Any recommendations on the archaic W.P.s? I'd like to cover W.P. Paired Swords and... Archery?

Shoot. That's three weapons (and I'm a little "brain-burned" from posting as O Mighty Fat Cat just now). Yeah. Any recommendations, please?
If you go with Archery, you can have a bagful of Chigs to attach to your arrows to make them MDC explosive.

The Paired Weapons could be a set of acid edged or high frequency blades.

If you have a 'modern' WP, you can pick a weapon from the main book as one of those.

Sherwood Sherwood I appreciate the recommendations! How many is a "bagful" please?

What kind of bow or crossbow is he provided?

The High Frequency Blades appear to only apply to arrows, spears, lances or pikes (no swords are mentioned). So it's Acid Edged Blades I go! =)

As for the modern W.P. (he's got W.P. Heavy Bio-weapons), I'll go with the Burner.

The Chigs are baseball sized, so you can get 15.

That's a bagful all right! =)

Is there a bio-bow or bio-crossbow in the game? I don't recall seeing one.
The only reference I've found to bows is here in the Chig description:

Maximum Effective Range: Thrown as a grenade: 1 00 feet (30.5
m), twice that for Splicers. If attached to an arrow or spear the
range is that of the projectile reduced by 3 0% due to the extra
weight and imbalance of the Chig(s) on the tip.

Find a good bow from the Rifts book and drop the range by the 30% to come up with its effective range.

I'm not seeing any bow of any kind in the Rifts Ultimate Edition. I guess it's to the Game Master Guide I go?

If you are looking for a simple bow, wouldn't there be one in the Fantasy game book? The kind of bow that Oreleth has.

Well, a longbow in the FRPG has a range of 700 feet, minus the 30% for having the Chig on it.

Oh. You mean a regular non-bio-weapon S.D.C. bow? If a bad guy targets and hits such a bow even once, it's useless.

Um, could I change to spear, please? There are at least two M.D. spears in the Splicer books. I'll take the lesser of the two over an S.D.C. bow and 15 Chigs.

You can also get two Chigs on a spear instead of just one on the bow. More kaboom for the buck.

Up to you. I'm flexible.

Do you have a preference for a spear type? There's the "Dancing Blades" spear (Legion 121) or the High Frequency 2D6 spear (Main 131).

EDIT: Oh wait. I just said I'd take the lower of the two. High Frequency it is.

Lets go with the regular 2d6 spear if you are going to attach the Chigs to it.

Sherwood Sherwood I think I've finalized my characters' build (all Resistances, no Force-fields, ranged bio-weapons). When his hand-held gear is included, I think the build will function pretty well (though in the future, I want to get my hands on those Thud guns! Man, those look neat!). Take a look at the "Host Armor" tab and "Weapons & Gear" tab when you find the time?

Could I get a 1d6 roll for the number of Slap Patches he's carrying?

Could someone please point out where to find Chigs in the books? I've leafed through them several times and I keep missing them. =)

And on a somber note, I read that the Deliveryman comes with a War Mount too which comes with its own free Stealth Field. A real pity I can't use it though. The Deliveryman Corps only allows for 3 ground-bound mounts, none of which has a prayer of keeping up with Toni or Mirgris's Griffin.

I keep reading about how the Machine owns the skies. How the Splicers stay underground (or in our case, underwater). I like the Organic Thrusters mostly because of their "Boba Fett-like" ability to move. I imagine my character would use them not for overland travel, but for exploration, general scaling of terrain, and quick getaways. Plus, why spend 35 Bio-E in Enhanced Leaping when instead you can fly? Unless you're trying to be stealthy, but with a Griffin in the party and two of us using built in jet-packs, I don't imagine staying hidden lasts for long. I don't know how loud or soft those Organic Thrusters are.

Mirgris Mirgris Psychie Psychie So, I take it we fly low and hidden most of the time lest we attract attention?

Plus, are we new to each other or an established group? In either case, what do we know about one another? My character, for one, isn't big on grouping with non-Deliverymen and you may be his first.

What shall we create together, friends? =)

Finally figured out the mounted combat rules, they are in "Horsemanship"!

Which helps a lot it makes charging lance attacks no longer bad (They were 4d6 now they are 6d6 still not great, but triple damage on a crit, and my MA crits from behind) So 18d6 is pretty damn good even if situational.

Mirgris Mirgris I like his name!

I was about to ask you if his griffin was going to named after Lancelot's horse, but the internet seems to think that horse did not have a proper name. Unlike Sir Gawain's who was named Gringolet (French). According to this site, Lancelot's sword was named Arondight. Then again, for all I know you might not want to name his griffin at all. Just tossing ideas about! =)

"I know only that his last name is Altamont, Because he is my brother."

Purr Purr the Chigs are in the main book in the equipment section, under the heading of bio explosives. The Migs and the Squib are also listed there.

4 Slap Patches

I will have you guys get stuck together for your assignment; you may know one another prior to that if you'd like.

Does motion detection not work if the user is moving at high speeds?

It says high speed winds, but I wanted to clarify before buying it.
Note: High winds (30 mph/48 km plus) will negate the character's sensing abilities; no bonuses from Motion Detection enhancement.

Because 30 MPH is actually pretty slow in host armor I can run like 26 out of host armor.

I get the feeling it doesn't work during flight of anything remotely called "fast" nor in altitude when there are moving clouds. So, gliding around? Sure! Moving, dodging, and engaging during melee combat? Highly doubtful! =)

It will only work if you are going pretty slow or if you are stationary.

I just found 15 bio points then. Because my griffon can do 450 MPH
My book says my boy (boy? girl?) griffin can clock faster than that for short bursts - up to 600 MPH! Zzzoooom!

This is the whole reason I will miss having my own War Mount. It's ground-bound and thus, down. Stealth Field or no.

I don't get what our role for House Artemis is. We can't be an "air wing." We're just too small. If the Machine controls the air, then us flying around at any altitude is a death sentence, right? This is probably one small reason why none of us took the very cool Archangel O.C.C.? So now what?

EDIT: Maybe we're a hit-and-run style team? Get in, do whatever, and get out fast and low altitude?
