Fantasy Son's and Daughters of Olympus

"Whatever you guys plan to do, I'm in," Freya said as she joined the group, having overheard their conversation. She placed a kiss on Luke's cheek and wrapped an arm around his waist, resting her head on his shoulder. She smiled at the others, with semi-happy look before turning her attention to the photographs.

''Thank you Fawn'' Luke said then smiled as Freya joined them. Slowly he examined the photos. A shiver ran down his spine as he looked at the body in the picture. If it really was Kronos's doing, then Kronos was indeed a sadistic foe. The body looked absolutely drained and it's face seemed to haunt Luke.

Handing the phone back to Fawn, he shivered. ''Thanks Fawn'' he spoke. ''But photos aren't going to take us anywhere guys. We gotta explore the scene of the crime''

Eva looked at the walls and the few pictures that decorated them. Finally making her way down to the ground level, she walked outside, wrapping her arms around her waist in the process. She ran her fingers through her hair and played with a red strand, still looking for someone. Anyone. She was starting to feel like she wasn't able to fall through with the plan, whatever exactly it was, and she needed someone to convince her otherwise even though she knew she couldn't back out either way.

Jethro looked about at the newcomers then his attention snapped up.

"Wait a minute....is it a message or is it an attempt to get us all together in the same place with no witnesses. I don't like this guys....wait...wheres Eva?!"

Jethro reverted to his drill sergeant voice,

"EVA WHERE ARE YOU?!"

"Captain, calm down. Aurora, Ira, Will and Tom also stayed back, remember?" Idris asked, trying to calm him. "If you're worried, go back."

Freya slapped the back of Jethro's head. "Will you be quiet? We have no idea what kind of creatures are around here," she hissed at him, glaring. Moving away from the group, she began to explore the surrounding area, keeping one hand ready to grab a knife if needed.

"I can't just simply walk away here. Something is going on here, something I need to be present for. I just hope she is alright. If anything hurts her, well things won't end well for the creature that chooses that path."

Eva had been lost in her own thoughts and wandering the premises. She heard her name and jumped slightly before turning around. She looked around before walking towards the voice, still keeping an eye out around her. Soon, she found Jethro, Idris, Luke, Freya, and Fawn as well as someone she didn't know, and made her way over. "You called?" she asked, concern filling her voice.

Quickly slipping into "alert" mode, if feeling a bit irritated, Idris gave him a curt nod. "I'll go back then, to make sure she's alright. I trust you all can take care of the situation." She shrugged the rifle off her shoulders and quickly began running back to the hotel. But before she could go, who should pop up but the lady herself. With the smallest sigh of annoyance, Idris straightened again, relaxing. "Hello, Eva."

"I thought you said there were six of you." Kay told Freya wryly. "Sounds a damn lot more than six to me. Who is this Eva, anyways?" His crane, Jin, made a noise at him that sounded suspiciously like laughter, then pecked his arm. Its beady red eyes suddenly turned to look over at another boat. He hissed angrily at it.

Jethro walked over to her and taking her in a hug, he whispered what was going on in her ear. Pulling back from the hug he said,

"Just stick by alright?"

"I said there were six others. Eight total. Eva is the daughter of Hermes. She doesn't like me much," she said as her gaze snapped over to where the crane hissed. She stepped towards the boat and froze. She swore loudly as she spotted the creature and uncoiled her whip with a loud crack that echoed around dock.

Idris went back on alert, swinging her rifle into her hand in a single, swift motion. Kay, for his part, grabbed Jin by both legs. The crane immediately stiffened. Its legs melded together and the feathers lined up until they became a chain, the head turning inside out and revealing a heavy, spiked metal ball. A mace and chain, if an oddly colored one. "What is it, Freya?" Idris asked, calmly.

Eva nodded without hesitation and kept one arm around him. Smiling at Idris, she gave the girl a small wave in acknowledgement. She glanced at the stranger and gave a small forced smile. "Hi," she said quietly. "And it's not that I don't like you, Freya. I've seen what you can do and I don't like it," she corrected, slightly annoyed but jumped when she heard the crack of the whip.

Jethro looked towards the other boat. He raised his watch, gently setting his fingers on the dials in preparation of putting on his armor and weapons. He unconsciously placed himself between Eva and the source of the danger. Better him to die then her after all.

"Hydra," she shouted as the beast began to climb out of the water. Freya immediately launched herself at one of it's massive heads and wrapped her whip around it. She began to mutter in Ancient Greek, cursing as a blue flash of electric current ran down the whips length as she tried to choke it. "What ever you do. Don't cut the damned heads off!" she shouted as it grew taller and taller, rising higher and taking her with it. The Hydra head tried to shake her off but she was determined.

Eva reached into her purse and pulled out her bow. She had learned that it was best to carry it around at all times so it was never more than two feet away from her. She pulled on the strap and it silently transformed into a quiver of arrows. Stepping up without a word, she put her hand on Jethro's shoulder and pulled him back slightly. "I'll be fine," she muttered softly as she watched the beast rise from the water. "Shit," she said to herself, not caring who heard.

That's easy enough when I've only got a gun, Idris thought to herself. That said, Greek legends never told what happened when something very fast hit a hydra head, and she wasn't quite sure how that was going to work. Arrows were supposedly not very effective though, which was her first thought when she glanced at Eva. Surreptitiously covering the girl's tracks she aimed at one of the Hydra's heads and shot it pretty accurately through one eye. It screamed in rage and thrashed worse than ever, but didn't look ready to fall. Her next bullet simply bounced off its snout. Armored scales or just a very hard skull. Unless she was very close, it wasn't going to be able to punch through. It looked like Freya's method was a go after all. She ran closer to the Hydra.
Kay was also racing forward. He was a little nervous, since this was the biggest monster he'd ever fought, but he'd fought them before and knew how to do this. The adrenaline rushing through his veins excited him, and the thrashing of the silvery serpent looked like a roiling sea. "Surf's up!" He laughed as he jumped onto one of the heads, swinging his mace. He slammed it once hard into the head he was on, and it was stunned, though its skull was barely dented. It was hard keeping his balance, but he was good at that kind of thing.

Jethro looked up at the beast. After a few moments a strange look came to his face. He slowly stepped forward. Placing his hand on the three dials on his watch his spun all three of them and slammed his hand on the watches face. Suddenly his armor appeared on him but his armor had changed. It had taken on a much darker appearance.

That was not the only new thing about Jethro's armor, now painted on the front of his torso in blood red was an insignia:

Jethro smiled up at the creature, he had a slight smile on his face knowing that when the creature saw him that it would strike terror in its heart. After all, he had killed many other hydras like this one. Looking up at the creature Jethro called,

"Come Hydra, have you the strength to face The Nightmare Knight."

He stressed the last words and waited for the Hydra's reaction.

Nightmare Knight? Idris had unfortunately leapt onto the head closest to Jethro when he had changed. Unfortunate, because at the moment he changed the Hydra head in question screamed and jerked back. She kept the deep internal imprecations she was doing to herself as she struggled to stay on top of the head.

"Watch out for the poisonous breath," she called down to Idris as she tightened her grip pulling tightly as it thrashed. Pulling out a knife, she plunged it into it's eye socket, having hand enough of the thrashing before repeating the same with the other eye. The Hyrda head let out a roar as the others jerked back. She looked over in confusion and shook her head as another wave of electricity sizzled down the length of the whip, digging into the creatures hard flesh.

Eva managed to jump on another one of the heads and keep her balance. Pulling out an arrow, she readied it and bent over slightly, shooting it straight into its eye. It screeched and thrashed it's head around causing Eva to fall off. The wings on her shoes appeared and soon, she was flying. It was moments like this that she was glad Hermes was her father. She got up eye level with the head she had been on and shot another arrow in the other eye.

Jethro spun another dial on his arm and a javelin and chain appeared in his hand. He attatched the chain to the bottom of the javelin. Then taking the Javelin in one arm he threw it. It pierced through the creatures center neck. Jethro took up the chain and pulled, the creature's head slowly began coming towards him until with a heavy jerk he slammed its head to the ground.

She nodded once, not having much more energy for a response as her head seemed rather like it wanted to run away from the fight, but couldn't because of its body. "Shooting it in the eye doesn't kill it, Eva!" Idris called to her. It hadn't with a bullet, it wouldn't with an arrow. Unless... poisonous breath... a weak spot needing defending. She swung down next to its mouth, held her breath sharply and jammed her gun as deep into its throat as possible. She fired several times, and the head jerked, before slamming down next to the one Jethro had just pulled. It didn't look quite dead yet, so she put another couple bullets in its mouth, more carefully aimed to the back of the head. Her breath ran out, and she pulled back sharply, pulling her sleeve over her mouth and coughing.

"But it makes for good fun," Eva said before watching Idris's actions. She noticed the effect and pulled three arrows, readying them all in the bow at once. She held her breath and fired all three arrows. It had an understandably weaker reaction considering they were arrows. She pulled three more and fired them as well, before moving out the way as the head finally slammed down. She floated down, happy she was on the ground again.
