Starbucks and Sarcasm

Dylan looked ta her for a moment, "I don't know. What do you do for fun?" he asked, bluntly. He didn't give it away, but he couldn't help but be interested in her answer. It was in the back of his mind, but he didn't understand it.

"Oh, uh, nothing that exciting. I like to go to the park, walk around and people watch. I used to draw and paint a lot...I read sometimes. Go see movies, concerts. Normal stuff I guess," she shrugged. "I like being outside. What about you?"

Dylan looked confused, "I read reference books. It's the only other thing I do." He said in a matter-of-fact way. He thought that would be obvious, after all, he had decided to meet her in the library the first time.

"Oh my god Dylan..." she shook her head and stood up, grabbing his wrist to try to pull him up after her. "Come on, we're going to go do something completely useless and impractical."

Dylan looked at her confused, "I don't see how that is going to be fun. What would be the point of that?"

"Fine, it'll be fun for me and a learning experience for you. Are you coming or not?" she asked, letting go of his arms and crossing her own as she stared at him.

Dylan sighed, "I guess, but what am I learning from a Impractical useless experience?" He said, confused. "Is there a point to it, or just to waste time?"

"Hey, you said we were going to hang out, so we're going to do it my way. Next time we can do it your way...if you want." She grabbed her keys and headed to the door. "Come on."

Dylan sighed, "I only asked a question." he said, as he started out the door. "Where are we going?" he stated, as he followed after her.

"Somewhere fun, you'll probably hate it," she teased. She wouldn't say anything else about their destination until they were off-campus, heading down the block towards the city.

Dylan sighed, "I already do." he admitted. Normally, this would be when he backed out. He would just turned around and walk away. But for some reason, because it was her, he just followed after her.

"Here we go, grumpy." She pointed to a door with a brightly colored decal on the glass. It read 'Yogurt Mountain'. "We're going to build our own frozen yogurt sundaes," she said.

Dylan raised an eyebrow, "I hate yogurt." he stated. In all honesty he didn't just hate it, the taste revolted him. Turning to Melanie, "You are going to eat it all, right? I can identify the correct designs of the candy and yogurt, if you tell me what it should look like, but I am not eating that."

"You can just get fruit or candy then...surely you like something?" she asked worriedly, biting her lip. She'd never met anyone who didn't like frozen yogurt. She pushed to door open and went inside.

Dylan followed after her, the building was bright to be general in the description. He sighed, as he followed her, "Is there really no point to this?" he asked, curious.

"The point is it tastes good, for most people, and it's relaxing." She began to fill up a small cup with chocolate yogurt.

Dylan watched her for a while. Watching as she designed her own snack, all he could think of was the imbalance of the design. For a moment, he wished his mind would look at things, like she did. But he just didn't have the understanding to do so, "So, do I just put the fruit into a cup?"

"Yep, whatever you want. It pay by weight," she said as she reached the counter and handed the girl her card to pay. "But get as much as you want, my treat this time, since I'm forcing you to do this," she smiled at Dylan.

Dylan smirked, "I'm fine with paying it myself." he stated examining the fruit selection. He was sure to get fruit that looked rip. He pushed through a few to get to some of the fruit he choose, before he was done. His cup was half full by the time he was satisfied with his selection. He stood beside Melanie, "I theorized 0.87 ounces, 1.05 at most." he stated handing the cup o the cashier.

"Oh, don't be stubborn. I offered, just let me," she elbowed him lightly as she teased him again.

Dylan sighed, "Okay. But only today." he said, as he looked at the cashier. With a surprising glance, the cashier confirmed Dylan's estimate and return the cup to him. Dylan looked around, "Are we eating here?"

"Nope," she said as she walked back out the door. "We're walking to the city park and enjoying this awesome afternoon."

Dylan raise an eyebrow, "There have been ten other afternoons like this, in the last month, did you seat outside for all of them?"

"Most, yes. I like the sunshine...it feels good on my skin," she smiled and turned her face up to the sky. "Don't you like it?"

Dylan shock his head, "I try not to be outside more then I have to. Too much sun can damage the skin, if not currently, in the future. But it is important for younger children to play outside a lot. So I did play outside as a child., but I'm not a child now."
