Eddie was born to Marie and Roland Gears, Roland was a decorated police Captain who worked in his family's garage when not with his family or work. His mother was a private investigator. Eddie has a twin sister named Dianne who worked with her father. During those days Eddie spent his time building machinery taken from alleys and dumpsters.

A tip was sent to Roland anonymously. He led a raid consisting of two SWAT teams and a sniper. The target was a drug and weapons manufacturing facility directed by Arthur and Alec Artino, associates of an unknown drug and weapons dealer During the Raid: Author, his wife, and youngest child were killed when Alec fired on Roland damaging drug equipment. Alec was left scarred and Roland was finished off by Arthur's eldest daughter: Jesse Artino. After his father died his mother worked more hours at her office and died of an overdose months after Roland's death.

Eddie, wanting to provide for his siblings too, turned to a life of crime joining a gang known as The Wolf's for years. The wolves took in all of the Orphans of the city giving them food and shelter in return for loyalty and at most 20 years of service. He learned many fighting skills from his years as the lieutenant of Wolf leader "Alpha ''. His duties detailed training the new recruits or “Pups' ' He generally resented the long speeches Alpha would make and the whole “Wolf' ' crap but the name worked making The Wolfs one of the most feared gangs in the lower areas of the city. Among the Wolf’s new recruits he met Hannah, A new recruit who he was smitten by. He trained her to the best of his abilities and eventually she was the Beta of The Wolves.

During those years he used tricks from his mother to try and find his Father's killer that began the chain of events that ruined his life. He led several heists in the years before discovering his abilities where he discovered his ability to teleport and his enhanced Aim. Drunk off his newfound power he attacked several Artino warehouses using weaponry he built. He raided one of the biggest facilities run by Alec who had grown in power becoming one of the drug lords inner circle. He encountered Jesse Artino and after a long battle he was killed by several of Alec's Thugs.

He awoke a month later in the abandoned warehouse that he had died in. All of his previous injuries from his fight were gone. But something was different when he returned. He heard a voice now, what he believed was the manifestation of his obsession with killing Alec and Jesse but was in actuality. a powerful mind manipulator. This voice claimed itself the reason for Eddie's return and Eddie joined him in a pact. The Voice would protect him if he worked for him. Eddie adopted the dual personas of Void and The Revenant.

Void is a vigilante who would be used for the less violent missions while The Revenant was a violent Anti-hero who would do anything to conquer his goals. Eddie has mostly used his Void alias when fighting crime but tales of a shadowy figure in a dark mask are whispered among the ranks of criminals. No one is aware of either identity and Eddie has purchased a false Identity and the failing Mechanics shop his father owned long ago. Now Eddie masquerades as Mechanic Roland Grey.

His twin sister is now his younger brother, Barry.Niether are aware of Eddie’s Resurrection and are currently living in a small apartment where for whatever reasons the vigilante Void has been spotted several times and defended them from criminals several times. The wolves operate to this day but Hannah is now the current Alpha, her predecessor becoming the new trainer for “Pups”. Eddie has worked with them and asked for leads when fighting other gangs. Hannah has tried to persuade him to rejoin their ranks but Eddie has remained adamant that he will not fight them but he wouldn't join them either. The few time heroes have fought Wolves Eddie has secretly helped them escape, not arousing any of his fellow hero’s attention. Or has he?

The voice has revealed himself to Eddie but will send messages of mission for Eddie to complete on his behalf as The Revenant serving as his Voice and FIst in the streets of the city. Eddie is killed in his master's name and in return The Voices' minions protect his family. If Eddie disobeys the Voice he has threatened to return the second life Eddie was given and slaughter the wolves and his family.

Backstory(optional): Both Hugin and Munin where human at one point and had a relatively good childhood. the 2 were nicknamed ravens mostly because of how smart they were but also because of their hair color. During their time growing up though they were kidnapped and experimented on during they older years. over time most and more of their body was taken away and replaced with machinery. veins replaced with wires and blood, skin now iron, bits and parts of their brain replaced with computering and circuit boards. soon enough they were more machine than human and nicknamed Hugin and Munin named after Odins crows. now under the command of an unknown organization they both are under a command to disable and/or kill an hero they encounter
