Solomon smiled as Sandy entered his 'room', "Good evening Sandy, I'm sorry for troubling you so late, but I just need to get out of this room for a bit. Use the restroom, maybe enjoy the night sky, ramble on about random things. Honestly anything to distract me from that dream." Solomon said trying to force himself to swing his legs over the bed with limited success. " But first a trip to the restroom would be much appreciated." Solomon said as he clutched his knife in his left hand. A part of Solomon was glad that it was nurse Sandy that responded. At least it was the one he could remember and she seemed nicer than the others he had seen milling about.

The moment Emile had sputtered with his drink caught Chase off guard, momentarily wondering what exactly he'd said to cause it until Emile answered that question. It was slightly embarrassing that Chase used a term that not even packs used, but mostly he was embarrassed by his ignorance. Emile continued to name off the lack of family and Chase could relate. "Morgan's your niece? The one who intervened, I'll have to remember to thank her tomorrow. She saved me from having to explain why your pack had one less member when I arrived." It was a jest of course, in simply saying he could have taken Brody if they'd fought.

Chase had reached for his own beverage when Emile mentioned why the lack of kids, and it took a moment for his brain to process. Oh. With the Alpha's back to him he now awkwardly pulled the bottle to him so he could finish it off, the man sure he was flushed. Of course he'd end up at the pack with what he assumed was the only gay Alpha in existence. Chase let the glass bottle back down on the table with a small thunk, "Sorry, I'd just assumed." Chase rubbed harshly with one hand at the left side of his face, going for an itch as well as trying to keep him more aware and less likely to say anything else stupid for the time being. But by Emile's wording he had no actual significant other, Chase nearly questioned him on how an Alpha without a mate was different from one who did have one but decided to keep his mouth shut for the time being.

Instead he eyed the third bottle that was pushed in his direction, "You realize the more of this that goes in me the more idiocy comes back out right?" His eyes wandered from the bottle to Emile before grasping it with little remorse. Though he knew to cut himself off after this one, Chase wasn't really a lightweight but he didn't pretend he could drink with the best of them. "That's the last thing either of us wants."

At the sound of his name, Elijah's eyes flicked to the door and way from the book in his hands. Seeing Mackenzie standing at the threshold of his room, he smiled and lowered the book. "For your own sake, Mac, you had better come bearing gifts. And by 'gifts' I mean more of your snacks," he said with mock warning.

William entered. "Afraid not. Just little old me," he said.

Eli looked down to see Will holding onto Mac's hand but said nothing, immediately returning his faux glare to the two of them. "Pity. If you're not here to feed me, then what are you here for? Other than the pleasure of my company, of course."

Will smiled, stepping closer to the bed with Mac. "A lot has happened in the past several hours and there are things you need to know."

Elijah frowned at the suddenly serious tone but nodded, gesturing to the seats along the wall. "By all means." Will grabbed two of them, pulling them up to the bed for he and Mackenzie.

Sandy was relieved to see that Solomon wasn't in need of anything but freedom and company. She frowned slightly seeing him attempt to get out of bed. "Mr. David. I'm fairly certain you do not want Ruth in here helping you back into bed like earlier." She teased but soon enough she was smiling again. "Just wait right here." She stepped out of sight for a few moments, just down the hall a few feet to collect one of the only two wheelchairs the Clinic owned before coming back to this room.

She wheeled the chair up beside his bed, before moving around to help him from the bed into the chair. "I think I can manage what you've asked for." She stepped back behind the chair once he was settled and leaned down to whisper. "As long as you don't tell my boss, that is." She laughed and pushed him from the room into the hallway.

Mackenzie smirked hearing the Brit complain about lack of snacks, she knew Ashley had mentioned he wanted more, she simply didn't know how much Eli had liked them. She made a mental note to to by the Mess Hall and see what ingredients they had there, the house was limited and running low on supplies. She frowned slightly hearing Will's rather serious tone, she had hoped that this would have been a pleasant visit, she didn't see the need to worry Eli on what had happened today, between Franklin and Chase, but she certainly wouldn't stop Will from informing his partner.

She took up the seat offered next to Will and waited quietly, idly wondering if she should be filling in Ashley as well.

Emile shrugged at the apology, he was far from offended by Chase's assumption, but there was little that could offend the man truly. Seated once more across the table from Chase he sipped at his beer, a satisfied smirk on his lips hearing the younger man admit to his rather low tolerance of alcohol. "Ah." He shrugged, taking a long drink from his bottle before continuing. "Better in here with me, than out there," he nodded towards the door Chase had come through.

"Tell me, ma p'tit choit, your grew up with humans, lived like them. You said you want to see what pack life is like, but why only now." He waved his hand. "Oui, votre pèr is in the colony. You want his safety, but you must have met other meutes, packs in the past? Why not then?" As much as Emile was enjoying Chase's company, he couldn't fathom why the sudden change of heart; he was given the opportunity to leave both the colony and the pack with his father and refused, and was even told once his pack was done with the colony he would still stay with them. It was a far cry from what the loner wolf had been declaring hours earlier.

As Will settled into the seat, Elijah watched him patiently. William didn't particularly like the idea of bombarding Elijah with all of this while the man was in his current condition, but he knew his partner would be beyond angry if he figured out that Will was keeping things from him, regardless of the intentions behind it.

"Franklin arrived earlier today," William began.

Elijah's eyebrows raised. "The Den Master from the North?"

Will nodded, turning briefly toward Mac before looking back at Elijah. "We turned down his first terms. They were... steep. He seemed to have a change of heart, for lack of a better term. Agreed to send a contingent of vamps to the Colony in the next few days to aid in the defense, along with a mystery package."

Eli frowned, first at Will and then Mac. "And the two of you took him at his word? Granted, I don't know the man, but that sounds suspiciously like a ploy to me."

William raised a placating hand. "We don't have much of a choice other than to accept his help, Eli. We'll be keeping a close eye on him -- and his vampires -- the entire time they're here. They'll be on a short leash."

Elijah said nothing, simply giving Will a dubious glare. He turned to look at Mackenzie. "And you, Mac? Do you think we have anything to fear from our generous undead benefactor?"

Solomon smiled at her as she wheeled him out of his room and into new parts of the clinic he hadn't seen. " Believe me Sandy, the last thing I want to do is jeopardize your position here. You're the only nurse I can talk to." Solomon said with a smile. As they moved down the halls Solomon was trying to figure out how he was going to use the bathroom without enlisting the help of the ever so compassionate Sandy. While Solomon was sure it wouldn't be her first time doing so as a nurse it was his own pride at play here.

"So Sandy, if you don't mind my asking what brought you to Vitae?" Solomon asked trying to fill the silence that had developed between them.
NanLia NanLia

iryB73Q.jpg

Sandy laughed and patted Solomon's shoulder, he sounded genuine enough wanting to keep her employed but she certainly knew what he meant about being the only nurse. She spent most of her days finding idle busy work just to avoid speaking to some of the others that worked here, she could only imagine what it was like for a patient that didn't have a choice. At least recently Ashley-May had come to work at the clinic part time, but she was a hunter and was often away leaving Sandy alone with the older women.

He inquired about how she'd come to this small town, "My parents are both hunters. They settled here about ten years ago. I went to university in this state then Vitae offered me a job. It's had to find qualified nurse's that know what to do with supernatural wounds." She smiled, as they continued down the short hall tot he restroom, she pushed the door open and backed into the room with Solomon. The rest room was set up for people with physical disabilities, but she certainly wouldn't just abandon him. "Do you need my help, Mr. David? If not, I can wait just outside the door for you."

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie grimaced slightly as Eli essentially nailed everyone's concerns with Franklin. "I have never known him to go back on his word." She said simply, but even she knew it didn't sound confident. "We don't have a choice, and he knows it. He has us at a disadvantage since turning him away would seal our fate here. We need to be cautious, for sure, after the pack is dealt with. If he was going to do anything it would be then." She knew Franklin hated Vitae and it's hunters, she had spent years with the Nest turning away their hunters that wandered too far into the colony.

"There is something else." She said simply. "And I need your help with it. The night of the attack, when the pack comes, I can't have Ashley inside these walls. It'll get us both killed. Alliance was enough of a wake up call for me. I can't keep her safe and deal with the wolves at the same time. You won't be in fighting condition either." She paused, knowing this may not go well. "I'm working out the details sill and I'll keep you in the loop but I think I have a safe spot where you two can go for that night. You'll be close enough that we can get to you if needed and vice versa, but far enough and public enough the pack won't bother with you." She hoped this ploy would work with Eli; hoped it would relieve some of the guilt Will would feel sending his partner away. "I'm going to tell Ashley it's for your safety, and that you need someone there with medical experience to help you if needed. You don't need to lie to her, just don't disagree with me. If you tell her you'll be fine she will stay."

Elijah's jaw clenched tightly as his glare turned from Mackenzie to Will. "And you have nothing to say on this?"

Will gazed back at his partner patiently. "Don't look at me, Elijah. Mac's right. You're not in any shape to swing that blade of yours when the Pack arrives."

"Then I'll use a gun," Elijah hissed. "I'm not an invalid, William. You'll need every able set of hands when the attack begins."

Will shook his head slowly. "Eli, when the Pack comes, it's on me to coordinate the defense," he said. There was no arrogance in his tone, merely a resigned statement of the facts. "In order to do that, I need to be impartial. I need to have a clear head. And I cannot do either of those things if I'm worried about you holding the line half-dead, making yourself a target in the process." He shrugged somberly. "I can't."

Davenport shook his head, fist clenching at his side. "It's my job to keep these people safe, too!" he said, his voice nearly a shout.

"You will be!" Will barked back, leaning forward in his seat. Quickly regaining his composure, he settled back into the chair. "You will be." Elijah glared at him silently, waiting. He took that as a sign to continue.

"There's something else about Franklin. Mac and I... we have reason to believe that he might try to get to Ashley-May. It may be after the attack, but who's to say he wouldn't try something in the chaos?" William sighed. "We both know Ash won't leave of her own free will... unless she has a good reason to be away from the Colony. Like keeping you healthy. Meanwhile, you can watch over her. Keep her safe."

upload_2017-6-2_23-30-40-jpeg.317422

Elijah's glare passed between Mackenzie and William in silence as he processed the information. Slowly, the flushed anger drained from his face. Some part of him knew that they were playing him, telling him what he wanted to hear. But he knew something they didn't when it came to Ashley-May, the news she had revealed to him in confidence earlier that day. Regardless of whether what Will had said about Franklin being a threat to her was true or not, she needed to be away from the fighting when it came to Vitae. And if he was the only way to convince her...

"Fine," Eli said resignedly. "I may not like it, but I understand." He sighed deeply. "Is there anything else?"

Will nodded slowly, trying to keep the relief from his face at the man's agreement. "We have a plan underway to gather some intel about the Packs. We're using a werewolf of our own, they're loyal to Vitae--"

Elijah grinned, cutting him off. "Chase agreed to pull his weight, then? Good on him."

William froze, staring at Elijah silently before turning to look at Mackenzie.

"No question there." Chase said in reply to Emile speaking on the fact that it was better for him to be drinking inside and away from the others. He sat with both hands flat on the table but thumbs and index fingers fitting in loose a circle around the bottle. The Alpha spoke, he could tell that whatever the man had said in french was directed at him and frowned slightly not knowing what it meant, usually Emile would reiterate a word in English but this was one of the occasions he did not. Chase decided to focus on the question instead, it was a tough question considering he was here to deceive and relay information.

"Nearly all of the other packs I've run into had to be taken out. They were small, not trying to hide, eating human hearts." The last bit Chase had looked up to see if there was a reaction to the human hearts bit, it was difficult to say if his pack did such things yet. "I was a hunter and I did what I had to do." Chase now regretted having his seat backwards, wanting to lean backwards now. "I think it was starting to show, that I wasn't as content with life as used to be. Maybe it was the hunting, maybe it was some need for a pack or belonging that Werewolves get after nearly thirty years of doing their own thing." He shrugged his shoulders before taking another sip, "Joe, my father, I'm guessing he saw it before even I did. And maybe he was feeling it himself. So, Vitae." Chase tilted his head when naming the colony, "It had its perks, it was something. But well, we know how that ended now don't we. If people don't accept you, you can't really belong." He reached up to stretch his rather stiff shoulders from the not so great posture. "And you offered." Once his arms were lowered he shrugged his shoulders.

"You weren't always Alpha or a part of the pack right?" He was assuming, "You get that."

Mackenzie was a little worried on how Elijah would react knowing a that there had been a wolf among them, and that she and Will had made a deal with the man to scout out the Pack. What she had not counted on was Elijah knowing who it was all along. She was aware Will was watching her, but she would not look away from Eli, she did her best to keep her expression still, voice calm, but she she was seething.

"You knew." She said simply, testing her voice; she didn't want to start yelling inside the clinic. "You knew it was Chase and didn't tell anyone." Hands curled into fists, if she thought the man could take beating she would have given it to him now. "You put us all at risk. Ashley as risk, based on what?" She spoke between gritted teeth. It was one thing to sent the wolf out on a mission outside the colonies walls, it was a far different thing to have him living with them, being near them and keeping her unaware.

OSi7Uia.jpg

Chase explained why he didn't join any other packs; simple answer was no one had made him the offer Emile had now. The mention of human hearts was unfortunate but Chase seemed to believe Emile and his back were hiding, when they certainly were not. He didn't condone the consumption of human hearts, and when he'd become the Alpha he had put and end do it, but that certainly did not mean he nor his pack had not consumed any in the past. It was not a topic he was going to tread on, knowing Chase for the hunter that he was, he had little doubt in his current state he would hear much beyond the act and not any of the reasons.

Emile noted Chase's almost continual need to move and he smirked 'serves your right' He thought, if the loner hadn't been so defiant, sitting as he had on the chair, he wouldn't be uncomfortable now. Part of him wanted to leave him sitting there, knowing the other wolf wouldn't move without direction, a reminder and simple process of breaking defiance from the wolf, but he liked Chase's defiance, his spunky attitude. Emile finished off the remainder of his bottle and set the empty on the table before rising and nodding towards the small living room area: a small couch and a chair, in the one room cabin. "I have always been with Pack. Born here. Raised here." He said, correcting Chase's assumption. He made his way over where he had indicated and took a seat on the couch.

The whole cabin was rather sparse, clearly it had been abandoned then furnished when the pack arrived: nothing really matched but it all worked. To one end of the living room was a ladder leading up the loft bedroom above. "Mon père was the Alpha before me, I challenge him for Alpha. When I go, well if I have mate, he'll be Alpha or he'll be challenged for it."

Solomon chuckled, " I think I can manage. At least I hope so." Luckily for Solomon once the door was closed and he was left alone he did manage to use bars that had been installed to hoist himself up and get his business done. It was moments like this that Solomon hated his weakened state. Though if he weighed it against what he got at the price of this weakness he couldn't help but feel satisfied at the same time. Wheeling himself out of the door he smiled up and Nurse Sandy and said, " Thanks for waiting on me. Now how about that breath of fresh air?"

Sandy smiled and nodded, leaving the room and closing the door light behind her. She stood vigil at the door waiting to be called for help or for Solomon to reappear. She didn't have to wait long, some patients often made her wonder if they had injured themselves and couldn't call out, but he was at the door once more. "Oh yes." She said with a secretive smile. She took up behind the wheel chair and was ushering him down the hall again, speaking softly but loud enough that he could hear her. "This could get me into a lot of trouble, we had another patient escape on us just a couple of days ago, and the head nurse was really ticked."

She brought Solomon in his chair to emergency doors, there she carefully backed through the doorway and peeked outside. Seeing it was clear she pulled him out and down the ramp before leading him towards the back of the Clinic. There was a quiet lawn concealed by the cedar hedges that lined the property. She pushed him through the short grass towards a picnic bench the nurse's used to eat their lunches. "We can't stay out too long, they'll notice your gone eventually." She said finding a seat on the bench, she was not about to leave him alone out here.

Solomon took a deep breath of fresh air as Sandy found her seat on a bench, " Well if it's any consolation I don't think I'll be escaping anytime soon. As for someone noticing I'm gone...." Solomon said feeling around the piece of paper he had on him. After a few minutes of searching he found it unfolded the piece of paper revealing another sigil. " Thanks to this thing here anyone who looks at the bed will see an illusion of me sleeping. It's amazing the things you can come up with when you've got nothing but time." Solomon said folding the piece of paper up again. Solomon took a moment to enjoy the view, the trees, the hedges, the night sky. It was all just the recharge he needed after being stuck in a bed for so long. " I deeply appreciate your helping me Sandy. You don't know how your kindness has helped me."

Mackenzie's own anger snapped Will out of his shocked silence. "What the hell were you thinking, Eli?" he snapped. "You didn't think that was information worth sharing?"

Elijah winced at the verbal barrage from both of them, leaning back into his cot as if it would provide some measure of safety. "In my defense," he began calmly, "I was planning on telling you. Both of you. I only figured it out after New York. After Alaric teleported us back, Chase got cornered here in his wolf form and took a bullet. I found him in the basement here, at the Clinic. Were it anyone else, I might have taken their head on the spot," he remarked evenly.

Eli shrugged. "But... he saved my life. In New York, he put his life on the line for me when he didn't have to. Alaric was protecting him, too, said he could be trusted. Wanted to swear me to secrecy, I imagine. So I heard Chase out, decided to give him a chance. I was on my way to let Will know when Pan arrived... and after that I never got the chance. Joe could have let me die to protect his son's secret but instead he helped save me, too, after the Trial."

Will shook his head with a sneer. "That wasn't your call to make, Eli. You could have told me--"

Elijah sighed. "Look, I'm not saying it was right, but I wanted to have time to explain to both of you that he wasn't just some infiltrator I'd discovered. I didn't want you going off half-cocked on some witch hunt without at least talking to him. I planned to keep a close eye on him in the meantime."

"And look how that turned out. While you were out of commission he had free reign of the Colony and none of us knew the first thing about it." Will said harshly.

Ginny sighs, staring at the cieling of the warehouse she lives in, arms crossed, and looks over at her supply area. She doesn't have much left. Some canned soup, crackers, dried fruit… and no blood. That's the main problem here. She kind of needs that.

She sighs, getting up, and going to start a fire in the hole she made, deciding to heat up some of the soup for now. She hasn't accounted for the smoke, however, and there's a lot of it, due to her lack of quality firewood.

As Emile left the kitchen area Chase took one last long drink of his bottle, not entirely finishing it off before lifting off the chair and following the Alpha. He took a seat in the chair Malcolm had earlier, more or less slumping into it and relaxing. Chase didn't recognize the french term Emile had used but since the older man mentioned his mother he assumed the term referred to his father. "So the Alpha position has been in the family a while I take it." It wasn't too surprising hear that Emile had always been a part of the pack, fighting his Uncle for the position of Alpha was more-so. "Fighting family can't have been fun. You know, unless he was a dick."

"Does that mean your niece will fight for the spot when you're gone?" If she was his only family it was easily possible.

Sandy regarded the piece of paper Solomon showed her and the sigil inscribed upon it. It meant literally nothing to her, but she smiled appreciatively, assuming he had done it to keep her out of trouble on their tiny adventure. She flushed slightly and shook her head. "No really, it's nothing. You've been one of the better patients here, recently. Most of those that do end up in the Clinic for care are hunters, and they aren't much for conversation with 'civilians'." It bothered her to no end that the hunters in the colony regarded her as just part of the machinery, part of the working bits of the colony. She had sewn together hunters countless times in the past with no so much as a thank you.

"So why did you come to Vitae?" She asked, honestly curious. Despite the fact she was quite convinced he, too, was a hunter, he was far different from the others she had met.

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie glared at Eli as he explained his reasoning but it was far from enough to convince her. "So he saved your ass in New York, and his father didn't let you die. Those are great reasoning's behind letting him wander freely. Did you consider maybe he was saving his own ass and you happened to be in the way? And letting you die, Chase standing there and watching Ash and I try and hold you together, wouldn't have gone unnoticed?"

She leaned back in her chair, inhaling deeply, trying to calm down. She didn't want to alert the staff that something was a miss. "Where is that angel, anyway? I am going to give him a shit kicking when he comes back." She still couldn't believe the number of times Chase had been free to wander around the colony doing gods know what.]

OSi7Uia.jpg

Emile stretched as Chase came to sit heavily in the chair, bringing his feet up to rest on the already scuffed coffee table. He nodded in response to Chase's question. "Oui, she can take it, it's hers should she want it, but anyone can challenge her for it." He gave a shrug. "It's not as simple as la lutte contre, erm, fight?" He nodded. "None can come and fight me, and take. Right? Je suis Alpha until I die, it is passed, like family ... stuff, to the next alingé. Mais another part of ma famille can challenge her for Alpha. Then the pack decides, votes. If it is a tie, then they fight." He gave a small chuckle after he explained it. "Old world rules. Ancien laws. Don't worry about Morgan, she is strong. If anyone challenges her I know she wins."

He wondered then if Chase was worried about the fate of the pack, if his concerns about the future Alpha made him worry about Emile's offer and his views on humans, being part of the pack, accepted among them. "Morgan see's like me." He attempted to reassure. "Be what you want when you are with us."

"Yes, Mac, I had considered that," Elijah remarked dryly. "But despite what you may think, I'm not such an awful judge of character. I've dealt with more than a few killer Wolves before... and I've also dealt with a few who were just trying to get by without harming anyone. I know it'll never make you any less upset about my decision, but I could tell Chase was the latter. And, well, with an angel all but threatening me into submission... I didn't want anyone to do anything rash." Elijah shrugged. The mention of Alaric had made him even more nervous; Mackenzie was clearly angry with the angel, too. But he seriously doubted she knew about him and Ash.

William scoffed. "You can be an arrogant son of a bitch, you know that? You put this Colony at risk on a hunch?"

Elijah looked back at him blankly. "Yes, Will, I let a werewolf live... and now by the sound of it you're using him as a double agent on that same hunch. So unless the two of you plan to roast me over an open fire next..." he said, glare flicking between them.

Will raised one hand to rub at his forehead in exasperation. "We'll finish talking about this later." He sighed before standing up. "I'm going to go find the nurse, see how you're healing and if you can be moved into townwhen the time comes." Will spoke without looking back at Eli, giving Mac's shoulder a gentle squeeze as he stepped past her chair to exit the hospital room.

Elijah looked cautiously at Mackenzie, giving her an apologetic smile. "If you're going to kill me, do me a favor and poison the next batch of beaver tails. At least I can die a content man."

fff_zps4rxngdyd.png

"Was just curious, not all packs work the same way. I've seen a pack where the Beta became the Alpha." It was both small-talk and knowledge at the same time. "Just finding out more about what I'm getting into." Not to mention the questions he really wanted to ask were off limit for the night.

"So, come tomorrow is there going to be some sort of pack initiation I should be aware of? You don't do hazings or anything do you? I never went to college but I heard the stories." He was being sarcastic though the question was real. It was clear he wasn't accepted into the pack yet, which was why Emile had told Malcolm to remain nearby Chase for the most part.

Solomon nodded as he listened to Sandy talk. It seemed like she was having a hard time with the hunters in the Colony. "Calling you a civilian may be a stretch, but I think I understand where the hunters come from. They don't see you as a combatant, capable of taking down werewolves, vampires, or demons. So they treat you as an outcast. However anyone who can treat the wounds of hunters is someone who deserves respect." Solomon said looking to the Nurse, watching her, hoping she could find the sincerity in his voice. Solomon thought for a moment, as if trying to decide whether to tell her everything or not. After a few moments he decided if he was going to tell anyone It was going to be Sandy. After all eventually the entire colony would know.
" I came to Vitae for several reasons. I'm on the run from demons who hold an old grudge against my family, I am searching for a powerful book of contracts created by my ancestor, and I came to warn those who would listen of the end that is coming." Solomon looked away from Sandy for a moment and back out into the Sky , " Sorry for all the doom and gloom. Didn't mean to ruin the mood."
NanLia NanLia

iryB73Q.jpg

Sandy was rather surprised hearing Solomon's explanation as to why the hunters didn't respect her -and why they should. She knew it was the truth of things, but it certainly didn't make her feel any better about any of it. At the very least he and Elijah had both been very kind to her recently, though she wasn't certain if that was because of her new friendship with Ashley: that the budding match maker had put more than few good words in for her.

She stared, rather dumbfounded as he told her why he had come. Demons, she understood, but then he continued. "I'm sorry." She said after a moment of silence. "The end is coming?"

dx0HE3H.jpg

Mackenzie did not look away from Eli as Will made his way out of the room. She continued to watch him calculating, his final comments about poisoning him with beaver tails had done nothing to lighten her mood. She was attempting to determine how far she could trust him. While she understood his reasoning behind keeping Chase a secret, even with the angel swearing him to silence, it would never had stopped her from alerting those she cared about, and it honestly frightened her that he would keep such a thing silent from them.

It was a time before she spoke, and when she did it was slow and even. "Is there anything else I need to know, Elijah." She would give him this one opportunity. "Any other wolves hiding in with the sheep? A vampire I don't know about? Anything at all you can think of that might come to harm any one of us?"

Emile nodded, "Yes, juene meutes. Er. Young packs do that, they have petit famille, not enough blood to challenge. They need every member. Courir de la nuit is ancient. Blood of the first wolf." He smiled then, he was proud of his ancestry, of his pack's prowess. He paused then, once more head tilted aside as Chase went on about college? Hazing? At the very least he understood one of the words he'd used: initiation.

He gave a light chuckle, "Oh, oui. Vous mangez le coeur d'un être cher." He teased, knowing the man would never know what he said. "Be easy, ma p'tit choit," He pointed towards the now empty plates at the table in the small kitchenette. "That makes you part of my pack." He said, "Ritual. You accept offered food. Some Alpha's are .. meaner? than others, make the loner eat something répugnant. I offer, make food. You accept and eat." He smiled. "Bienvenue."

Solomon nodded at Sandy's question, " I'm not what is considered to be a regular hunter. I'm part of a group called the Men of Letters. They were established by my ancient namesake in order to organize hunters in the effort to fight against the threat of the Supernatural. As wonderful as that all sounds the reality of it is the entire organization is splintered based on the country it is in and no one listens to each other. I'm certain that will be our downfall... anyway the end. After the apocalypse happened I went into hiding and used scrying spells to keep ahead of my pursuers. One day while I was scrying I got caught into a different kind of frequency and learned about a force capable of ending all of creation. They called it the First Sin. A corrupt beast locked away by God towards the beginning of creation. No human seems to know what it actually is, but it's powerful enough for what gods remain on earth to rally to keep it under wraps. If it's so dangerous I'm not sure why Heaven hasn't done anything about it either. At any rate I learned that a human organization is actively trying to free the beast thinking they can control it."

Elijah wasn't surprised when his attempt at a joke fell flat, having done nothing to assuage Mac's very obvious anger toward him. He hadn't expected anything different, but it was instinct for him. Will called it "deflecting with humor"... and it never got anywhere with him, either.

He didn't bother with it when Mackenzie asked her next question, maintaining eye contact. His thoughts went to Ashley-May and her secret... but there was no danger there. Not at the moment, at any rate. He doubted that would do anything to comfort Mac if she ever discovered Elijah had known about the pregnancy and kept it from her, but there was no way he'd betray Ash's trust in him. And so with a straight face, he replied, "No. Nothing else. I know you'll find it difficult to trust anything I say at this point, but I want you to understand."

He took a deep breath before continuing, "We all make choices based on our past experiences. My experiences with werewolves have been quite different from your own," he said. "Maybe that's a bad thing -- maybe it makes me too sympathetic or a danger to those around me." Eli shrugged.

"But I need you to know that if I honestly believed Chase was a danger to anyone else in the Colony, I would have cried wolf from the tallest building in Vitae or -- better yet -- killed him myself. Angel or no angel. I wanted you both to know, but... after Pan arrived the timing never seemed right and I didn't want to risk innocent blood on your hands or mine. I don't expect this to change your opinion, but..." his voice trailed off as his hands curled up anxiously around the hem of the blanket covering him.

Chase took a moment to mull over the fact that he'd already done the ritual, "Very subtle, you didn't even tell me. Here I thought you were making me a sandwich because you liked me." Chase snorted in his amusement. Everyone just seemed to be giving him the go around today whether they meant to or not.

Chase raised his right leg up and propped it on his left, an old habit when he was sitting comfortably or waiting impatiently. "You know I don't understand French, that's twice in the last few minutes you've called me something. And if I tried to say what it was I'd butcher your language but you know what I'm talking about." Chase eyed the Alpha expectantly as he waited for the answer.

Ginny sighs, sitting on the edge of her inflatable mattress, tired. She's already beginning to feel the urge to hunt… she can't help it. She's already considered malnourished as far as blood is concerned, the instinct to get more will always be there when she gets hungry.

She looks down, pulling out her dagger to gaze at it. What do I do now? I behave as a rat, skulking through shadows, barely getting enough to eat, constantly afraid of the next attack, yet knowing it's the only way I can get what I need without hating myself. She shakes her head, getting up. I cannot live like this.

She steps outside the warehouse, looking up at the stars. She's been aware of the colony for some time, and made her base here so that maybe she could watch them. She's desperate for any kind of contact at this point, even knowing it might kill her. A grim smile forms on her lips. Worst case scenario, I will see you in purgatory more soon than I had planned.

She goes inside, and hastily eats her soup, grimacing a bit as she realizes it's sour. Ah, well. She grabs her blade, and puts on a plastic chestplate under her shirt. It's meant for fencing, but in case one of the hunters decides to shank her, this will at least make it harder to reach her heart.
