Fantasy Soul Secrets

Lex grunted and pulled the blanket over to cover Val. She didnt even open her eyes but she reached for Val's hand squeezed it slightly.

[and now I guess we wait for morning! Or for something that interrupts our poor girls]

Chantal sighed to herself as she heard her soul partner walk away. All she wanted was a bit of comfort – reassuring words, a consoling hug – but she realized that she wasn't going to get that here. She was alone, even if she had the others, and Cameron, with her.

As she continued to look out the window, a shadowy figure was seen moving from one building to the next across the street. She gasped as she saw another figure closer than the other and it looked like... “Dad?” she whispered to herself. It was hard to see in the dark, but with the sliver of light the moon provided, the figure closely resembled her own father, moving to another building.

Perhaps she was delusional and was in ill need of someone who she knew, even if that person was she hateful father, to give her comfort but she had to check it out for herself. Chantal hopped down from the sill and opened the window with some struggle to jump out, not telling anyone and safely landed on the concrete, running in the same direction as her 'father' did.

Julie didn't think he had to tell Cameron about the runaway girl he was seeing. Did she seriously just try to jump out of the window next to him? Julie grabbed her leg before she could run, which caused her to trip on her face,"What are you doing again?" he asked her still sitting. It was dangerous at night, he wasn't going to let her run off by herself again. Not when last time she returned unconscious and almost killed.

Cameron shook his head, a smile growing with his proud visage. "We're not just kids. You saw what we can do to protect ourselves, our teamwork has been going unmatched. We can do anything we set our minds to, we just have to reach for what we want." Cameron hadn't been looking at Julie, either. Rather, he looked up into space. "With the strengthening of our resolve, our movement will grow. We can be heard, but no one wants to act. I can't do it alone." His hands balled back into fists. In some areas, the streaks of blood from the previous encounter of his fingernails and palm was dried. After a couple of moments in that position, he would turn to the side and walk a good ten feet from Julie. That's when he went through his ritual, once more.

Break it down, roll it up, light it up, take a hit. The rhythmatic, routine behavior that came with it wasn't sickening to him, but from the outside looking in, it probably was. Exhaling a vast amount of smoke, Cameron kneeled onto the grass. While his eyes remained stuck on the patch, he saw a ladybug walking up one single blade. It kept crawling, almost making it to the top, and falling. It repeated this motion over and over. Cameron's features dulled back to a more neutral look. "We could do anything we set our minds to, don't sell us short."And that was when he heard that creaky, old window open. Chantal. Julie, luckily enough, had stopped her from running. Cameron bent over, wrapping his arms around her midriff and throwing her over his shoulder.

"I don't care HOW you feel about me, about this situation, or ANYTHING right now." He growled, almost, as he stood there. He wasn't about to put her down. "I'm not going to let you run off and die. Sorry. I like you too much for that." Looking over to Julie, and also speaking to Chantal, he continued. "You might not know me very well, but I keep my word. We will be fine, we'll prevail and get through this. The souls will live normal lives again, even if I have to give up my own."

He let the blunt drop from his mouth, and put it out with his foot. Practically all of it was left, but it was a good enough time as ever to quit.

"I trust you'll make the right decision Cameron." Julie told him as he let go on Chantal's leg,"Don't worry about dying though. I wouldn't let that happen." His voice was brimming full of hope and confidence, how could he be so sure? Nonetheless you couldn't help but believe him. Julie watched the streets again as Cameron took the squirming girl back in. He wondered if they made a ruckus as he watched some lights turn on and others of.

(sorry i'm on tapatalk right now)

Chantal was ready to run off to see if that was really her dad or not, but was caught in place as she felt someone grab her leg, causing her to trip. She looked back and glared at Julie, opening her mouth to yell at the boy but was cut off by Cameron pulling her up through the window. She glaced toward the direction she thought her dad went one last time before she ended back up in the apartment.

Chantal squirmed around in the male's arms as he made his speech and comments. When he stated that he liked her too much, she stopped moving for a second as a blushed tinted her cheeks but she disregarded it.

"Put me down!" she hissed and soon sighed. "Put me down and stop playing hero..." she whispered.

"I'm not playing hero." Cameron responded, stopping inside the building and putting his free hand up to his forehead. Rubbing it momentarily, he continued upon putting it down. "Look, I don't know what you're looking for, but can you please stop? It's not safe. I let you go once all ready, and I paid for it." He let out a small sigh, his eyes traveling to the ground beside him. He was embarrassed, he hoped no one was listening.

"I'm just trying to keep everyone alive, but you're not only a part of that group. You mean more to me. You're the first person i've ever truely connected with, the first person who ever attempted to understand me. I'm not a stupendous person, I have my problems. I'm not the most empathetic at times, and I my actions could sometimes be questionable. All I could do is say that I need you and try to better myself in the process."

So, Cameron set the girl down.
"If you run, i'm going to follow you. There's no way i'm letting you go again, not alone. Not without me. There's no reason to leave. If you're looking for something, i'll help you find it when I know we'll be safe." He looked down at his palms. Some of the wounds from way earlier in the day, reopened from a couple of minutes earlier. He definitely got some of his blood on her clothing. They all needed to get clean and get new clothes. It was something that he was going to bring up right after he made his attempt to convince Chantal to stay.

Chantal stopped twisting aggressively as Cameron spoke, listening to him wholeheartedly. She felt herself becoming warm as the male spoke – telling her how much she meant to him, that they connected, they he needed her. She was being irrational about this whole situation, she knew that from the start, but hearing the words flow from the other's mouth made her truly realize it. And now, she felt like an utter fool for everything she had done.

As she was settled down on the floor, Chantal kept her eyes down as the male continued to speak. When he was done, she looked up at him, her eyes wide but tearful again. She saw him look at his palms, covered in blood from reopened wounds and took the opportunity to gently grasp them within her own, eyes never leaving his face. She rubbed his palms lightly with her thumbs, careful to not touch anything that would make them sore and sighed, closing her eyes as she brought his hands to her lips and kissed the back of his right hand tenderly.

Chantal, then, took a step forward. Resting his hand on her chest, noting the heavy beating of her heart, she moved in close enough to place a kiss on his cheek – a bold move on her part. Her lips lingered on his skin more than they should have, tears flowing down her own cheeks and took a step back after a long while. She released his hands and wiped away the tears. “I'm sorry,” the girl merely whispered, looking down at her slightly bloodied tank top. “I-I won't run away anymore. Not unless you're with me.”

Julie yawned, the air was cold and lonely, making it harder to take it all in. His eyes locked on a shadowy figure, maybe what Chantal saw wasn't a vision? It didn't seem to come any closer, provoking it would be the dumbest thing to do right now. Julie kept watch, he really wanted to wash his clothes and take a shower though, but everyone needed their rest. He sighed, such a cold and lonely night.

Another smile grew wide as a result of Chantal's actions. He wanted to hold her hand, but his was dirty. So, instead, he just moved to her side and turned around to look at the others. "I have a place that we can all go to downtown, near the beach. It's in the name of a regular human - my father's ex-girlfriend. All we would need to do is clean it up." Remember, a couple of posts back, to the first five pages? Before page 86 of Soul Secrets? Well, Cameron had on him everything he needed. Wallet, phone, everything from the get go.

Pulling out his phone, he unlocked it with a slide of his finger. The battery was at twelve percent. Knowing his phone, it would die at four, so he had a small window of time to operate. He opened up his bank's application, put in his information and opened up his checking out. There was plenty of cash in there, worth about five thousand in total. Placing his phone back into his pocket after locking it, he took his wallet out of one of those back pockets of his. Sifting through one of the pockets, he found the apartment key. Another had his bank card. he looked up and the group and placed it back into his pants.

"I'll personally go out and get us the proper stuff to clean ourselves up. Then, we'll go get some new clothes for ourselves. Don't worry about the price, i'll handle everything. All we have to do is move south... And we should go now. Any extra second here, is more time we're not safe."

Chantal was glad that Cameron brought up the option of relocating to his father's ex-girlfriend's place, but when he mentioned going out to get cleaning supplies by himself, she turned to him and placed a hand on his shoulder.

“You shouldn't go out there alone,” she said to him. “I definitely saw something, or someone, out there. It'll be better if we all go together or at least one other person to go with you.” she said, turning her attention to Julie whom was keeping watch. This place gave off an eerie feeling and she was becoming uncomfortable just breathing the air around here.

Valentina tossed and turn in the under the blankest before getting up. "It's hot," she whined sleepy. She stretched and walked out side, laid down and went right back to sleep.

Julie looked down at Valentina a little warily,"Right..." This was just awkward, and kind of unsanitary. Julie wondered if he should bug her back inside, but decided against it. It's not like any harm is going to be done. He shift his attention back to the streets, not really knowing what to do with this. Actually this is really unsanitary,"Can you not sleep on the floor, I think a bug crawled in your mouth." he shook her awake.

As she hears his words she scream and spits. "Julie! Why would you say that." Her speak is slurred and sleepy. "It's too hot in there, since there's not AC and I just want to sleep better." She groans and falls down not paying attaiton to the stairs. "Ow! What happened?"

"I'll get you a pillow then...or well sofa cushion." Julie said after helping her back up. She had a bump on her head but that would be fine in morning. Julie went back inside and grabbed a cushion, dusting it off pretty well before walking back out and handing it to her."I'll make sure no bugs crawl in your mouth I guess." he yawned.

No immediate response. Cameron wasn't going to take a nap. He was too restless. Bending over to Chantal slightly, he brushed his lips against her cheek and spoke softly. "I'm going to go out front, keep watch too. Someone's gotta have Julie's back." Before that, he had to make sure that Chantal was situated. She had been knocked out, but she was probably tired also. The task at hand was something to rest her head on, which wasn't too hard to find; but it certainly wasn't in the nicest condition. They needed to get south before that happened.

Returning it to the girl, he handed it to her and shook his head.
"Sorry. I couldn't find anything better. Try and get some rest, you know how to contact me if you need me." Cameron left her with a wink, before turning to walk out of the front door once more. On the small concrete in front, which was what the porch was consisted of, Cameron moved to the side of the door and crouched down, resting his elbows on his knees. Sunrise wasn't too far ahead, but for now it was still dark. Some lights in the distance were still on. Crickets and cincadas chirped about from various directions. Fireflies occasionally illuminated random parts of the darkness all around what Cameron described as a 'shack'.

Chantal smiled gently as Cameron's lips touched her cheek and took the pillow that was offered to her, which didn't look as pleasing to rest her head upon – well, nothing in this apartment looked safe to rest on. As her soul partner left with a wink, she looked around. All of the other souls were fast asleep or was getting ready to be, which was understandable due to what has happened over a short amount of time.

She saw a small space in a nearby corner that he pondered would be a nice place for her to rest, but then she looked back at the door; and then the pillow. She caressed it with her thumbs before making her way to the door, soon finding Cameron onto the side of it, crouching. Chantal cleared her throat quietly and moved to the right of him, placing the pillow down for her to sit on.

Once she was comfortable, her eyes stared out to the distance to also watch the fireflies before her head found it's way onto Cameron's shoulder, sleep starting to overcome her. While she gave into temptation, she whispered, “You follow me, I'll follow you. Plus, you're much more comfortable than this pillow.” With a light chuckle, she fell into slumber.

(time skip? o;)

TIME SKIP TO THE MORNING!

--

Katarina's eyes quickly shot open, waking in a place unfamiliar. She didn't even know when she fell asleep last night. She stretched, feeling something on her side. The locket. Katarina quickly realized, this wasn't her tiny apartment or Lexi's cozy abode. It was a house with corpses, and one of those corpses were this girl in the locket. She opened up the locket again, looking into the bright cyan eyes once again. Katarina shivered when she felt the similar surge that she felt the night before. Shoving the locket into her pocket, she slowly pushed herself up. She didn't want to be in this place anymore.

Valentina slowly opened her eyes and then set them. The sun was bright and she wonder why she was even outside. She stumbles up and yawns loudly, rubbing her eyes. Her stomachs growls and she goes inside to get some breakfast. The events of last night fill her mind, "actually I'm not all that hungry."

Julie walked out of the shower room. He was reluctant to go at first, but he decided to go after all early in the morning. It shouldn't had been surprising that the faucet didn't drip blood or the shower head wouldn't shoot out human intestines. It was a quite normal, albeit a little dusty.

"We should go scavenge for supplies in the town" Julie told them as he dries himself using Honesty's powers. His clothes were clean too, he had handwashed the filth off of them in the sink a bit earlier while everyone was more or less asleep before again asking Honesty to help dry his clothes.

@chompie

(don't mind me using your character to dry myself )

By the time the morning came, Cameron switched from the crouching position to the sitting position, and he hadn't slept a second. He was up the entire night, but he wasn't feeling tired. Despite this, it didn't change the fact that he had no chance of feeling energized throughout the day. Eventually, Cameron knew he would crash. Somehow, miraculously, he would have to stay awake up until they reached the south and got supplies.

"We should only grab necessities for our trip. The place we're going to down south is only fourty minutes away from here by car. If we walk the entire way, we could get there in two hours, three with stops if we need them." It was the only thing he had to put in, for now. His arm was wrapped around Chantal, having readjusted her at some point during the night to make them both comfortable. Cameron's back was leaning against the wall, with his legs spread out and his knees slightly bent so his feet could be planted firmly on the ground.

James walked over to the two sleeping souls. Then he put a little flash in cameron's face and ran. He was in one heck of a hole by now. He just flashed the whole house with light.. he was such a jerk. He decided it would soon realize that he was the youngest one there. And so, he hid in the bathroom behind a shower curtain.

A NOVEL
