Unsheathing the Artic Rose,Xenon planted it into the ground. Soon,several vapour started to flow towards each other and freeze,forming into the Artic Knight himself. His presence pretty much made their surroundings feel a little colder than usual.

“...Thou do not believe that thy companion is a dormant Eidolon,it would seem.”

He spoke,looking at Ryutaro.

"Dormant Eidolon? You mean...I'm actually an Eidolon, and I haven't realized it?" Rachelle asked, shaken by this revelation "In all my life, I've lived as a perfectly normal person, why telling the truth right now?"​

“Thy ancestors no longer wanted to involved in any battle after the historical "Damnation War" ended,choosing to live a peaceful life away from conflicts.”

He explained,noting Rachelle's distressed look.

“It would seem that the revelation has left thou highly troubled. Thou should no there is no need to truly become an Eidolon if it is not what thou've wished for.”

"...I need to go home." Rachelle said "I need to know if my parents know about who I am. If they do, then that would mean I'm..."​

Everyone else in the group (apart from the Knights and Rachelle,the latter of whom had now left the party) were now at a safe haven near the Village of Saffreon,waiting for the sun to set so that they could go investigate the roars during the night. Xenon seemed a little more uneasy throughout the wait,while Ruri was doing whatever she could to make him feel better.

"So, Sidney, is this your first time taking part in adventures? As in, like an actual adventurer?" Ryutaro asked Sidney, who has since after the mission decided to join the party with the warship-class airship now being the party's main transport so they can take on quests far away from Altissia. "As an adventurer, I do lend my airship services to other parties as rewards. Fortunately, there is no deadline of my services." She says.​

“Rather generous of you Miss Polledina.” Cheng commented “Never in my life on the field has anyone ever let my former party members and I ever sit in a vehicle of sorts.”

His eyes on the horizon,Xenon recalled what had happened earlier in the temple after Rachelle requested to drop out of the party.

“Wait. There's something I want ask you two.”

“Shoot.”

The knight responded before he and the knightess could leave.

“That spells the two of you used when we saw each other for a brief while...how are you two in possession of the "System Call" magecraft?”

“Oh,uh....”

The knight looked at the knightess for a while,before the latter sighed and turned towards Xenon.

“As much as we'd like to tell you,that information is classified. Along with our identities. All I can say is we're in no way intending to step in your way and will gladly assist should out goals be aligned. Now then,we shall be off now.”

The knightess turned to walk away,while the knight shrugged lightly and pat Xenon's shoulder.

“Right soooo....I guess we'll be seeing each other again one day huh? So yeah,later dude.”

He too turned to walk away....until he stopped by the door at the other end of the hallway and yelled towards him.

“Sorry about the bottle to the head by the way!”

"...You don't think those two are...well...your siblings?" Ryutaro guessed.​

“I don't even know myself. Ever since after what had happened in Axis Mundi...my mind's been shutting out many other memories other than the death of my father occuring in front of me.”

Xenon explained.

“But....I could've sworn an explosion hit the two of them point blank. How could they have survived? Not only that,the knightess also mentioned that there had been clans in Eden who are actually not onboard with the other family's methods. If that's the case then....what is even going on at this point..?”

"Beats me. The sun is almost down. We're probably gonna need a game plan." Ryutaro says.​

“Right...”

“Well. We do know that the villagers have explained that what they've been hearing does not belong to any demons that had been known to roam outside of the borders. That,and several adventurers before us had already went into the cave nearby and found nothing. Perhaps the woods may hide what we're looking for.”

“Maybe. Did they tell you who the names of the Adventurers are when you and Sidney asked them for a more details?”

"They didn't drop any names, but still claim that previous adventurers found nothing. Perhaps this creature knows that they're onto it." Ryutaro says.​

“Well...hopefully whatever it is we're looking for doesn't think the same for us.”

Xenon felt Ruri tug at his sleeve,with her motioning him to bring his ear closer. Doing as told,he soon heard Ruri whisper an idea. Judging by his horror stricken expression,it was not a safe one.

“Wha- Are you crazy...!?”

She shook her head.

"What's wrong Xenon? What did Ruri say?" Ryutaro asked, concerned to what the dragon girl had whispered to him.​

“She said she'll try acting as a bait to lure our target out of its hiding spot....!”

Xenon answered,with Ruri simply nodding without a sense of fear present.

"Wait, are you sure?" Ryutaro is showing concern, the same goes with the others. "We don't have any idea of what kind of monster we are dealing with. You sure you want to act as bait?" He asked.​

She nodded again,determined to help in anyway she could. Xenon could only sigh and exasperation while burying his face onto his palms.

“Rachelle's gonna kill us if she finds out we just did "this".”

Although come to think of it. How is she doing now,I wonder?

"Do you have any other ideas? If not, then let's not waste time." Ryutaro said. A few hours later, the group be in the forest with Ruri out in the open and the other hiding in the brushes. They've waited for a long time and they begin to wonder when will this creature ever appear. That is until they hear humming.

"Hmm~ Hmm~ Hmm~"​

“Huh? Who....?”

Xenon whispered to the others as he tried to find the other person present in the forest.

As they look for the source of the humming, they could hear the sound of water splashing. There seems to be a lake somewhere nearby.​

Ruri looked at the group and nodded,being the first to walk cautiously towards the lake while the rest followed quietly.

It shouldn't be a Siren...right?

Upon arriving at the lake, the group will be welcomed by the sight of a bathing beauty unaware of her surroundings and taking her time. From the looks of her, she doesn't look like much of a siren. However, upon closer inspection, the group is shocked by what the young woman has; on her back, there are about twenty one runes etched on it. What kind of runes are they? They don't seem to belong to a specific category. What's more weird is that up until, the creature has yet to show up. Strange. Could this woman have some sort of connection to the noises that the village hears at night?​

“The number of runes on her back is just insane...! How long did she have to put with someone carving those-”

Xenon quickly stopped himself as Ruri sat by the edge of the lake and quietly looked at her. He himself stepped away from the bush and took a little more distance away from the lake.

“I'm not gonna risk letting her think I'm a pervert.”

As Ruri watched, the group begins to hear loud flapping noises off a distance. The woman turns back and said "Ah,it must be my parcel. Oh, there it is." The flapping noises begin to grow louder and louder by the second until something big appears before the bathing beauty. A large bird lands by the edge of the lake, holding a basket in it's beak. "Hey there Garuda. You got my parcel?" The woman ask as she approaches the large bird, taking the basket and then takes out what appears to be a bar of soap and a bottle of shampoo. "Thank you. You may return now." She thanked the creature as it gets engulfed in light, turns into a small orb, and flies into one of the runes of the woman's back. She then goes back to her bathing session.​

“Oh....no wonder people couldn't find whatever it was that was growling in the distance... it's a part of her.”

Xenon muttered softly to himself. Right at that moment Ruri yawned.
