Fantasy Soul Secrets

Ben nodded. "I dont really feel like getting upset over this.." she tried to explain, pulling herself in closer. "If.. if kids are dead in there its not gonna change anything for us.. or them if we get upset." she said before hearing the destruction. She watvhed them enter but didnt look herself.

Lexi 's intense feelings at this moment were pretty much terror and worried mashed together, so much so that the light buld came to life but then burst Leaving her dazed, Lexi raised her hand and created a current flowing between her hands she moved forward to inspect the room, but when she saw the bodies, her current dimmed and went out as quickly as it came.

Katarina sighed of relief as Ben started making more sense. She entered the room with Lexi, cautiously and curiously. The light suddenly turned on, due to the work of Lexi. Katarina quickly scanned the room, but the light went out. Looking at the bodies suddenly became more difficult. She carefully walked up to one of the more petite smaller bodies and took the locket out of her pocket. It was the same girl that was in the locket. She stumbled out of the door, covering her mouth. She didn't like seeing corpses up and close. Katarina quickly had the instinct to throw up, but she fought it.

Katarina could finally see what made Valentina all shook up.

Lex heard Kat run out of the room, but she couldn't move. Sick wasn't a strong enough to describe how she felt. She fell to her knees next to the 3 small bodies. Tears silently poured down her face. Flashing images invaded her mind. Screams, cries for help drowned out by more screams. Blood splattering the walls as she was restrained. Unable to help as her family were shot for hiding her, keeping her a secret. She crawled closer to the bodies. She stopped crying, she only stared blankly, trapped in her thoughts she was unable to do any more then relive the memories that haunted her.

James walked over to the others. "Alright, what the hell is in there? Cause it sure shook up all of you." James was confused, but didn't want to go in there if it scared everyone else. He just waited in front of the door. He was not going in that door if it was going to scare him that bad... Lexi was in shock, Kat looked like she was throwing up, and Julie... Well, he was still in there. Whatever it was, that bedroom was a bad thing...

Tears begin to fall as Valentina saw the state of the others. "I'm sorry I tried to protect you guys but I-I failed." She wished she'd never step foot into that stupid bedroom or that they even came to this town.

Ben slowly made her way into the bedroom. She hugged lexi protectively and shhed. "..its okay.. ive got you.. nobodys gonna hurt you.." she knew the feeling way to well. When she looked at the scene, she felt too numb to care. It would be stockpiled in a nightmare but for now there was nothing anyone could do to make this better or worse.

"..here.. " her shaking hand rose and flowers grew between the floorboards, gently moving the bodies to sleep like positions and hugged them.

"Its okay... lexi we're not gonna let anything like this happen to us.. or maybe ever again.. its okay.."

Lexi barely noticed the warmth that came with Ben's hug, she heard her voice, but it was muffled, drowned out by gunshots replaying in her head. A ghost of a smile shadow her face, the beautiful resting place that Ben made she did notice. She watched as Ben guided the flowers as they grew, they seemed to cradle the children in their sleep. She wished she could have done something like this for her own siblings. She used have two baby sisters and a protective older brother. They were left lying there in her sitting room, lying in blood. Their blood. At least these kids had a respectful resting place for now.

Her eyes rose to meet Ben's and past her to see the others at the door. Remaining silent she untangled herself from the kind green soul but held onto her hand tightly. She walked out of the room bringing Ben with her and paused in front of James. "Bodies.. children's corpses, that's what's in there.." Her voice was barely louder than a whisper and trailed off at the end.

Oh, wonderful. Chantal was crying. This was exactly what Cameron was hoping didn't happen when she woke up, but he knew it would. There was nothing for him to do, once more, than just be there. He kept his arms around her, holding her close while everyone freaked out about something. Sure it wasn't anything to worry about because there was no fighting going on, Cameron would just sit there with Chantal, having no reason to move at the moment. He rested his chin on the top of her head, breathing softly as she continued. He was so tired, really. The excitement they day brought had seemingly wiped his energy out completely. If only they were regular humans - this genetic business, the reason why they're souls, was the true culprit here. They had no choice, none of them chose to be souls.

He didn't speak. There was nothing for him to say. Cameron didn't think everything would be honkey-dorey forever, and he accepted that. But the SEP hunting down souls happened so soon and abruptly, that it kind of threw him off from the get go. A few days later, he's practically overrun by his emotions and had thrown rationality completely out of the door, all mostly for the woman who was crying in his lap. He had only met her two days ago, and for some reason, the grip she had on his consciousness was nothing less than torment. Well... It should have been torment, to him. Before he met her, Cameron was a shut-in. Working out and keeping in shape was something he could do in his home, and he did but when it came to dealing with other people, he hated it. He hated the way people stared at his eyes when they weren't hidden, hated the way souls were treated in public, human mannerisms really grossed him out. After all that, why even bother leaving his apartment? Every soul was different, acted differently, but colors flocked to the same patterns. Cameron didn't know any pink souls, throughout his entire lifetime. There were certainly none in his grade level when he was in school. Meeting Chantal flipped a switch, something changed in him that day.

Ben followed behind with no hesitation, grip strong as well. She watched lexi carefully, seeing she distance in her eyes come back to focus. Speaking, she wasnt great at and she wanted lexi to do first. To make sure she was okay. Ben just hoped the poor girl felt her comfort in some way or another. that she would never be alone to witness and deal with such things.

Lexi gazed at the people around her. Not noticing she still still had a vice grip on Ben's hand she took a blanket up off the floor and moved herself and Ben near to the corner. She slide herself down the wall and looked up at Ben, she pulled the double blanket over herself and motioned for Ben to sit next to her. "Here, it's a comfy blanket and big enough for us both.."

"Thank you, lexi." She said with a gracious smile and she took a seat. Her eyes were avoiding contact with the door now. Chest feeling a little less hollow, the smiles that she would offer would be honest. She had yet to address the manner of Lex's panicing but recognized it as that of trauma. She inhaled and spoke.

"When we wake up tomorrow, want to go on a walk? We dont have to say anything but just walk." She offered quietly.

It wasn't like her normal smile, but still she tried to when Ben mention going for a walk. Lexi thought briefly about how in another life maybe, she could do these normal things, make friends with her at school, drag her back to her house and dye her hair for her, watch movies. "Yeah, I'd like that. say if life ever goes back to normal." She took a deep breath and stared up at the ceiling fighting tears at the thought of her once normal life. "I'll take you to the hairdresser with me and we'll both dye our hair, what do you say?"

Bens bottom lip quivered in her next smile. She wanted this so badly. If she was born to a different life at a different school with these people. She would want to make her life their perfect. No teen, hell, nobody deserves to be taken as a race into such a world where everyone seems to want you dead. But... maybe they were infected in a way because something knew they were strong and brave. "Yeah. That would be a lot of fun." So much weight held between their short exchanges. Simple words stretched like feeble canvas over their thoughts.

Julie regained his senses, it was as if he disconnected for a moment. He couldn't stop the others from seeing, his mind went asleep for sometime and he had just woken up. He placed a blanket over the dead children in respect, planning to give them a proper funeral later. Grimly walking out, he looked at the others with a gloomy expression."Sorry you guy had to see that." Julie hugged the nearest person, whoever they were. The hug was for his own comfort too,"I am so sorry, I don't know what to say."

She gasp as Julie hugged her. "I don't want to say I told you so but I told you so." She gives him a watery smile and looks at the other. "Maybe we should all just cuddle tonight, you know for comfort and warmth." She wiped her tears, she had to be strong now, not just for herself but her new family now.

Lex tuned to study Ben's face. They both seemed lost and possibly drowning in their thoughts. She leaned into her and out her arms lightly around the ever so slightly taller girl. "Do you mind?" She yawned deeply. "We should get some sleep after everything.."

Ben relaxed in agreement and and laid back. "Yeah... be be-" a yawn cut her off, proving they are contagious. "Better to function tomorrow." She rubbed her eye and looked to the other blonde. "By the way.. thank you." She had her reasons for saying this. Maybe eventually she would expalin said gratitude but tonight was too late and too draining for it to mean anything.

(i'm so sleepy but the show must go on!)

Chantal's shoulders shook as she cried. She was so tired of everything, so very tired. All of this happened in just a day and now she was under the category of a fugitive, something that she never expected would happen to her in a lifetime. She was fine being incognito from the S.E.P., wearing contacts to hide her bright pink eyes and just acting like she was a normal being with no powers when she wasn't at home.

Ever since Chantal was sixteen and when her mother had found out that she possessed a soul, nothing had changed between them. Her mother saw nothing wrong and still treated her as the daughter whom she loved. Her father, on the other hand, left the family in fear and hatred. 'I never wanted a freak as a daughter', was the last thing he said to them as he walked out the door from their lives.

She continued to cry, feeling a head rest on top of hers. The sadness within her gradually turned into irritation as she noticed everyone being calm about everything, but was freaked out a moment ago, and Cameron not doing anything to comfort her. As much as she appreciated him being there, this wasn't the time that his mere presence was going to sooth things over.

Chantal shifted her body to be out of Cameron's embrace, getting up and rested on her knees, as she turned back to look at him with tearful eyes; her face blushed. She sighed and then frowned at the male, standing up to walk over to the nearest windowsill with her own arms wrapped around her. She sat on the sill, not worried about dust or webs, and just looked out the window intently; resting her head against the glass from feeling a bit faint, still.

Julie let go of Valentina and walked out front door,"Try to sleep well." He told them, but it was more like a request. Slumping outside on the wall, he looks up at the sky. Stars, a trillion of them visible. It was because this city was dead that there were no light to drown them out. Julie glanced around the city, there were a few lights on in houses here and there. It wasn't as dead as everyone thought. He kept a close watch as he sits outside.

Lexi had already started to drift off when she heard Ben say thank you. Thank you? To Lexi? What had she done to deserve any thanks? She hasn't been able to stop anyone's pain, the most she's done is offer everyone cookies.Ben saved Lexi's life! With out her, Lexi probably would've been captured without her, or died. She tried to form a coherent response. "mhmms'oakyyoudontthavmm.." was all she managed to get out before she lost her battle fighting her drooping eyelids.

As she released herself from his grasp, Cameron's eyes followed Chantal as she moved to the windowsill. She wanted comfort, but she wasn't going to get it. Not in a world like this, and not from a guy like him. With as many problems as he had on his own, he just simply didn't know how. He never did. Empathy wasn't a strong suit of his, when most of the time he was busy trying to drown out his own emotions.

With her apparent disintrest in the current situation, Cameron rose to his feet but kept his back against the wall. He crossed his arms, leaning against it and closed his eyes. At the ankles, even his feet crossed, too. No matter how he felt about Chantal, the simple fact was he couldn't be her emotional savior. Being her rock was one thing, but he didn't have the mental capacity to sooth issues of that particular variety. He simply didn't have it in him.

When he heard footsteps near, he opened an eye and saw Julie walk right past him and out the door. Feeling as though it was his cue to move since no one was following the other man, Cameron turned quickly and walked out the front door as well. Noticing Julie was stuck in thought, Cameron walked a couple of feet, stopping at his side.

The young man knew he was being annoying about this, but now was the perfect time. They were resting, weren't they?
"Seriously. We need to figure out where we go next. We can't stay here." Cameron didn't even witness what the rest did, he just wasn't going to live in some old, dusty shack that was waiting to collapse on them all.

Valentine scooted over to Lexi and Ben. "Sorry guys but I really just need to cuddle and be warm." She then laid with them and smiled. "Goodnight."

Ben had her eyes already closed, but she lightly pulled the blunt up over them fully and smiled. "mm.. night Val.. Lex." She closed her eyes, feeling for once safe to do so without fear of the realm of memories. They may be in a hell hole of a situation but at least they had each other to defend both physically and otherwise.

"You had something planned, a safehouse?" Julie asked but not looking."We're just kids, I can't imagine how to go on with a revolution, but I know you can Cameron. With our powers, we could easily make a shelter somewhere. Preferably in a desolate forest or mountain, someplace with running water, but what do we do after? Just living there is no permanent solution." He sighed. Julie wasn't annoyed at Cameron but at himself.
