And I'm down for that! Gives all the more reason to play the cool bits. Ha, I remember the guyiver movie. The was tripped.

So to that extent, what sorts of armor niches do you need filled? I saw mention of classes.

There are several classes available for play from the core book.

Dreadguard - the big guns of the Splicer world, operating under a code of honor that is somewhat paladin or Cyber Knight-esque. Psychie is running one of these
Outrider - operates a bio-mecha, basically playing two characters - one for your pilot and another is your bio mecha
Packmaster - controls a pack of 3-5 genetically engineered hounds that can shred machines with their teeth. Involves a lot of paperwork for each of your Hounds.
Roughneck - Lighter in weight and firepower than the Dreadguard, the Roughneck is a super-infantryman. Eonivar and one NPC is one of these.

Given your experience (even if it is a bit rusty), you could easily pull off an Outrider as your special niche, or even a Packmaster. If you want simpler, go for either the Roughneck or the Dreadguard.

Hold up. Bio-mecha you say? You may need to elaborate on that. So, my living armor is more like a living mech?

And packmaster also sounds cool... would it save on paperwork if all the hounds were the exact same?

I mean... you definitely knew the two that would catch my interest.

If I was a wise man, knowing my particular current shortcomings in the department of brainpower, I would pick simpler.

But I'm also a glutton for punishment. And I do very much like going big even when it costs me. So I'm leaning to the outrider or packmaster.

The Outrider has a suit of bio-armor that is unique to his or her own tastes. The bio-mecha, called a War Mount, is bigger, some large enough for multiple riders, and have their own level of animal intelligence that allows them to fight along-side their Outrider or under your direct control to be more effective.

This is one of the War Mounts, called a Grendel

D. Rex D. Rex Any chance to look at the Outrider and some of the War Mounts? There are several that are available in the I Am Legion book and in various issues of the Rifter that are not covered in the main book.

D. Rex?!?!? We've got a D. Rex D. Rex incoming? That's all you had to say! Heya, man! Long time, no see! 8D

D. Rex D. Rex Remember Rifts and Power Armor? Our Host Armors are basically highly-upgradable living Power Armor units.

Re: Outrider. The Bio-mecha are more like humungous organic mounts. They are sentient but at their maximum, I believe they are as intelligent as an average human if memory serves?. Some of the mounts can fly, some can race across the ground. They're all cool in one way or another. =)

It's a wonderful surprise to game with you again, man! =)

I think I will

Sherwood Sherwood remind me what using an action point does?
Of course. You roll a d6. On any d20 roll, you add the result of the action point to your base roll. On a d100 roll, you roll the d6 and for every pip on the die, you add 5% for a potential max of +30%

I've not yet! Ended up getting the flu at the last minute and haven't really been able to get my head into reading mode yet.

Hey! Its been way too long. I see you changed your name! Thank you for the warm welcome.

Lol and I remember power armor. It was one of the first things I thought too when Sherwood mentioned the sort of bioarmor thing. Like a living power armor.

But makes me all the more intrigued to read up the mounts. Like having my own buo-mutant dino-zord.

Ah yes. The scourge of the flu strikes. It is running through my home, too. Had to take my wife to the hospital with breathing trouble last night. She’s ok, but we are all feeling like crap right now.

As to the game, there are several cool War Mounts in the books, including a stealthy panther-like one that isn’t as powerful, but can slip past some machines without being attacked as it looks like a normal animal. Going the opposite direction, there is a couple in the other adventure book that I’m using, one based off a bear while the second is a huge gorilla thing. Both are pretty awesome. Finally, there are a couple of flying mounts if you want to go with that option, the Griffin and the Skull Cracker.

Another bump for celestialbody celestialbody are you still interested in joining us here? If you’ve changed your mind I don’t want to keep bothering you.

D. Rex D. Rex did you want to take a look at some of the other War Mounts? I can put them up in the Lore tab with the Griffin if you’d like.

Oh dear. Well so long as everything is well now. I hope you don't end up getting it too. Thankfully it wasn't hospital worthy for me. I was just knocked flat and had severe chills and fever dreams that made me dream that somehow having a fever made me all powerful. So basically just slept for like 12 hours.

Oh heck those are some pretty cool options. Panthers are cool, and bears are always cool. But then again flying on a Griffin sounds really cool. But whats a skull cracker?

The Skull Cracker is a flying Mount that likes to use its speed and armored head to ram into targets.

Lol I should have surmised as much from its name. Hot dang I hope it has seat belts.

But the Griffin looks crazy. Plasma breath. Exploding tentacles?

And there is some giant kraken as a war mount? How would that even be played? Not to mention a kamikaze cruise missile.

The Kraken is a ocean-going War Mount with a crew of 400 troops and requires four Outriders to be permanently bonded to it to operate. Not something you can opt for.

The Kamikaze Worm is a one shot bio-weapon that can be launched at machine targets. Can do 1d4x1000 MDC damage

The next four War Mounts are now posted:
Skull Cracker
Silverback
Goliath
Stalker

Those three ground War Mounts are pretty cool. I don't know which one I like the most: The razor-belly of the Goliath, the power punches of the Silverback, or the sneaky powers of the Stalker. Nice.
