Running ahead with several of the archers, Yoshi had almost arrived at the place they had been leading them to until he heard one call out from the back of the group. It was something about a surprise attack or something of that nature. Confusion quickly washed over the dino's features and without hesitation, he turned back to observe the scene behind him. Much to his own surprise, the archers weren't lying. Something had joined them, but from this distance, he couldn't make out exactly what. A frown was quick to form on his face as he hurried to join the backline of archers.

"Get to safety," he stated simply. Even if they were probably more capable fighters than he was giving them credit for, he figured it was best to have them pull back and bolster the defenses of their own home rather than take to the frontlines like he planned to do. Besides, he had more reason to given none of his friends seemed to have made it as far in as he had. It meant all the more reason for him to retreat and rejoin them. He could only hope they were alright though.

Not waiting for the archers to respond, Yoshi took off in a sudden burst of speed. Blue orbs quickly scanned his surroundings as he moved and within moments he located his group once more and rushed over to them. However, they were no longer alone. A large mecha towered over Falcon, clearing having already attacked him. How unlucky could this guy get? Even the dino was impressed at his unlucky streak, though now wasn't the time to bring it up. Now was the time to act.

He offered no words as he hurried in and grabbed the egg he had created before. With no signs of hesitation, he launched his projectile at Kirby's mech and gave an irritated flare of his nostrils. "No hurt Yoshi's friends!"

As his own anger resurfaced, his eyes ran quickly over the mech. Despite already having launched an attack on it, he admittedly hadn't inspected it prior, but now that he had, he could see the familiar shape of Kirby. That only confused him more. Even so, he couldn't falter. He could figure out how to smooth it over later with the puffball if this really was him. For now, protecting his current allies was what he needed to do.

Stopping in front of the, Yoshi stood there protectively, showing now signs that he was going to back down or let this mech hurt his friends any more than it already had.

Mythra should have figured as much when she asked such questions. There was never any certainty behind any of these things and it wasn't as if any of them would have a real clue as to how it would play out. Even so, having some kind of backup plan would have been for the better. She supposed it didn't matter anyways, given she hardly wanted to agree to some fake wedding after all.

However, bits of the plan could still work. Declaring Toon Link dead was one part she could see working to their benefit. Another was him boarding the ship and arming the others while Krook was kept distracted. That was the part she needed to fill in though. If they weren't going to use the wedding as a way forward, then she needed to come up with something else. What else could she do though?

Mythra's nose wrinkled as she became engrossed in her own thoughts. There had to be some solution, if only her tired mind would work with her though. That was a problem of its own. It was as if her mind was full of static- not a single thought to be had. Even Pyra had grown quiet, leaving her without some form of backup to call upon to help with such a thing. All the idea formulating would have to come from her, and her alone.

For a few moments, the aegis stood in silence, allowing herself to rack her own mind. At a glance, it hardly seemed productive, but she was trying. A sigh slipped from her lips as her struggle continued and eventually she dropped a hand to a hip while the other moved to massage her temples. "I hardly want to go through with some wedding," she finally piped up after her long silence. "However, I do agree that we should play out Link being dead and try to stage an uprising against Krook." Pausing, Mythra slowly ran her fingers through her hair as she momentarily returned to her thoughts. It wasn't for long though.

"Link will stay here with the crystal while Pit and I return. We'll announce his death, and say we failed to bring back the crystal... Hell, we can lie about it shattering or something. I don't really care," she gave a shrug as she spoke. Honestly, the more angry the made the kremling, the better. It would keep him distracted from noticing Toon Link bordering the ship. "I assume at that point he'll get aggressive and if he's mad enough he probably tries to kill us or something. Who knows, but if he does then either Pit or I should challenge him to a duel of some sort. Hopefully that'll buy enough time for Link to arm the captives and allow us to gain the upper hand."

It wasn't the greatest of plans, and did rely on her or Pit being willing to fight a little longer, but it at least avoided the embarrassment that the wedding would bring upon her. Besides, if things didn't work, then they could always use it as a backup plan, even if she hated to. Who knows, maybe blurting it out if the duel idea didn't please him would catch him off guard. It was worth a shot.

As their planning came to an end, Mythra gave the young Hylian one last look before turning to follow Pit out onto the main deck. Unlike the angel, she paid little mind to the souls or even the reaper that still stood around. They were only distractions. It was a heartless thought to have, but she couldn't let her mind be pulled away from their goal- not now. She had to get the job done and not only assure that she and her companions were free, but that the others could return home as well.

Mythra's boots clicked against the wooden deck as she approached a rope that still connected the two ships. Without a second thought, she crossed it before approaching the Kap'n himself. As she did, she bore a stern expression, allowing fake traces of sorrow to be found in the corners of her brown eyes. It was her attempt at making it seem that she was barely holding herself together. While not the best acting, it would have to get her by.

"Hup-Ya is dead," the aegis boldly announced before dropping her gaze in a remorseful manner. "And your stupid Coconut Crystal shattered during the fight we had down there... All this was for nothing." A low growl rumbled in the back of her throat, as she continued to try and make her performance realistic. Dramatically raising her head, fake tears pricked at the corners of her eyes and her brows curled down in defeat. "I hope you're happy!"

Those words oozed with a certain kind of poison. The emotion behind them even surprised Mythra herself, but rage like that was easy for her to call upon. She had plenty of it after all. Now all she could do was hope that the kremling found it all believable.

───────────────────────────────────────────
Roxas was making good time on his approach to the Military Base, though the closer he drew, the more he felt a heavy presence looming over the area. It was clear something wasn't right, and he knew that much given Snake's reasons for wanting to come here, but feeling it was much more intense than he had thought. Quietly, his eyes scanned the area ahead, looking for some kind of indication for what may be going on. Unfortunately enough, he found his answer, and it wasn't one he had been wanting to find.

As the sight of Sephiroth tearing through the Jenoids played out before him, Roxas brought himself to a halt, allowing his mind to comprehend exactly what he was seeing. Who was in the right here? Was it the man he just watched slaughter the odd looking creatures, or vice versa? It was something the teen couldn't figure out from one interaction alone. There were too many questions to be had, and ones that he wouldn't be able to get answers to unless he pursued the white haired man. That left him with another question though- where had he gone?

Blue orbs quickly flickered around in search for any sign of Sephiroth, but as he surveyed the ground, nothing was to be found. It was as if the man had up and disappeared without a trace, or so that was what Roxas had though. He was prepared to move forward and give up on his search until a spark of light overhead pulled in his attention and drew his eyes skyward. That was when he finally found the man again, and from the looks of it he was intending on destroying the base with whatever magical spell he was conjuring. Despite his lack of knowledge on the whole ordeal at hand, he knew he couldn't stand by and let this place be blown to smithereens. Whether those inside were good or bad, Roxas didn't care. They were still lives at the end of the day.

Lowering his keyblade from his shoulder, the Nobody quietly looked it over. "Now would be a good time for both you keys to come out," he uttered while shifting his gaze to his empty hand. Sighing as nothing seemed to happen, Roxas briefly closed his eyes in attempt to compose himself and channel his usual anger. Maybe that would help. Even if it didn't, it would at least fuel him from whatever battle was awaiting him with the man in the sky.

His meditation was brief, but it wasn't entirely in vain. In a brief flash of light, a second keyblade formed in his left hand. Quickly it took the form of Oathkeeper, while his preexisting key allowed itself to shift into Oblivion. Feeling the weight of the second key in hand, a smirk quickly crossed Roxas' lips. He was ready now.

Without much though, his eyes flashed open once more and the keyblade wielder launched himself skyward, allowing his flight to immediately take over and give him a boost of speed. Because of this, he was able to close the distance between him and Sephiroth rather quickly, and as he neared the One-Winged Angel, he lifted both keyblades up, keeping them parallel to one another as he prepared his swing.

"I don't think so!" Roxas hissed out, finally making his presence vocally known. As soon as those words escaped his lips, he swung his two blades at Sephiroth in hopes of swiftly ending his attack before it could even really begin. He was determined to make sure just that happened. It was painted across his facial features- his brows furrowed in anger, his eyes holding a glint of confidence, and the edges of his mouth curled into a faint scowl. Everything showed he was ready to fight, even if he wasn't truly aware of what exactly he was up against.

The armored cyborg jumped back, its system recognizing the documented energy weapons. The automaton charged at link, brandishing a battle axe charged with electricity. The former hero of dreamland knew of the detailed records Haltman had on each hero, but its previous memories barely conflicted the programming.

His red eyes flickered back to life as he charged at link.

Kirby’s Brain…
The pink hero awoke within a strange place, filled with various foods and sweets he enjoyed. Time slowed down as he enjoyed the food that had appeared before him; before eventually a being appeared.

The being was simmaler in appearence to his enemy, Shadow Kirby; albeit, it’s red eyes. Kirby stared at his mirror, watching it stare at him before it spoke “Hello Kirby, it is a pleasure to meet you. I came her too talk.” The shadow version said before a price of cake appeared before Kirby.

The pink hero hungrily consumed the dessert, while his doppelgänger watched; his face contorting into a grin. “now, my unintelligent friend; I have a proposition. You will relinquish all control of your body. In return; I offer infinite amounts of sugary pastries.” Immediately, thousands of cakes appeared before the pair, making Kirby’s eyes widen in delight

Feeling as though the conversation had mostly concluded, Byleth gave a small dip of his head before his gaze averted off in the distance towards the stall where he had originally met Anna. It seemed the merchant had abandoned the area, but to his own luck, she had left things behind. Maybe some of it would be useful, though he had hardly cared for the weapons she had had on hand. He was more interested in other items, like a map of some sort. It was a long shot, but he saw no harm in looking around. "Pardon me."

After excusing himself, the professor moved himself in the direction of the stall, figuring he had some time while Zeke was still distracted by Layton's riddle. How much exactly, he wasn't sure, but hopefully enough to see his business through. Pushing the thought aside, he reached the stall and stepped into it. His eyes scanned the variety of weapons as they searched for anything useful. Humming softly to himself, Byleth crouched down behind the counter and began to rummage through the miscellaneous belongs that had been left behind. Unfortunately nothing seemed of use or even of interest to the swordsmen.

Continuing his search, he soon came across exactly what he had been hoping for- a map! Grabbing the rolled up map, he briefly unrolled it to confirm his finding. Once he was satisfied, he stood up to his full height once more and exited the stall.

It was too long before he returned, and it seemed it hardly had mattered that he had left. Things seemed mostly the same. That was good. Moving over to the makeshift table they had gathered around, Byleth lowered himself to sit at it. Without a word, he unrolled the map and began to study it in silence. He had to figure out where exactly they were and where would be the best place for them to go. Even with his knowledge of the world though, he felt it wouldn't be sufficient enough.

Green orbs scanning over everything before him, his finger moved to the location he assumed they were at and from there, he began to trace possible paths they could take forward, though it was admittedly hard to judge what exactly was the best option available to them. If something was wrong, there was no telling what places were safe after all. Finding himself conflicted, his brows creased and Byleth finally lifted his gaze.

"I apologize if I am interrupting your riddles," he spoke as he leaned back in his place. "But might you all join me in studying this map? I believe we might be able to find our path forward- although I admit I am not sure which places might be safe and which are not."

As much as he hated to admit to such a thing, it was the truth and he could not deny it. It made him wary, especially since they were in a part of the realm he had hardly experienced during his last visit. Still, Byleth knew he had to find some confidence in himself and lead this group forward. He was the one who knew the land the best after all.

“PI…..CHUUUUUUUUU!!”

On Sora’s signal Pichu pounced far up into the air and let loose a devastating Thunder, his and the boy’s attacks combining into a devastating clash of thundering lightning. The arena itself could hardly be seen as blinding electrifying light filled their vision, flashing almost like a strobe effect. Pichu’s veins are alive with electricity as he forces every spark of his power into the attack. It certainly wasn’t kind on the little Pokémon’s body, but it yielded results as the remaining Primids were zapped to a crisp, nothing but a black smudge on the ground. By Arceus Pichu almost couldn’t believe that the two of them had managed to unleash this sort of attack. He bet they were as strong as a mighty Zekrom!…Or that might be a bit of an exaggeration. Even then the two’s collective strength was nothing to laugh at, not in the slightest. As the light died down and the crackling booms nothing more than a simmer, the camp was filled with the smell of ash and ozone to an almost nauseating degree. And yet, among the stench was a scent oh so sweeter. It was the smell of victory.

They did it. He nearly couldn’t believe it.

“Pichu!”

Pichu wins!

1685516866887.png

Despite Pichu falling to the earth utterly exhausted and paralyzed, he couldn’t wipe the smile from his face even if he tried. How could he after such a display of strength and the taste of victory sweet on his tongue? The forest was saved, the animals free, and Primids defeated. He’d pull himself up into a sitting position, read to head over to Sora when his eyes suddenly fell upon a beautiful sight.

Blue glowing spheres of dreamlike light rose from the remains of what once had been their foes, gentle and illuminating the forest like the precious glow of an Illumise. Pichu gazed on in awe as they floated upward, glittering the sky and sparkling right beside the sea of stars above.

Pichu took in a deep breath, paying no mind to the sting of his paralyzed state, far too absorbed in the beauty before him.

“Pichu…”

Was Pikachu looking up at the very same sky? For even a brief moment, were the two connected by their sight? Did she, no matter how close nor how far, know that he was thinking of her in these very same moments? As the blue lights began to dim, returning the forest to its solitary darkness, Pichu softly exhaled, the utterance of a promise slipping from his tongue. A promise that need not be said aloud, for all that mattered was that it be kept in the confines of his heart and the spark of his soul.

1685516866887.png

“We did it!”

Suddenly Pichu was swept up from the ground and into the tight embrace of his friend, the Pokémon immediately returning to his joyful state as he playfully snuggled into Sora’s warm embrace. As if to call back, Pichu returned Sora’s cheer twice fold

“Pi chu pi! Pi chu pi! Pi-”

-Only to shock himself from the excitement, which certainly didn’t feel so great added on top of his already paralyzed state. Maybe the celebration could be put on hold for a five minute break.

Thankfully when Sora got tackled by the other creatures of the forest, this would free up the little Pokémon from Sora’s hold, though not so thankfully this meant Pichu was sent flying in the other direction, destined to hit the earth.

But as two bunny shaped creatures hopped onto the scene, Pichu wouldn’t meet his dirt filled fate. They were the buneary from oh so long ago, and using their fur as cushioning, Pichu instead fell onto a pile of fluffiness much to his joy. And as if it couldn’t get any better, bundled up in the buneary’s arms were an Oran berry and a Cheri berry, just what he needed.

Thanking the buneary, Pichu got to work scarfing down the berries, finding his paralysis soon gone and his overall condition somewhat healed. All the while Sora took to chatting with a particular Nopon who could be of help.

As the little Pokémon made his way over, he could hear bits and pieces of their conversation, though frankly very little of it seemed actually fruitful in content. Really, there mostly just seemed to be a lot of shouting on the little Nopon’s end. Or well, until he finally provided some helpful information regarding where they were, giving a name to their location. The Ancient Floating Island.

Pichu’s ears drooped. Floating as in, “definitely not on the ground type” of floating? Or was there some new definition for floating that Pichu wasn’t aware of? No? Well, that was just wonderful. But even weirder than that was the mention of a floating island…wait a second!

Pichu scrunched his face in concentration, as if trying to remember something.

Back in the forest, when he was still with Pikachu he remembered…something? Flying through the sky on one particular day. It was so high up that it could have been a plane, a helicopter, or whatever! But something about it had seemed off, like really off. And, that was around when the forest’s health started to decline. Call him crazy but maybe it was all connected? Detective Pichu would need to investigate!

But first and more importantly, Sora reminded Pichu of why they’d gone into the woods in the first place. Time to figure out how to get to the stadium, and what better way than catching up with his old pal.

Saluting Sora, Pichu scanned the crowd for any sign of Fletchling and just his luck he was able to spot the little bird Pokémon amongst the crowd.

“Pichu!!”

A moment later and the Fletchling might have already flown off, but thankfully they were quickly alerted to Pichu’s call, as with a friendly chirp Fletchling cut the distance between the two, flying over and playfully pecking the top of Pichu’s head in hello, the closest thing Flecthling could actually get to giving him a boogie.

“Pi pi pi pi!” Laughing, Pichu swatted Fletchling’s beak away, joyfully patting the other Pokémon’s wing and chatting it up with them.

“Pichu Pichu pi pi?”

“Fletch fletch! Fletchling fletchling fletch!”

It’d been so long since Pichu had seen any of the other Pokémon from the tournament save for big sis Pikachu so no wonder he wanted to catch up with his buddy. The two had their little back and forth, chatting about what had happened the past year, how they’ve been, any interesting gossip, and so on. Frankly despite the dire state of the realm, the two somehow managed to dodge any topic above the menial, as if it were any average Tuesday afternoon. But as the conversation began to dawdle, Pichu finally remembered the point of calling Fletchling over and got down to business.

“Pichu pi pi Pichu Pichu chu chu pi pi. Pi pi chu chu, chu chu pi pi! Pi chu pi pi Pichu pi pi chu Pichu pi pi chu pi?”

The Fetchling tilted its head, taking a moment to really take in Pichu’s words, before bobbing his head up and down in a nod and beckoning him to follow along.

“Pichu!”

Finally, he faced all of the other animals that still remained in the area. Giving them one final smile, he’d do a very quick lap around to say his goodbyes, thanking the buneary duo for all of their help (and the berries), giving the Awoofy all the scitches and pets his tiny little hands could spare, and so forth. Though he might miss leading an army of forest inhabitants to battle, he couldn’t help but feel that after this they’d be alright on their own. And if anyone else had the bright idea of trying to take advantage of the forest creatures, boy would they be in for a surprise!

Pichu called out to Sora before catching up with Fletchling, diving into the brush of the forest while Fletchling weaved between the trees.

1685516866887.png

After some time Pichu would finally reach the very edges of the forest and the very edge of the island, revealing the Nopon's words to be in fact completely true. Below the cliff was quite literally nothing but thick fluffy clouds. Though as fluffy as they were, Pichu held doubt that they’d do much of anything to slow a fall to certain death. Pichu slowly edged closer to the cliff, examining it up and down as if it’d suddenly sprout a safe means of descent. Yet he was only rewarded with a chunk of earth below his feet breaking off, falling into the endless blue void and doing little to quell Pichu’s worry.

“Pi….”

Looking over to Fletchling for any advice, he’d find that the bird was long gone, having swiftly flown back into the forest as soon as his job had been accomplished.

Wonderful.

Pichu’s ears fell, thinking long and hard for any possible solution, only earning himself a headache in the process. Just what was a Pokémon to do? Heck, he almost wished Pokémon Trainer were here with Charizard to the rescue. But since there wasn’t a chance of that happening Pichu instead looked towards the other brown haired and red wearing boy he knew. Perhaps Sora might have a possible solution? Pichu was open to ideas so long as it didn’t involve falling to their certain doom.

Princess Peach

"Goons, huh?" Peach muttered in confirmation once she heard the Lake Scientists' speculation, more to herself than anyone else present.

She couldn't help but slightly clench her fist: She should have known the stadium would be where this Lunaris guy planted his underlings... The Mushroom Princess also wasn't too eager to be going somewhere she KNEW was crawling with minions... But...

She could only hope Mario was FAR BEHIND her, not ahead of her... If he were, he would surely be at the stadium by now... That was probably the first place Mario would look for her once he got here...

She should be there, just in case...

Unfortunately for the lovestruck Pink Princess, luck was truly NOT on their side: The nurse (Peach assumed) from Pikachu's world and the Lake Scientist from Zelda's (this was also an assumption, but a very strong one) then informed them that one of the... What were they called?

Legendaries?

One of the Legendary creatures, The Sky High Pokemon Rayquaza, suffered a visit from either Lunaris or one of his cronies and hasn't been the same since... The pink Princess would safely bet her life that was NO coincidence.

"The mighty green dragon of the sky... If we help it, it might turn the sky back to normal again and is probably WHY the sky is in such disarray to begin with... Darn you, Lunaris..." The Mushroom Princess thought to herself with contempt, slowly feeling her anger rising and bubbling like a boiling kettle.

She knew if Toadsworth were here he would tell her to try not to lose her temper but it was getting increasingly difficult the more she was witness to that monster's havoc and the consequences of their destruction...

Lunaris MUST be stopped. This was a FACT... And a mission the Pink Princess had no intention of failing: She had JUST gotten friends in this realm and she had no desire to LOSE THEM to some power-hungry madman.

As Pikachu's ears raised in alarm Peach was glad to know she wasn't the only one who saw the urgency in the matter, and probably knew just how important it was they help the Sky High Dragon... Bringing back the sky was a good step to getting this realm back to normal... It seemed as if Sonic's young friend was concerned about them as well...!

Zelda and Samus were taking care of more urgent matters: Getting Dark Pit to stay with them and be on their side... And it appeared before they've even successfully recruited him they already had a mission in which they would need his help...

Peach didn't want to think like this, but she had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach that Dark Pit being here was already a sign the Super Smash Sisters were
going to need the Dark Angel's help to restore Rayquaza...

The next step was to gain the Angel's help.

This was going to be NO easy task... Dark Pit was not as noble as Pit, nor as dedicated: Even if they told him that there was a creature in need Peach was sure it wouldn't change his stance...

Some incentive was in order.

"Dark Pit... If you can help us help Rayquaza out, then perhaps WE can help YOU: Are you looking for someone? Pit, perhaps? Samus' ship can cover more ground than you can, even WITH your wings... It may be prudent to join us if you seek to accomplish your goals efficiently," Peach offered as she approached the trio and warned, "Surely with all of Lunaris' minions running around it won't be an easy task to LOCATE Pit, let alone confront him if Pit is swarmed himself... We can help with that. With our joined forces you'll stand a better chance against Lunaris AND finding Pit than you do alone. What do you say: You scratch our back and we scratch yours? Reciprocity might go a long way for you in this realm..."

Jigglypuff

As the Realm roared and trembled in the wake of its impending destruction...

uwu-anime.gif

A tiny little diva of a Balloon Pokemon floated high above the clouds...

She was Jigglypuff and all she wanted was to sing for the world!

"Jiggly~! Jigglypuff~! Puff~! (Gosh! I can't wait until I find someone to sing to~!)" The little pink balloon singer thought to herself as she floated above the land, looking for an audience.

The realm may be devastated and the world was surely out of order, but that didn't stop this tiny, round Diva from wanting to sing her little heart out!

Who didn't need a merry melody to cheer them up in their time of need?

As she huffed and puffed and floated above the air, into the skies, and soaring above the trees and seas, she was SO desperate to find someone, ANYONE, to listen to her singing that The little pink Diva didn't quite notice the STORM brewing her way!

Oh no!

A little floater like herself would surely be blown away and torn to shreds by the winds! She had to find someplace to land in the middle of all that water, quick!

theocracy-metal-music.gif

Luckily for the little pink Diva... It appeared there was a niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice looking place to land in the middle of the sea to shelter from the winds and rain!

"Jiggly~! Jiggly Jigglypuff~! Puuufff~! (Whew! This looks like a nice place to have landed on!)" Jigglypuff stated as her tiny little pink feet touched the ground upon her graceful landing...!

Wait a minute...

Jigglypuff knew what this place was...

It was a GHOST SHIP!

And, usually, in Ghost ships...

ljmeMg.gif

There were Ghost-type Pokemon!!!

This was her chance! Surely there was NO WAY AT ALL GHOSTS could fall asleep during her singing, RIGHT?!

The little pink Balloon Pokemon rushed deeper into the Ship, eagerly searching for Ghosts to sing to!

Eventually, she ran into... Oh! There were PEOPLE on this ship! People she had seen before!!!! They seemed to be fighting yet again, much like before, and Jigglypuff knew JUST WHAT TO DO!

"Jiggly~! (Hello~!)" The little pink Diva introduced herself as she popped into the scene from above, adding, "Jiggly~! Jiggly~! Puff puff puff puff~! (You all look like you could use a song!)"

Mwl8.gif

And so, she sang for them the song of her people!

>> ^ Click dat ^ <<

"Jiggly~? Jiggly jiggly Puff~? Puff~? (Well? What did you think? Did my song help you?)" The little round Diva asked once her concert was done and she looked around, desperately hoping to see happy and inspired faces when---

THEY HAD ALL FALLEN ASLEEP DURING HER SINGING?!??!??!?!

WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN!?

WAS HER SINGING THAT BORING?! DID SHE BORE THEM?!

Hmph!!!

It would seem The Balloon Pokemon's quest for a captive audience continues... Surely, someday, she would find someone who would STAY AWAKE and LISTEN to her songs...

BUUUUUT FOR NOW----

200w.gif

It was time to show these people what happens when they fall asleep during her concert...

Jigglypuff style!!!!!!!!!!!

After her revenge was extracted the pink little Diva huffed and puffed... And floated her way away, leaving the room and the Ghost Ship just as suddenly as she had arrived, determined to find an audience who WON'T fall asleep to her singing...!

"Give me a minute, guys! Imma join you in second! Just gotta-AH! Get some leverage...!"

"Archers, form the line!" The archers line next to one another and draw their arrows "Take aim!" All of the archers point the arrows at the metal menace, while the others were still in the crosshairs.

Captain Falcon takes notice and shouts out to warn the others "Oh shoot! Guys, move! Duck! Stop, drop, and roll! All the above! Anything! They're about to let it loose!"

"FIRE" The archers let their arrows loose as they fly towards the robot.

Kirby
Within the heroes subconscious, Kirby was eating the various pastry’s left behind by his new friend. Kirby had found various objects in the strange world, but while he explored the world, he had a nagging thought that he needed to do something. He didn’t remember the last few days, but before he could wonder why, another cake appeared before him.

The mechanical behemoth continued his charge as the arrows bounced off the armor it wore, barely denting the metal. The mech drew the sword and was about to attack when the energy spears shattered his armor, making it fall over in a smoking mess. The mech gif too it’s feet after a moment and attempted to fly away, but its flight gear had been damaged. The mech crashed into a tree, launching the pilot into the ground

why is kirby trying to kill them and what exactly is that new power of his.
he gentured at the archers to cover him before turning around and smashing his sword and shield togeher to get shadow's attention.
after doing that he gentured towards kirby, a double attack from both sides. if he breaks this mechanical upgrade that kirby has maybe that will fix the situation.

Toon Link & Pit
Where: On the sea, aboard the Black Scourge
With: Pyra/Mythra ( Ploegy Ploegy )

"SHATTERED?!" Krook shrieked at Mythra. "Impossible! The Crystal Coconut is a relic of incredible power!" Krook's upperlip lifted in a snarl as he thrusted his hooked hand into the Aegis's face. "Don't think you can fool me, wrench! Y'have the coconut! Hand it over!"

"We don't have it, Krook!" Pit shouted at the Kremling, standing by Mythra. As an angel, he was a terrible liar. It was a good thing he didn't need to. Pit's anger and revulsion was real, and he could not hide it. "Some of your crew have just died! Don't you feel anything for them?"

Krook roared in the disguised angel's face, "The only thing that matters to me is me treasure! If the Crystal Coconut is in pieces as ye say, then go back in there and get them!"

The Kremling raised his head to see the Ghost Ship sailing away. The Reaper had severed the ropes keeping the two ships together. Now that the treasure within the ship had been taken, there was no more fun to be had. The Ghost Ship must make its way to the Underworld. Krook shouted with rage. His long tail grabbed a nearby Kremling by the neck, and the Kap'n tossed the unfortunate toward the departing ship.

"No! NO! Stop it! Get the coconut!"

The pirate screamed as he fell short of the Ghost Ship and dropped into the waters with a splash. Krook threw two more pirates at the ship with the same results. Madness blazing in his blood red eyes, he whirled upon Mythra and Pit, sword drawn and pointed at them. "Ye'll have wished you'd perished with the Zola! You two, tie 'em up tight! The rest of ye bilgerats, get after that Ghost Ship! I'll flay the hide off of any o' yer that's idlin'! Now, GO!"

The crew scrambled to obey, all determined to avoid their Kap'n's wrath. Before a Kremling could lay a claw on Mythra or Pit, Jigglypuff suddenly appeared on the deck! The Balloon Pokemon, undisturbed by the fact that she was surrounded by bloodthirsty pirates, began singing her soothing lullaby. The chaos came to a stop as Jigglypuff's song worked its magic on pirate and captive alike. Pit tried to fight against the overwhelming sleepiness, but resistance was futile. The Ghost Ship sailed away to the Underworld. The crew of the Black Scourge snored peacefully on the rain-soaked deck, dead to the world as the galleon was enveloped by the storm!

The night sky and the rolling storm clouds provided excellent cover. With the crew of the Black Scourge distracted by Mythra and Pit's return, Toon Link snuck his way to the main deck of the Ghost Ship and used his hookshot to pull himself to a gun port near the aft of the Black Scourge. He slipped inside and hid himself behind a pile of cannonballs. The little Hylian took in his surroundings. The gun deck was free of pirates, thank the goddesses! Keeping as silent as possible, Toon Link made his way to where he was certain the weapon stores were kept. As he did, he heard a soft, very familiar voice singing on the deck above. It took a moment for Toon Link to realize who that was, and he let out a startled grunt before abandoning stealth and making a run for the weapons cache.

Not good! Not good at all! He had to get to the weapons before... before...

Toon Link's steps became slow and sluggish. His eyelids drooped. The goddesses did seem to be on Toon Link's side as the boy fell asleep behind a pile of crates, well-hidden.

Pit was stirred into wakefulness by the howling of storm winds and the heavy pelting of cold rainwater on his face. There was also a very annoying itch on one of his hidden wings. The cherub grunted irritably, (he was having such a nice dream!) as he raised his head and tried to shake the water off himself. His eyes snapped open upon realization that he couldn't move his body!

He and Mythra had been tied to the main mast!

Pirates and sailors, also awakened by the rain, fought the harsh winds and blinding rain to secure the sails and fasten their lifelines. Krook stood before the two captives, the smeared marking drawings of stars and swirls on his face doing little to lessen the krocodile's menacing appearance. Lightning flashed, and the mad Kap'n' threw his head back to laugh.

"HA-HARR! What lovely weather we're havin' tonight, eh, lads?" He brought his grinning face close to the two fighters. "Now, what shall I do with the two o' yer? Yer both bold fighters, eh? Why don't we see how well ye fight the sea 'n' storm! I could toss ye overboard with yer limbs tied up! Ah... that'd be too easy, though. It'd be a quick show fer me. It wouldn't be much entertainment!" Krook looked to Mythra. "Fer you, my lil' lady, perhaps I should have ye tied to the bowsprit! I've been meanin' to put a pretty lil' somethin' there to add a touch o' beauty to me ship! Ye'll get a real up close look at the waves too, ha-harr!"

Krook's attention turned to Pit as the angel-turned-pirate tried to lunge at him despite being tied to the mast. "Leave her alone, blackhearted scum! Untie us and we'll see who gets tossed overboard!"

"Still full o' spirit, eh, Pike, me lad?" Krook responded. He smiled sadistically. "I'll have ye tied to the top o' the mainmast! There ye'll remain 'til the seagulls pick the flesh from yer bones! The rain 'n' wind oughta douse that fire in yer. If not, then hunger, thirst, and exposure will. Yer death will be slow 'n' agonizing! I'll break you yet!" Krook straightened as he watched Pit snarl and struggle against his bonds. "Arr, I can see it in yer eyes how badly y'want to kill me! Ah, you 'n' so many others! But yer just like a raindrop on the ocean's surface: there 'n' gone! Nothing!"

Watching Pichu salute him before beginning his search put a smile on Sora's lips. It seemed like the rodent had some idea of who he might be looking for. That was good. It would give Sora some time to relax himself, though he doubted there was much time for rest at this point. Something seemed to be very wrong in the realm, even if he wasn't sure exactly what it was. Meemee's words told him that much, though he wasn't sure how exactly to put it all together. Maybe it was better to find out than try and think it over in advance. Besides, thinking had never been a strong suit of his. Shaking his head at the thought, the teen quietly ruffled his hair as he continued to wait.

Luckily it didn't seem too long. While he had zoned out for a few moments, Sora could hear the chattering between Pichu and one of the other creatures- one which he presumed was another Pokemon. The sounds of the two went in one ear and out the other, proving that they keyblade wielder was in his own little world. That was until he saw the electric mouse giving his last goodbyes to the animals around them.

Snapping from the emptiness of his own mind, the boy gently picked up Meemee from his lap and placed him on the ground beside him before climbing to his feet in a rush. The last thing he wanted to happen was for him to be left behind, though he doubted Pichu would do such a thing to him. Even so, Sora needed to keep pace.

Turning towards Meemee, the Awoofy and the Sabrecub, a grin formed upon Sora's face and he gave them a cheerful wave of his hand. "You guys take care, okay? Watch over the forest," he told them, though he wasn't sure if the Awoofy or Sabrecub would even understand him. Watching the three bob their heads in unison, teen let a light hearted chuckle rumble in the back of his throat. "Pichu and I will make sure to take care of whatever is going on. I promise!"

Excitement seemed to flash in the eyes of the three and Meemee happily began bouncing in place. "Smash Pow Heroes gonna save world! Yay! Yay! Yay!"

Laughing the nopon's words off, Sora turned to face Pichu once again. Seeing his companion already following in the Fletching's direction before calling out to him was more than enough to get the boy moving. Sprinting after the two Pokemon, he did his best to keep close, though he did lag behind for most of their journey. At least he hadn't gotten lost. That was what mattered.

Arriving at the forest's edge, he was met with the reality of their situation. Meemee's words had been true. One more step and he could easily be off the island, but also be plummeting towards whatever awaited him below. Sora didn't want to find out what that was. Blue eyes quietly looking out at the sea of clouds that greeted them, a soft gasp of awe managed to slip from his lips. The view was incredible, even if it wasn't what he had hoped to encounter.

It was clear they only had one option open to them, even if Sora didn't like it all too much. If only he had been smart enough to bring his Gummi Ship, then things could have been different, but for now, his own flight would have to do, even if it posed some possible dangers. Pulling his gaze from the clouds and moving it towards Pichu, the keyblade wielder crouched down before extending a hand. "I'll have to fly us to the Stadium." Carefully picking up the electric mouse, he lifted him up on to his head. "Hold on tight, but don't pull too hard, okay?"

Not waiting for any kind of confirmation, Sora took in a deep breath before launching himself off the side of the island. For a few seconds, he let himself freefall through the air as he adjusted to the sudden change, but before he could fall into the pillow of fluffy clouds below, his magic kicked in, and small glimmers indicted as much. Feeling himself stabilize, a laugh escaped his mouth and a blissful expression made itself present upon his features. "Nothing like feeling the wind against your face, huh, Pichu?"

His words made it seem as if he had no worry in the world, even if such a thing was far from the truth. He refused to let it appear any other way. Confidence was key after all and in his eyes, worrying would only make things worse. For now, all he could do was push on until they arrived. He could only hope that they wouldn't encounter the castle Meemee had mentioned, or even any other kinds of trouble along the way. Smooth sailing sounded like a lot to ask for though.

Pushing his concerns aside, Sora focused his eyes ahead and forced his mind to stay on track. He had to remember that he was the only one who could fly, thus he'd have to keep steady. Any sudden movements might cause the poor rodent on his head to fall off, and while he would likely be able to save him with no issues, he didn't want to scare the poor Pokemon too much. They had already been through a lot. Giving the mouse some kind of break was the least he could offer.

Gliding steadily through the sky, the two's journey was a rather pleasant, albeit quiet one. Occasionally, the sound of birds beneath them could be heard, but for the most part it was silent. Everything was going too perfectly, and though Sora was grateful for it, it also made him feel on edge. His eyes constantly scouted the area in front of them, but nothing seemed out of place. However, the clouds were beginning to become thick around them, making it more difficult to see.

Should he fly higher? Maybe lower? He wasn't sure. Admittedly such things had never crossed his mind before. It was all new to him. Even when driving his Gummi Ship clouds were never a problem. A solution would never come to him though. As if out of nowhere, a laser shot out at Sora from beyond the cloud cover. Luckily for him, the shot barely missed, even without him making any kind of movement to avoid it. However, its sudden appearance was enough take the teen entirely off guard.

"WHAAAAA?!" he squeaked out, only to have another beam already on its way towards him. "Hold on tight, Pichu! It's about to get bumpy!"

Swiftly dodging the oncoming blast with a quick twist to the side, Sora momentarily steadied himself long enough to summon his keyblade in hand. Even if he couldn't see what was attacking him just yet, he wanted to be prepared for when he did. As another laser was shot at him, he burst forward with no fear- diving head first into the cloudy cover that awaited. That was enough to reveal the strange golden eye that had been firing at him. "AH HAH!"

Spiraling at the weird sentry, his keyblade quickly collided with it, sending it to plummet towards the ground below. Success! Problem solved.

WRONG!

Before he could even think to celebrate his small victory, more of the eyes locked on to him. His problems only had worsened and with no warning, beams were rained upon him, forcing him to think quickly.

With a burst of speed, Sora launched himself forward to avoid the attacks, but only more would come. All ideas of offense were completely off the board. Defensive maneuvers were all he could hope for, but even then, as he flew forward, more eyes locked onto him, only putting him in a worse position than he already had been. Throwing out his keyblade in attempt to take out a few eyes only brought more attention to himself as well and his key was forced to dissipate. It was a lose-lose situation. But where were these eyes even coming from? Despite his rapid movements, blue orbs flickered about trying to find a possible source for all the attacks, but that would only distract him more.

SLAM!

Pain instantly surged through Sora's body as he unknowingly slammed into the side of Lunaris' flying Citadel. Between the cloud cover and the golden eyes, it hadn't even caught his attention. Fortunately for him, he'd be the one taking the blow and not Pichu, however, the sudden jolt caused his magic to cut out. The boy slid slowly down the side of the castle walls, still dazed by the impact of the collision. Soon enough he reached the bottom and collapsed on the ground that hovered along with the Citadel.

A groan slipped from the boy's lips. What was happening....? Sora's mind raced to find that answer as his vision tried to regain itself. All was a blur. Bits of grays, blues and whites cut through his vision, but nothing was concrete. His other senses came through much faster though. The feeling of wind across his body caused his mind to jolt back into reality. Eyes widening as the gears in his mind began turning, he sharply breathed out: "PICHU!"

In a panic, Sora forced his vision to return to him. Much to his surprise, he wasn't falling through the sky like he had thought. No, he was on solid ground. That was a relief. Letting a long sigh out, the keyblade wielder allowed his face to rest against the stone path under him once more- even if it was extremely uncomfortable. "I hurt all over..." he mumbled out. "Are you at least okay, Pichu?"

It didn't take long for Yoshi to notice his order to the archers had been completely ignored. Falcon's call to look out was more than enough to tell him that. Talk about being disrespected. Sure, he could understand wanting to help, but it did them no good at all and if they did fail here, their settlement was likely left unguarded because of their decision not to fall back like he had suggested. How annoying.

Huffing softly, the dino knew that right now he couldn't worry about it. His main concern had to be himself. Even his own comrades had to have a lower priority, though he doubted they really needed his help anyways. They were strong in their own right and Yoshi understood that. While he could easily use his speed to pull them off to the side and away from the arrows, he figured they'd dodge in their own ways. Displacing them in the middle of a fight would put them in a worse position after all.

Keeping that in mind, Yoshi pushed himself towards the side, just managing to reach the edge of the archers' attack as it rained upon the ground. Quietly looking at the arrows, he wondered what they had even hoped to accomplish. He might not be the brightest, but even he was smart enough to know average arrows would hardly make a dent in a mech like the one Kirby currently was using. Even a volley of them would like ding off it, hardly leaving a dent. He supposed it didn't matter.

It wasn't as if he could judge them for it. He had attacked the bot with an egg which accomplished nothing. It wasn't as if he could do much else though. Maybe sticking off to the side was his best play- at least until he was an opening he could work with. It felt like a cowardly action to take, but he'd only be getting in Shadow and Link's way if he tried helping.

Professor Layton & Luke

"And the tea is ready!" Luke exclaimed happily as he placed the teapot on the makeshift table. He turned his smiling face toward Byleth as he filled a teacup and placed it before the professor. It was a simple tea: nothing fancy, but satisfying. Luke then dug through his bag for condiments. "I'm afraid I only have sugar cubes."

"That's quite alright, Luke. Thank you," Layton smiled and nodded appreciatively at his apprentice before looking back to Zeke and Pandoria. "It would seem more important matters are in need of our attention. Why don't you and your lady join us for tea, Mister Zekenator?"

As Luke filled more teacups, Layton moved toward Byleth, a hand on his chin as he gazed thoughtfully upon the map the other professor had laid out on the table. Layton knew they were in some sort of wasteland. There were two places on the map that looked like deserts: one toward the west end of the map, bordered by a forest and a lake to the west and mountains to the north, and another in the eastern end of the map, adjacent to what appeared to be a massive volcano. As there seemed to be no signs of a volcano in the area, Layton felt it was safe to assume they were in the wasteland to the west of the realm they were now in. Layton could see that Byleth made the same assumption as to where their current location was on the map.

"Where there are large bodies of water, there is sure to be civilization," the archaeologist said, pointing to the lake on the map. He then straightened, looked around, and saw the stall where Byleth had found the map just a moment ago. Without a word, he went over to investigate it himself. Professor Layton gingerly dug through the various objects left behind in the stall until he found something of interest: a small rattling box. Layton smiled to himself and tapped on the box.

-Bling!-

A tiny gold object popped out of the little box and Layton snatched it from the air. Satisfied, he returned to Byleth. "I may have just the thing that will aid us in finding our way forward, professor." Layton opened his hand to reveal a gold coin. It was stamped with the image of a top hat, a curly capital L emblazoning the center. "Perhaps this hint coin will reveal a clue."

1686180925802.png

The hint coin in the Professor's hand vanished. Just as it did, images of the Super Smash Brothers logo appeared on Byleth's map. The logos were scattered on the map with some locations having more than one logo marking it. The spot Byleth and Layton assumed was their location had only one logo while there were five marking the lake. There were a few other locations that had the marks including, curiously, three that were clustered in the sea.

"Professor!" Luke shouted before glancing at Byleth and correcting himself, "Er, professors! It's the same seal as the one on the letter!"

"Yes," Layton agreed, his hand returning to his chin. "What do you make of this, Professor Byleth?"

Mythra didn't flinch as the hook was shoved into her face. Despite the fake sadness she was putting forth, she still had her own strong will kicking in the back. She was not afraid of this kremling. Nothing about him worried her- he simply had others at his disposal that she did have to be concerned about. People would not lose their lives because of HER actions. Not again.

"Hate to break it to ya, but the crystal was no coconut! It was a simple crystal and it was holding that ship hostage! We didn't try to shatter it, but by defeating what it spawned, it did just that!" A believable story if she did say so herself. Lying wasn't something Mythra was adept in, but she hardly felt bad doing so to a lowly being like this. It was clear as day that he gave no care of those around him and merely wanted some form of power- whatever it might be. It didn't matter what it was- she hated it nonetheless.

As the Kap'n began barking out orders to his crew, Mythra tensed up and prepared to summon her blade in order to defend herself from whatever was about to come, but much to her fortune- or maybe misfortune- it did not come. Instead, seemingly out of nowhere, Jigglypuff floated onto the ship without a care in the world. The balloon Pokemon was clearly in her own little world. She didn't even take notice of her or Pit as she began chirping out Pokemon noises that Mythra couldn't understand. Was she here to help them? Maybe, but then again what could she do to save them? The aegis had never thought of her having incredibly strong abilities like some of the other Pokemon.

However, before she could even dare think further on that topic, the puffball began to sing her melody. That's when it hit Mythra what was going on and despite scrambling to find away to block out Jigglypuff's sleep inducing melody, it was to no avail. No amount of plugging or covering her ears did any good. The soothing tones seeped into her very being. It was a slow process, given her usual resistance to such things, but it overcame her nonetheless. She wasn't immune after all.

Feeling her mind begin to go blank, the blonde grabbed her head as she stumbled around. It was only a few seconds before she lost her footing and dropped to her knees, all while her eyes began feeling heavy. "C-can't sleep n-now..." she uttered out. Those were the last words she would manage to speak before she slumped over into a somewhat peaceful rest.

mythragraffiti.png

As she began coming to, Mythra groggily lifted her head, ignoring the rain that tickled at her skin. She tried to move her body, she found herself completely restrained. That was enough to cause her to jolt awake. The aegis struggled against the ropes that bond her, but it was no use. The more she struggled, the more uncomfortable and tight the ropes felt around her. Growling lowly, her brown eyes lifted to land upon the kremling that stood before them. In an instant, she took notice of the odd markings scribbled upon his face, but they were the least of her worries.

When he spoke, her brows furrowed in frustration and her foul mood only grew. This was bad. Her whole plan had gone completely out the window thanks to the dreadful pink balloon. If she saw that Pokemon again, she'd be sure to give it a piece of her mind, but for now there was nothing she could do about it. She had to deal with the here and now.

Despite speaking up for her, Mythra scoffed in disgust. "I dare you to try!" she spat out. Even if she was in a horrible position, she had no plans of playing it nice. No, she wasn't going to give this low life any satisfaction at all. Enough was enough. She could easily declare she wanted to go with the marriage plan route here and now, but her ego wouldn't let her. She was doing this her way- whether that was the best option or not was something she didn't care about.

Is it time, Mythra...? Pyra's voice seemed to come from nowhere, but Mythra was more than used to it.

Yeah, I've had enough of this... I'm ready to show him exactly who he is messing with.

Silence overcame the two aegises, but Mythra's words had been enough to tell Pyra what she needed to do, and the blonde was more than willing to oblige. The aegis gave no warning as to what her plan might be and instead, in a flash of light, she allowed the transformation to take place. In an instant, Mythra vanished from sight and Pyra took her place. Her usual gentle features burned with an unusual anger. Her eyes glowed with a fiery passion that often seemed to be missing, even in the heat of battle. She was mad- really mad- and it showed.

"All you do is talk big... as if you're in control of the situation..." Pyra breathed out. Even her voice lacked it's kind tones. "Well, I'm about to show you how wrong you are..."

Despite the rain that poured down, Pyra's flames could not be quenched. Her fiery glow quickly took form near her hands and she flared it enough to reach the ropes that held her hostage. The embers ate away at the bindings until she was free, but she wasn't done yet. The fire blade showed confidence in her movements as she climbed to her feet- her eyes threatening anyone who dared to even think of approaching her and make sure they understood this was not their fight.

Moving a hand up to remove the pirate hat from her head, she allowed the crystal upon her head become visible. There was no disguise hiding her appearance- her whole self was revealed for who she was- she was Pyra, one of the Smash Brothers.

Taking another step forward, she tossed the hat to the ground and dropped down hand down to her side. "I think you should know who I am by now, but I'll say it just in case you're really that lizard brained," she said, her words coming off cold much like how Mythra usually spoke. "I am the Aegis known as Pyra. If that doesn't ring any bells still then let me declare this..."

She paused again, though this time it was to allow her flames to escape from her hand and form her sword in it. "I am one of the Smash Brothers! And I am done letting you run amuck!" The flames around her blade flared as her voice raised and she lifted it across her chest as she took yet another step forward. "Let's see which one of us ends up tied to the bowsprit when I'm through with you!"

With that declaration Pyra pushed herself forward at the kremling, sword blazing, and with full intention of locking him into a one-on-one battle.

Shez in... the Battlefield Fortress
ft. Byleth ( Ploegy Ploegy ), Professor Layton & Luke ( GrumpySwallow GrumpySwallow ) and Zeke & Pandoria ( Twice Knightly Twice Knightly )

The mere thought of a map fills Shez's heart with dread. And yet, she must persist. Her sense of direction, poor as it is, needs something to work off of at all.

Even if she has no idea how they're telling any location at all, she can puzzle some of it together. Arval might have been the brains of their operation, but... she'd like to believe some of their intellect rubbed off on her. Could just be wishful thinking, though...

"That symbol probably represents the amount of people there, right? People do usually gather by water. So, if that one symbol means all of us, then if there's a bunch by the lake... that means there's more people there, which fits the description. That... does make sense, right?"

There's a lot about all of this she doesn't really understand. How she's here, the extent of this place (or what this place is -- she's still not reading the map if she can help it), whatever it is going on with Byleth... but she's still a merc at the end of the day, and just standing around dumbfounded usually gets you stabbed in this line of work. Best she can do is put what she does have to use and hope for the best.

She really does wish Arval was around, though...

Byleth's head turned as Luke walked over with a cup of tea in hand. Traces of a faint smile crossed his lips, though it was hard a look of gratification. It was the best he could do given his own stunted form of expression. Perhaps he should work on it at some point, but now wasn't the time to think on it. Hearing the boy speak of only having sugar cubes, the professor gave a small bob of his head. "Only sugar is more than alright. I don't need my tea overly fancy."

He was used to all sorts of tea after all- the home brews the commonfolk, the royals fancy ones, even Rhea's own personal favorites. There wasn't much Byleth wasn't willing to try. Brushing the thought aside, the young professor quietly took a couple sugar cubes and dropped them into his own tea before speaking once more: "Thank you."

Again, it lacked ones usual tones of gratification much like how his own smile lacked. Anyone unfamiliar with the professor would have likely thought him to be rude of some sort, but really, he was doing his genuine best to express himself. Sadly, his attempts were rather lackluster, and quite monotonous when it came to his speech.

However, Byleth seemed to pay little mind to those things. As quickly as his focus had shifted to Luke, it moved back to the map he had laid out and he began to study it once more, though now with a cup of tea in hand.

A soft hum rumbled from his throat as he did his own observations, but as soon as Layton joined him, it stopped and he listened intently to what the older man was saying. It seemed the two of them had come to the same conclusion on their current location- that was a good start- but the other professor's next words did shift his own thought process. The idea of civilization had never truly crossed Byleth's mind. Yes, it made sense, yet it wasn't something his brain had immediately jumped to given this was the Smash Realm.

"That is true..." he agreed, though before he could finish speaking his thoughts he saw Layton take off towards the stall which he had found the map in. Tilting his head, Byleth was unsure what the other might be looking for, and as he returned with a simple coin in hand, that confusion only seemed to grow. However, he didn't immediately question it. Instead, he kept himself quiet as the professor went on.
"
"A hint coin...?" Byleth parroted, but as soon as it escaped his lips, the coin had already vanished into thin air. Much to his own surprise the map began to change and many of the Smash logos began popping up across it. What an odd phenomenon, yet how intriguing. Admittedly he had never seen such "magic" before, but he couldn't deny its usefulness.

Staring at the map, the gears of his own mind began turning even more so than before. Hearing Layton ask what he made of it, Byleth stayed silent, making no real indication if he did or didn't. He was lost in his own thoughts, trying to piece everything together. However, as Shez offered up her personal take on what she was seeing, the professor gave a small shake of his head in disagreement.

"I do agree the symbol likely is tied to people, but..." he began, moving his finger to the singular symbol in their location. "I think it's tied to specific individuals and this singular one supports that conclusion." Again Byleth paused. His eyes silently looked around the map as his finger absentmindedly tapped at the same spot. Despite already making a claim, he was trying to instantly debunk it, yet he could find nothing to do so. All he could do was continue on his thought. "These symbols are likely tied to the individuals who are known as Smash Bros- people who have been gathered here from outside worlds to participate in fighting tournaments, but also protect this world in its times of need."

Byleth's eyes lifted from the map and looked around at the others present, hoping they were following his explanation thus far. It was pretty straightforward from his point of view, but he didn't know how the others processed such information. Even so, he continued on.

"This lone one- it's likely me... But as for the others..." His voice trailed off as his eyes moved down to the map again and he studied the other locations- two near the Stadium, five near the lake, two moving in the sky, four in the swamp, three around the Military Base, and three in the middle of the ocean, with one leaving said area. It was a lot to take in, yet he couldn't pinpoint who any of the others might be. Still, it gave them an idea of how many other Smash Bros were currently present- twenty, not including himself. "I'm not sure who the other logos are representing, but I'm positive that they are all Smash Brothers as well... However, it is concerning how spread out we all are, and how few seem to be near the Stadium..."

As he stated that concern, the corners of his lips turned downward, forming a small frown upon them. Even his brows creased to show some minor signs of distress. "Usually, the Stadium is where we'd all meet, yet only two seem to be there... And from the letter you received, I suspect this friend of the sender likely expects all of us to go there, thus that pair is probably in a highly dangerous area... Whoever they may be, I do hope they can hold themselves out..."

His words left a somber feeling in the air among them. Even if Byleth hardly showed much emotion in both his expressions and speech, it was clear that he was concerned for the wellbeing of the other Smash Bros. While he hardly knew how they felt towards him, he still saw them as his comrades in arms- even some of the more villainous ones as well. However, he knew he couldn't let himself get caught up too much in such sentimental thoughts. He had his own decisions to worry about.

"I wish I could say which place would be best for us to go, but without knowing who is where, it is hard to say who might be best to approach. Logically, rendezvousing with those around the lake would be the best action to take, but I have a bad feeling of what might happen if too many of us start gathering together. We can't afford to have another situation like last time to arise."

An eerie feeling overcame the professor as he spoke those words. Even if Byleth had shown up late to it all, he had witnessed enough of it to understand what had taken place, and it wasn't a pleasant thought. The last thing they needed was another roster wiping event to occur. Would that happen if they gathered again? It wasn't something he could predict. If only a visionary like Shulk was present, then maybe they'd know the fate waiting for them.

"Now, I could be wrong, but I feel all this makes the most sense to me.. though I will say, if I am correct, then we are missing quite a few of the Smash Brothers." Lifting his head once more, Byleth's gaze landed upon the other professor. Perhaps it was time to pass the conversation on. He was admittedly tired of talking himself- especially given how he was never usually this talkative. "Do you make anything of this information, Professor?"

Lord Lunaris & Shiri
Where: Flying Citadel
With: Sora ( Ploegy Ploegy ), Pichu ( SheepKing SheepKing )
Interactions: Kameron Esters- Kameron Esters- , Kaiju Cat Kaiju Cat

"Hello? Hello? Hey!" a soft, high-pitched voice squeaked above Sora. A little pink ball of light with insect wings bobbed up and down anxiously as the teen began to come around. "Oh! Oh, you're okay! Thank goodness!"

The fairy flew in a circle before moving higher in to the sky and glancing around. Seeing that the coast was clear, and that Sora was very much alive, she flew right back into his face and began scolding him. "What did you think you were doing? You could've gotten yourself killed! Now everyone thinks we are under attack! Well, what do you have to say for yourself? Who ARE you?"

The fairy noticed the silver crown necklace Sora wore. "Are you... a prince? Are you here for an audience with my lord? You should know that we have a process for scheduling meetings!" She went silent as she listened to the hasty footsteps of Miis and Alloys running about in search of the threat that activated the golden satellites, and the panicked cries of nobles believing the end had come, then let out a tired sigh. "What a mess..."

Lunaris raised his head from his writing desk and slipped a hand under his mask to rub his face. Did he fall asleep? He must have. Ugh, he even drooled a bit, how undignified! The masked Hylian wiped his mouth and adjusted his mask back into its proper position. That coughing fit took more out of him than he thought. His eyes narrowed as he was reminded of the severity of his condition, his dark thoughts interrupted as he caught sight of the stars from his window.

Stars? How long had he been asleep?

The princesses!

Lunaris cursed and jumped to his feet. Right! He had ordered his troops to assemble in the courtyard. They were to be deployed to the Lake Shore and capture the princesses! That he fell asleep at a time like this is disgraceful! The sorcerer then recalled sending Shiri off to have his champion lead the mission in his stead and relaxed a bit. He knew he can depend on the fairy to get things done. He supposed all that can be done now is wait for the news that the princesses are under custody.

The sorcerer folded his arms on the window sill and gazed up at the twinkling stars. He had that dream again: he was soaring through the night sky, wild and free, healthy and powerful. With a wave of his talons he could manipulate the stars themselves, creating new constellations that awed the earthbound mortals, or shine a guiding light to aid lost travelers to safety. He banished the nightmares that tormented sleepers and brought forth peaceful dreams with just a flap of his wings. He painted the night sky in colors of royal blue and purples with golden stellar clouds providing the perfect amount of contrast that drew the eye skyward. He felt whole and happy as he carried out his noble purpose.

Lunaris found himself overcome with feelings of longing and loss that were soon twisted into bitterness and contempt. Noble purpose, hah! What noble purpose? He'd spit if he didn't consider such an action beneath him. He was merely a mortal man, a mortal man who fought for his life from the moment he was born! A mortal man who resorted to stealing the magic of demigods to keep his failing body going! Even then, it was hardly enough to keep the spectre of death away. He needed the Pillars!

"Goddesses, must I be plagued with foolish dreams of fairy tales as well? Isn't my suffering in the waking world enough for you?"

A movement in the sky pulled Lunaris from his thoughts. His eyes squinted behind the mask. A shooting star? No, wait...

Lunaris ascended a spiraling staircase to the top of the tower where he kept a telescope. The Hylian took one peek through the telescope and froze. A meteor was descending upon the land! A meteor with such size and power will devastate the Realm, and Lunaris had a feeling that even his limited control over the powers of Creation and Destruction will not be enough to restore it should it make landfall! The sorcerer clenched his fists, magical energies coursing through his body. No! No, he won't allow it! This is HIS realm!

The Master of Creation and Destruction descended the stairway and threw open the door leading out of his private quarters only to find a Mii dressed in the finery of a captain standing in the doorway, a fist raised as if to knock. Instead, the Mii threw a smart salute.

"My Lord! The golden eyes have detected an intruder--"

Lunaris shoved him aside and ran for the throne room. "Let the sentries take care of it, that's what they're for!"

Sitting upon his throne, Lunaris waved a hand and conjured the controls to the airship, immediately changing the airship's course to intercept the meteor. The flying citadel jerked at the sudden change in direction, the inhabitants crying out in shock and stumbling upon themselves. Lunaris paid it no attention to it. Time was of the essence!

Pikachu, Dark Pit, Samus
Where: Lake Shore
With: Princess Peach ( Minako Minako ), Princess Zelda ( SheepKing SheepKing ), Cream & Cheese ( SirPrompto15 SirPrompto15 )

Nurse Joy looked to the two princesses. "Please, with all due respect, my patient needs rest. He is in no condition to be doing anything right now." Dark Pit may have been a lot of trouble for the nurse, but he was still her patient, and Nurse Joy took the well-being of those under her care quite seriously even if they weren't Pokemon. She smiled reassuringly at the Super Smash Sisters. "You can try speaking to him tomorrow morning. I'm sure he'll be in a better mood then... I hope."

Pikachu looked up into the angel's face to see that Dark Pit had, indeed, drifted off to sleep, the chaos of the day finally taking its toll on him despite his best efforts to resist it. However, Dark Pit's slumber hardly looked peaceful: his eyes were squeezed shut, he was in a cold sweat, and he occasionally bared his teeth and growled. Pikachu frowned as she quickly concluded that the dark angel was having a nightmare. She wasn't aware of the Pits' connection to each other, and that the reflection was being indirectly affected by Pit's corruption under the Pillar of Fear. Pikachu curled up on the angel's lap. Maybe if she stayed with him the nightmares will eventually go away?

The good nurse gently stroked Pikachu's fur as she spoke to her. "I'll bring a blanket and pillow to make him more comfortable. That might take care of the nightmares."

Samus saw that Dark Pit wasn't going anywhere, for the moment, and that her presence wasn't needed. Silently, she stood up and moved toward the lake. She slowly made her way around it, her scanner activated as she searched for any clues as to what might have happened that brought harm to Rayquaza, or any hints as to the presence of a Pillar. As the Huntress reached the other side of the lake, she found a large, flat rock on the shore that jutted into the water. The rock was smooth, and a quick scan revealed that its smoothness was not only caused by weather and time, but also human presence. Samus's sharp eyes also caught the remnants of what might have been woven baskets and clay bowls; the stone must have been used as a place to give offerings, very likely to Rayquaza.

A detection from her scanner caused Samus to freeze only a second before she knelt down onto the stone. Besides the remains of offerings, there were tiny pieces of dark rock, of which Samus picked up a sample before standing. She carefully rotated the pebble in her fingers, her expression darkening as her scanner confirmed her worst suspicions: the congealed blood of Dharkon! Recalling the arrowhead she extracted from the corrupted Ursaring, Samus's steeled gaze turned to the water.

No good can come of this.

Back near the laboratory, the Lake Scientist looked to Cream. "'Bad?' Oh ho ho ho! Sweetheart, 'bad' is putting it mildly!" He returned his attention to the two princesses. "The scoundrel appeared one day in his flying castle and declared himself the new ruler of the Realm, and he made quick work of anyone who disagreed! I've yet to meet anyone who has ever seen the real man; he keeps himself cooped up in his castle. I've heard tell that those of the upper crust often visit the flying castle, likely to pay him tribute or voice their grievances. So long as tribute is paid and the laws aren't broken, the aristocrats are left alone for the most part." The Lake Scientist gave the two princesses a sly look. "Maybe, being nobles yourselves, you might be able to get into the castle as well... if you're bold enough to attempt it! I can't say I know how a meeting with Lunaris is arranged. Perhaps the city slickers at Console or Lumoise City will know." The old man then cackled, "Or you could simply beat the information out of one of his thugs! That'll teach 'em, eh? Even if you do not plan to pay the man a visit, it may be useful to know how to get up there without being blasted out of the sky!"

Cream and Cheese listened to the scientist as he described the villain. " Oh dear...he seem just as worse as Dr Eggman and other mean beings from the world I come from." she said. She turned to the princesses." Cheese and I could help. I know it is not the world I come from, but the other heroes need help." She said.

Toon Link & Pit
Where: The Kremling pirate ship, the Black Scourge, in the sea.
With: Pyra/Mythra ( Ploegy Ploegy )

Freed from his bonds thanks to Pyra, Pit jumped up. Despite the howling of the wind and the boom of thunder, the angel's voice rang loud and clear.

"Look upon me, Kremling scum, and don't you dare blink! I am Pit, servant of the Goddess of Light and one of the Super Smash Brothers! Look upon me and see your death! No more will the seas be darkened by your black sails!"

Pyra had already called dibs on Kap'n' Krook as she charged at the pirate. Willing the Upperdash Arm to appear, Pit charged at a nearby group of pirates, shouting at the red-headed Aegis as he did. "Give 'em hell, Pyra!"

Kremlings flew into the air like bowling pins as the Upperdash Arm made contact. Roars from behind Pit warned him of another oncoming group of enemies and he turned to face them. The angel began to squirm. That itch on his wing was driving him crazy! He grabbed at the shirt and jerkin that hid his wings and tried to tear them off, but those few seconds allowed the Kremlings to close the distance between them. The angel captain raised his head to see one pirate prepare their sword for a thrust and immediately ducked. The sword went down the neck of Pit's shirt and tore it from the back, releasing his wings.

"Thanks!" Pit expressed with genuine gladness before the cheerful smile became a fierce grimace. A swing from the Upperdash Arm knocked out what few rotten teeth the unfortunate Kremling still had in his mouth before he flew overboard.

"The Super Smash Brothers," Krook repeated, blood-red eyes widened. His surprise was very shortly lived as the wicked smirk returned to his fanged jaws. He licked his hook. "HA-HARR, I thought there was somethin' off about yer! The loot I'll get from yer heads will make a fine consolation prize for losin' the Crystal Coconut!"

As Pyra charged, Krook drew his own blade and ran to meet her, his blade soon clashing with hers. Krook was a skilled swordsman: his sword was an elegant blur as he slashed and thrusted, parried and deflected. As Krook kept Pyra busy with his sword, his abnormally long tail snuck toward the Aegis's left leg with full intent of wrapping around her ankle and tripping her. Krook didn't get as far as he did by fighting honorably!

Toon Link was slow to awaken. For those who knew the little Hylian that was not surprising, as Toon Link (and most Links for that matter) were known for being heavy sleepers. The boom of thunder and the violent rocking of the galleon alerted the Hero of Winds to the heavy storm they were trapped in. That was definitely a huge problem! Before he could act, the sounds of a hatch opening and the panicked stomping of footsteps on the stairs reached his pointed ears, and Toon Link immediately held his breath and remained behind the crates. Rather than snarling krocodilian pirates, however, it was the shanghaied islandfolk that had descended into the gun hold, seeking safety from the weather and the battle taking place above.

Toon Link remembered his mission: to get to the weapons cache and arm the islanders for mutiny! He left the crates and made for what he was certain to be the storage area for the ship's weaponry. A swing from his sword broke the lock holding the door shut and the door creaked open. Toon Link smiled as he looked upon the numerous swords, daggers, pistols, Kremling blunderbusses, and orange-grenade crates that filled the small armory. Palutena's Bow was even among the stored weaponry! Toon Link grabbed the sacred weapon; its owner will be needing it!

"'Hooooooy!" Toon Link called to the islanders, waving an arm at them. This was their chance! This was their chance to reclaim their freedom!

Toon Link's big hopeful smile faded as the islanders cowered on the gun deck. They weren't warriors, and the thought of fighting those bloodthirsty pirates while trapped in a gale terrified them. They remained shivering miserably on the wooden deck. Then, one stood up: the young Zora woman. Her expression was one of grim determination as she stepped forward and grabbed a cutlass from the cache.

"I'll fight alongside you, hero," she said. "Krook and his krew have taken my family! I'll make sure they never take anything from anyone again!"

Toon Link's own features became grim as he nodded. The two made their way up the stairs to the main deck.
