Fandom Shimmering Shade (always open) - Additional IC

Briarpaw's head rose and without stretching, he walks from his nest. It wasn't even warm yet seeing as he had been out half an hour ago. His whiskers twitched at the suggestion of a hunting assessment and quickly agrees. It would do good for him to go hunting. Walking out past his mentor, his eyes flick around the camp and land on Nightshade briefly. He slowly makes it to the entrance ready to go on this test Redsage had proposed.

Gingerpaw was next to wake up, his ear twitching to life as his brother walked from the den. He knew Briarpaw had been out though has no idea as to what the apprentice had been up to. He's so distant... Groaning, the young cat gets up and stretches, eyes glowing with the start of a new day and walking out from the den. He looks around catching sight of Briarpaw just before he leaves and then looking away.

@DemonKitten

Redsage kept herself calm as she could manage. Briarpaw seemed to dislike her enthusiasm, though it was probably her enthusiasm that made her his mentor. The left the camp as she thought of where to start his assessment. "Greenleaf is at its hottest so most prey will be around the lake. Remember where we first went fishing? That is where your assessment will start. I will be watching you closely. You have until the sun starts to dip on the otherside," She meowed to him calmer than she thought she could get.

Noticing his sister vanish, Nightshade approached the apprentice den. "Gingerpaw," He spoke sternly, void of any sympathy. "If you want to be better than your brother maybe you should start by being up earlier than him," He meowed, though with no real emotion around it. "I have a mission for you today. Actually, a couple," Nightshade got up and started to walk towards the entrance of camp. "You will hunt down a bird that I buried to see how your tracking is," He instructed the tom.

@ShadedRose

Mistyrose decided she would follow what Nightshade and Redsage were doing and go and fetch her apprentice. She looked into the apprentice den for Oakpaw. "Oakpaw, are you up?" She meowed sweetly. "I thought we would do some battle training. Perhaps, Wasppaw wants to join?" She looked over at the small orange tom. She noticed that Badgerlily was out, so she thought that they could train together. "How about it?" She asked both apprentices.

@Jinx

((I have an apprentice who doesn't care and one that cares too much xP))

It was wrong, he knows that; Redsage was kind though he has no control over who their leader assigns them with. A twinge of sympathy forms for the warrior though it is short lived. Briarpaw watched his mentor pass him and lead the way out. He pauses and nods his head. "Start at the lake and work from there." He replays her assessment then slowly heads for the lake. The morning heat is sure to lure out the mice and even the squirrels... He contemplates his plan for action and silently checks his surroundings once there. His nose sniffs at the air and in plain view he spots a few young mice scurrying through the fallen leaves and grass. He flattens himself to blend in the shade and looks up into the trees seeing a couple birds and a squirrel eating at the bottom of the nearby tree. Turning himself slowly but fast enough to lunge for the thing, he lands right on it and with a precise bite to the neck it becomes another piece of food for the clan. He quickly crouches down again and looks back to where the mice had been. Lucky for him they seem completely oblivious to the recent death and so the tom quietly buries the squirrel and then turns, pouncing and getting two of the three.

Gingerpaw's ears droop slightly at Nightshade's words and a brief nod is all he gives. His mouth staying closed while lost in thought. Briarpaw was the about the only reason behind his true ambitions anyway. Hearing that Nightshade has a couple missions in mind, Gingerpaw brightens a tad bit and looks at his mentor paying attention now. The apprentice follows behind the other cat listening as he's give the first task. He would have to find the bird. Nightshade hadn't came back to camp but a few minutes ago so I have to trace his steps. Sniffing quietly he waits until Nightshade is finished talking to pass him and leave from the camp. Everything is set on finding that bird.

@DemonKitten

Silverpaw grabbed a mouse and settled down to eat it, deciding to ignore the stares from some of her clanmates. If they wanted to know where she had been, they could just ask, instead of staring like she had grown another head. She flicked her tail, mildly annoyed by it all. She looked up in surprise when Wildsong settled down next to her, nudging her shoulder with her muzzle. "Its so good to see you, Silverpaw! We've missed you, Maplehollow more than any of us. No wonder she's so happy now. Whatever happened to you?" Wildsong meowed, happy to be friendly with the returning apprentice. Swallowing her bite, Silverpaw let out a purr. "Its good to be home." But at the question, she grew a little serious. "Some twolegs caught me and took me to their nest. I tried to get away, but before I could they moved to a different nest. It was much farther than the other, it was a very long walk." The last bit was said as a sort of joke, drawing a purr of amusement from the other she-cat.

Stonesong shuffled his feet nervously at the entrance, wondering what he should do now. He had organized the patrols and given every task that needed to be done to soe cat, as a deputy should. He was considering going to check on how their apprentices were doing, but Dreamstar hadnt returned to camp yet. That in itself worried him. But he couldnt leave the camp without a leader, so what could he do? He looked around quickly, seeking out his sister. "Wildsong!" He called, waving her over. The she-cat meowed a goodbye to Silverpaw, who was finishing her meal and padded over. "I need you to find Dreamstar, she left earlier and hasnt come back." He said quickly, and after sharing a worried gaze, Wildsong took off, tracking their leader as best she could.

Silverpaw finished the mouse, overjoyed to have eaten a full meal without worrying about what was sneaking up behind her. She trotted back to the den, ducking in with a purr. "Are you ready, Maplehollow?"

With no patrol being seen, Hiddenvale crosses the border. Padding slowly he stays alert. Being amedicine cat should void them of any trouble they might face, but one could never be to wary...

@Jinx @Anyone in Shimmerclan

Oak paws head popped up at the sound of his name then he kept up and ran to the entrance. "Yes!!!!" He yowled as he pranced around.

Dream stars mind raced as she breathed in, she looked at the cat that was standing next to her but she couldn't make the cat. "I'm fine." She rasped as she tried to raise her self but fell right back down with a thud. She closed her eyes as she felt a cold rush through out her body, panting she would open them again. "Go get maple hollow." She said in a dry raspy voice.

Tiger paw followed the medicine cat as they crossed the border, her heart raced. She didn't know this part of the forest and brig attacked was all that raced through her mind.

@StoneWolf18 and any other cat as well

Redshade waited for awhile before heading out to check her apprentice's progress. She couldn't help but feel like he was dissatisfied by her teachings, but no matter that. Redshade would try her best and make Briarpaw a proud warrior. Noticing he had already made a few kills, Redshade nodded proudly at his quick work. Slinking back into the shadows, she continued to follow his scent, a few paces behind.

Nightshade let the tom guide him, slightly dissatisfied to have such an easily word effected apprentice. He shook his head as he thought of his planes he had tonight. He was quite unmotivated by the recent movements of his clan and had become restless. Lately, he had been going out late into the night and early into the morning doing something that not even Maplehollow knew about. "Are you going to find this bird or not?" He grunted impatiently.

@ShadedRose

Maplehollow was fixing her supply so she wouldn't have to when they returned to go to Star river tonight. "Ah, Silverpaw, Yes. I am ready," She purred at her apprentice and exited her den. "Have you seen Dreamstar?" Maplehollow worried about the leader constantly. Though she had plenty of lives it always felt like she was on her last. "I just don't know what to do about her. Perhaps starclan will tell me tonight," She meowed as her and Silverpaw walked out of camp.

@Flutterby

Briarpaw had already caught a good few pieces of meat and had just pounced onto yet another unsuspecting mouse. His eyes rose as Redsage made a brief appearance and gave a slow blink before going on his way, placing his kill within a dense thicket bush. The apprentice's eyes darted around the trees eventually catching sight of a bird a couple yards up into a tree. His tail flicks back and forth before deciding to go for it and swiftly shooting up the base of the tree and landing on the branch the bird was residing in. Leaping onto the thing he is rewarded with a couple scratches to the cheek. It is soon dead, however. Climbing back down with the rather plump bird in tow, he pauses and looks around. Most prey had been startled by the thrashing of the bird's wings resulting in Briarpaw having to take a break. His eyes and ears still open and ready as he walks further into Shimmerclan turf.

Gingerpaw's ear twitched at Nightshade's impatient comment and quickens his pace. By following the scent he soon came to the place where he's sure it's located. Digging lightly into the soil and pulling the dirtied creature out, Gingerpaw lays it down and glances to Nightshade. He wasn't at all expecting anything other than a comment of how slow he is or something along those lines. Sighing softly, he wonders about Briarpaw's training and how much of a natural he is. Shaking his head and turning fully to his mentor. "What was the next mission?" He needs to get up to Briarpaw's level.

@DemonKitten

Silverpaw tilted her head, thinking back over the morning. "She left camp pretty early. I havent seen her since then though." She meowed worriedly, glancing around the camp quickly. The leader wasnt anywhere to be seen. "Im sure Starclan will speak as wisely as ever." She murmured, her worry causing her to grow quiet. They headed out of camp, passing an anxious Stonesong. He gave the pair a nod, but didnt speak.

Wildsong trotted through the forest, following Dreamstar's scent trail. Suddenly, she broke through the trees and found her, weak and wet at the edge of the stream. "Dreamstar!" She gasped, dashing over and stopping next to Badgerlily(?). "Oh my.. I'll find Maplehollow!" she said, dipping her head before dashing away again.

Badgerlily had yet to get a response from her soaked leader, her eyes darting to Wildsong as she approached and giving a quick nod. Once the she cat had fled to find the medicine cat she turns back to Dreamstar and quietly calls to her. She was breathing but just barely. "Dreamstar, wake up. You'll worry everyone if you don't wake up." Placing a paw to the leader's stomach and gently nudging her, Badgerlily waits.

@Jinx

Dream star watched as a cat ran up to her and then run away, she couldn't make them out. Her head raced with everything that was happening, he heart was racing and her breathing paced faster. She looked at the cat that was nudging her. She let out a yelp. "I'm not loading my first life, not here not now." She gasped as she felt her lungs burning, and her eyes watered. "Please maple hollow hurry." She said before she was gasping for air. "I'm sorry you have to see this..." She gasped looking at the cat. She new she wasn't going to lose a life just then but it was getting close.

"Dreamstar..." Badgerlily's eyes showed her compassion toward the she cat and slowly she sits by her side meowing quiet reassurance. "You're not going to loose a single life and I'm not going anywhere.." She added and hopes Wildsong can find Maplehollow quickly. Her own paws itching to help with finding her. "I know it must hurt, breath in then out through your nose, you mustn't think about the pain right now." She told the leader. Her eyes watching every move and knowing most of her energy must be ebbing away.

Dream star did as the car said and she was breathing a little better. She closed her eyes for a second and then reopened them, she looked at the cat next to her and her eyes focused and she saw badger Lilly. "Badger Lilly... Thank you." She said closing her eyes again. She was still breathing and her heart slowed to its regular pace.

Dreamstar's calmer breathing pattern eases Badgerlily's worry a bit. The cat watched her leader's eyes close and then reopen a moment later. Her eyes brighten a bit out of concern but also thankfulness. It was a good sign and sighing, the warrior sits with the tail resting lightly on Dreamstar's shoulder. "Just relax, Maplehollow will be here soon..." She said softly again with a half smile.

As they approached the camp, they slowed even more. The last thing they needed was to be seen as hostile. Even though being a medicine cat stated he was peaceful, Shimmerclan was still on edge.

Badgerlily could smell through the wind approaching Shadeclan scent, her fur bristling slightly but not leaving Dreamstar's side she hopes that Stonesong would be able to take care of whatever was going on. That's when the scent of herbs caught her nose and quickly, she shot up. "Here!" She yells hoping to be heard and quietly pacing a couple feet from her leader.

Wildsong raced through the forest, catching the vaguely familiar scent of the Shadeclan medicine cat. Finally, she found her own medicine cats.

Silverpaw and Maplehollow padded along, chatting as they always did. Suddenly, Wildsong skidded to a halt in front of them. "Dreamstar is in trouble and the Shadeclan medicine cat is coming!" The she-cat exclaimed quietly, looking between the two.

Silverpaw glanced at Maplehollow, worriedly twitching her whiskers. "I'll go see Hiddenvale. Get Dreamstar to camp quickly." she said, before dashing off to find the Shadecaln medicine cat.

@ShadedRose @DemonKitten

It wasnt hard- they werent far and their strange scent seemed to fill the forest. "Hello you two." She said with a friendly purr, padding up calmly. "What brings you so far this way?" She asked, stopping in front of them with a purr.

@StoneWolf18 @Jinx

Tiger paw stopped when she saw the shimmer clan cats, she poked at hidden vale her eyes filled with in easiness. "Hidden vale...." She whispered looked at her medicine cat as she backed up a little.

All Badgerlily really caught from the conversation is to get Dreamstar to camp. Easy enough... She sighs turning to the Shimmerclan leader and leans down, nudging her side and helping her rise up slowly. "Dreamstar, let's get you home." Whispering this she helps her up and toward camp.

Dream star moved slowly as they walked, her whole body ached and she just wanted to lay down. But she new if she did she would never eat up until she only had 8 lives left. As they walked she sniffed the air and caught the sent of shade clan cats. "Why are there shade clan cats here." She asked in a raspy voice.

"It's Shadeclan's medicine cat." She answers the question while supporting Dreamstar's weight using her own as a balance. "Stonesong will deal with them, I'm sure he has it all under control." Her words ring sincerity though in her mind the annoyance remained. She would have to get over it though. Her leader needs her at the moment.

"Hello" Hiddenvale dipped his head to the Shadeclan cats. "I have come because I am in need of some assistance"

Dream star nodes. "Ok..." She said weakly as she walked with her warrior, she tried not to lean as much but she couldn't help it her feet wouldn't take the wait if her.

Once to camp they're met by Longwhisker. The old tom quickly comes to help and allows Badgerlily to ease the she cat into the medicine cat's den. "Maplehollow?" Badgerlily called and waits a moment before leaving Longehisker and Dreamstar to find the cat.
