When you select on something or the 'new' icon on a post it appears orange, and a few icons and words on the home.

@The Dark Wizard
Just curious- are wider screens still supposed to have something more compact, or did you have to get rid of it?

I just wanna make sure it's doing what it's supposed to on mine :P
Not sure what you mean if only because my brain hurts after powering through this to release it after 2.0 sorta made things worse.

I have a pair of really large monitors. I believe the style is set to stop at 1450px width.

Here is what it looks for me.

I preferred 2.0 better too. However, this is a roleplaying site, not a stylistics site, and at the end of the day the colour of the forums shouldn't really inhibit anybody's ability and enjoyment of writing. When it comes to matters such as these, functionality should always come before aesthetics, and the site's working ridiculously quickly for me on mobile now. It's so much easier to use (not to mention some signs and stuff are now ginger :D ), so thank you to DWiz and the team! Colour options will come, but for now I'll take a more reliable RPN any day.

I think my monitor is just under that- so I think everything's fine, then.

Do you have the hours to spend and the know how to make that possible?
I programmed some Java / Greenfoot games before so i'm not completely alien to coding.

I'm sure I'll get used to the style eventually...
Doesn't mean I'll like it, but hey.

I get why it was done, and it's great for people who were having issues.

I'll just have to cut back on my time spent on here so I don't get headaches. cx
All in the means to rp.

The issue with the ad styler lies in the code. It was unstable for a measurable amount of users, and required loading in a lot of extra commands. The code is the exact reason Wiz nixed it. Yes, it sucks we can't customize "our" RPN, but there are no more resources at the moment to address it.
That's understandable, so you can't run two styles at once because of the server?

Looks like that is working, although I can't verify that is 1450px across. Down the line @The Dark Wizard it would be wonderful if for desktop sites the header width/length could scale to a certain % of the screen rather than being fixed in place.
I think I could most certainly do that ;) .

Now, I can run millions of styles, if I wanted.

I just don't.

Theres still things to fix before something like colors is even back on the table.

The Ad Styler wasn't murdering the server, we have an extremely powerful dedicated machine that we personally built and colocate at a datacenter near where I live.

The Ad Styler was just poorly coded and adding more styles means that I have to manually add things to each one when ever something on the site is updated.

There are some ways to handle this, and they just aren't ready yet.

Alright thanks for the clarification then. Necessary evil as they say, well not evil :P

There's no point in arguing about the change or the colours, guys. .-.

Dwiz and those who helped have thought this through already and made their choice. They made the site better for most people, and there's no point in adding stress when they've already done this much. Give them a day to recuperate, hey? ^_^

Give Dwiz a break. He definitely deserves it. :wizardSilly:

Come back after a day or two of using the site. It's gonna help with fixing the real problems.

ITT: people don't understand how code works or how hard it is to do something nearly impossible for free with limited time. Despite the dedication that actually is poured into it.

Fun.

Personally, I've gotten used to the blue and love it. Though it would be nice if there was another color, maybe even black, just so it's not an overload of blue. I agree with Scarlett about the orange, it doesn't bother my eyes whatsoever.

I really like this style however I feel like it's a bit more crammed than being spacious.

However, it's really nice still!

As others have said, the blue is a bit.. much. I had mine set up to be a dark red, as staring at a bright blue makes my eyes sore over prolonged sessions. I'm sure you guys'll put in colour options in the future :D

+1 for the siggie, and the blue comment. Studies have said that excessive exposure to blue depresses a person! (> :D ) I'm sure they'll take our voices into consideration - after a deserved rest.

Yeah. It's also said that blue keeps you awake due to it resembling a clear sky, and it's hard-wired into our DNA that we must remain awake during the day.

Blue and green tend to be the most relaxing colors, though, and (overall and in general) easier on the eyes. Well, look at highlighter colors - blue is so much softer than yellow or orange. ;)

Instead of badgering the staff about the pretty colours we missed, I'd like to bring up another changed deet: default font. I love how my text is automatically in Book Antiqua right now. Oh, wait. No... I cross-examined and it's Georgia, but whatever. I love it. Now I don't have to go through the trouble of either changing fonts or dealing with seeing my inconsistently-fonted posts.

+1 for fancy!

I agree I would prefer the AD styler back. I would like a dark red (or , since this is me , a dark or sand green to go with the already light blue logo.). There is indeed too much blue and as others have said not everyone likes blue.

I just noticed SB chat colors are blue text and names. Blue names are fine but the blue text blends in with the seperation lines. There is too much of the same shade of blue , maybe change the shades of you wish to keep it easy on the eyes and relaxing. Say , all the reply/send/upload/et-all buttons are dark-medium , text is a dark green or a medium colored blue (though it would blend with names. Just black text perhaps) and logo stays.

Agreed with the above. Wait a while , maybe a week or more , and then change it. Maybe have a vote on what colors in a poll in a thread (with locked comments , so no one spams or uselessly comments)
