It was summer once again. Normally most 16 year old boys would be happy. But I dreaded summer because of one reason.

Social butterfly, that stupid camp never didn't do anything for me but make my anxiety worse. See I'd rather just be inside online I thought that this summer I'd achieve that. But I was wrong when my mom came to my room and put a flyer of that camp on my bed. She had a smile on her face a bright one as she nodded at me then her mouth opening but I cut her off " mom don't make me do it I'll do anything" after twenty minutes of arguing he had already signed me up. So I started packing for my dreadful and shitty summer.

It was the next day the day me and my dad would sit in a car for three hours listening to bad music. I decided to bring my own music so I popped in my headphones cord and listened as a song by Rolling Stones played. I remained quiet and looked at the paper my mom filled out. I read over the rules not many I didn't need them all you did was be put in a cabin with boys and talk then mix with girls and talk. The only problem is you don't get your phone. That was what annoyed Xander the most. Another was that their was no dating, which was funny cause there were so many hook-ups and couples that start here.

Finally the three hours had been up as we pulled up to three large cabins with boys and girls around his age walked around quietly. I gave my dad a pleading look as he unlocked the door hoping he would understand. But he didn't so I was on my own. I stood and grabbed my bags putting my headphones away and waved to my dad as he drove off. I looked as people seemed to shy away,
I don't belong here I'm perfectly fine I-I can talk to people! He thought to himself as he awkwardly brushed past people until he came to the registration area. "Howdy! I'm Haley and I'll be held ya, you seem nice anyways I need your slip and your payment unless you paid online Then..." He stared at her awkwardly and got quiet as he set the money and paper down geez she's a talker I just wanted to know what room I need to go to...

A while later he was directed to cabin A3 he walked there quietly setting his things down on a bed in the corner by a window. It seemed nice. Maybe because he was the only one in the cabin at the time.

Jordan glared angrily at his mother and father from the back of the car. He already hated this summer camp. He knew it wasn't for his benefit, he knew his parents just wanted him out of sight for the summer. Before he knew it the car came to a stop. "Bye hunny, we'll see you soon" his mother shouted as he grabbed his bags and left the car. He sighed and looked around, he noticed a registration area and walked to it. After he got registered, he was directed to his cabin. He walked in and noticed a boy sitting on a bed near the window. He walked towards him and sat on the bed beside him. "Sup I'm Jordan" he held his hand out to shake.

Salem stared blankly out the window, watching as the scenery swept past. He never really understood why people actually liked going outside. The sun alone was enough of a deterent for him. He scowled as the camp came into view. His parents were convince that he 'needed help'. Like somehow this camp would make him want to be around people. He snorted at the thought. There was nothing about this camp that would help, he was sure of it.

When the car pulled up at the camp he got out wordlessly, dragging his bag behind him. Still saying nothing he slammed the car door and walked away, not bothering to say goodbye. He stalked over to registration and waited to hear his cabin number. After several minutes of listening to the lady jabber on, he finally found out his room, A3. He grabbed his bag once more and strode over to the cabin. When he walked in there were already two other guys in there. He gave a small wave and set his stuff down on one of the beds.

When he was seated for a minute or two he decided to unpack. He started pulling things out for his bed and his clothes into the small dresser placed next to his bed. In the middle of unpacking a boy came in. Why are you so casual?! Your at a camp for your issues and you say sup?! He nodded to the boy " Xander.." He shook his hand quickly as another male walked in as he almost cringed at the thought of being more social. He turned around staring at the male. Crap..crap he's good-looking he thought to himself as he started shying away smiling at him as he waved.

First day of camp and you already found interest in someone? I-I mean he looks straight..maybe he isn't I- why am I even thinking about this I have more pressing matters like making my bed and not looking dumbfounded. He did as he was told by himself and started making his bed. He moved onto his clothes once finished and was done a bit after and started becoming awkward again.

Salem barely acknowledged the other boys as he set about making his bed and putting his stuff up. Once he finished he took a seat on the bed and surveyed the room. So far there were only two others, thankfully. He hoped that there weren't going to be many more. Although with more people it would be easier to fade into the background... He sighed, once again cursing his parents for making him go to the stupid camp. Afterall, it was none of their business how social he was.

Salem stared at the one who'd spoken for a moment. "My parents want me to be more social." He leaned back against the wall, "Apparently they think this place will help." His gaze drifted away towards the other guy, the one who'd stared at him when he first got there.

He sat staring at them both hearing the question and the first one talk he spoke trying his hardest not to stutter " I have s-social anxiety...they want me to be more social to I guess..." He said quietly then looking down to his hands as he held them both tightly as he remained quiet

Salem sighed, feeling a little guiltly that the other one was so nervious. "What's your name?" He asked, hoping that the other boy would relax once he got to know them. It wouldn't do any good to spend all summer afraid to talk with the people in the cabin.

@Awkward Izzy

He looked up at him slightly red from embarassment " oh..uh Xander.." He nodded to himself as he spoke looking to the male as he shrugged " yours?" He asked a bit quieter this time as his ha do went to his bedspread smoothing the Fabric out as he looked at him waiting for an answer but he never did make total eye contact

Salem offered him a smile as well, "so why are you here?" He asked, although he figured it was around the same lines as everyone else in the stupid camp.

@JaCrispy

He looked over at the boy returning the smile. "I'm depressed and my parents want rid of me over the summer" he could feel tears start to brim his eyes but he blinked them away, he couldn't stop the sad thoughts that entered his mind. He blushed realising he nearly cried in front of two people he hardly knew.

@Love You to Death

Salem gave a small nod and closed his eyes. After several moments of silence he opened them again, "Do any of you know what else is happening today?" He asked, wondering if there was somewhere they were supposed to be.

" given I've been here the last three years...we just talk to people who are in our cabin then lunch comes and we talk and do therapy lessons....." He said awkwardly as he took his phone out. " we aren't allowed to have our phones so you'd better turn them off their really thorough.." He turned his off putting it on the desk
