Fandom Super Smash Bros. (OOC)

Main
Here
So we can use Kirby as a bag of holding/Taurus

The Super Smash Bros. and Lunaris's forces are battling over a Pillar, and in the chaos the Pillar is knocked loose from its holding area and falls to the floor. Kirby, who has no idea what is going on and just happened to show up, finds the Pillar and eats it.

Everyone: *SCREAMING*

Kirby: ... Poyo?

Did you know the events of one Kirby game was caused by meta knight stealing Kirby’s cake ending with Kirby killing a god for said cheesecake

Nothing stands between Kirby and a tasty treat. A god? You’re screwed.

According to the lore Kirby is a reincarnation of an eldritch god of destruction. (My friend made me watch a three hour lore breakdown)
I'm surprised you didn't already know that. Kirby lore is kinda twisted under all that Fluff lol

I was once told that I'd be an excellent Kirby RPer based off my character preferences in past SSB RPs.

Me: But I've never played a Kirby game to completion. I don't think I'd be able to do him justice.

Friend, who is a huge Kirby nerd: Be cute, eat shit, say "poyo." Kirby.

Also Gooey is Zero 2 (Not the one you immediately think of)

Yea. Kirby and Gooey are Dark Matters/Zeros. However, the reason they don't look like Dark Matter or Zero is because of their environment. How they look and act all depends on how the type of environment and interactions they have. Since Kirby's had very positive influences in his life, that's why he is what he is today. Dark Matter and Zero are the opposite result, reason why they're alot more maleficent

The anime’s lore is that he is a prophesied hero awakened 200 years early resulting in a younger Kirby

Two separate continuities as the anime came out a year after Kirby64 and Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble. Tho that one is more digestible to a younger audience than how it is in the game

Imagine Nintendo games not have some twisted af lore even though they’re cute. Looking at you Kirby, Mother and Splatoon

Throw in mother 2
Was an inclusion of the entire series not just the first game Mother 3 cannot escape it either cuz hoo boy that shit is a lot to unpack lmao

But yea, Kirby is canonically, one of the strongest characters in Nintendo. Reason why he was the only one not turned into a spirit by Galeem unlike everyone else

I recall reading somewhere that Sakurai admits that there were plenty of characters in the roster who could've easily escaped Galeem, but didn't for plot purposes. But I can't recall where I found it, so take it with a grain of salt.

A lot of Nintendo games have some pretty dark and messed up stuff hidden behind all the cute characters and pretty colors!

Pit's backstory in KI NES is that he is a prisoner of war, and all his friends and soldiers are either dead or turned into statues. And he was a baby angel at the time! The Japanese version of KI: Uprising is pretty dark as well, but it's open about that. The first example that comes to mind is a brainwashed and crazy Palutena ordering Pit to kill himself.

Wind Waker's story is that everything you did in Ocarina of Time meant nothing, and everyone from that game is dead. WW Link is pretty much living in a post-apocalyptic world, and he and Tetra were pulled into the mess they were in because the King and Ganondorf cannot let go of the past.

In many of the other SSB RPs I've been in, the GMs felt the need to make the Smash Bros. feel as powerless as possible for the sake of plot. I wanted to do something different with this RP. The Super Smash Brothers are made up of the greatest warriors of various worlds, and I want them to be able to be powerful. I really liked the idea of the SSBs being regarded as legendary figures in the Smash Realm.

This also means I get to be creative with the obstacles the SSBs will have to face. A Ghost Ship ain't nothin' to most of the SSBs, but what if the Ghost Ship had the ability to manifest the deepest fears, doubts, and insecurities of those who enter it? Now suddenly it's a greater threat!

ahdjsofjsg If there’s one thing I love about splatoon, it’s the tonal dissonance of funky lil squid kids shooting goo at each other compared to the actual lore of the series 🦑

And in general I absolutely love how Nintendo is able to handle darker themes without it ever actually feeling too grim dark or overly edgy about it. Sure, you can have what amounts apocalyptic scenarios but a lot of their games never tend to avoid purely reveling in the misery of those kind of situations, instead taking one big look at them and going “Yeah [insert manmade horrors beyond human comprehension] might be kind of messed up but there’s so more to life than just it’s tragedies so we’re going to focus on all the joy and happiness that can also be found in the universe” It’s kinda heartwarming now that I think about it ❤️

This is pretty small, but I figure I’ll point it out so it’s not confusing if it comes up in my Joker post, SheepKing SheepKing my dumb self only just noticed the part in your post where you said Joker turned back to normal but he never did. Sorry if that was confusing and it’s really no biggie I should have pointed it out sooner but tbf I was a wreck yesterday and my brain was hardly functioning

I agree with this! Shit happens, but life goes on. There's always an optimistic, hopeful tone to Nintendo games that I appreciate.

It seems like a lot of media these days want to try and be the most emotional gut-punching thing ever, and while that's not a bad thing in itself, there comes a point where it feels manipulative to me and I start to hate it. There's something beautiful about seeing the sun shining through on a rainy day.

If Lunaris tried to conquer the Smash Realm while the Veteran Trio were still hanging around:
