William nodded at Mackenzie's answer, dropping the pistol's hammer and returning it to its concealed holster in his waistline with a sigh of relief. He couldn't shake the feeling of eyes on him, but the worst of the "aura" -- or whatever it was the thing gave off -- was gone. He warily slid into the driver's seat of the Beast, firing the Ford up and shifting it into gear before pulling back out onto the road. He began heading towards town, remembering the location of a gas station he and Elijah had seen on their way to Vitae. It would also give Mackenzie a chance to handle her mystery project.

Once they were on the road, Will turned toward Mac. "I couldn't see it... but I could feel it. What do you think brought it on this time? What's Hypnos hoping to protect you from?"

Suddenly Thor exclaimed "It's here! I can sense the wardings." Pointing at a flower shop to their right, it was a quite modest building with brick walls, with large windows to showcase it's products, one of them having a text boasting that it had the best flowers in all of Trenton on it. He coulnd't sense Persephone, but wardings powerful enough to cloak a godess and prevent any supernatural creature (except Persephone herself of course) from entering wasn't hard to detect when you were only a few dozen meters away. The next second the deity was standing next to the wall of the shop, he looked around to see if anyone was looking his way, when no one did, he placed his hand on the wall, closed his eyes, and began taking down the wardings.

Mackenzie eye'd William carefully for a long moment before a slow smile crept across her lips. She gave a light laugh and slowly slid back along the seat to be at his side, intentionally lifting his arm to be brought over her shoulder; attempting to regain the closeness they had had earlier - that continued to be interrupted. "If I knew for a second what Hypnos thought, clearly truly understood him, you would think I was insane." She wrinkled her nose and leaned up to kiss his cheek softly. "Diemos, the demon dog thing, said that Hypnos can't protect me during the day and ask him to come and watch over me." She gave a little shrug, "No idea why suddenly he doesn't have the strength any more, but one day soon I'm sure he'll give me a vision and try to kill us both if I'm driving." It was part of the reason why she had asked Will to drive; fear of an impromptu vision from her god.

"Where were we?" She frowned slightly, thinking back on what they had been discussing when Diemos arrived. "The mole. Right. So human hunter not on the council and behind either blackmailed to stay or his family held?" Hand slipped to Will's thigh, gently drawing patterns as they continued on towards the town, not far out now. "So ... basically any hunter inside of Vitae...."

Eddie took the phone with a smirk. "Yea... thanks. I don't have a phone but I'll remember your number. I'll help you guys out if I can. I figure any battle between people like him isn't good for the world." After finding the information he was looking for, he closed his eyes for a moment before giving the phone back.
He saw Thor exit the car and begin doing something to the building. "Weird." Stepping out of the car, he inspected the building. "I don't remember this shop. Maybe I just don't pay attention to flowers?" Alator Alator NanLia NanLia

Any lingering side effects Deimos had inflicted on Will's peace of mind evaporated as he allowed her to lift his arm and sidle up alongside him in the bench seat, placing a kiss on his cheek which forced a smile from him. The mention of her receiving a vision while driving worried him more than he cared to admit. He knew the comment wasn't merely an offhanded joke -- the threat was very real. He had seen the physical affects the visions could have on Mac and the thought of her being incapacitated during a life-threatening situation nearly made him shudder involuntarily. Will wasn't sure whether to be relieved at the news about Hypnos or not -- the idea of seeing less of him during the day brought some measure of relief. He could still hardly bear to think about what had happened in New York, but if the alternative was spectral demon-dogs...

He pushed the thoughts away as Mac began discussing the more immediate issue of the Pack's infiltrator. Feeling her hand tracing lines on his thigh, Will gently pulled her in tightly against himself before doing the same, his fingers caressing her opposite shoulder and upper arm as she spoke. The contact along with driving made it difficult to focus on the subject of the mole, but the thought of stopping never crossed his mind.

"Not exactly a small pool of suspects," Will remarked with a rueful smirk. "I'm not sure we can narrow it down much without squeezing some information from the Council -- anything to get us started." He cocked his head. "But, if we're speculating... the amount of people even in the Hunting community who have heard of the First Sin has to be relatively small. I haven't been at it long, but I don't remember Elijah or Ad--" he cleared his throat quickly before continuing, "...anyone else ever mentioning it. So someone with above-average knowledge of lore, maybe up there in years to have ties to the Pack along with it?" He shrugged noncommittally.

Solomon smiled at the young woman talking with Sandy though it was more of a polite reflex than a genuine smile. After all he had no idea who this person is, but she seemed likeable enough. " A pleasure to meet you as well. If you like you could join us for our walk. At the moment we're off to get some bullets for me to tinker on. I have a rather interesting idea."

She smiles, tilting her head. "Sure, I'd love to!" She says, wondering what he's going to try. "Come to think of it, I should probably get a gun. Because currently I have a dagger, which while useful, certainly isn't going to help if things get as bad as they're inevitably going to at this rate." She chuckles softly, running a hand through her hair.

Mackenzie tilted her head aside lean against Will's chest as he spoke, eyes watching the road ahead; could never break the driving habit from her but until she had real assurances (and trust) that the god wouldn't deliver her a vision while she was behind the wheel... She was going to miss the freedom of the open road. She hadn't much time to work out how many hunters were inside of Vitae as it were, to figure out which ones where locals and which were like herself and Will; new, was going to be a daunting task. "Alright, so we need more from the Council first. Put a pin in that one for now." She didn't like side stepping real issues, but at the very least they could circle back to it in a few days.

"Last but certainly not least: Is the pack working with a Nest?" Her hand paused on his knee and she bit her lip slightly before speaking. "We -I could call Franklin. He would know more about what other Nests are doing as it was. Find out if it's the same nest that was with the Pack at Borseti?" The thought send a shiver down her spine; the idea of the same vampires, the one that had tortured her for months, could still be roaming freely and possibly even back made her blood run cold.

Sandy smiled politely at Ginny. "Nice to meet you too." At the request of Solomon she was turning the wheelchair in the direction she had promised: the ammo shop, and started on their way. Sandy remained silent as the two chatted about weapons, she knew nothing about knives or guns beyond their uses to her, or lack thereof. Knives were for food or surgery and guns had no place, but then she wasn't a hunter after all.

"So are you here to help with the werewolves too, Ginny?" She asked idly as the headed into the town's small center where all the shops were located.

She blinks. "Well, I mean, I guess I am. This is the first I've heard of you guys having a werewolf problem. I came here to help in general. That and I don't want to be alone anymore. You know how it is." That last part is a bit of a sad tone, but from the fact that she said it with a straight face, she's either been alone for a long time, or is just really numb.

Mackenzie's sudden change in demeanor at the mention of a possible Nest connection wasn't lost on Will. He briefly looked down to place a kiss on her head propped against his chest, his hand squeezing her shoulder gently. "You don't have to, Mac. Franklin knows me now. He might not like me, but he's agreed to help us regardless of his reasons. It's my responsibility, I'll talk to him alone if you want. It's in his best interests to be forthcoming if they're a rival." The last thing he wanted to do was forcefully dredge up more unpleasant memories for her, even if it meant potentially sabotaging his chances in negotiations with the Den Master.

As Chase approached the packs campground he finally started to slow his pace, the wolf panting heavily. Though the closer he got the stronger the smell of cooking food got, causing him to instinctively salivate despite the dry mouth he had from the journey. He was taking a rather off-beaten sort of way back to the camp rather than any of the trails for no reasons other than he wanted to get a feel for the area rather than just the paths the pack used consistently.

So he was rather surprised when he caught Emile's scent and from the sound of the steps ahead he was coming up on the Alpha as he was making a similar trek back towards the camp. Chase made sure to make himself known as he picked up his pace slightly to catch up to the larger black wolf, not that he particularly believed he could sneak up on Emile with ease but he didn't want to accidentally surprise him. Chase wondered if Emile had already been back to the camp and cabin and left again or if he'd somehow managed to return before the Alpha could despite it being a little over two hours since he'd left.

Once he'd closed the distance between them Chase dialed back his pace and came up on the other wolf's right flank but kept a good five foot distance from him as he walked.

Mackenzie smiled sadly hearing Will's offer to speak to Franklin alone, as she expected she would. Part her of her wanted to accept the offer, avoid speaking to Franklin at all but she soon shook her head. "No, I can call him, but I would like you to be with me.... when I do." She knew she didn't need to ask him; he would likely have made it clear he was going to be involved in the conversation regardless but she wanted him to be there. Will had become something of a security blanket for her, a feeling of safety and peace whenever he was near. Something deep within hummed when he smiled to her, send flutters and pleasurable chills through her. It was comforting and terrifying to know that one person could have such an effect on her. As they approached the small town Mac could already spot the gas station, knowing this trip could be over shoulder. 'Hey," She glanced up at Will briefly. "You want to grab some lunch? While we're out?"

Christopher had been when Thor had shouted rather loudly about the flower shop. He turned off the car and watched as the god made his way to the building and started doing ... something. He gave Eddie a slight shrug as he took the phone back from the man. "I haven't got a single clue as to what he's doing." Of course none of the humans knew Thor was actually dismantling the goddess's warding. Chris, Bruce and Aiden all got out of the car, slowly making their way closer to the god.

Emile had heard Chase within the woods before he caught the other wolf's scent; he had paused in his route and waited for the smaller wolf to catch up with him. When he did catch sight of Chase finally the Alpha gave a slight huff before continuing on his route around the Den. He couldn't say he wasn't happy to see Chase return to the pack, there was a time where the Alpha had thought that perhaps the wolf had given up and returned to his family. After all his 'father' wasn't bound to Vitae like some of the others he'd known, not to mention the very same father hated wolves and in the same factor the pack.

Emile cut short the remainder of his route, turning back towards the pack and temporary Den with Chase in tow.

As they walked it seemed Emile wasn't bothered by his absence, or at least it was the vibe Chase got. He wouldn't truly know until they were able to communicate better in their human forms. Once inside the borders of the camp Chase walked along attempting to give off the friendly vibe in his furry form with tail wagging lightly as he passed other wolves by in either of their forms. The smell of the coming meals was wafting about as they were cooked. Chase didn't particularly keep attention on Emile and what the Alpha was doing as his own destination was clear. Crossing the area until he arrived back at Emile's cabin and rounding towards the back door before slowly shifting and slipping inside with his clothes in hand.

With the lack of any lingering fresh strong scents it seemed likely nobody had entered in the time he'd been gone. That and the fact that his note was left undisturbed, which he swiped it off the table and crumpled the paper up then tossed it in the kitchens trash can. Chase let out an exhausted sigh, pulling on his clothes before dropping himself onto the couch like a rag doll. Head lolled on the back of the couch and arms and legs outstretched but limp as he took a moment to catch his breath. Constant running over an extended time wasn't something he was particularly used to.

William nodded at Mackenzie's compromise that he be there for her when she made the call to Franklin. "You got it." Truth be told, he wouldn't have had it any other way. Seeing the gas station, steered the Mainline toward it.

"You want to grab some lunch? While we're out?"

"Sure," Will remarked, his stomach growling at the prospect... though he was more tempted by the thought of spending time with Mac in a less-than-stressful setting than the meal itself. Coming to a stop alongside the gas pump, he switched the Beast off before reluctantly breaking the contact with Mackenzie, leaving her with a peck on the cheek before climbing out.

After several moments spent trying unsuccessfully to locate the fuel port, he found it and began gassing up the vehicle. As they waited, he leaned against the trunk. "What are you in the mood for?"

Emile followed along behind Chase as he returned to the pack, however when he headed towards the cabin once more Emile lagged behind to remain near the pack a while longer. He gave Chase enough time to shift and dress, thinking the man would come out to rejoin the rest of the pack here, but when it was clear he was not leaving the cabin for the time being Emile made his way towards it. He shifted into his human form before slipping on the jeans he had left at the side. He quickly brought himself inside the cabin intent on changing into fresh clothing for the afternoon and evening of celebration.

"You visit ton pére?" He asked as he stepped into the cabin, seeing Chase lounging on the couch. He didn't stay on the main floor long, deftly ascending the ladder to the loft to find something to change into.

Mackenzie exited the vehicle directly behind Will after the pulled up to the pumps, smiling as she watched him search around looking for the fuel door, mildly amused. "There is a dive bar in the strip mall I need to go to. It has pretty decent burgers." She suggested as she moved along side him where he leaned against the car. The project within the car would have to wait until later, when she was confident Hypnos wasn't paying direct attention to her. With the presence of Diemos arriving it had been made abundantly clear the god had not forgotten her.

Chase raised his head when the shirtless Emile entered and reeled in his limbs a little. At least his question was spot on for the cover, whether Emile smelled the scent from the shorts or was just assuming it was hard to tell. He watched as the other man stepped by the couch towards the loft area, "I did. Called him, but he wanted to actually see me." Chase shrugged his shoulders, than sat up properly on the couch. "Think a part of him was hoping that I was calling under duress, mostly I think he just wanted to be sure."

"Left a note actually but I managed to beat you back, ran so I'd make it back before the uh, celebration." He spoke nonchalantly as he assumed there was no problem. "I miss anything? Or did you just dunk Morgan in the water for an hour."

William nodded. "I could go for that." As they waited for the gas tank to fill, William reached over and took Mackenzie's hand in his own, his thumb rubbing gentle circles across the top of it. He wouldn't bring up her pet project until she did, but she had said earlier that it was for Ash. The thought of the woman and her "situation" caused his mind to wander. "Ashley-May is taking all of this pretty well," he began quietly. "Most people would panic if they had something like this dropped on them, but sounds like she's embracing it."

Emile smiled hearing about Chases's father concern for him, it was good the man had family that cared; that he wasn't truly alone. He was far too aware that Chase was not wholly committed to the pack on his part, something still held him back from becoming a full member, but he hoped that would change over time -and likely not until after matters at Vitae were done. He retreated up into the loft to change before returning down to the small living room dressed once more. He had a slight frown as he attempting to understand the word Chase used. "Dunk?" He had to consider the context of the word, it was in regards to Morgan and thinking back on what Chase had last been there for. "Noyer? Er, under the water?" He asked, motioning with his hands while he spoke.

Mackenzie smiled as Will took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze in return. He spoke on Ashley and she sighed slightly, knowing that what she was planning had to do with her partner and the bun. "I'm surprised too, actually." She admitted, "I would have thought she would be losing her mind by this point; I think I would be." There wasn't a part of Mac's mind that made her think she was at all capable of taking care of another life, and certainly not one that would depend on her. She glanced up to Will, figuring now was as good a time as any. "She's in danger, because of it." She kept her voice low, the conversation between the two of them. "Typically what she and Alaric created is an abomination, according to our feather friends. She and it will be hunted down, never ending, until they finally have her." She bit her lip. "But I think I have a work around, a temporary one at least, that will keep her hidden from them. Until I can figure out how to stop them from getting her at all."

She heard the pump kick off and removed the hose from the tank, returning it to the pump. "The stuff in the car is for you to hold onto, for safe keeping. If something happens to me, it'll be all the instructions you need to keep her hidden and safe."

William's eyes closed as Mackenzie elaborated on the unique dangers of Ash's pregnancy. He had known there was some stigma involved with Nephilim, but the specifics were a mystery to him until now. Angels would hunt her and her child to the ends of the Earth for the "crime" of bringing a new life into the world. It angered him -- not merely the thought of Ashley-May being placed in danger for it, but at Alaric's abandonment of her. He knew better than most what that was like for a child... and he had a feeling this baby would have it worse off than he ever did growing up. Still, he took solace in the fact that Ashley-May was far from alone. He would do everything in his power to keep her and her child safe and he knew the same could be said of Elijah. Mackenzie was a given; Will knew she would kill or die for her partner in a second if that's what it took. Her next statement proved as much.

"The stuff in the car is for you to hold onto, for safe keeping. If something happens to me, it'll be all the instructions you need to keep her hidden and safe."

Will frowned, turning to look at Mac with narrowed eyes. "Don't talk like that," he said, reaching up to cup her cheek with his free hand. "You know I'll do whatever I can to protect her... but I expect you to be right there with me. Ash needs you, Mac. And so will her child."

Even as he spoke, his imagination ran wild with what was inside the car. He had some ideas, but the fact that he never wanted to be placed in a situation where he needed to use them prevented him from speculating too much.

Jesus. Chase thought with tired humor, immediately regretting the use of the term as Emile tried to understand it. At least the other man never seem embarrassed when he asked, simply trying to understand. "Like dunking food into ketchup or a basketball into the net." It was difficult to say how well that translation would go over, ketchup and basketball were clearly not a regular thing here but this wasn't their regular home either. But to be fair the word wasn't the easiest to explain, "It was more of a slang term for just tossing her in the water, but I didn't use it correctly. You didn't really dunk her as much as threw her." It was odd explaining words to someone in this manner, though Chase didn't mind explaining. He just felt there were people better suited to it than him.

"How long have you been speaking English anyways?" He couldn't help but be a little curious as to how long he'd been learning.

Emile took up the chair he had the night before as Chase explained what dunk meant, at the very least it was what he had assumed. He was confident he would start to understand Chase's colloquialisms the more they spoke; he was the first American Wolf he had interacted with since coming south, and those in his pack that spoke only English knew enough French to sub in words when needed. He leaned his large frame back into the chair considering the timeline Chase inquired about. "Eight mois? Erm Months. When we decided to come to Vitae, to claim our pack member." Emile would never be embarrassed about the language barrier; he was new to the language and it was learning curve, just like he would expect Chase to never be embarrassed about learning pack life: it was new to the both of them.

Mackenzie smiled leaning her cheek into his hand. She appreciated his confident and assertive belief that she was not only needed but that she would be there to help them both. She stepped into him to lift herself up to kiss lips before giving his hand a gentle pat. "It will be fine." She said quietly, turning to head for the kiosk to pay for the fuel. The box within the Mainline was warded with the same wards that kept Hypnos and Thanatos out of the office, the very same she used to keep herself hidden from Hypnos previously. Within it was the information from her families journal; instructions to seek out a witch that could be trusted and would be willing to risk their own lives. As well as instructions on which Runes were used to ward against what; she was confident enough in Will he would know when to use them and how. They still had one more stop to make before they went for lunch, one more addition to the warded box for Ashley's future.

"Comrades are indeed the best way to stave off loneliness. I'm sure you'll be able to find people within the Colony to call friends. If nothing else I think we are off to a wonderful start." Solomon as he smiled up at Ginny. The best thing she could do was exactly what she wanted to do, help people and the Colony and she would no doubt find the comrades she sought. " As for a gun, if all you have is a dagger then the sooner you get a gun the better. I'm in much the same position myself. Though I don't know much about a gun other than the calibers. So I suppose I'll be relying on the store owner for suggestions."

Mac's reassuring kiss had done little to settle Will's anxiety as he watched her walk over to pay for gas. He sighed with resignation, walking around the car to once again take a seat behind the wheel.

Will's eyes drifted toward the box, the contents no longer such a mystery... even if part of him wishes they had stayed that way. He could hardly entertain the thought of "something" happening to Mackenzie to begin with; the idea of it placing him in a position where the life of Ashley-May and her unborn child were in his hands only made the prospect that much more terrifying.

Seeing Mac returning to the car, he forced the thoughts away with some difficulty and put on a reassuring smile to greet her.

Ginny chuckles softly. "Yeah, same here. I certainly will need training learning to fire one." She says. "Last time I tried, I got a black eye from the recoil." She did try to turn the tables by stealing a hunter's gun when she was fifteen. She just held it much too close to her face.

She smiles, enjoying his company. "And thank you! To be honest, I hadn't had anyone I felt safe talking to for a couple years before now." Seven. Seven years of hiding from literally everyone. But she knows a human her age wouldn't have survived, so she makes it more believable.

Sandy was one more lost in their shop talk as the two discussed knives and guns; neither of which were appealing to her. She smiled pleasantly as she continued to wheel Solomon towards his requested destination to find himself some ammo for a project he had in mind. While she understood the reasoning for hunters to have become what they are, she could not see how or where they got the drive to continue on. Her own family were hunters, both her parents choosing the life after encountering vampires while they were dating as teenagers, and now her two younger brothers were learning the life, whilst she had chosen a career that would still let her help, without needing to actually hunt.

Mackenzie slipped into the car and eyed will's smile, it was not hard to tell what had been on his mind and she doubted it would go away any time soon. She decided against pressing the issue; to reveal to him what her plans were in detail would only make his mood worse, and to tell him that Hypnos would likely wipe her existence from the surface of the earth because of it? Well she didn't want to send him down the killing of gods warpath the man would likely take. She directed him to the mall where both the dive bar and their next stop was, once parked in the parking lot she dug through the glove box searching for an ID and a bank card. "Can you bring your ID too?" She asked, finding her own and pocketing it before pausing. "You're not wanted, right? Clean record?" She wished she had thought of this before hand; she had her falsified papers for herself, but she needed a witness for signing today and that witness couldn't be someone who was wanted by the police.
