You know it. If it doesn't have a story, it's not keeping you long! Have a love-hate relationship with MMOs for that reason. There's one I fell in love with. If it weren't for the people on my buddy list though, I would have stopped very, very early in it. It didn't have much in term of story.

Knee Deep. A murder mystery. I would have to try that out. I love engaging stories, but I like action even more. Explosions, giant robots, planet-busting, reality-turning powers. Still, I'm certain I can learn a thing or two about depth from games like that.


The Void though, that looks sweet. I'd play it. I watched a trailer on it and it has a Fable-vibe (has to be one of my all-time favorite Story-oriented game, alongside KOTOR). I see it has that splash of horror you like so much as well. Thanks for the mention of that.

Mmm. RTS. Love that genre. C&C I've played a bit. The Rome series, Civilization. It's so stimulating to start from point zero and build a great nation. Taking the right routes and moving the right units at the right time! Thrilling! I enjoy RPG's but not a big fan on non-multiplayer games. It's scary playing an RPG alone =(.

MOBAs can be fun! Especially when you master a character and use that one to help out your team in excellent ways. I too have tried StarCraft but don't have much success in it.  I'm the type to have no military units and just upgrade everything to get the most out of resources. Not a good strategy if you don't have a partner to actually watch your back. =/. Not the military-building type.

@ApfelSeine I do need someone to play a Maine State Police Officer working jointly with FBI and a Sheriff's office to investigate a potential serial killer in a remote town.
 
I feel scared that something like ths Spanish inquisition will start and WM will start asking everyne questions via PM adn then 'Purge' them if it doesnt conform. lol

I can do that ^_^ I've just got to go learn about police officers in Maine. Investigating a potential serial killer sounds like fun.

I think it's mainly that WM wants to get rid of people who've lost interest in the group and ascertain who's still active.
 
Ack, sorry, no sooner had I posted that then someone who got invited days ago finally replied in the affirmative. I'll let you know if anyone drops out before we start, though, or if anything else opens up while you're still looking.

I have been lurking but havent participated as havent really seen anything that would really require such. On another note I have decided what rp idea i am going to go with here, (The ideas were listed in a topic in Discussions and advice, I wont go into details as i believe in the rules WM put for the group, promotion or whatnot of ones own rp is not allowed or is at least frowned upon.)

^_^  Haha, no I don't think this will be what you're expecting. I'm sure a lot of us here have certain tastes in RPs, so I don't think you'll be able to recruit all of us into 1 RP. You still have to convince us to join. Trust me, this group here won't be replacing the Interest Checks, lol. Please don't think that. You can try to get us, but it won't be easy. The main point of the group is to see what we can do for the site, but if you want to do something a little selfish, tell us. No harm in seeing who'd be interested.

Yes. Snagging players here is allowed. Having this group replace the site's Interest Check forum, is what isn't allowed. I want to be careful nothing here replaces what the site already does.

=). Mister Gideon, you are GOOD. That is exactly what I was going to do! The question was how you pronounced GIF. Everyone who answered JIF would have been part of the purging. No problem with participation. As long as you're alive and looking, that is fine. I just don't want any "dead" members adding to the votes needed. I wont frown to much if you promote your RP a bit. If you post a full interest check, that's when I'll report you to the police.

Hmmm, my standards are really inconsistent. I tend to join anything that sounds interesting to me, but the things which I enjoy are usually ones with detailed writing or which delve into philosophical concepts (or both, ideally). I end up joining a bunch of random stuff and sticking with most of them until other people lose interest, even if some of them don't end up being very interesting after all. So I'd say that my standards for what types of roleplays I'll join and actively participate in are low, but the standards I have for ones which I enjoy are high. And the ones which I enjoy are the ones I'm much more likely to try to engage with the group OoC and draw things for the roleplay (not that that's much of a bonus since I'm no professional artist XD). So there is a difference, but I admit that I often just join in with things to pass the time.

Really? Oh wow. You're the second RP drawer I've met now. I've never met anyone who admitted having low standards o.O. Are you like...seriously, seriously, seriously, looking for a role-play and would join anything? I'll tell you up front I'd invite you to one I'm doing but it's a fandom. We RP it with serious/mature tones, but still, it's an anime fandom. If you're really looking for something, I'll shrug and throw it out there.

Well in theory I could sign up for everything in the interest checks :P  But in practice, I only join whatever sounds interesting to me. I have a lot of free time on my hands until school starts up again in a couple weeks, but I think the discrepancy between my standards for what I join vs what I like to play will become smaller once I start being busy again.


That said, with fandom roleplays, I like to be in the fandom if I'm going to join in. If I'm not, I might still join a fandom roleplay if the source material is easy to catch up on or if I don't actually need to be familiar with the fandom outside of what is described in the overview.

Lol Apfel I'm so sorry! I come on strong, but I'm very courteous and respectful. I didn't want to push you into anything. It's a mainstream anime, Naruto. There are just things with the lore I don't glaze over, you know? In a few fandoms I've seen, people get to indulge and taste everything. (ie have all powers at once/ do things that wouldn't necessarily be logical). Not so here! The lore is followed to the best of our ability. If you're the type to like having EVERYTHING, then that might be  major turn-off for you. Other than that, it's pretty straightforward. We're just having fun, being creative, and out-drama-ing each other =P

Ohhh I see. I'm not entirely unfamiliar with Naruto, though I bailed on the show around episode 100ish, so there'd still be quite a bit to catch up on (and I doubt I'd end up doing that since I still need to finish RWBY and Prince of Tennis). I remember really enjoying Naruto for awhile back when I was new to anime, since it is a pretty creative setting, but my taste ended up shifting towards really obscure shows that were closer to the types of stories I like to read in books (and some of the shorter mainstream ones). I might be interested in the roleplay depending on how much lore I need to be familiar with to understand what is going on. I am familiar with the basics that are established in the beginning of the series, but anything established afterwards would be new to me (aside from a few things which I learned from my friend while he was on a ramble about his Naruto OC). So it'd be unlikely that I try to do anything that wasn't possible in the beginning of the show. Still, if it's the sort of thing I'd need to be a hardcore fan of the show to enjoy participating in, I probably won't be the best fit.
 
Oh wow, I've always meant to watch Prince of Tennis. Sports anime are soooo good. I've seen Ping Pong the Animation, and it was surprisingly very good! I get what you mean about the RP. It is your decision! There will be things from all over the series, as I like complete fandom lore, but it's all explained well. Its very hard to explain. Just have a look an dlet me know, haha. That'd be the easiest thing to do.

Alright ^_^ And you definitely should watch Prince of Tennis if you get the chance. It's long, but also full of the ridiculous, physics defying techniques which make sports anime so entertaining (among other things).
