The War rages on across the galaxy. Despite repeated attack against Separatist defenses, their iron grip on many of the Galaxy's planets refuses to loosen. Wave after wave of Clone forces are mowed down with every push towards a bitter victory...

Location: Geonosis. Deep through enemy lines.

Squad: Banshee

Squad Leader: Sgt. Kit

Mission:

Infiltrate enemy airbase and cripple their air support.

Blueprints of the base were intercepted and detail a control room. We've managed to create a kill-code that should send the main power unit into overdrive. If we read the blueprints right, you'll have 10 minutes to get out of there before the base goes into meltdown. 15 minutes before it collapses.

Lt. Fregs

"Alright boys! This is as far as we can go. From here on out, you're on your own! Try and keep it quiet, wouldn't want to come back here just to pick up some bodies..." Fregs said as the drop ship touched down.

"Good luck out there, Banshee Squad." Fregs added, nodding at everyone, as if silently saluting the squad.

(Before we start, I'd like to wait for everyone to get a CS in. But! I'm a man who likes deadlines, so you all have until Friday before we go on without you.)

Kit looked at all his men, which was an assortment of some of the finest clones in the army. They all barely had time for introductions, but now wasn't that time.

"We all know the mission, so let's get moving..." Kit announced.

He looked around their surroundings to gain some bearings, trying to find the correct direction to go.

"Separatist airbase should be 3 klicks this way; on me." He added, swiftly moving towards the direction of the airbase.

(As we move, take some time to do some intros, now will be the last real chance. XP)

Pvt. Astro
Astro was following right behind Sergeant Kit after he gave the order to move out. Astro would remain with a tight grip on his DC-15A as he was on the move constantly looking left and right in a pattern. This is Astro's Third time in an active combat zone and feels a bit uneasy with his head up. The Geonosis sand would lay against Astro's Visor making it a bit difficult to see any droids.
He would raise his right hand to the side of his helmet to initiate his coms towards Sergeant Kit. "Sarg, How long do you think this one is going to last. I'm going to have to clean gear for weeks, and I don't think them Droids mind and... I bet they could hardly tell." Astro would lower his right hand and look up at the sky to finish his transmission.

Noir took extra good care of his equipment during this time. His job was important and fun. Mostly important. For he had to provide the firepower in case others decided to muck everything up, or if the enemies hide was just too tough. This was not just a mission, it was a game of sorts. Two teams battling it out to decide the fate of those involved, including the consequences of failure, and the fruits of success. This would be his first time out in the field for real. Still wet behind the ears, his armor pristine... ignoring the environmental debris. He'd yet to earn his scratches from the hard reality of battle.

Taking a look through his visor, the landscape was rather... bleak. The target was a big one. A separatist airbase. As far as he knew, none of the others were medics, this was likely a suicide run. As long as they succeeded and got everyone out though, it didn't matter if they took a few scraps and bruises. "Right behind you, Sir." Noir replied, following the commanding officer in charge towards their destination. With a bit of luck, and the stupidity of the droids you could always count on, lots of things were going to go boom. That was a fun thought.

Jaks located himself on the right side of the group. He held his side weapon ready for any surprises that might pop up, seeing as his main would be less useful in a close quarter firefight. Of course, he didn't believe that they would engage in combat until they reached the airbase, but he felt it was better to be a little overly cautious, just this once.Yet, he still had a little pep in his stride.

His eyes glanced over to his squad mates. If they weren't in the middle of an op he would have tried to guess what their specialty was. Of course, he made it easy for them to know what he was good at. Well, maybe not good, but good enough. But that would not matter to a droid of course. An enemy sniper could see his helmet and immediately go after him to get rid of, what he would believe to be, a rather annoying foe. Ah, the joys of an impulsive decision.

Hearing one of his men, being Astro if he remember correctly, Kit thought on the question for a moment, thinking up an answer.

"Hard to say... If we keep our course with little resistance, we should be out of here before tomorrow. Otherwise, this could take anywhere between a day or three days..." Kit answered.

They had begun moving through the narrow ravine, sending a large shadow over the squad as they moved through it.

"keep your eyes open men, this is a bad spot to be taken by surprise..." Kit announced as he scanned the ledges of the ravine.

Astro followed Sergeant Kit after his response. He took his mind off a bit from the idea of getting his armor dirty but more of the fact that it is very hot...
Astro didn't say anything because he didn't want to seem in front of his Squadmates as a whiner. Astro started placing one foot in front of another until he stopped and rapidly raised his right hand towards his helmet "Stop!". "Does anyone here that?" Astro finished his transmission so he would give a chance for the others to listen. In the distance, Astro would hear so creaks and what seem to be some footsteps. Astro would grip his DC-15A tightly as he fears his squad and himself might run into contact. The sounds Astro heard would come to him as if it were in a pattern, the constant creaks and footsteps... something very unusual. He waited for others to lay their opinion on it

Jaks looked at the ravine, a perfect place to set up an ambush. There would be no place to hide and no real way to defeat the enemies, lest they bury themselves under layers of rubble. Even then, they would probably only get a few of them. But at least it did provide them with some shade, which was nice.

When Astro relayed his information, Jaks took a minute to listen. Indeed there was a noise, a nice and steady rhythm. And from the sound of it, it was close, or getting closer. Were they spotted, or perhaps it was just something passing by. Either way they had to get out of there. He gripped his pistol tighter and at the ridges. "Don't worry, it's just the wind."

Kit listened carefully to the sounds, weighing their options.

"everyone, get against the wall, on me." Kit called out quietly.

Whether they were separatist forces or not, Kit didn't want to chance it. From the sound of it though, it may have just been a patrol. That was just a wild guess, but from the sound of it, they were beginning to move away. Hopefully no one was in sight...

Noir would trudge along behind his squad, roughly looking over his equipment and keeping an ear out for trouble. Hearing the sound of approaching steps, he ducked by the wall, as his squad leader called out. "Roger that", whispered Noir clutching his rifle closely, both to keep it out of sight and get it ready to fire if needed. While he didn't expect trouble this soon, it wouldn't be surprising.

"Roger, Roger," Jaks said, as he moved to the wall. His eyes continued to scan the ridge in case any of the droids decided to scooch any closer. If they did, they chance of being caught would be increased tremendously. He prepared himself for a preemptive strike, if needed. Luckily, it seemed as if they were continuing their march onward as the sound began to dull down.

The sound of the possible droid patrol was slowly drowned out by the sound of the desert winds. They had passed.

"Alright, let's keep moving men. We don't have a moment to lose." Kit announced as he continued to move, still keeping close to the wall of the ravine.

After nearly an hour of cautiously moving through the dark ravine, the Separatist base came into site. It was still over a mile away, but the trail in which they should take was obvious.

"Here's the plan boys..." Kit began, "We move in behind cover of those sand dunes," Kit said, pointing towards the towering mounds of sand. "That should get us close enough to get an accurate read on their defenses. From there, we find a way in without making too much of a ruckus, get to that control room, and activate the kill code." Kit finished, adding, "Lock and load boys, we're about to get our hands dirty..."

Kit gave the signal to move towards the sand dunes, awaiting his team to begin moving.

Private Lucky, squad medic, moved passed Kit first, beginning the lineup. The moment he looked over the open area, he didn't feel right.

"Something doesn't feel right Sergeant... Lucky said quietly, scanning the desert. He was sure he heard something, but not completely positive.

(Recon will hear faint noise resembling footsteps. Seasoned soldiers [At least a month] are more likely to identify the noise, but not as likely to notice it as Recon. Newbies will barely notice it)

Noir moved alongside the rest of the unit, not making any fusses or mistakes to possibly delay them or get left behind. He needed to be sharp, mindful, and aware. Yet as the time passed, feelings of not belonging began to seep into his mind. The rest had experienced battle in their own ways firsthand. He was but a cub among lions.

In the distance, he was making out slight noises, it wasn't in any particular rhythm, nor did it seem with any set purpose. As they neared the end of the dark abyss they were slowly walking towards, Kit had begun to talk about their course of action. They would take a stealthy approach. Blast it all. Noir was not good at stealth. In fact, it had been among his lowest of scores. Of course, no doubt he had improved since then, but it was still not at all perfect.

So many daring possibilities to hinder their plans. Which would these droids take? Bombs? Frontal Assault? Ambush? Pincer Attack? Many thoughts began filling his head as he heard the echoes of small faint noise, it was hard to pick up among the raging winds, in fact, had he been any deeper in thought about potential attacks, he might've missed it outright.

"Sarge what is our next course of action?", he asked knowing the true answer. They would go through with it anyway. Soldiers it was their duty and cause to fight. They were made for it.

Blast it all...
