One by one, students began to line up, but it didn't last long. It was like they all had ADHD and couldn't sit still for a mere second let alone listen to measly instruction. It's embarassing to say the least to be underminded as if he wasn't even a real teacher, which is true, but that didn't mean he was meant to be ignored given his status as a Death Scythe, he would think everything would go accordingly. If his brother's were here it would be a non-stop tease fest given how much he would boast to his brothers about his intellegence only to backfire when given the opportunity to prove his teaching skills. Mediocre at best, but he had to start somewhere. Ultimately, failing his meister. One thing he can relate is he was no different around their age. A dilinquent trying to get by, eager to let loose with so much energy and without a care in the world. Upsetting? Yes. The energy that everyone in the room has, however, it won't last long when their upcoming challenge hasn't even begun and their whole world has yet to face what's outside the walls.

CJ's Onyx eyes scroll down to a small child much like Kathrine. A brow quirked as his gender was undefined. He kindly refrained from any pronouns, but once they spoke it was evident. He mentioned with confidence that the only wielder is himself. "Then what the hell is the point of showing up to orientation?" He thought. Ksenia walks in with twins behind her, informing him that they were the last students of the day and asked what to do with them. Hard to believe when a group after a few more other continue to come late. CJ takes a second glance at the disaster of students wandering about again and arguing. He sweat drops finding it difficult to concentrate and even run the class. He prefferred the quiet and really wish he was just standing by, watching. "Seeing as you're late and everyone is pretty much matched, all three of you may sit on the side of the bleachers. I'm sure one of the meisters is running late as well. Once the pairing is done, we will put you into teams. It shouldn't take long." He directed. The arguing stopped, as one of the girls called out to CJ and asked to pair up with the blonde. Another, with a timid voice whom sounded as if underwater let CJ know he was already content with his partner and paired just fine. The Death Scythe grumbled in aggrivation. Nearby he can hear his brothers laughing. A camera hidden behind them shaped as a skull decoration. The voice only audiable to those close to it.

"Looks like CJ can't even handle kids. I told you they are worse than me." A teasing tone coming from the snickering twin brother that is DJ. CJ grits his teeth ready to argue back. "I know what you're thinking, let them be." The new voice, feminie and strong. None other than Lady Death herself. "These kids won't have a lot of time on their hands to be so energetic when they get the bigger picture. I also see the girl with madness has found a compatable partner as did the hyper one. I know I said I wanted things to go accordingly as planned, but matchmaking sometimes isn't a choice with these children." With a heavy sigh, the Death Scythe nods in agreement before giving the okay to the pepermint girl. "That's fine with me. If you feel your bond with her is close, then I don't see why not. Everyone pretty much else did." He pointed everyone in the room. "Xavian, how are you enjoying the class so far? I hope they are to your liking. They've certainly peeked my interest. As of today the kids are your students. I wish to see them whipped up in shape with Ksenia and the next time I see them, give me one-hundred percent attention than it is now. We don't have time for nonsense. Time is running short." Death lectured. "CJ is still in charge until they pass their provisional exam. Plus I want to see him fail." The bookworm glares at the skull. "Hey!" He cried causing Death to chuckle. "Just kidding. I'll be here evaluating in silence." CJ hummed unsure to Jay was joking or not. He turns to Koira, "Sure, if your bond feels as close and compatable, go ahead. Everyone pretty much else did. As for everyone else, you guys can start searching for your partners." He points to the room bouncing around with excitement. "Hey Xavian, why don't I let you lead this one. Assign teams and lead. I'd like to observe your teaching methods." The male squats down into his casual position, holding out his book and reads as he waits for Xavian to start.

Slowly, Viola drifted deeper into the confines of her mind, growing hopeless when suddenly, someone called out to her. Almost a hissing noise. Her head rose greeted by a double colored girl. Her scar was questionable it made her frown. Who would hurt such a person? She swore by the hand of justice, she will wreck havoc on the one responsible. "chin up" she said. The sweet gesture was enough to make Viola smile. The dark thoughts vanished for the time being until two people started a quarrel. The fool that scorched the ceiling and a blonde that didn't quite make sense when she argued about weapons. Wow, the way she worded it could have been better, and it seems as though she noticed. The hooded girl's eyes shifted one after the other like a game of Ping-pong. The guy really made it out for himself. People were ticked. One after the other non-stop it was annoying Viola, giving her a headache. If this is how these people were going to act, she didn't want them in her class. Why couldn't they see there was more to it? What is the purpose to hate one another? That is not what she was taught. She holds her head trying to block out the noise, before she bursted into rage.

The moment was cut off when Viola sensed something sinister. She didn't know where or who, she closed her eyes trying to focus as she tried to block out the noise. Erratic, but visiable for her to see clearly latched onto the blonde's soul. "There you are." An unfamiliar presence but she can see it. What could it be. Is the girl an agent of evil or something? It was best to keep an eye on her. Viola's focus was distorted as the same, girl from across intervened, finally stopping the nonsene. Purple eyes locked onto the blonde with her guard up almost as if will to put her down should she need to, but she supposed they allowed her in for a reason. What stunned Viola the most was when the heterochromatic-girl started calming the blonde after putting up a bun and having a chat. The blonde easily cheered up. It was unorthadox and dangerous, yet intriguing at the same time. The white haired girl knew how to calm her down. What's more, Viola's thoughts traveled to the peppermint looking bun glistening beautifully as the colors compliment each other. Being an artist, her soul sang over the picture. Viola jolts when the brunette from this morning scolds her proclaimed partner about making a scene and having a target. She scoffed, "maybe she will straighten him out?"

CJ's announcement and answer to the blonde gave everyone the go to pair up. Taking his advice, Viola closes her eyes and takes a deep breath counting each intake as her mind sores deep within her. Her soul starting to grow a little loose enough to search for her partner. Who will she pair up with and can they be trusted? There were only a few people left and she didn't even know the second group. That was her only choice and prayed they would be a faithful companion. She desperately needed someone easy and kind to talk to like Arma when he first introduced himself. He gave her a big goofy grin and didn't even bother trying to invade her privacy, excluding the close proximety. Her cheeks flushed at the thought but shakes her head returning to her search. Each soul was interesting, a Magenta sparked with such flair, a multi-colored soul filled with such excitement. Another as if a whirl of chaos and confusion, with a hint of mystery, a gluttonous soul gushing like goo which honestly looked cool. Then there was another. The one that spoke to her the most. So goofy...warmhearted yet closed off? Similar to her. Once close enough, she opens her eyes and sees a boy with snow hair. Quite a beautiful color and oddly the dominant color of the class. She hasn't seen him before, a group two member. A boy though...not what she envisioned to be honest. He seemed full of himself, confidentally calling her by her description and babbling about connection as if it was a cheap soap-opera quote. Viola's eye twitched under the shade of her hood. "This is the guy? Seriously?" She thought to herself. What choice did he have when everyone else is pretty much taken. Humming, as she leans back looking up and down. "You don't have good manners do you? That will need work. You had a great intro, but you may want to take a look in the mirror and practice your speech. I promise you it will do you wonders." She scoffed and bowed. "A pleasure to meet your acquaintance and glad to be your partner. I promise you, by the end of the year you'll be a phenomenal weapon which everyone adores." She smiled. Viola was back to her proper, ettiquet ways. A little condescending, but misunderstood with good intentions.

Like a few others, Bill had himself gotten engrossed in the petty argument taking place between the blonde haired girl and the dark haired boy, their bickering back and forth doing little to ease the tensions already present in the room. It seemed as if something that Alice had said had been the trigger this time, Kasper's argument taking on a far different tone than the one he had displayed whilst giving his speech a few minutes ago.

Seeing their argument escalate, the innocence in Bill began to pour out as he felt the need to intervene, to walkover and broker peace between the two hotheads for the sake of their school year. yet part of him also hesitated and prevented him from doing so. The mere thought of the price he would have to pay in order to accomplish that goal was daunting to say the least as his trove of yum yums was already dwindling in size. With limited supplies he wasn't sure if he could sacrifice any more munchies in order to achieve that peace. Much less, he still hadn't forgiven Kasper for making him waste a perfectly fine packet of crisp, that alone made him slightly biased and on Alice's side, even if he didn't fully understand what they were arguing about in the first place.

Thankfully though it seemed like fate had other plans and by sheer fortune of the two woman whom had joined the scene, their arguments had been quashed. Each hothead's antics being put to rest by their new partner. With a final bite finishing off the remaining remnant of meat on his stick, Bill gave a satisfied smile as he closed his eyes and patted to his stomach, savouring the delicacy he just started to chew on, only to have his nirvana interrupted. Two heavy hands were soon placed upon Bills shoulders, catching him by surprise as he suddenly swallowed the bite he had just taken, the food just about making it down the passage rather than choking him on the spot.

"YOU! You are a kindred soul! I can see it even without any supernatural form of vision! With a love for the simple gifts in life! And a penchant for green hues! What say ye, lad? Let us set sail upon this world in the name of the conquest of tasteful pleasures! To be feared by buffets, and our names branded into the minds of even the bravest of cooks! To plunder and pillage as we please!"

Opening his eyes and gasping for breath momentarily as he forced the food down, Bill's teary eyed eyes were greeting with the sight of Erik standing right in front of him, his arms bridging the gap between the two men as they held firm to his shoulders, this muscled man speaking in a rather wierd manner that Bill wasn't completely following; though he did clearly hear the words Buffet and tasteful pleasures, and that was all it took for Bill to agree to this man's request, the idea of getting to go to a buffet was always going to be well recieved by Bill, much less the idea of getting to experience tasteful pleasures.

Placing both of his hands onto Erik's shoulders, replicating Erik's hold. Bill with the widest of smiles agreed. "Yes!, Let us venture forth into the world of food, to visit every buffet and experience their tasteful pleasures! Lets leave no food untasted, no food wasted, and no food unloved! Let us feast! Hoorah!! Banzai! Yiipie Ka-yay!!! Hip hip Hooray!!!"

Kat tried to tune out the argument as she watched CJ, waiting for his signal. She couldn't ignore that some people were already finding partners. She stared down at the floor with a pouty face. She was actually happy for Alice and Koira, and she was indifferent to Kasper's pairing (at least he found somebody); however, she wasn't happy with people jumping the gun. What if someone else found Elyn first because they started before the signal?

She felt a fist gently bumping her shoulder and looked up to see Erik. Her pouty face melted into a smile. "Nyan! That would be fun!" she replied, before watching him find a partner moments later. Still no signal and the pouty face returned. "Should I just start too...?"

She closed her eyes and entered her mind space. "Here goes nothing..." She activates Soul Perception and is met with a cacophony of souls. "Nya!" She was immediately overwhelmed with the sizes and colors, it all nearly blinded her mind's eye. And the noise! It was all a garbled mess that she couldn't make out anything that the souls were saying. "Come on, focus. You got to find Elyn!"

Her eyes scrunched up as she meditated. "Focus...focus....focus....Nyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaa!" Her face looked like she was trying to go Super Saiyan. The excess noise started to go away and the first patch of souls vanished from her view. "I'm doing it! Just a little more! Nyyyyyaaaaaaaaa!" More souls vanished from her awareness and soon she found herself face to face with a large golden soul. "Nyyaaan!" she wowed, eye's sparkling at the sight. "This must be it!" The soul looked too big for someone smaller than her, but it looked strong. It also felt heavy; Kat got the sensation that some kind of burden was weighing it down, but she couldn't glean any more information than that. The roaring in her soul confirmed that this was indeed Elyn's soul and that was more than enough for her; Though, she couldn't help wondering if this burden she felt had anything to do with Kasper's remarks. "Better not pry. I'm sure he'd tell me when he felt ready, nyan."

She opened her eyes and giggled happily at the sight of Elyn in front of her. She ran up to him and tapped him on the shoulder, thinking he was still meditating. "Nyan, nyan! Did you see that! Did ya, did ya?" she asked with childish excitement. "You were meditating, so maybe you didn't...but I told you we'd be partners, nyan!" She grinned big, showing off her snaggletooth.

Wait...was that Lady Death? When did she walk in? "Nyan, nyan...am I the hyper one?" she whispered to Elyn. Did that mean if she had waited for the actual signal, maybe she wouldn't have to gone through all that? "Nyan!" She shook that thought out of her head. It was good that she went through all of that. She wouldn't get better at the soul stuff if she didn't try any of it.

JEEZ! Everyone was so tense it felt like he was going to suffocate with how much all these students were bitin' back at each other. All the different personalities in the room clashing and creating new rivalries and friendships was something he wasn't unfamiliar with, being in that kind of environment constantly within his own home allowed the somewhat focused loudmouth to retain a kind of zen that most probably didn't expect from him. Through all of this, he was just messing around with Sebastian's weapon form, spinning around the AWESOME and SUPER COOL re-whatever bow however he liked, even at one point balancing the spinning ranged weapon on his nose like a seal would with a beach ball while he stretched out his arms. Once he was done with that the boy would flick his head up to toss Sebastian a bit into the air before catching him with once again, dropping onto the floor to do some leg stretches as the inevitable Capture the Flag match began to creep closer. His attention was only drawn away once two MORE students showed up at the last second, a pair of girls that HAD to be twins, one of them waving at him with the same energy that he would toward others! SWEET! Rolling backward into a handstand, he would quickly lift one of his hands to wave back at the girl: "HEY HEY! Name's Arma!"
While he had been waving though, the meister had forgotten the one thing that he was always taught about weapons, they telepa-whatever with their meisters. The word don't matter all that did was that it was a FOREIGN VOICE IN YER BRAIN! At the sudden explanation given by Sebastian while he had been stretching, Arma jolted at his partner's voice and nearly lost his balance before stabilizing himself again. "Wait its made of my own wavelength? That's AWESOME! So even though I'm not actually punching someone I'm punchin' em? That's so COOL!" Letting himself fall, the meister would return to standing on his two legs and not looking like a weirdo walking around on a handstand. When his partner tried to tell the teacher that they were partnered up, probably forgetting that they can only really communicate with each other when he's in the weapon form, Arma echoed his statement, standing confidently as he held out his new buddy Sebastian.

Since the two of 'em had already been partners, the loudmouth decided to plop down on his seat and watch as everyone began searching for their partners. Not gonna lie it was funny since it looked like a game of Marco Polo where everyone was trying to seek out Polo! Chuckling to himself, he would think to Sebastian: Ya know. Its gonna be really fun losing to all of 'em. A lot of 'em are like UBER confident that they're gonna win and it's kinda sad. I mean.. what's the point in bein' the best? Where's the fun in that? It'll be fun to lose and then slowly reach towards the top, gettin' better and better every time ya know? Rather than bein' stuck with nothing to strive toward. Either way, its gonna be HELLA FUN!||

Koira Farech and Alice Drake
(small collab with Britt-21 Britt-21 )

It would seem people were starting to find their partners so she assumed that there would be no issue with her current stance, figure still blocking out any more of Kasper’s gazes that she could only hope had ceased. Alice had been pretty close to making a scene and she felt it, her wavelength having immediately shot out to quell the madness that was churning there like a starving animal. Kasper was intriguing though and his personality seemed to be all over the place. His thoughts and actions heavily mimicked that of a chess board, sometimes a move seeming chaotic or unorthodox but she knew his end game was already mapped out in his head. Most people seemed to play into his every move, allowing him victory, but Koira? Koira was a master at being just as many steps ahead as the person on the other side of the board. The way he had peered at her in return gave her a chill but it was exciting, enticing even. Nobody had ever looked at her that way, a weird hunger having drowned in his eyes. It wasn’t lust. It was an insatiable game that the boy seemed to like to play and Koira had just become a player in it. If he wants entertainment, I’ll just have to live up to that hype. I’m not about to step back from the challenge I saw in his eyes. Especially if it takes the heat off of Alice. A grin slowly took over, fingers now tapping a silent song against her cheek. Oh, this’ll be fun. The weird sinister side of her started to surface, eyes glazed over in a devious manner.

Thank you kindly. “ She responded as CJ gave her the go ahead. Well now there surely was no turning back. She remained silently content though that silence would only last for so long as Alice spoke up shortly after.

If Koira was happy, it only momentarily showed in a flash of a smirk. Alice had accepted her as her partner and her soul was already reaching out as her hand shot out in unison. She grasped Alice’s hand tightly, fingers sliding between her own as they laced around them tightly. Unlike the normal blinding light that normally would encase a weapon, her form burst into icy flames that rose towards the ceiling. They began to vortex inwards as her body changed, an ebony handle appearing as a blade shimmered through the flames, revealing a scythe that was pristine, beautiful and eerie at the same time. The top half of the scythe itself seemed transparent, though the colours shone brightly. It was elegantly simple but complex, a clear mimicry of her soul. It felt refreshing to be like this, in the hands of someone that she felt so drawn to. It was like a calming lullaby, the way they entwined together, and she could feel a pull that she only figured was something that Alice dealt with every second of every day. Her eyes drew to a serene close as she embraced Alice’s own wavelength along with the oddities of the madness that was clearly there. She knew that madness would be ameliorated by her own wavelength, the two acting to cancel one another out. Koira was curious however if her stifling it would only cause to make it worse if she wasn’t around. She’s strong, she’s gotten this far. As long as I have my wavelength to keep it at bay, I should be safe from being compelled by it. Plus, my will is not easily swayed or breached.

I have another form but this isn’t the time for it. Does this one suffice? Koira asked, voice ringing out a bit clearer than she was accustomed to in their heads. She hastily grew quiet, words almost cut short as she realized the weirdness of it. She’d only attempted to be wielded once at the Oceania DWMA and she ended up severely hurting the meister’s hands and being dropped to the floor which didn’t feel too delightful either. She was incompatible with everyone there due to their uneasiness and beliefs of what happened when she was younger. At least one person had the nerve to try but their distaste for her past was clear the second their hands were on her weapon form. She hadn’t been dropped and Alice didn’t seem to be in any pain so that was a good sign. Perhaps her Aunt was right and a new start where not a single soul knew of her was for the best. After all, the demon scythe had blood on her hands that would never be washed clean no matter how much time passed. Koi wondered if Alice could sense what she was feeling so she quickly buried it deep, not wanting to share anything intimate, even if she knew the blonde’s most well kept secret. Fairness wasn’t exactly a trait that she understood, always having had to swim against the current in life to get anywhere. Life wasn’t fair. It never would be.

Alice was impressed by the form that Koira's shifting had taken. It was nothing like the ordinary changes. Her emerald green eyes then laid upon the scythe in her hands. The form was beautiful, magnificent even. Pleasing to the eyes and very light " This one is perfect, Koira. Your form is absolutely stunning..." she said in awe, lifting her just barely and feeling like she weighed nothing. Alice began to feel something within their wavelength and took note of the sudden uneasiness that popped up. It had to be Koi's feelings. But to avoid pressing the matters, she stepped forward and made sure not to be near anyone else. " It's an honor to be your Meister. " she said with that smile still on her face as she suddenly spun Koira in front of her before taking a stance and allowing the handle of the blade to rest upon her shoulders while the blade hung off her side " I can get used to this. "

An overwhelming sense of pride rose up when Alice complimented her form, so much in fact that her soul flared up in response like a fire being fed. She was pretty satisfied with the way that her new meister swung her around so effortlessly as if it was second nature to her. As she came to rest on her shoulder she couldn’t help but curiously use this vantage point to peer over towards Kasper, noticing he as well had taken his weapon form. At first she didn’t see anything, no weapon adorning Kye’s hands, instead he was on her hand. A ring? From what little she had gathered of the boy, he was an enigma, and she knew deep down that there was much more to him than the ring presenting itself on his meister’s hand. It must be like my other form… acting as an accessory that isn’t just simply for looks. While her attention started to shift she made note to keep her ears open, curious about what his new meister, Kye, had to say about Kasper's weapon form.

I hope our partnership knows no bounds, Alice Drake. Koira thought with determination as she looked around the gym and surveyed everyone else starting to pair up. Admittedly some of the pairs were an oddity but those such as Erik and Bill made complete sense to her. She was happy the war machine had found a partner and they both seemed extremely pleased about it. That was her nickname for Erik; the war machine. It was only fitting with his physique and stature. Even Elgin seemed to have found a partner and she shuddered a bit when she realized the poor kind hooded girl that stood across from her in the line was going to have to weather that storm. Somehow though, she had an inkling that Elgin would be very swiftly put in his place. Viola didn't seem like the type who would put up with his crap. The kitty girl and the shield boy from before had found one another and it was too perfect, they were small and clearly compatible. They are the cutest pair I've seen.... Her thoughts trailed off as she hated admitting that. Very rarely did she find something adorable.

Kyleigha Ford
As she’d rambled on, Kyleigha had noticed that for once, Kasper didn’t seem quite so certain of himself. His stuttering kind of gave that away so she would’ve noticed even if she hadn’t also been able to feel the hesitations in his soul’s wavelengths. She felt those too, though. Kye got the feeling that he didn’t find himself uncertain about many things in the life that he was used to living. She did know that whatever life he was living was over now, though, because otherwise there was no way he would still be standing in the DWMA as the process of partnering as a weapon and meister was thrust upon them without much option to it at all.

His eyes glanced around briefly, confirming that Kyleigha had been right in her statement that no one was clamoring over to be his partner. She was actually a bit disappointed by that. He didn’t trust her to tell the truth?

That disappointment was about to take a backseat, though.

Kyleigha was rolling her eyes at what appeared to be overly dramatic antics as he took her hand and appeared to be dropping down on one knee. All the added scenery really wasn’t necessary; he could’ve simply said yes. However, her gaze shifted to a subtle glimmer of excitement as she realized she was going to finally learn his weapon form. Some sort of gun, most likely, given the gunshot she’d heard earlier when he’d been “performing” on the bleachers. That was certainly something she could work with. The glimmer of excitement lasted maybe two seconds.

Then it was gone.

Kasper was gone.

And there was no weapon in her hand.

The only thing that was different was that an obsidian ring now adorned Kyleigha’s ring finger. There was a pause as she studied it briefly, but that moment didn’t last long. Then everything exploded from within her. “Seriously!? That’s it!? All that big talk and you’re a ring!? Not even any spikes… not even weighted in any manner… you’re a fuckin’ ring!?” Kye’s eyes shifted up to the people around her, almost hoping anyone was judging her for the decision she’d made to take him on as her partner so she could deliver a firm punch directly into someone’s gut. That was what she desperately needed to do right now. Unfortunately, she didn’t meet any gazes that seemed to judge in a manner that would allow them to punch anyone with any amount of justification behind it.

Kye did see other things. She saw that the girl who Kasper had been arguing with moments ago now held a scythe in her hands. A beautiful blade that she found herself envying. It was a weapon Kyleigha very well knew how to use - anyone who wanted to attend the DWMA as a meister sought to learn to wield a scythe. It was a legendary weapon only often heard of when in the hands of a legendary meister. And Kyleigha needed to be able to live up to those legends. She couldn’t do that with a ring. Her eyes watched Alice and Koira for probably longer than was appropriate before she finally let her eyes wander more. There was a bow out there too. She could’ve even made that work.

But a ring…?

‘Explain yourself!’ Kyleigha demanded through the link she now shared with her “weapon” partner. By that point, she had removed the piece of jewelry from her finger, but still held it in her hand, willing to give him this one chance to redeem himself even slightly.

Xavian Shilder and Ksenia Sobol
Xavian and Ksenia had been teaching at the DWMA for their fair share of years. They’d both worked with Lady Death quite extensively on both recruiting appropriate students and on making sure they had appropriate meisters and weapons to handle certain complications that might come with some of the students they brought on board. So far, it seemed like students were pairing up in manners that would work out quite well for the future progress of the class as a whole, and Xavian and Ksenia both subtly nodded as Lady Death remarked on that. Another thing their trained eyes caught onto was the fact that some of the pairings that were forming would certainly need more work than others.

CJ instructed the three leftover weapons - Carlin, Audriella and Lilibell - to wait on the bleachers as pairs formed, but Ksenia caught them before they could wander off. “Actually, I’m going to have you split off to get teams started for the game to come. Girls, you go to the left and you’ll start our blue team. And then you,” she said to Carlin, “will be the first on our red team.”

Xavian nodded and then heard CJ give him the go ahead to get the game started. “Alright everyone, listen up!” his voice boomed enough to snatch everyone’s attention. “Finish pairing off because we’re breaking into teams for Capture the Flag. Lady Death is watching and will be determining from your performance whether or not she made the right decision in admitting you to our esteemed academy, so take this seriously. Our blue team will be over here,” he gestured to Audriella and Lilibell, “and will consist of Valentina, Quinn, Kane, Alice and Marcus. Meisters, bring your weapon partners with you.” The only reason he knew names was because he was reading off a list of names.

Ksenia took the list from Xavian and continued where he left off. “Our red team will have those that remain. Kyleigha, Kathrine, Erik, Viola and Arma, you’re with me. Bring your weapon partners with you.” The russian weapon gathered her group around Carlin who was their sixth member.

While giving all the students a free minute or two to finish up what they had been doing, Xavian walked over to a locked cabinet in the corner and opened it up to pull out two flags - one red and one blue - before resealing it. He brought one to Ksenia and then kept the other as he waited near the twins for the rest of his group to form.

“Rules are simple. Grab the opposing team’s flag and get it all the way to your team’s side of the gym. We will start on opposite ends. Deadly force is not acceptable. CJ, Ksenia and I will referee as needed to enforce that. Also, flags must remain intact. If you destroy a flag, then whatever team you are on will automatically lose.” Briefly, he glanced at CJ and Ksenia to see if he was forgetting anything obvious that he ought to bring up.

“Sounds simple enough. Keep in mind, we’re watching, too, and your demonstrations in this game will help guide what your lessons will involve going forward, if Lady Death decides to keep you enrolled. Each team, take five minutes now to strategize and then we will begin.”

Capture the Flag will begin promptly on 05/18/2020 at 1400 Central Standard Time (approximately 24 hours after this post is posted). Until then, feel free to finish introductions with your partners if you haven’t already, get into your teams and start forming strategies as you please or getting to know your teammates.

“Better late than never.”
Milo Ismael
"Do you always listen to what people say?"
Milo started "Well I certainly try to-" but was cut short.

"Your elder isn't here, you don't have to listen to their advice. You can choose whoever you want as long as its not me, but you're willing to take advice then here is one for you. If someone is obviously giving you hints that they don't like you then don't bother. I don't like you. You're annoying. You also don't get to decide how barbaric someone is. You have no clue who they are and what they have been through. You claim you have read me, I find it's impolite. Stay away from my soul and don't read me again or next time I will beat you to a bloody pulp with no hesitation."

Milo was aghast. Not at threat, no. Living your entire life under the constant threat of being killed really took all the excitement out of being threatened with violence or murder. Once again he really should explain his problem with never being able to turn his soul perception off, apparently people here really thought that sort of thing was intimately private. He wasn't used to that. No, what really got him was how easily she could presume to know every aspect of his character when she'd given him no more than two words in response before this. He'd be offended if he didn't have to admit that, well, that's what he was doing too. At least he based it off her soul! Oh, but that was culturally impolite here. Elder Percival, I really wish you would've warned me of the intricacies of conversation among the common folk.

"I'm pretty sure we have nothing in common. There is your answer. With all your wisdom, I'm sure you can get the memo now that it's confirmed. I hope you are willing to respect one's wishes and leave me the hell alone."

She didn't offer him a chance to reply, but he didn't quite have anything to reply either which way. He only watched as she walked away and leaned against another wall. Her chest heaved, she was taking heavy breaths. It reminded Milo to monitor his own mindset, and found that he'd unwittingly also gotten tense. One breath in, one breath out, gone. His small perpetual smile returned to his lips, and he was at ease. He had to respect that she took the time to collect herself. It was the very basis of his own belief, words shouldn't be traded in anger. Perhaps he'd broken that, to some degree. "Shameful."

Around him he noticed that most people had already found their cliques, and for a moment he felt sad that he'd been engaging in this foolish endeavor instead of trying to make friends. He was curious to try and approach the clean looking fellow with the impressive purple soul, but as soon as the thought hit him something hurt in his gut. He looked back towards the girl, still leaned against the wall. She too, was alone in this scenario. Milo felt really bad about getting on with her so poorly, and just letting it go with no further mention. It'd already been a minute or so. Gosh, he really couldn't just let it go, could he? Forgive and stay at ease was a core tenant, but so was solving conflict. He could use his wavelength to his advantage, maybe? He'd just have to concentrate on it.

In the face of absolute danger and in spite of better judgment, he walked up to her once more. Do I keep smiling? No that would seem disingenuous or something. Milo did his best to keep a straight face as he stopped a good ten feet away from her. For a moment he hesitated on what to say, but then settled. "I apologize." Whilst standing there, he did his best to reach out with his wavelength, to soothe her mind and remove some of that anger that he unwittingly imparted on her. "That's all." He once more turned to leave. This capture the flag game was coming up, and if she didn't want to be his meister, then he was going to have to hope someone else came along and took him in.

“Seriously!? That’s it!? All that big talk and you’re a ring!? Not even any spikes… not even weighted in any manner… you’re a fuckin’ ring!?”

From within the crimson red portion of the ring, Kasper's face could be seen reflected across its entirety, a dark yet mischievious grin visible as he held back the laughter that was surging forth from within himself. Kye's reaction had been priceless, it had been perfect. The disappointment that she could not hide was visible to him and a moment he wouldn't soon forget. Had he been a camera then that face she had made would have been saved for all eternity. A priceless heirloom honoring their first time being partners. Alas, he was a ring. A simple ring wrapped tightly around her finger. Of course he wasn't.

"Thats right" lied Kasper from within the soul space he now inhabited, the dark smile still occupying his face as he revelled in this moment. There was still time before this game of capture the flag began and Kasper planned to milk this moment for as long as he could, to squeeze ever last ounce of joy that he could attain from playing around with Kyleigha's emotions. "Any regrets?" he asked, his tone snake like and taunting. The question was rhetorical, a mere jab meant to 'poke' Kye over the line as he feigned ignorance as to what troubled her. Of course he knew the answer, it was to be expected. It was the same reaction he had received the first time he had transformed; the shocked expression turning into one of anger all too familiar to him yet watching it occur once more was just as funny as it had been the first time and he would have let that moment last longer had it not been for Koira's transformation. This game was no longer fun.

Mid stifling of his almost uncontrollable urge to burst out laughing, Kasper had noticed Kye's eyes fixed in the direction of where Alice and Koira stood, remnants of an icy blue fire dissipating as they revealed Koira's form in all her glory. Held firmly in Alice's hands was a dark obsidian coloured shaft adorned with violet coloured gemstones emblazoned near the tip and whilst that alone was enough to draw the eye, it was the blade itself that had perfected her allure. A dazzling almost transparent blade had completed her weapon form, its clean yet sharp edges given life by the faint shimmering of colors that mimicked the soul hidden within. Truly her weapon form embodied natures rule of 'The more beautiful something iss, the more deadly it is' and no doubt Koira had appeared to be quite deadly.

The smirk that had been on Kasper's face quickly vanished, replaced with one that hinted towards irritation. Now this was just rude. Not only had he been out done by Koira, but even Kyleigha seemed to fawn over her. That extended gaze that lasted far longer then it needed to did not go unnoticed. It didn't take a genius to know that Kyleigha had become enamoured with Koira's form, that glimmer of envy that sparkled from within her eyes obvious to those that had been playing close attention to her; which Kasper had been. Was Koira's timing coincidental or had she planned it right after Kye had mentioned the legendary scythe 'Soul'. Whatever it was, Kasper did not like the fact that Kyleigha seemed more impressed with Koira and Alice than she did with him. Nah, this was not acceptable, not acceptable at all. Despite only just becoming partners, Kasper perhaps as a by-product of being a weapon, wanted Kyleigha's eyes to only be on him, not on any other weapon, regardless of how closely they resembled the famed Scythe of legend. Kasper's pride was on the line now.

'Explain yourself!'

Kye's voice echoed through the soul link that they shared, her emotions echoing all around the space that Kasper presently inhabited. By now he had been removed from her finger and was instead held in her hand, Kasper's now irritated face just above visible through the red portion of the ring if she had looked close enough. Kasper didn't exactly feel like responding at this moment, an unfamiliar feeling within him making him hesitant to even address Kye after all of this. Her little show of envy towards Alice and Koira was a double blow for him. Not only did she show envy towards Koira's form, but she had shown envy towards the partner of Alice, the meister that Kasper had just butted heads with. It was as if she had conceded Kaspers defeat for him and gifted them the win, the last laugh, the final triumph. How could she...

"Do you honestly believe that I am only just a ring?" he replied through their link, his tone low as he folded his arms and glanced away from Kye. His pride was hurt and given the fact that only they shared this moment, he had no need to concern himself with everyone else knowing about it. "You've peered into my soul at least once already, I thought you would have known that there was more than meets the eye, more to discover outside of what the surface betrays" Kasper kept his gaze away from Kye, unable to make eye contact with her right now. It had been hard enough accepting the fact that he would need to find a new Meister, the daunting realisation that someone, someone he had only just met would become the one to wield him, to replace her. It was a dilemna that he had struggled with to this very day and now just after accepting and embracing the reality of it all, the one with whom he had chosen to take a leap of faith with, his partner had seemed more impressed by someone else. Kasper could not help but feel betrayed.

Alone within his soul space, Kasper's face loomed, barely visible to anyone capable of peering into here. All around him was nothing but darkness, his face lit up by the spotlight shining down upon him whilst the lower half of his body remained obscured by shadow, though no sign of a ceiling could be seen. "Do you regret making me your partner?" he asked, though this time he was serious, unlike before. He needed to know the answer before it became too late, he needed to know if this partnership was going to succeed and it all boiled down to what she had to say.

"I may be many things Kye, but I am not someone who would take advantage of your resolve and then spit on it." he began, voice still soft spoken. "I am not someone who would have agreed to this partnership if I didn't think we could become number one and achieve this legacy you had mentioned" he paused as he now looked in her direction "However, I am someone who thought that my new Meister would have had a little faith in me" forget all the facade and masks he had displayed thus far, this was Kasper being genuine. This was Kasper trying to be a decent human being. There was no need for the antics and the shenanigans in here. There was no need to be an asshole in front of everyone. In this space, it was only him and his Meister.

"Would you have even considered me if you knew what my form was? Would you rather Koira was your weapon?" he asked finally.

Cadence Harper &
Quinn Aquila
Quinn dragged his fingers through his hair and then folded his arms, each with its sleeve reaching far beyond his fingers. He’d been more or less drifting in and out of attention span as the myriad of students that surrounded them screeched like cicadas. Through the social white noise the voice of a teacher finally cut through, and he looked over to Cadence. “Hey I guess it’s time to look alive, get in line!” He began, and started walking over to where the weapons were lining up, but it didn’t take much more than a minute for people to start allying amongst themselves anyway. Eventually the teachers cut through the sound once again, now with telling everyone to actually pair up. Quinn raised an eyebrow in surprise, but shrugged at it. “Oh well I guess we can just pair up then.” He mentioned to Cadence. “A little schizophrenic.” He muttered under his breath, then turned to her.

“So…” He reached out a hand. “Would you care to show me that transformation? The mental image I have is a little blurry, heh.” He scratched the back of his head with his other arm and offered an apologetic smile.

“Oh, yeah. Of course!”

A nervous nod - a bit of a posture dip - and a smile. She forced herself to meet his eyes for a brief moment. His soul felt familiar, too; something she was comfortable with. It was a reasonable choice. She grabbed Quinn’s outstretched hand, then reached up, snatching his other hand in her own. A deep breath in -

And before he could blink, two pairs of shining, silver brass knuckles adorned his hands. They were more like rings, tethered together with thick lines of wire, which wound into the body of the knuckles themselves. The front of the rings were spiked - sharp to the touch - and provided an exit point for those coils of wire. The pairs of knuckles, too, were tethered together with a reasonable length of barbed wire routed through a thick bar connecting his middle three fingers on their underside.

She focused her mind on keeping the points marginally dulled.
You think you can work with this?

Quinn almost jumped when she transformed onto his fists. “Whoa! That’s freaking cool!” He exclaimed and turned his hands to look at the rings. Across his index, middle and ring finger it was like a set of brass knuckles with a palm guard and everything, but his pinkie was only adorned by a ring, connected to the rest by a length of barbed wire that seemed to extend and collapse as he opened and closed his fist. Between the palm guards on each of his hands there was a thicker length of barbed wire.

Yeah, I think I can work with this. He communed with her through his wavelength. Extending his arms he noted that the central barbed wire also extended or collapsed as he moved. Haha, it’s like a jump rope! He mentioned, do you control whether the wire extends or like, gets locked in place so I can get it taut?

Yeah. The wire caught as he pulled his arms apart, sharply tugging on his hands, she pulled it back in a few inches before loosing the wire again. Takes some focus, but it’s not hard. Not hard with someone like you, anyways. The boy was given a loose impression of a laugh. One of my little brothers tried to help me practice once. It was a disaster - he’s got a scar and everything.

I’m not sure if I’d try to jump it, personally.

I’m not too worried about scars. Not that he was overly confident about being able to control her well or anything, he just wasn’t particularly worried about getting hurt what-so-ever. In fact, sometimes it could even be considered just as fun as hurting others! Being able to read each other’s thoughts and all that are probably going to come in handy then, haha! Otherwise we’d probably be pretty slow to get the effects we wanted. Give me some slack!

He extended his arms and threw the heavy barbed wire over his head to slam into his back. Even through his jacket he felt a couple of barbs prick his skin, but he didn’t even mention it. Instead he held his fists up and attempted a swift punch. Some of these barbs are scratching up my back, can’t you do something about that? I mean, only some of them are… This way I can fight without a bunch of wire in the way!

Yeah, yeah, give me a second…. The wire about his back seems to warp, and the barbs dull, sitting - if not comfortably - harmlessly against his sweater. Be careful with that. I don’t want you to snap my spine or something. His mock punches were fluid, but not especially powerful; Cadence supposed they didn’t need to be when you had cutting power.

Watch this.

A noise rattled from the ring on his right index finger; the spike on the end of it sailed forward about four feet in the air, and she reflexively stopped its momentum. It hung for a second; the point she’d been aiming for clearly highlighted, before beginning to drop towards the ground. The girl pulled again, and the ‘arrowhead’ slammed back into its place on the knuckle, with a sound not unlike a released tape measure. That’s harder than the punching, she mentioned, but it’s not super difficult. Can you try? If meisters can do that, I mean. I don’t know a whole lot about being a meister.

Quinn got really excited when he saw the arrowhead shoot out like a tether from the Just Cause games. Holy shit! Yeah let me… Quinn took a stance and shot out with his fists before freezing in place and realizing how dumb he must look. Uh… No… I can’t control your body for you. Maybe we can set up like a… system for physical or wavelength inputs for you to recognize. Hold on though. He threw the wire from his back over his head once more, and let it hang as he removed the left knuckle and ring to put it over the second knuckle and ring on his right hand. Utterly pointless to hold it like this if you were going to punch someone, but…

Quinn worked his fingers in between each of the rings, not very careful not to cut himself, and pulled. The result was each finger wrapped in a pair of barbed wires being pulled out from the rings. Whoa. This… could make like a proper spiderweb of wire. With enough planning… Quinn smiled maliciously. This is great.

Thought so. Wanted to make sure. Oh, we’re moving.
It took her a moment to get adjusted to the new position. The moment of contemplation was obvious; she slacked the wire, letting it hang around his fingers, tangling like a loosely-held necklace. I’m sure we’ll figure it out. I can only imagine it’ll be bloody. A shiver ran down her spine. Something - she wasn’t sure what - made her feel like Quinn was perhaps a bit too enthusiastic about the idea of carnage. Why did she feel wet? Oh god. Quinn, your um, your hands?

Yep, what about them?
Quinn looked down at his hands. Oh. First attempt is first attempt after all. Quinn had managed to catch himself on the barbs a lot more times than he thought, apparently, as several thin cuts pumped out blood at a humble rate. Well I’m thinking you’re going to have to get used to that. I’m good though. He said, and dropped the tangle of barbed wire. Check this out. He said, and moved his right arm in a circular pattern until all the wire was coiled up into a thick mess, then took a step forward and whipped it into the ground. The barbs tore at the floor and left plenty of scratches. That would hurt anyone.

Shit. I never thought about that.
She sounded almost impressed, in a way, or awed. We’re going to have to get untangled eventually. Fuck, this is going to be a nightmare. Quinn scratched his chin. You haven’t just tried to, I don’t know, revert?

He was met only with stubborn silence. Hey, I don’t know, wouldn’t that work?

I hope so.

Oh, well if you’re going to be like that…
Quinn let the rings slide off of his hand. “Figure it out yourself.” Cadence, indignant, sat once again whole on the ground. She scowled. “Don’t be a dick. I was worried.” She pushed herself to her feet, took a few steps toward the teacher, and glanced back at him. “I guess it’s time to capture the flag.”

“I’ve never heard of a weapon that got permanently disfigured from transforming! Oh whatever, at least that’s a good way to ensure WE won’t get entangled.” Quinn’s bleeding hands went back into his pocket and produced a length of bandage that he started wrapping himself in. Good thing I came prepared.

CJ had called for a line up to pair up with their appropriate partners. Valentina needed a quick breather before she could line up with the others. It was madness. Chaos with no order from the teachers. Is this really what she wanted to get into? "Father, is this how gour class was? Is this normal or have I entered a circus?" She pondered. There was no time to reconsider, but the doubt lingers in her mind.

For the umpteenth time, Milo approached Valentina and as always, rolled her eyes and lets out a groan of annoyance. His presentation, however is different. There wasn't that spark she witnessed moments ago. Had he gotten the memo? His calming voice started with an apology. An unexpected take from the male. He had given up and at the same time, the platinum blonde felt calm for some strange reason. Perhaps being shocked is the cause. It was unforseen. No words escaped from monk's lips. He turned away and didn't even bother looking back.

The tranquil sensation vanished along with him. It dawned on her, he has a gentle wavelength. She had to make certain. She shut her eyes for a moment, meditating deep within her soul and letting loose. She can read his soul. Warm with an impressive soul radiating brilliantly. How can someone like Milo be capable of such a thing?

Val, pries her eyes open, locking onto his back. Scanning the area, there was no one else available. Not even Elyn. He had paired with the adorable cat girl. She wondered what her father would think. The examples he has bequeathed onto her. It was time, this is the moment tested upon her. The vow she made. Swallowing her pride for her new leaf, she calls out to Milo, "Wait!" She walks up to him and sighs. "Everyone is taken it seems. You won't have much luck finding a partner. It seems you and I were left behind by fate. Valentina rubs her nape as the other hand leans on her hip. "I appreciate your apology and we got off on the wrong foot. I can give you chance to prove yourself until after the game if I decide to keep you, though it seems unlikely given how you're stuck with me for a year, should you accept?

Elyn Layne

"Nyan, nyan! Did you see that! Did ya, did ya?" Elyn opened his eyes in surprise, laying his hand up on her shoulder. "No, I'm afraid I didn't. I apologize." His face begins to flush a little, and his lips part in a small smile. His soul has already begun to start to shift in order to become more compatible, as it has many times before. But this time it does so with nary a thought. It burns brightly, and lightly, the swirling and condensing, becoming sunlike. "It appears you were right, and for that I am glad." He gently lay his other hand upon her shoulder. "And I don't think they were referring you, but I don't particularly care. And frankly neither should you." This was it. He had a real partner, who wanted him. Not just the person who drew the short straw this week. No smoldering egotist, no bullies. Now all he had to do was make it work. She was green. Really green. Granted everyone here was green. Technically he was green. But he'd seen things. He'd done things. And he'd lost things. The smile on his face seemed to become less sincere. He wasn't going to lose this.

He continues to smile for a few seconds before his expression becomes more serious.
"We don't have a whole lot of time. But before we do this, I have a promise to make. I am a shield. Shields are meant to protect. Yourself, others, ideas and ideals. Principles, and friends. You can't really do that from safety. We might get into scary situations. I have a feeling there's some stuff they aren't telling us yet." He looks up at the new observers, before looking into her eyes. His soul begins to blaze a little out of sync, as his tone becomes filled with weight unbecoming of his age or stature. "But I need you to believe in me. Listen when I speak. I know that's hard. I'm not much to look at. But I can take a beating. Imagine me as just the shield if you have to. It's helped people in the past. But I promise you, no matter what, whatever it is, I will get you out. I will never, ever give up on you. That is my duty as a weapon, and as a shield. Alright Kathrine?" He looks up over her shoulder, towards the unfortunate soul who paired herself with the arse from earlier, before looking up at Kat, almost pleadingly. "A weapon is prepared to die for their meister. I've never lost a meister, and I never will. Not while I breathe. This I swear."

Kyleigha Ford & Kasper Strauss

[Location: Gym] [ Mentions: Carlin Astralworks Astralworks Alice Britt-21 Britt-21 Koira Kyuubey Kyuubey Everyone on the red team ] [Interactions: Kyleigha Lady Warlock Lady Warlock ]

Frustration boiled in Kyleigha’s soul as the full weight of the situation settled upon her while Kasper’s replies to her attempts at gaining further explanation from him only nudged her closer and closer to the insanity of her own rage. The turmoil of emotions she’d somehow managed to achieve was probably the closest she’d ever get to actually being accused of witchcraft.

Though she ignored his first question, his second one hit her like a slap in the face. "Do you honestly believe that I am only just a ring?" Her eyes narrowed and her entire body froze which only forced her to endure the agony of the rest of what he had to say. Not only had he taunted her in the beginning of it all, but now he was openly admitting that he wasn’t telling her the whole truth in showing her his form. It only got worse when he continued to hide whatever it was he was hiding. It only made the waves of fire roiling through her storm grow higher and higher as though they’d crash into his soul dimension without a moment’s warning.

However, the sense of threat behind those waves quickly faded when Kyleigha realized something new. He’d continued speaking and although she wanted to be mad at him still, she sensed something that hadn’t been there before. Actually, she wasn’t sure if it had been present in any of their conversations at all until that moment. There was some sincerity.

Something else really grabbed her, too. He mentioned the legacy she’d commented on. Kasper had actually been listening to her - something Kyleigha hadn’t even dared to hope for even before she realized and was entirely consumed by frustration with his weapon form.

At the very least, this conversation needed to be honest. Honesty required at least a small amount of serenity. Kye stopped herself from screaming anything else that she desperately wanted to scream to the skies, and instead allowed herself to sink into a state of meditation once more. Soul perception replaced her vision, a vision she left open for Kasper to see into if he wanted to, and she truly took a look at the souls of Koira and Alice. They blended well together; Kyleigha couldn’t deny them that single compliment and she wouldn’t stop the thought from slipping into her link with Kasper, either. However, the more she inspected the soul of specifically Koira, the more she saw that there was nothing to it that particularly caught her interest. She wasn’t a weapon for Kyleigha.

‘Though I could, without a doubt, wield a weapon such as Koira, I would get bored with it really quickly. Her soul has no allure to it; at least, not for me.’ Kyleigha imagined Alice saw something, but two different pairs of eyes would always see very different things. She took another deep breath. ‘You are my weapon partner, Kasper. I realized our souls matched and after that it didn’t matter what your weapon form was. I could’ve chosen anyone else, sure, but then I would’ve spent a long time wondering what would’ve come of choosing you instead because I would’ve known our souls would match better. And all that time wondering would’ve taken away from any potential I had with whatever other partner I chose. I don’t want Koira as my weapon. I wish you had a more weaponizable weapon form.’ There was a difference between those two desires in her mind.

‘You say that you believe we can be the best, yet you smirked and laughed at my reaction to your weapon form. You do realize those two things are entirely contradictory, right? How can I trust you when you say two different things? How can I have faith when you seem to hide so much?’

Through their shared link, Kasper could begin to feel the changes occurring in Kyleigha's soul, a hidden anger growing within her the longer he continued to speak. It was as if she was fire personified and Kasper's words were nothing more than fuel to enhance its ferocity. An unstoppable rage that seemed to consume everything and anything thrown at it. Like a bomb ready to explode, Kasper could tell that the longer this continued, the more likely it was that this relationship would implode upon itself; self-destruct. The cracking glass like patterns that began to appear across his Soul space from the sheer pressure of Kye's rage was evidence of that.

He had poked, he had prodded and now he was paying the price for it, the space he inhabited beginning to look like it would crumble. Unable to withstand the pressure radiating off of Kye's own soul, Kasper could do nothing but merely watch from his spot as fragments of glass began to rain down from above him. Like a defenceless child, Kasper could only raise both arms to cover his face from the shards threatening to stab him, a defence so pointless yet so reflective of the position he found himself in. He was vulnerable. From deep within the darkness that enveloped this space, the sound of glass smashing began to grow in crescendo, the steadily growing orchestra of chaos beginning to deafen the boy trapped within.

Then it stopped.

The overwhelming pressure had disappeared and the concerto of glass breaking had dimmed into dead silence. The fire of rage that threatened to destroy the space that Kasper inhabited could no longer be sensed, its monstrous overpowering presence devoured by tranquility. Peace had seemingly returned to the space around him, any sign of the threat that had been so close to devouring him no longer present. Instead there was a new light, one almost blinding at first as Kasper struggled to look in its direction.

Lowering his arms, Kasper peered closer into the light, his vision steadily adjusting to its intensity as he peered deeper and deeper, vague images beginning to reveal themselves to him as he sunk further into its warm embrace. A sound of a single droplet disturbing the serene surface of water echoed all around him and the light quickly gave way to Kye's soul perception.

Standing in front of him was Alice and Koira, their bodies appearing in shadow as the light of their souls glowed from within their silhouettes almost threatening to blind him as their unison showed no flaws; a statement seemingly shared by Kye as Kasper could sense her emotions all around him. Kasper wanted to tear his gaze away from them, to look anywhere else but at the sight of a perfect combination of weapon and Meister. He didn't need to see this right now, he didn't need to have his face rubbed in their perfect unison. Though Kasper could do nothing to change this, he had no influence on what was broadcasted to him. He was merely along for the ride as he remained encased within Kye's soul perception.

Now Kasper felt like lashing out, to show his frustration at being forced to witness all of this, to question why she felt the need to rub his failure to impress her right in his face, though that momentary spurt of anger was quelled when Kye's voice echoed all around him. Like a child silenced before getting the chance to throw a tantrum, Kasper could only unfurl his clenched fist and listen, his expression becoming placid showing neither excitement or anger but rather acceptance of what she had said. How could he not accept the truth that she was saying? Their souls were so close to one another now that he could feel every beat of her heart, every pulse of her soul and he could tell that she was being genuine when she spoke about Koira; a faint smile appearing on Kasper's face, though he quickly hid it.

When it was her turn to ask the questions, Kasper remained quiet. She was right. Kasper had been at fault for their relationship starting out on rocky terms, his inability to just be genuine and honest from the beginning being the source of their current predicament. Though it was also true that that was just a natural part of who he was, it was just the way that the world he had lived in had shaped him up to be. The experiences gained from the cruel reality of the world hidden away behind the glow of the Golden era were the building blocks that had made him who he was. That wasn’t about to change. Kasper's insincerity and lack of ability to just be a nice guy was a product of years spent embracing Anarchy, both its good and bad side. It was a defence meant to protect him from being hurt, to protect him from having his trust shattered and to protect him from the opportunity to experience heartache once more. Yet now it was this self defence, the wall he had built around his soul in order to protect it that had been the cause for the pain he felt; that moment where he feared that his Meister would reject him had been like a dagger straight through the heart; a twist given for critical damage when Koira's form was first revealed and Kye's reaction had been envy.

Kasper soon found himself on his knees, his right hand placed across his chest and over his heart, his head hung low as he avoided the gaze of Kye. He didn't want her to see him in such a state, to be exposed for the insecure person that he really was behind the mask of his histrionics. Yet he had nowhere to run, no mask to hide behind and no wall to encase himself in. This was the reality of a soul connection, a place where only the truth of everything could be revealed and if that were the case, then he had no reason to doubt Kye's genuine reaffirmation that she had indeed chosen him.

Raising his head slightly so that their gazes met, Kasper began to rise to his feet once more as he brushed himself off, wiping off anything that may have been on his face as he did so. A new strength had just been born within the recesses of his soul, a small yet gradually growing confidence that had been the result of hearing Kye’s genuine reply and acceptance of making her resolve his own as well. At present it was a small light amidst the sea of darkness that Kasper still held within himself.

"Put me on. I’ll prove to you that you didn’t make the wrong decision."

For what felt like the longest time ever, there was nothing but silence within the space their souls now shared and the more time that Kyleigha spent allowing that silence, the more terrified she became. Her soul perception, though she hadn’t focused it on everyone, had allowed her to notice that there were very few individuals who remained without a partner, and that those few individuals would not exactly be easy ones to work with, either. This was her one chance at having a partnership that worked, and there was a subtle fear that they’d already blown away any chance that they had of making it work. Something else within her soul perception encouraged her to allow the silence, though, and her gaze turned inward wishing that soul perception was more like reading minds than it actually was. Yes, she had been able to learn a fair amount from reading Kasper’s soul when she first met him, but as sincerity started to replace some of the sarcasm she was more familiar with, it became even more confusing to try and figure out what was behind it all.

Nonetheless, their rhythms remained intact and in sync.

Then he asked her to put his ring form back on and her first instinct was to want to ask a million more questions and they all raced through her mind although she kept them from flowing into the link. It was actually a difficult thing to do - maintaining separation between her own thoughts and the soul space that they shared. Kyleigha found that to be weird.

Her hands deftly slid the ring back onto one of her fingers, feeling herself sighing slightly as she hoped that things could work out. ‘Alright, Kasper. What would you like to show me?’
Inhaling deeply, Kasper took a step forward and began to channel his own soul the moment he had been placed upon Kye's finger, the crimson band on the ring form shimmering against the gym's light as his soul began to pour through. Despite being encased within his Soul space, It would have felt like Kasper had suddenly stood behind Kye, a ghost-like presence unseen to everyone else in the gym, yet just as animated as they were. With both arms reaching around from either side of Kye almost as if he was embracing her, she would soon begin to feel her hand rising. These two ethereal hands of Kasper guiding it towards an outstretched position in front of her, the fingers on one hand interlocking in between her own as he shaped them into the form of a gun, pointing towards an exposed wall

There was a warmth radiating off of this ethereal presence that seemed to envelop Kye as Kasper continued to guide her, a trickle perhaps felt upon her neck as he exhaled, his spectral face placed upon her right shoulder as he eyed an exposed spot on the wall. "A ring is only one part of what I am, a small aspect of what my weapon form truly is" began Kasper, whispering into her ear as he adjusted the position of her hand slightly, ".. a faux disguise meant to deceive, meant to surprise and meant to capitalise on those ensnared within the pitfall of being unprepared. Who would fear the ring?" he continued, both hands now cupping the gun shaped figure of Kye's own.

"You heard the gunfire earlier didn't you?, Did you see the smoke trailing off of my finger?" he inquired, as he continued to tickle her hand in a repetitive circular motion. "Focus your soul onto the tip of your finger, feel its energy being compressed upon a singular point as if you were trying to squeeze as much of it as possible into the smallest of places. The thicker and more overwhelming this feeling is, the stronger the bullet will be. Unlike most weapons, my strength relies heavily upon that of my Meister, how strong their soul is and how capable they are at controlling that soul. The more efficient your control is, the more precise my shots are. I am a medium that reflects and enhances my own Meisters abilities” Kasper took a breath. “I am a Demon Gun, a weapon designed to pierce through the hearts of our foes, a tool designed to assassinate. No weapon in modern history has been more feared than the gun."

Not really desiring Lady Death’s ire at having another wall damaged,Kasper began to unfurl Kye’s hand, positioning her index finger so that it appeared like she was holding a gun trigger, the same ominous red glow that had earlier engulfed him appearing once more as the ring that had been wrapped tightly around her finger began to grow once more; a large obsidian colored pistol appearing in her hand, her index finger now placed firmly upon his trigger. “This is my true form”he whispered once more, his breath washing over her as his ethereal face remained upon her right shoulder. “In this state, my ability to enhance your soul is twice that of the ring.”

The whole process made her feel kinda like a puppet and Kyleigha could not deny that she had a disdain for feeling as though she was being controlled. However, she promptly realized that that was probably what it was like being a weapon. Weapons were always being controlled when they were in their weapon form - guided and moved around by meisters without really having much say in the matter at all. Suddenly, she realized she was very glad to not be in Kasper’s position and a sense of warmth towards him growed ever so slightly in her soul. He was tolerating something she knew she never could.

At one point, she’d been about to say something along the lines of, ‘I think I’d prefer if you were just a gun.’ Just as the thought to speak those words occurred to her, though, his form was changing in her hands once again and suddenly Kyleigha found herself to be absolutely dumbstruck by what she was holding. Wisps of her soul, little wavelengths that hummed the same melody Kasper’s own soul did too, seemed to wrap around him in an ethereal embrace, an eternal apology for ever doubting him in the first place.

‘I’m sorry for doubting you, Kasper,’ sincerity seeped into every word she projected. ‘You should probably be a ring for now. As you mentioned earlier,’ she referenced when he’d been speaking to Elyn, ‘giving the enemy too much knowledge is terrible for strategy and this is a game I’m hoping to win.’ Kyleigha also didn’t imagine they’d need the power they could achieve from his pistol when it truly was just a game. That was more for when lives were on the line.

Kasper smiled as he felt the sense of warmth emanate off of Kye, trickles of her wavelength brushing against his own in their own little private tango, the duo of souls dancing amidst the silence of their own acceptance of one another, their partnership sealed.

"Look Kye, I'm not gonna lie and promise you that I will be the perfect representation of what a partner should be, nor am I going to promise that my antics will not cause you any ire in the future. I cannot be like Soul Evans, the legendary Scythe.. I am who I am and what I am is someone that is not perfect" replied Kasper, accepting her sincere apology as he changed back into his ring form, agreeing with her sentiment. "What I will promise you, is that despite my flaws. I have come into this relationship with the sole intention of reaching the top of the academy with you. Like you have with your goal, I too have something that I must attain at any cost and that is only possible by reaching the summit of what this academy has to offer"

‘I can work with that. I can work with this.’ Kyleigha wasn’t going to deny that she still wanted a weapon who would give their life for her and she wanted to feel that she could do the same for her weapon - something that still wasn’t quite there - but she also realized that this was school and they were playing Capture the Flag. That level of intensity certainly wasn’t required or expected of anyone just yet.

Though they’d been locked in a conversation only they were privy to, Kyleigha was also aware of things going on beyond them. She heard the teacher announce that Capture the Flag would be starting soon and she heard the rules that Xavian gave. She noted the team she’d be on, though she honestly didn’t recognize many of the other names he had listed off as being on their team. Her attention shifted back to the world around them and she glanced to where their team was supposed to be forming. The only one who’d actually gathered there so far, though, was the one who had been there in the first place.

‘Got any thoughts on strategy?’ she decided to ask of her partner, curious as to how he would approach things. Normally, Kyleigha liked to try to power through things in her own way, using her soul wavelength and small doses of quickness here and there, but she had a weapon partner now and his form and function both heavily expanded on what she was used to being capable of offering in a fight.

“Without knowing what the rest of our team’s abilities are, I cannot say for sure.” replied Kasper, “However, now that we have a proper idea of who our allies are, I am not against the idea of discussing just what we are capable of. Of course, I’d rather not reveal more than we need to about ourselves and I’d rather not reveal the ace in the hole behind my true form” he paused, addressing the irony of this statement as he had earlier chastised Elyn about it. “Especially that one over there” Kasper turned to look towards Carlin, one of the shortest students currently in the class and one full of mystery. “I am rather curious to see exactly what he means by claiming to not need a Meister”

As they started discussing strategies in their shared link, Kyleigha started walking towards where she was supposed to be, waving at Carlin before turning to try and figure out who the others on their team were. She was pretty sure Kathrine was the cat girl and that meant they had the shield on their side. Like Kasper, though, she didn’t know much - if anything, really - about anyone else’s abilities. She also didn’t know many names. Kye definitely agreed with Kasper’s curiosities, though. ‘If we can, we should try to learn what everyone else is capable of as the game goes on. It’ll be good to know for later events, I’m sure.’ All that they could really do now, though, was wait for their team to formally gather.

Kye had a feeling there wouldn’t actually be much time left by that point to actually make a plan, which was fine with her. She could work on the fly, especially now that she had a better idea of what was at her own disposal.

Having been meditating on his own soul and extending his wavelength up until now, it was no real surprise that Kane managed to get a ping on a possible compatible weapon partner close to him. Slowly opening his eyes, he took a glance around the gym to see everyone else already starting to get grouped up with their partners and their teams for the game of capture the flag, him being one of the seldom few that hasn't interacted with their chosen weapon or meister yet. Inhaling lightly through his nose, Kane's eyes landed on where the ping resonated from to see the siblings that he had noticed before. Absently, in the back of Kane's head, he noted that they spoke Irish, a commonality with him and his family, though something that he himself didn't do all too often what with his own general lack of extensive speaking. Nevertheless, it would be a common point to connect with the two, at the very least for this team exercise. Taking another breath, Kane closed in on the short distance between the two of them and himself.

As he stopped in front of the two, Kane first made eye contact with the shorter female, and then the taller male. As he was sweeping his gaze from one of them to the other, he spoke, "My name is Kane Doyle. If you are willing to work with me in this exercise, it would be my honor." As he said this Kane bowed towards the two, a near identical bow to the one he had given when he had introduced himself to Koira not too long ago. As he straightened himself out and waited for the response of the two siblings, Kane took the time to properly examine who would be on the opposing team for this game of capture the flag. The first thing that he noted straight away was that he would be facing the girl with the purple soul who had paired up with the young fellow that all but openly declared war on everyone in the gym. As well, he would be facing the girl who had a very strong cat-motif going on that had paired up with the small shield boy, the two abnormally large, in both height and weight, fellows, a hooded girl paired with the gray souled loudmouth that came with his group of students, and the boy with infinite energy paired with the previously looking lazy looking fellow that had since turned himself into a bow to be carried. Blinking once slowly, Kane turned his gaze back to the two siblings and continued waiting for their response, deciding to analyze his own team after he got an answer from the siblings and getting the opportunity to actually communicate with the rest of the people in his designated team.

Xavian Shilder and Ksenia Sobol
Both teachers would have willingly contributed to any strategic discussions the students had decided to engage in if any such thing had existed in the first place. However, much to their dismay, such conversations didn’t actually happen. Instead, it seemed as though most of the meisters were content playing around with their new weapon partners. Normally it would’ve been an acceptable reaction to finding a new partner, but right now they really needed to know if this group of students was capable of fulfilling the tasks they hoped to assign them in the future. So far, Ksenia was definitely doubtful of it based on what she had seen and Xavian’s faith was waning.

Making his way over to the voice box where he could communicate with Lady Death and her entourage of observers, Xavian whispered, “I’m beginning to question the wisdom behind some of our choices in recruits. Teamwork is the most essential here and will continue to be moving forward, but none of them seem to value it in the slightest.” He was sure that Lady Death was seeing the same thing he was, but he still wanted to comment on it. Xavian quickly returned to his team, though. Well, what was present of it anyway. Most of the students hadn’t actually congregated like they’d been asked to.

“Strategy time’s over!” his voice boomed. “Protect your flag. Steal your opponent’s flag. Don’t destroy either flag. No attacks meant to kill.” He reviewed the rules again briefly before holding the blue flag towards Quinn and Cadence as they were a pair on his team that seemed ready to go.

“Game starts on the count of three,” Ksenia added as she held out the red team’s flag to Carlin or Kyleigha to grab.

“One.”

“Two.”

“Three.”

When Kyleigha didn’t grab the flag that was held out, Ksenia more or less draped it on Carlin since he was the only one left to hand it to who had actually gathered near where the group was supposed to meet,

Please keep in mind that this game of Capture the Flag will be heavily moderated for god-modding. Please discuss any 1x1 fights you engage in with the other player and play them out in a manner you both agree upon. Collaborative posts are encouraged.

DWMA Gymnasium-CTF Underway1589824127297.pngA grin formed on Marcus's face as he heard Bill's comment on the two of them joining. Ideally Marcus wouldn't really have a problem tag up with the big guy, however he would have to watch his food around him. Can't have him eating his ice cream all the damn time. Though if Marcus was to seriously evaluate their compatibility, it wasn't quite good enough to compqare to another obvious choice. Marcus's eyes glances over towards Erik as he sized the brutish meister up and down. There was a clear sign that a meister like that definitely needs a oversized or very blunt weapon just to go along with his build. Marcus didn't have to compare Bill's and Erik's souls to understand that they were already a compatible par. "You're right Bill it would be amazing, but sadly I'm not that compatible with you. Though I'm sure if you look hard you'll find the right person. Now if you'll excuse I'll like to get away from this small dramatic debate nearby and checkout who's pairing up with who." He states before making his way back towards the bleachers.

He sat near the front of the bleachers, leaning back scanning the room. As everyone else was eger to find there partner's in crime, Marcus wasn't that interested in searching for his. He was more into watching everyone par up as he sat back and relaxed. He wanted to see just what of crazy pairs would show up in front of him. So far most of them made sense to him, much like Bill and Erik or Alice and Koire, but others was more unique. Though as more and more pairs formed in front of Marcus, he couldn't help but notice a single soul. The soul of someone who's gonna be his very own partner in crime. With his interest reaching their, a grin formed on his face as his rose from his sit and casually made his way.

1589826597571.pngI need to find the right partner to who's willing to help me obtain my goal. He thought to himself moments after the pairings had started. He made his way around the gym trying to find "The One". The one person who will make him stronger, the one who will turning him into a Death Scythe, the one is strong enough to stand in the number 1 spot beside him. As he walked around the cluster of people within the gym, Silver as yet to feel that weird tingling sensation within his soul. It was moments like these that Silver wishes he could see souls like meisters. That would make this situation so much easier. He stopped in his tracks and just looks around at each meister. There was Erik, who by Silver's standards, seems to be lacking in the brains department. Then there was a girl wearing a hood. At first glance she seemed like the ideal type for Silver's partner, but sadly she was soon matched up with another weapon. He eyes then dawned onto a dark skinned male, with locks and headphones. His very presence was relaxed and chill as he casual walked straight towards Silver. Is he Silver's partner. The closer the meister got, the more Silver felt his soul tingling, or more so reacting towards this meister's soul. "He is the one." Silver said to himself grinning at the thought.

The meister and weapon now stood right in front of each other, one grinning and the other keeping a cool stoic expression. "Yo." The meister said. "The name is Marcus Rung and I'm your meister." He says finally smiling and reaching his hand. Silver quickly grabs it and pulls Marcus in wrapping his arm around his shoulder. "Yes my friend. Indeed you are and together we'll show everyone the stars." He says waving his hand in the air. "Oh by the way, my name is Silver Star Nakatsukasa." He says showing off his star tatto on his neck. "You must be pretty excited to meet yet another descedant of a big star. Us two together fighting side by side, is not low of unstoppable." He says confidently. "Yeah sure we'll go with that for now." Marcus added. "Now I bet you're wondering what kind of weapon I am correct. Well I let you on a little secret, Im actually a multi-form weapon. I can turn into a katana, a sickle and chain, a shuriken, oh and a smoke bomb. How does that sound?" Silver asked with a confident smug on his face as he crossed his arms. Marcus was actually quite impressed. He honestly didn't expect to be partnered up with a weapon like this. "Honestly that sounds legit. I think we're gonna make a great team" He says smiling brightly. As Silver held onto Marcus,Marcus couldn't helpbut feeling the pain widen deep within Silver's soul. Pain that felt very much like his own. He figured that this maybe the reason they were so compatible.

As much as Marcus would like to interact more with more with Silver before the game, it was time to line up. The two of them made their way towards the other members of his team. "Hey Marcus, check it out. it's Lady Death. I can't believe that the rumors were true. She really is smoking hot." Silver says starring quite hard. "You better not let her hear you say that aloud." Marcus said laughing. "Yea yea, I'm not dumb enough to get caught. I am a star by the way." He says showing off his star tatto yet again. "I see this is gonna be like a reoccuring thing." Marcus said unimpressed. "You know what, let's see this katana form of yours." Marcus said stopping in his tracks turning to face Silver. "I see you couldn't wait to witness my awesomeness." He said with a smile as he held his hand out. Marcus simply rolled his eyes as he grabbed Silver's hand. In the next moment, Silver's body started to glow as he transformed into a beautiful black steel katana, with a golden blade guard, and a hilt made with a black, white, and gold pattern. "So what do you think?" Silver asked. Marcus was lost ing thought as he held the blade in his hand. Even though he didn't show it, Marcus was excited. "My assumption was right. We're defintely winning this game today." He says with a grin, walking over towards Alice and the others.

As he approached his team, Marcus rested the katana on his shoulder and kept it out of harms way. He looks at Alice noticing her weilding a scythe. "Now that's badass." He says chestering towards her weapon. "Glad to know you didn't get paired with that Kasper guy." He says with a chuckle. As he scanned his teammates he took quick notice that there was only one other guy on his squad. Not that it mattered. "So before we start does anyone have a plan outside of protecting the flag?" He asked looking around. The teams were giving 5 minutes to strategize, not nearly enough time to come up with something good. One of Marcus's concerns was who exactly was going to deal with the brute that was Erik. Psst, hey Marcus, lets go after the big guy. Wait what? Are you serious. Yes, against two stars like us, we can take em easily. Easy? I doubt that'll be easy, but lets go for it. Yes! You know what they say, the bigger they are the harder they fall. The two spoke to one another telepathically devising their plan. After the five minutes was up, and his teamed agreed upon their plan Marcus looks at them an adds one last thing. "I'll try my best to keep Erik busy. A dude that large teamed up with someone like Bill will definitely cause us some kind of trouble." He states before readying himself. The count down began causing Marcus to discuss with his partner. Let's show em the stars Marcus. I'm still not feeling the catch phrase but let's go. Once the count down was over and the game starts' Marcus was off heading for Erik.

Kathrine "Kat" Lionhardt
full
Kat was getting pumped up and Elyn's speech was only getting her more excited. She held her fists near her chin and nodded enthusiastically. Part of her knew that a Miester's job can lead them into dangerous situations, but right now she didn't care. Her soul was roaring with bravery, and besides, she knew she could get through them with Elyn at her side.

"Of course I'll listen to you, want are partners for? Nyan!" she exclaimed excitedly, pumping a fist. "But you're not just a shield! You're tougher than you look, nyan! But you're also my friend, and as a Miester I hope you can rely on me just as much as I know in my soul that I can rely on you." She held out a pinky finger. "Nyan! And call me Kat," she added cutely with a grin.

“Strategy time’s over!”

"Nya!" Already? Important bonding things were going on, so it didn't feel like five minutes had passed. She gasped Elyn's hand before scurrying over to the red team area. "Sorry everyone....nya-heh-heh...." she laughed apologetically.

"One!...."

Cadence Harper &
Quinn Aquila
Quinn had only barely wrapped his hands up with bandages that were already starting to leak through when he found himself over near the teacher. “Protect your flag. Steal your opponent’s flag. Don’t destroy either flag. No attacks meant to kill.” He heard, and then looked up to see a length of blue cloth being held in his direction. “Oh, wowie! I’m the carrier?” He said and did a pirouette on the spot. “Hey Cadence check it out, we’ll be on the defense!”

WE’LL BE ON THE DEFENSE? WHAT THE FUCK. A voice echoed in Quinn’s head, but through sheer willpower he managed to keep his jolly facial expression.
“Cadence, come over here, I have an idea-”
"Don't lose that flag. We'll have your back," Alice said to him, but Quinn wasn't really listening, he was too busy-

“Game starts on the count of three.”

“Oh. Uh Cadence-”

“One.”

“Cadence get over here, please.”

“Two.”

“CADENCE.”

“Cool it,” she sighed, grabbing the hand not clutching the flag, “I was listening.” Her expression was somewhere between exasperated and plain annoyed as she looked up at him, forming both pairs of knuckles onto one hand-

“Three.”

“Cool instinct but not what I was going for!”
Quinn scolded as he performed a series of backflips to get away from the other’s while scrambling to set the rings over to his other fingers. He had built up quite a lot of momentum when he finally screeched to a halt on one knee and one foot. “Ah, drat.” He growled, and managed to fit the knuckle on the other hand. Then he shot up with his arms, angled slightly backwards behind his head. Hey Cadence, fire away.

Got it. A clicking sound, not unlike a tape measure, and the wire shot from one of his knuckles. His arm was aimed almost at the back window, and Cadence held her figurative breath, feeling the spears embed in the window frame. Great! Now pull me up.

A noise like a tape measure retracting rang through the air, and Quinn felt himself pulled off his feet, at a velocity threatening to send him through the window. He thumped against the glass panes, but they did not break - one could only assume they’d been made for impact - and he hung, knuckle attached to the window frame, for a long second. Slowly, Cadence gave him some slack; just enough for his feet to touch the ledge around the top of the gymnasium.
You okay?

…Yeah. Next time, both hands, I get a running start. Cool. Quinn bitched, as he pushed his elbow against the frame to pull the knuckles out. He dropped off the wall and expertly landed on the railing to the upper mezzanine, where he crouched and held on to it with his hands not to fall off. The flag was wrapped around his upper arm, just inside his jacket. Then he shouted out over the hall.

“Hey everyone! My name is Quinn Aquila! Pleasure competing with you, good luck catching me!” And then he slipped off of the railing onto the platform and observed them to see what would happen next. If I can’t be on the offensive this is going to have to be fun somehow. Y’know, we’re going to have to be a lot more in sync if we’ll ever make this work in the real world.

I’m sure the gym’s open after hours. God knows I have nowhere else to be. Nobody was moving yet. Sorry for, uh, slamming you against the window. At least nothing cracked. She was sure time had started, but hadn’t heard it herself; she supposed she’d been too busy. Had they cheated by moving first? Surely not. Everyone was so spread out anyways…

Yeah no worries. I took a liking to gymnastics a long time ago, I’m used to it. Quinn offhandedly commented. He wasn’t sure who his teammates were, Valentina and Alice were names he recognized, but Marcus and Kane? Uh, you don’t happen to know who Marcus and Kane are, do you?

I think Kane is the one standing with the pair that look like they’re related. Marcus, no clue. I’d watch out for Erik, if I were you. Something tells me he’s not going to back down from the challenge. Quinn’s gaze was serious for the first time since he arrived, but he was too far from anyone for them to see it. Alice was barking orders to the team below. He looked at Erik, who seemed to have gained an equally huge companion now. Let ‘em come. Just be ready with your tethers when they do.

Trip them up? Smart. Looking forward to it.

What? No!

Kyleigha Ford
Apparently strategizing wasn’t going to be a thing because the group didn’t really form before it was declared time for the game to start. The moment it was declared game time, though, Kyleigha started moving. She used the gazes of the teachers and those she already knew to be on her team to figure out who was actually an ally and who was not. Her feet carried her quickly to the first on her team. “Cat!” she called out as she approached the girl who dressed in cat clothes. “Elyn said earlier that he was a shield. Use him well. Defend the weapon boy over there with the flag. No one touches our teammate.”

She was just assigning names to people when she didn’t know their name. Carlin, apparently, was “weapon boy.”

Next was Arma. Kyleigha definitely knew who Arma was. In fact, he’d gone well enough out of his way to make sure no one would ever forget it. When her eyes fell on him, though, she almost had to roll them. He had a bow. He was the most hyperactive knucklehead in their class and he had a freaking bow for a weapon. Kyleigha doubted he knew how to use it in the slightest. Arma also didn’t strike her as the kind of person who had the patience to use a bow the way it was meant to be used when they were in a larger group fight like this. ‘I can’t help but feel like Arma would be more useful to the team if he had a melee weapon in his hands. It seems like giving him a bow would be comparable to giving a chef a kunai knife.’ she commented offhandedly to Kasper. Yes, it could still work, but it wasn’t likely.

“Arma!” she called out to him. “I don’t necessarily know what it is that you do best, but whatever it is, do it now and don’t you dare stop.” He had to be good at something, after all. His confidence didn’t seem like something that would come out of nowhere.

Onto the next one…..

Ah. Hm. The next one was the guy who Kyleigha hadn’t exactly got off on the right foot with during their tour. Would he listen to her? Kyleigha doubted it. Would she try anyway? Hell yeah. She wanted to win this thing. It would be a good way to kick off her legacy. “Muscles!” she called out, giving him a nickname that suited his appearance. “Think you could go on offense? I’ve got you covered with fire from the bleachers.” She didn’t wait to see his response before she promptly made her way to the bleachers, getting as high up as she could to obtain the best possible vantage point.

‘I missed one, but I don’t know who the last one on our team is,’ she remarked. ‘Hopefully they’ll fill in where they’re needed. For now, call ‘em as you see ‘em, Kasper. We’ve got a lot of space to cover and quite a few team members that need to get into position before we can really go on offense.’ It wasn’t hard to tell that offense was where she wanted to be more than anywhere else, but Kyleigha also had a decent head on her shoulders and knew that this was a team game. That was why the teachers suggested strategy in the first place.

While she waited to see if everyone took up reasonable positions, her hand rose as though holding a gun, prepared to unleash soul bolts on anyone who got in the way of her teammates.

Sebastian Yumi and Arma Torrez
d177cbb77d7bcf9ca2e11a810329253e.jpg
The more that Arma tossed him around and continued moving without really having an objective, the more concerned Sebastian became regarding how well his new meister would actually be able to use him. Yes, Arma got really excited about some things and yes, Sebastian’s laziness was definitely balanced out by a lot of that energy, but none of it really mattered if Arma couldn’t bring himself to stop moving long enough to take aim and fire an arrow when they were tangled in a fight. Firing an arrow was something that actually required the user to stop and take aim unless they had a lot of practice. Practicing with a bow required standing in one spot. The question, more and more, became a question of whether or not Arma was capable of that.

‘I know that losing is important and all that, dude, but we’re gonna try to win, right? We have a team depending on us.’

That was the comment Sebastian finally settled upon. They could address the movement problem later. Sebastian imagined he was going to be more of a stick in this fight.

Arma couldn’t help but chuckle at his new partner’s clear hesitation for his attitude on losing. ‘Of course we’re gonna try! It wouldn’t be FUN otherwise. I mean… if the other team’s gonna give it their all, and our team’s gonna give it their all. It would only make sense that we meet ‘em halfway! I just hope they can keep up with me!’ There was a slight air of confidence radiating off of the loudmouth’s soul, something that he didn’t seem to be common for someone of his usually upbeat demeanor.

Souls were Sebastian’s specialty, though. He could feel it, especially while his weapon form was in Arma’s hands. Sebastian couldn’t see souls, but he certainly could do plenty to shape them when the wavelength was fed into his bowstring.

Taking a deep breath, the shorty would put his playing around to an end once the teachers had directed them toward the group. There was a pep in his step as he made his way over to the red team, eager to discuss with his teammates the TOTALLY AWESOME game plan that he had in mind for ABSOLUTE success. With a plan so wickedly cunning and unexpected, there was NO WAY the enemy team would see it coming! ‘Hey Hey Sebastian. I got a KILLER idea I think we should try. I know that we’re supposed to be stealthy n’ all, pickin’ our opponents off from a distance, but a bow can still be fired kinda close right?’

Though he didn’t like the direction of his meister’s thoughts, Sebastian answered, ‘Yes, but you’d put yourself at risk depending on the situation.’

A wild grin so wide that everyone in the gymnasium could see it appeared to adorn the erratic meister’s face, a fire lit inside of him from the pure adrenaline he knew that would be coming. ‘Oh man oh man this is gonna be EXCITING then. I might mess up a few times but I wanna try it out. That close range shooting!’

There was no direct reply from Sebastian on that point. He had a feeling Arma would do what he wanted whether he consented to it or not. That must be how this whole adventuring thing was supposed to work out. Sebastian wasn’t very familiar with it all.

With the distance between the two of them and their group brought to a close, the raven haired boy had hoped to tell his new comrades about the AWESOME strategy that he was going to implement. But it seemed as though he would never get the chance, only given the opportunity to introduce himself like he normally would before the countdown seemed to begin. With a hop, skip, and a jump he would yell out: “HEYO TEAM!” Before immediately turning toward the enemy. 3...2...1. Almost immediately, it seemed like Kyleigha would be the one taking on the leadership role, barkin’ out orders for them to follow, but giving the energetic idiot the only thing that he needed to hear:

“Arma! I don’t necessarily know what it is that you do best, but whatever it is, do it now and don’t you dare stop.”

With that signal, Arma’s hands gripped onto Sebastian, shaking with excitement, only for them to be halted by a single deep breath. There was no more time for words, now the only thing that was going to be loud was his actions. ‘Like I said before, I hope ya don’t get motion sickness.’ Without a second thought, the meister bursted forward, gunning straight for the other group with only one objective, capturing the flag. Building up enough speed from his running, the boy would use it to leap onto the nearby wall, running along it for a bit before grabbing onto the bottom of the raised seating and using his momentum to flip onto them. From there, he would continue to speed toward Quinn, the guy who had announced himself earlier. Once he had a good idea of where he was, the young meister would stop his forward movement. Planting himself behind one of the seats and taking aim the way Sebastian had told him.

Pure and unaltered soul energy flowed into Sebastian’s weapon form as Arma took aim. It was as though Arma’s soul knew exactly what to do even if his body didn’t quite seem to be on the same page. Sebastian shaped the soul wavelength into an arrow that almost looked like glass - though it wasn’t; it was pure soul energy - as it rested in the bowstring and as Arma pulled it taut. He carefully blunted the tip - after all, they didn’t need to be the first called out on breaking any rules - but he added a special little twist of energy to it, pulling it from all the energy Arma’s soul seemed to possess. He added a subtle paralytic zap to it… something that would certainly stop a target in their tracks. Well, it would, if it hit. ‘Eyes on the target,’ he guided Arma in their mental link. ‘Two fingers only on the bowstring. Use the muscles in your back - not your arms. And just let it slip when your aim is true.’

The guiding words that his weapon had spoken reminded the rascal of times past, and through the oddly calm and focused demeanor Arma had held, he would follow the instructions to a T. Just when he had felt that it was all in place, he would let the soul arrow slip.

Reality was that the whole process actually didn’t take that long, but Sebastian knew that with more practice, they would get even faster at it. Now all he had to do was wait for Arma to start moving again. There was no doubt in his mind that it would happen in 3… 2… 1…

Audriella “Ella” Thompson and Lilibell “Bell” Thompson
Without really much opportunity to get to know many of the people on their team - or on the opposing team, for that matter - Audriella and Lilibell were thrust into a game of capture the flag. Apparently, they were on the blue team. The only person they could identify as being on their team was the guy who carried the blue flag and he took off running right away with it leaving the twins to figure out what to do on their own.

“Alright Lilibell. I think it’s time we get things started with you transforming.” Audriella spoke as she began to look around and then immediately pouted when she noticed the guy who waved back at her was on the enemy team. “Aww. Sorry Arma! I guess I gotta fight you now.”

Lilibell simply rolled her eyes to the comment that her twin just made and then began to transform into her sai which was just a plain silver color. “It’s a shame we can’t deal any killing blows...Oh well. time to show them that we aren’t two people who should be messed around with. Audriella, you notice where the red flag is correct?” Lilibell asked her meister knowing she sometimes put too much of her energy into… well, energy… and not enough to paying attention to the important things.

“Yeah! I see em. What do you think we should do?” Audriella asked while looking toward Carlin who had the red flag.

Lilibell chuckled before she spoke, “He’s small just like me! I could be wrong, but small people are in most cases fast. Just throw me at his ankle, and it’ll keep him down so either you or one of the teammates can grab the flag.”

“If you say so.” Audriella began to run out into the crowd carefully aiming Lilibell so she wouldn’t totally fail and hit one of her teammates. Audriella then flicked her wrist and sent Lilibell flying at Carlin’s ankle.

1589926175703.png

Alice was distracted by her partner and her beauty. Pushing Koira off her shoulders, Alice began spinning her lightly about -just to get a feel- and really getting into it before she heard Xavian speak up. Instantly her spirit broke for just a few moments, causing blue lines to cover the upper half of her face "That...That was the time...we had to strategize?" she said aloud to her partner. Completely unaware that there was so little time. She had a team that had to be protected now. Especially one who would be holding the flag. The team is completely unprepared. There's no planning, no precaution. We're going to be running around without heads if we just go at this. Looks like she was going to have to take charge and bark out orders to get this team on the right track. If they did whatever they wanted, no doubt the Red Team would manage to see through this and know exactly where the weak point is in their situation. "This isnt good at all..." she looked at Quinn and his partner, noting that he had the flag now. "Dont lose that flag. We'll have your back." she gave him a firm nod 'Koira, we have no structural plan for this to work properly. We're going to have to defend our flag as much as we can.' Alice contacted her partner through their bond. As Xavian began to count down, the Meister slammed her palm onto her chest before closing her hand into a fist and yanking off her cloak to the side, sending it flying past her face and toward the bleachers, now revealing her entire outfit. She was ready for a fight, and she was going to do her damn hardest to win with her team.

As soon as the match started, she called out to her team "Blue team!" she shouted "We need to protect our flag but also get the objective! We cant let the Red Team get an advantage!" the enemy was in front of them, but who cared if they heard? No one knew of the other's skill. "Valentina, you stay here with Quinn for the extra support! The rest of us will try to get to that flag with whatever skills that we possess! You all need to be careful due to the lack of information on our enemy!" her heart was going, her adrenaline was kicking up, and she was pumped for this. Koira would feel everything that Alice felt 'Koira, do you have a smaller form, by any chance?' she asked, her eyes fixated on the enemy team. 'I'm curious, just in case I need to do something a little reckless.' Alice took her stance and held Koira confidently, ready to charge as needed. However, Marcus already charged ahead toward the red team 'Dammit!' she thought through her bond. Marcus was already making a reckless move and now was on the front line. It didnt take long for the twins to follow suit after him.

Hey Alice? Koira felt her voice drop an octave as she spoke to her partner, a sense of calm being delivered with the two words. She could feel everything that Alice was feeling and while it was overwhelming, the weapon remained completely stoic. Just trust in our bond and trust in our team. We may be all over the place but I think in this moment, in this game, we will be able to work together in a way that didn’t seem possible before. We all have our reasons for being here and I think everyone here is being driven to accomplish that. Her words echoed about in the seemingly empty space that she stood in. Its vacancy caused her to tremble slightly, a few of her childhood memories surfacing momentarily as she gazed around the barely lit void. How can we feel so abandoned yet be held in the hands of another? She thought to herself, hanging her head a bit as snow white hair started to entwine with the crimson. Those long strands acted as a curtain that hid her face, shielding it from the world. She had turned then to the side, gaze focused on her piano-like fingers as she lifted them up into view, clenching those hands only seconds after. No deadly force? It was those words that hit home as she thought of the weapon form that she was in. I’m probably one of the most fatal weapons in the room, I’ve put Alice at a disadvantage. She will have to maneuver me perfectly if she doesn’t want to impair anyone. She won’t be able to use me to the fullest… Koira sighed heavily with this realization.

'Koira, do you have a smaller form, by any chance?'

My other form? She gulped nervously and as she turned and was visible once again in the ethereal blade, her eyes seemed vacant and cold. No smile adorned her face, it was emotionless. Yes. If you require it, I will switch. I don’t think you’ll have any qualms with it but it will take you a while to fully understand how it works. Her tone of voice was frigid, chilling even, to further emphasize the look on her face. Most weapons would love the idea of having multiple forms but this was one that Koira wished she could rid herself of, much like the scar visible on her porcelain features, it was nothing but a bitter reminder. My first weapon form when everything happened. She hadn’t been in it since that gruesome fear filled night. For you, Alice, I will suffer those flashbacks. Those thoughts would remain private and hidden, the idea of seeming weak or small to her new meister even for a fraction of a second was simply not an option. Someone will have to step up to stop him, we should stand our ground and intercept whomever gets past him. They do have an advantage of ranged people and I’m a very in your face weapon. Can you wield me in a way that won’t severely harm someone or should I change now? I would hate for us to be disqualified if I ended up cutting through someone. Though lopping Elgin’s dumb head off didn’t seem like too terrible of a reason to lose. But alas, Koira was a team player and she knew not to put her own selfish desires above working as a unit to achieve a singular goal.

Her frigid look remained plastered upon her features, lips only twitching slightly at the thought of Elgin being KO’d. It looks like Kasper is on the enemy team as well. Do you want to avoid him or would you like to face him? She inquired simply for the fact that she had felt Alice’s madness trying to claw its way out previously because of him. If it was going to incite further rage she’d rather not have Alice lose her cool in the midst of a battle, even if the girl seemed like she was pumped full of adrenaline and ecstatic over the game. That could easily turn when someone knew how to flick the switch in someone’s head. I could always… The blade of the scythe gleamed as if the idea itself made it come alive. Technically this should stop me from cutting. She sounded quite proud of the theory bouncing around in her head as blue fire encased the sharp edges of the weapon. Ice began to form like a crystalline refinement, the colours glowing through from beneath as the edges became blunt with the help of the ice. This’ll do. Koira shivered and it was as if the handle in Alice’s hands shook a bit too, her doubts ostensibly shaken off.

Alice listened to what her partner had to say, and nodded briefly before replying to her ‘We’re fighting whoever comes at us while we’re trying to get the objective. We just have to take them out. We can't pick and choose who fights us and who doesn't.’ her eyes shifted down to Koira’s blade while it encased itself in ice for just a brief moment. ‘You were worried about slicing others up, but I knew I could trust your blade by using the opposite side. You may be a weapon that is good for slicing, but you have no reason to doubt yourself.’ standing around like a sitting duck wasn't going to get the pair anywhere, but figuring out what they could do, was important to the blonde. ‘I need you to trust me with the choices I make, so I ask you one thing, Koira. What can I do ability wise?’ fixing her hold on Koira, she began to slowly shift while her eyes over those who took their positions on the enemy team. Kye had already taken her spot up on top with her weapon partner, all the while Arma was already running along the side to take a shot at Quinn, no doubt. She had to act fast while she still could. It’s pretty simple, really. I’ll turn into a ribbon and you’ll have access to my coldfire. It can do a lot of things, freeze stuff, it spreads easily like a fire would if you will it. You can even build a wall. The more emotion you put behind it, the more chaotic it can become so you have to be careful. Koira added that last part, wanting Alice to fully understand that she would have to do her best to keep her emotions in check. ‘Okay, I’ll keep that in mind. Right now, we have another target to worry about.’ she suddenly turned and dashed towards the middle of the area she was in with haste, getting a good look at Arma’s position ‘I’m going to throw you up toward Arma because he’s about to take a shot at Quinn. I'm gonna need you to yank him down.’ Alice then pulled the scythe above her head and behind her back, putting all her strength into this throw as she let out a battle cry and launched the scythe over her head and toward Arma’s position. This left her defenseless in terms of weapon, but she was able to take care of herself.

Not even a countdown.. She scowled slightly as she felt herself become airborne, body shifting back to a human as she neared her target. I bet he’s so excited to shoot off his first arrow. Whelp, time to rain on that parade. As her lithe frame finally got within range she pivoted midair so that her legs would wrap securely around Arma’s neck. Her thighs squeezed firmly enough so she could use that momentum and flexibility to her advantage, a wide playful smirk spreading from cheek to cheek as she winked casually at him before flipping him over her and sending him flying over the chair to plummet towards the ground level. Her hands remained grabbing onto the wall that was in front of Arma, the recoil of her actions caused her to dangle from that second level as her fingers grasped even tighter. A huff of visible cold air released from her lips from the slight strain before she gathered the strength to pull herself up to safety, eyes quickly scanning the room to watch Alice from her new vantage point.

Alice smirked as she watched her weapon partner yank Arma right off the side while saving herself. She dashed toward the general direction of her partner and as her enemy was falling, she jumped up and used his body as leverage to get to the level he had just been on -in the mean time, sending him faster to the ground. The blonde grasped the side and yanked herself up n’ over the rail. “Great job, Koira, that was awesome.” she gave her a thumbs up before looking over the side and noticing the teams. Turning, she grabbed Koira and suddenly dropped behind the half-wall. “I ask you for so many favors and I feel so bad.” Alice said with a bit of a frown “But I have another idea, no one knows of your ribbon form, we can give them the element of surprise. They’d wonder where you’d gone, but you’d be right here with me.” she pointed to her Ribbons in her hair “Sound like a good idea?”

“ That’s a pretty neat idea actually. At least you can’t throw me in that form.. “ Koira’s words trailed off as this transformation thankfully wasn’t as flashy as her scythe one, a solid black ribbon now floating slowly downwards through the air in front of Alice at the speed a feather would fall. The Meister reached her hand out and gently caught the ribbon before using her free hand to undo one of the bows in her hair, replacing it with Koira’s ribbon form as she snugly slid the spare ribbon into her blouse.

"But you're not just a shield! You're tougher than you look, nyan! But you're also my friend, and as a Miester I hope you can rely on me just as much as I know in my soul that I can rely on you." She held out a pinky finger. "Nyan! And call me Kat."

Elyn looked distracted for a moment before taking her pinky in his. He began to blink rapidly as something in him swelled. It was carefully fought down. Now was not the time. Now was the time for the bravado and confidence of a warrior. “Sure thing. Kat it is. Let’s go kick some butt.” He smiled using his other sleeve to rub his eyes. “Tell me Kat, you ever been sledding or boarding?” He asked as she began to drag them to the start line. “Because I’ve got a plan.”

Elyn’s form becomes enveloped in golden light, as he makes the shift to his shield form. “And it’s going to be kind of, how do you say it?” He contemplates for a moment or so. “Rad. It’s gonna be rad.”

“Nyan! I love sledding!”
It was so cool hearing Elyn’s voice in her head. She was about to ramble on about winter in New York City, but now wasn’t really the time for that.

“Nyan!” (Roger!) She replied with a little salute. She gave Kyleigha a grin, thinking that she had been called by her actual nickname.

“What do you have in mind?” she asked Elyn through their new bond.

“Remember my grand entrance?” A reflection of Elyn’s human form smiled back at her. “I’m thinking an encore performance. That way we can stick to our man like glue.” He blinked as he watch a meister prepare to launch their weapon at their flag bearer. “Kat-Quick!” How foolish and desperate! Now they’d be separated from their meister. But that wouldn’t matter if they crippled one of his teammates first.

“On it!” Carrying Elyn, Kat booked it as fast as her little body could go to get in front of their flag bearer. She crouched down in front of him; shield clanging as the bottom touched the floor. “Stay behind us! We’ll protect you, nyyaaa!” she said to Carlin, trying to make a fierce battle cry, but it probably only came out sounding cute.

Bong!

The sai collided with the shield and was bounced back.

Carlin hadn’t completely caught up with the whirlwind that was the CTF yet, so when the duo of guardians slid to his aid his face muscles stayed strong. "Nice block." He held the flag haphazardly in his left hand, “Ah, alrighty. I’ll be counting on you two.” His foot fell behind him to ease away, that attack they got was going to have friends soon. No need to make their assignments harder he thought, red fabric secretly tucked to enforce that.

Kat got up and followed Carlin deeper into their zone; She pointed Eyln’s shield face toward the Blue Team, just in case there were more attacks directed at them.

“You don’t have any good manners do you?”

The words spoken by the hooded girl gave him a quick yet painful jab, he wasn’t expecting that kind of response, to say the least… He turned around with anger beginning to build up. As she spoke more the simmering only intensified. He lifted his finger as if to make a point, but was yet cut off by the girl’s sudden shift a well-mannered response. As if to rub salt into the wound. He was practically grinding his teeth at this point but quickly calmed himself down. Not like anything else he said would make a difference now. “Hmpf… A weapon that everyone adores eh? I’m not someone to take words at face value. Especially someone who’s too shy to take her hood off indoors. We’ll start off with introductions then… Elgin Cutlass is my name. A weapon.” His confidence returned once more as he introduced himself. His smirk forming once again. “What type of weapon you may ask? Well… You’ll just have to see for yourself. First I’d at least like to know the name of the girl that’d be wielding me first. Unless you just want me to call you Hoodie all year long?”

Viola gapes at his sudden insult. She blushes lightly holding her hood bashfully. She had her reasons and honestly, it's all in her head. Her partner proceeded to advertise themselves leaving her with a mystery of his form. The assumed nickname didn't sound pleasant. She gladly gave Elgin her name. "An-I mean, Viola. Viola Chiodos." She smiled.

As Viola introduced herself. Elgin was slightly taken aback by her smile, not used to receiving such genuine emotion. His face blushed ever so slightly as he stared off into the distance, bashfully scratching his head. “Viola Chiodos… That name is quite different… But cute.” Now he’s caught himself off guard. That’s not the usual way he says things. Attempting to change the subject he looked over to the rest of the class, seeing that they are already getting into position. “Huh!? Did that instructor already start the match!?” As usual, he was not paying attention to the class. More focused on his own interests. “ARGH! We haven’t got any kind of strategy planned! (sigh) Alright, let’s get into position, and uh… I guess… Just go with the flow????”

Viola's heart jumped at the mention of improvising battle strategies. Though sometimes, she does have an act of moving by instinct. "No." She replied. "We just need to observe." As she spoke, her hands fiddled with the cuffs of her leather jacket, over her hoodie. A nervous knack she tended to do under her own stress. What is less important is the fighting. It's Elign catching on. He hasn't shown much intelligence yet, so she might actually be safe. That did not stop the wandering thoughts plaguing her. "Whatever their movement is, counter that as best as you can." She takes a deep breath and grows serious. "You don't have to worry about that. Your focus will be on teaching me how to use you, control our wavelength while I deal with everything else." Her shoulders tensed as she turned without even bothering to uncover how his weapon form looked like. "Oh, and please...don't panic if things are off with me in battle." She said somberly, leading the way towards their group. Familiar names she was glad to be grouped with. It was a little calming.

Elgin was surprised with Viola’s suggestion; then again he wasn’t complaining either. Elgin’s motto was, 'act first, think later'. He could admit it wasn’t a great motto to live by but to be truthful he wasn’t a great strategist. So he decided to go along with Viola, moving into position by her side. Looking at all the other weapons take on their weapon forms. One that certainly caught his eye was Koira’s form. A large mean lookin’ scythe that had him somewhat starry-eyed. Like a kid seeing a brand new toy. “Alright think we’ve had enough beating around the bush here. All these weapons look cool an’ all but I think my form’s gonna drop a couple of jaws too! You ready Viola?” He took a minute to get himself prepared too. Tucking his hands into his pockets and closing his eyes, entering a brief state of calm… Before his eyes shot open again, a fire burning within and a big snarky grin to boot. His whole body was soon enveloped in a steel coloured grey aura, yet oddly bright despite the dull colour. His form shifted into the shape of a sort of sword. Though as the aura started to dissipate it could be seen that he was not just a simple sword. The hilt was visible first, including some kind of trigger built into it soon moving upwards towards the guard, which was actually instead of the loading chamber of a revolver. It spun vigorously as the rest of the blade became visible too. A two-sided blade with a barrel right in the middle. The weapon landed gently on his Meister’s arms, allowing their wavelengths to connect. He spoke once more, though being a weapon he now had to rely on telepathic communication to talk with Viola. Something he’d need to get used to. 'The Daedalus Gunblade! Careful… I pack quite a punch!' Elgin was now satisfied. Having now shown off his form. Though now that he had connected wavelengths with Viola, he could feel that odd sensation from before. Only stronger this time. It was like he was blocked off from fully connecting with her…weird.

Someone on their team started commanding after the countdown. The same brunette who growled at that one guy who made a gunshot. Taking a look at her team, she had to frown over the fact that they were grouped with the disasters who caused destruction onto a building, and Viola was sure it won't be the last with this event going on. Her attention turned toward Elign who once again, confidently bragging about his weapon form. In the blink of an eye, he transformed into what he called a "Gunblade". Viola's eyes grow starry-eyed holding a merge of two things in one. Complimenting such a unique design. Odd yet satisfying. She rubs the handle as if it were a pet. "Magnificent! This Is absolutely amazing Elign! I never would have guessed nor anyone, for that matter, that you are a contraption of two different things." She excitedly praised. "Well? What exactly can you do? You can shoot and cut?" She swings Elign once before inspecting him as if an item on display.

Elgin could’ve sworn he could feel his head getting bigger with the more praise he received. 'Ah well you know~ I ain’t THAT big of a deal~' His words were noticeably flustered. The comments clearly getting to him. Ahhh, snap outta it Elgin! He told himself. He still had to tell her how he worked. 'Oh right ahem. I don’t exactly shoot bullets like a normal gun. See that trigger on the hilt? If you pull that, I make a pretty nasty boom. It is GREAT for dealing with some damage but you gotta prepare for the recoil. Trust me it’s got enough impact to knock us back too if you ain’t prepared for it. OH! And remember to spin the chamber now and again. That’s how you reload it.' Taking a look at the current happenings it seems that the little guy has our flag. How can a small guy like that defend the flag? He wondered. One of the girls began barking orders at some of the teammates getting them into position… Seeming to forget about Elgin and Viola. Ah well… All they had to do was steal some dumb flag right? 'Hey, Viola…I say we book it right for their flag bearer…they won’t see it comin’ hehehe.'

Ah, yes. The competition has started and with Arma taking the first leap into attack mode. He had positioned himself on the bleachers as did their captain while the opposite sizes played defense and the autonomous weapon boy held the flag. It gave her the creeps the way his soul appeared almost like a villain. Why would Death accept such a soul? Viola stood back with the flag holder and decided to set it out. The only thing she can do is be support at the moment. She holds the handle of the Gunblade tightly. "I-...we…" she sighed. "We can't right now. Nothing has happe-" Viola's eyes widened as one of the blue team, the peppermint girl, was tossed and counter blocked in the lewdest way possible. Her face grew a bright red color, fuming with embarrassment and a hint of jealousy. It wasn't enough to give her a nose bleed. The scythe was retrieved safely by her meister and facing the red team. Viola must admit, the move was cleverly executed.

Along with his Meister he too watched from their side. Not like he had much of a choice anyway. Viola was the Meister so it was her call to make and she decided to stick to the defensive for the time being. Watching things unfold before making their own move. Though as usual, he wasn’t paying as much attention as she was. Noting things here and there. Though it wasn’t long before he had his full attention on the blonde streaked dude. As a stream of peppermint shot up towards him. Oh her… He watched this one carefully, looking to see just what they were dealing with. His eyes widened when Koira put the archer into a headlock… With her THIGHS! His face was a mix between excitement and RAGE as Arma was sent flying towards the ground. 'GOD DAMN THAT LUCKY ASS BLONDIE! I HOPE THAT HURT! … Hey, Viola how strict is our friendly fire policy again?' Sure it wasn’t exactly a good thing to be denied an easy win for this match… But if that happened to him instead. He’d take the loss graciously. That aside it seems that Alice and Koira were gonna be a problem as much as he’d hate to hurt a lady… They still had a game to win. “Any ideas about how we can deal with those two?” Using their telepathy, Viola stared down at the girls a little nervous. 'The policy is strict to keep everyone alive. In our case being a blade with explosive attacks against our peers. We're useless.'
