And here I was thinking that Toni was a badass fighter! Wow.
Toni is a bad ass, don't be too impressed I haven't even made a sheet.
Now... Pretty Bird is big enough to carry three of us, I take it. But pets? Would you have to change Warmounts if I went Bombardier with the Mantis Cannon(s) (so far, the #2 on my list of "most likely to play")?

Pretty bird would prefer (Other) people take horses, but I'm sure we can find a way to move pets when it comes up.

Bird isn't that big but it is incredibly strong so weight is less of a concern.

Height: 8-9 feet (2.4 to 2.7 m) at the shoulder.
Width: 5-6 feet (1.5 to 1.8 m) with a wingspan of 25 feet (7.6 m).
Length: 11-12 feet (3.3 to 3.6 m) with an 8 foot (2.4 m) long tail.
Weight: 1 to 1.5 tons.Cargo: Can carry 800 lbs (360 kg) on its back or 1200 lbs. (540kg) within its talons.
Additional weight decreases the Griffin’sspeed. An extra 500 lbs (225 kg) decreases speed by 25 percent,an extra 1000 lbs (450 kg) decreases speed by half, and any additional amount greater than 1,500 pounds (675 kg) total makes flight impossible.

Hmm. So we have a badass guy on a badass Pretty Tank Bird and a "samurai/Cyberknight" with an Omega Cannon.

Man! What am I gonna play to support this?! Ha ha!

I know she's tough, and there are things that I'll be able to do with my host armor that can't be matched by Pretty Bird. I can still be in awe of it.

Ah! That answers that! Thank you!

Okies. Just thinking out loud some more.

What can I create to support a team like this? Maybe I should be thinking about role. Each of us seems to have a role . (Psychie: Definitely Ranged DPS with that Omega Cannon. Mirgris: Tank/Melee). Here's a start:

If it's a Deliveryman, well, I really like the amount of education they've got. They can't get Host Armor Combat (which I'm guessing is like Mecha Elite Combat Training in Robotech). Their Stealth seems like it's hard to beat (and their Counter-tracking means he/she might cover the party's tracks in a way that aids everyone regularly). I'm not really into the Second Skin thing (and I see how Sherwood didn't have O.C.C.s like Skin Jobs in the game).

The Black Talon birb (birb!) is... something I haven't had before as a Player Character! And the birb can have a Stealth Field too? And it's smart? I could learn things in Real Life by RPing someone with a birb like this.

This also seems like the most "MACV-SOG" of the bunch. No code but their own. Highly resourceful. Highly self-sufficient. Daring and gutsy beyond all reason. And very military!

Hmm.

That sounds pretty good to me.
Yeah! I think I ought to sleep on it. I'm hoping either a character I haven't played in some time hops up in my head shouting, "Pick me!" Or a concept forms that I think I can happily play for years on end. =)

Hmm. Just had a thought. I might have to swap out a skill to be able to ride a horse. Might come in handy.

Ah! It might! 8D

Ok. I'll swap out something for it. Just need to decide what to drop.
Sherwood Sherwood Will we be having many underwater adventures? If they're rare, Psychie, perhaps drop Underwater demolitions?

* * *

Sherwood, when you have dice in front of you hours from now, may I have, please, the following rolls? I would like to see what a Deliveryman looks like:
3d6x10 for starting Bio-E
O.C.C. Bonuses. 1D4 (I.Q.)
1D6 (M.E.)
1D4 (P.S.)
1D6 (P.E.)
1D6 (Spd)

May I arrange as desired (d4s with d4s, d6s with d6s)?

Not many, but it is possible. Perhaps it will come in handy at a later level?

Yes, you can arrange the rolls where you like. I'll have them up for you once I get home tonight.

Holy crow! The Deliveryman comes with NO hand to hand Skills? NO Physical Skills whatsoever? NO Weapon Proficiencies?! I get their background, I understand their purpose. But nothing?

Yeah. It's time I sleep on this. See you all tomorrow (or when Real Life allows)!

That IS nuts! No physical skills at all? In this setting? No way!

Possibly. I'll look at the class tonight and think on it.

Skill categories are bold, and blue skills are physical.

-----------------
Survivalist (+25%)
Wilderness Survival and four Wilderness skills of choice.

Undercover (+15%)
Disguise, Imitate Voices & Sounds, Imperson-ation, Prowl, Seduction or Surveillance.

Reconnaissance/Scout (+20%)
Reconnaissance/Scout: Detect Ambush, Detect Conceal-ment, Intelligence, Land Navigation and Prowl

Outdoorsman(+25%)
Climbing, Identify Plants & Fruits, Outdoorsmanship, Swimming, Wilderness Survival, and Land Navigation or Spelunking.

Hunter/Trapper (+20%)
Hunting, Prowl, Skin & Prepare Animal Hides, Track & Trap Animals and Zoology.

Four Electives from the following list at first level
(Physical: Any, except Acrobatics and Gymnastics)

Secondary Skills: The character gets to select four Secondary Skills at level one
(Physical: Any, except Acrobatics, Gymnastics, Boxing, Kick Boxing, Wrestling and any Hand to Hand combat skill.)

---------

With eight skills you can certainly pick up a good few physical ones (and do start with 3), though I think the real limit is any type of hand to hand.

Given your valuable enough to be in host armor, I'd ask sherwood to consider bumping you up to h2h Expert for free. Because it feels very out of setting to put someone in host armor with *No* martial training. (On second thought I think the basic military skill group is a better "Fix")

After that you have 4 skills that can be used to increase it, and get a physical skill or 2 and another 4 secondary for any physical skills.

It's also worth noting that host armor negates most of the value of physical skills.

SPD: Nope Host armor speed
PE: Nope, host armor MDC
SDC: See above
PS: Nope Host armor enhanced strength
Special Attacks: Host armor probably has better (Including just super strength punches and kicks)

PP Is still nice, but it's hard to raise it much with physical skills

All in all I don't think it's as bad as it seems at a glance.

EDIT: If I was going to make any other change it would be to say anyone in host armor gets the basic military skill set.
Basic Military: Climbing, Hand to Hand: Basic, Military Etiquette, Running, W.P. Sword and W.P. Knife.

Feels fair in the setting and gives kind of everything the deliveryman is missing, in 2 physical skills, and 2 WP and a h2h Upgrade.

Just a couple ideas and observations.

Fun note:

On the same note, it is also possible that, from time to time, an Engineer may grant a Dreadguard (or other O.C.C.) additional Bio-E (lD4xlO Bio-E at a time) as a reward for some special service or truly impressive heroic act performed by the character. This should be done very sparingly, however, and is only made possible by the Game Master. Librarians can offer a similar reward as well, though very rare, by maximizing the Host Armor's design, but this is limited to just 10 Bio-E points

That's from the book and is even included in the example armor red rush.

There is another note, that I am trying to find, that said the engineer thing should not happen more than once every 3 levels, but that note does imply it's fairly normal for "PCs" which should be "Heroic" anyway.

I might be open to the idea of giving everyone the Basic Military package for free, and if your class gets it already, allowing you to pick another skill package.
