Honestly, I'd assumed that Ruler was meant to be a GM role. I don't really regret applying for Berserker or the character I have(I said from the outset that I wanted to do a proper Berserker, as noone else seems to want to do), but I'd really have liked to play that role.

Maybe sometime in the next RP that's run, you can do that. It'd be lovely to have another group of Servants, y'know?

Ruler is a class for true rulers, that it is. True rulers are meant to be the compass of a people, the judge of right and wrong, that they are. Therefore they must ensure that nothing perverse or unfair happens over the course of the grail war, that they do. They protect the sanctity of the grail at all costs that they do.

I just want to say that I absolutely despise rulers in fate RPs and desire above all else to kill them in every RP they're a part of.

That's like saying you want to stab the referee in a football game until all his blood comes out from either his gut or his mouth.

Because Ruler is supposed to be just a glorified referee.

That's precisely why I hate them in RP. Because in a normal holy grail war there's nothing to referee and so their existence requires something else, like the Beast, which I also hate because they just exist to mess up the proper servant/master teams. Then this is made worse when beast/ruler aren't owned by the GM because when given to another player they get unnecessary amounts of screen time and inject themselves where they shouldn't. Which is understandable, this is their only character and they want to RP, but it means you have a referee out on the field playing alongside the players because they're bored.

So all in all I've always despised the ruler/beast thing because I just feel it needlessly steps on people's toes. Ruler exists for no other reason than to fight beast, and Beast exists for no other reason than to be ignored because nobody wants to deal with them but they have to deal with them because they can't just ignore them.
