Will's eyes snapped open at the sound of his phone buzzing insistently on the nightstand where he'd left it. Sitting up slowly, he raised one hand to rub it down his face before reaching for the device. The clock confirmed the early hour, but he was more interested in the text he'd received from Adelaide:
I should be there later today.
Will raised his eyebrows in surprise. She must have driven most of the night. Texting back a reply that he'd see her soon and to be careful, he set the smartphone aside. He briefly considered laying back down, but decided against it, reaching for his prosthesis instead. Once it was attached, he wandered to the bathroom with his bag of toiletries and a change of clothes. He showered and brushed his teeth quickly, dressing before making his way to the kitchen. He heard what might have been faint sounds of movement in coming from Ash & Mac's room, but he couldn't be sure. For all he knew they'd already woken up and left, those he doubted it based on the lack of a shouting match.
William grabbed a cup from the cabinet, filling it with water from the sink and sipping it as he rested on the counter, stomach growling.
