. "Some demon dog thing sent here by Hypnos." She shifted her stance slightly to lean against the car, slipping her blades back into their respective sheaths and once more hidden away from sight. "This thing is crazy to look at, I wish you could see it," She paused a frowned glancing to Will. "Or I'm going insane and it's not really there at all."

She turned her attention back to Diemos, "I don't need you to protect me sunlight or not, I have work to get done today and you are a real distraction; you can't follow me around. Go home Diemos, tell Hypnos his Oracle can take care of herself."

Deimos gave a low growl when Mackenzie called him a demon dog. Despite his rather... strange appearance he was in fact a divine being and didn't appreciate being called a demon. " Hopefully he never will need to see me. As for my being a distraction, that can be fixed fairly easily. I just came as a courtesy to you human. You won't see me again unless you are in peril" With that Deimos disappeared from sight and his presence was greatly reduced.

Ginny nods. "Yeah, I just got here today. It's nice to meet both of you!" She says happily, her blue eyes bright and cheerful. She has a knack for staying positive. If she didn't, she'd be a complete mess emotionally. At least, worse than she already is.

upload_2017-6-21_6-15-25.jpeg
William's jaw clenched. "You're not insane," he murmured. "I can feel it here, whatever it is." That feeling of dread hadn't passed and now he knew the unnatural cause of it. His breath caught in his throats when Mackenzie defiantly told off whatever demonic hound she was seeing; the knowledge that it was a servant of Hypnos and likely wouldn't harm his Oracle did nothing to reassure him.

Then, like that, it was gone. He couldn't be sure, of course, but suddenly that almost overwhelming sense of uneasiness was lifted from him. "Is it... gone?" He asked slowly.

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie continued to glare the space that Deimos had just been occupying. Despite her no longer being able to see it she had little doubt the thing still lingered behind. While she appreciated Will believing her, regardless of him being unable to see what ever it was she had seen, she doubted many others would do the same. She sighed after a moment of straining her eyes to try and still see it she gave up and glanced to Will. "I'm not sure. I can't see it any more but it was sent by Hypnos, so I doubt it'll be far." So much for a day of peace. It didn't seem likely that would happen ever for her; she started to believe that maybe she should have stayed in the Clinic after the first night, but then so many things wouldn't have happened after that, including Will.

"We should go." She said then, having no idea how to lose the invisible demon-dog tail Hypnos had sent after her, they may as well continue on with their plans for the day. She slipped back into the passengers side seat of the Beast and closed the door behind her, eyes continuing to travel to where she had last seen Deimos.

Ashley-May had soon fallen asleep after Elijah settled down. Legs curled up on the chair with her, her head resting on her arm as her fingers remained interlaced with his own. Nurse "Rachet" returned from the Mess Hall after breakfast with her counterpart and immediately set on rounds. Solomon David was still gone, presumably with Sandy still, she came to Elijah Davenports room to find the two sleeping contently. She had thought to wake Ashley, scold her for falling asleep while she was 'on duty' even if it was a day she wasn't scheduled to work but her co-worker convinced her otherwise.

"It's cute." She had whispered and snuck down the hall only to return with a knit blanket. She slipped into the room to drape it over Ashley-May's before ushering Rachet from the room and closing the door behind them.

The pack returned from their afternoon after the hunt relaxed and content. The dressed and spread out among those that had returned with their trophies and started assisting in preparation. Cook fires had been lit and food prepared for the celebration of not only a new member but a very successful hunt. It may have seemed trivial for other, but the pack was deeply rooted in their old culture and ancient beliefs; there were reasons for celebrating the old ways.

M9vyuPi.jpg

Emile had traveled most of the way back with the Pack, but he didn't need to enter the cabin that Chase had come and gone again. The only measure of comfort was that the new member hadn't taken his gear with him, which only told Emile he had likely gone to visit his father, or whomever else he needed to speak to. He started his daily routine; taking a winding path around where the Pack called their temporary home, making wider and wider circuits looking for any oddities. He had full faith in his pack that they would investigate any odd items they came across but Emile had learned the long and hard way to always be diligent when it came to his pack and it's members.
