Fandom Shimmering Shade (always open) - Additional IC

Dream star countioned to pace, her thoughts wondering. She walked into her den, the lichen the covered the entrance kept it cool and dry. Once in she laid down on hr bedding and rested her head on her paws. She slowly drifted into a peaceful sleep that soon would bring up old and painful memories.

The light chirp of birds, and the smooth, light breeze russeled the leaves ever so slightly on the trees. The long green grass waving so slightly, and the clouds covering and uncovering the sun every so minute or so. Dream star awoke in a clearing, the smooth breeze making her long fur wave. Her eyes woundered around as she sat up, slowly she stood and walked around the clearing. To the side she saw a narrow path, just enough for a cat to pass though. She hesitated for a moment she padded though, the grass on each side brushed against her fur ever so slightly.

Moments later she emerged from the grass, walking into another clearing. But it was different, a heaviness hung there that made her freeze. She saw, her? But younger, and her mentor Tiger Fur. She watched, her mind wondering what was happening. Just then, out of the corner or her eye, she saw a fox. For a moment she though her heart stopped, she remembered every second of that moment. Was she seeing old memories? Was it star clan doing this? She didn't know, she tried to move but couldn't, she was frozen there unable to move. Just then the fox leaped and landed on top of Tiger Fur, and just like that it was gone.

She then felt it lighten up, she let out a breath she held and staggered back. "W-why? What make me see that again...?" She gasped, she looked around and saw more painful memories. The time when she fell in the river and was dragged down, or the battle she lost her best friend Fallen Paw from a wild dog attacking them. Over and over she watched, more and more painful memories she wished she never had to relive. The last one, she felt as if she couldn't breath anymore. The leader before her, her best fiend, and the one she loved was killed right in front of her. She will never forget that day, it was a cool morning, due still on ground when he and she went out hunting. That was the day she was gonna tell him how she felt, but it was ruined, all ruined.

They where at a small stream, a fish swam by and Drout Star put his paw in and flung it up and on to the shore. Just then a cat leaped out from a bush across from the stream, and attacked Drout Star. She tried to help but it was to late, the cat clawed him straight down the middle. (Think of what happened to Tiger Star) She watched as her slowly bleed to death and breathed his last breath. She was so stunned and heart broken, that she didn't even notice the cat leap at her. Before she knew it she felt a red hot burning on her side.

Right after the memory stopped, she took a breath and closed her eyes. When she opened them again she was surrounded by cats with shimmering pelts, among them was Blue Fire. "W-why did you show me those?" She asked, her eyes pleading that she gave her an answer. "This is are was of punishing you." One said, a Tom. "Pun-punish me? What did I do wrong, I've been trying my best with everything." She said her voice shaky. "You know, that there is only two main clans of the forest and that's how it's supposed to stay. And yes, we did send a message to Shadow." One cat stood and walked up to her. "But we didn't want all of the clans to join, we want Shimmer and Shade to join. Fight against the raising, evil power." Just then all the cats disappeared and it was pitch black, a vision? No, a cat the fur shinning and glimmering like a star. As it got closer she saw him more clearly. "Dro-Drout Star?" She asked as the shimmering of his fur died down and he stood in front of her, he looked the same before her died. "I'm only hear to show you this, and after to talk." Just then.......

(What do you want her to see? @DemonKitten)

Nightshade watched the two apprentice and the shock, equal to his own, on his apprentice's face. He had noticed the scent of another bird caught, but decided to just mark it off. Purring to Gingerpaw, Nightshade tapped his apprentice on the head for a job well done. "You have actually learned something," he meowed returning to his normal monotoned ways. Redsage tilted her head confused at Briarpaw, but proud all the same. "Next time, Briarpaw," she purred. "You are still an amazing apprentice," she encouraged him. "I guess you two get to eat the bird," Nightshade looked at the bird, his stomach queasy for reasons he had yet to reveal. "Gingerpaw, you may share with your brother before we continue. After all, you are both valuable to the clan," with that he turned to Redsage with a nod before scoping on ahead while the two finished.

@ShadedRose

Droutstar looked straight into the darkness as it revealed a shadowed land that appeared to be the home of the clans. Their home showered in blackness and red mixed in with water and mud. Droutstar remained silent as screams filled the emptiness. Cats yowling in pain as larger, wrath like cats choked them with their own blood. Shadow was in the vision. Her eyes empty and unsure of herself as she watched a dark figure loom above her in an attempt to end her life. Before the killer could be seen, the darkness consumed the vision as the shimmer of light returned. "Remember that not all the shadows are bad, some are lost with in the light, seeking justice for what they feel is right," He turned to Dreamstar with wisdom within his eyes. "You must find a way to stop those that pose as us, before the darkness rules the forest," He started to vanish as he whispered farewell to Dreamstar. "I have faith in you," he meowed as he started to disappear.

Dream star watched the vison, she didn't know what she was watching but the howls of pain and screeching made her ears hurt and heart. She saw shadow, and before she saw who the cat was that was I front of her the vison stopped. She took a breath, her heart racing, she looked at Drout Star. "W-wait!" She gasped as she watched him disappear. "I don't under stand..." She said pain and sorrow in her eyes, Drout Star was no longer there and before she ask more she awoke with a start.

She laid there, her heart racing and her eyes woundered around her den. She got up and walked out side, her eyes filled with fear and worry ness. 'Shadows..... shadow.' She thought, she took a breath and started to walk to the med cats den hoping o see her and talk to her about this.

(I feel rally bad hats its not as great as the last one, but I've been at work sicnr 7:30 this morning and I'm super tired so hope your not mad.)

Maplehollow was busy concentrating on her supply, worried it wouldn't be enough for the impending doom she felt. I need to check on Wasppaw as well. She how his training is coming along, she reminded herself. She liked Wasppaw's presence since Silverpaw was no longer around. It was a nice comfort to the she-cat. Her ears pricked as she noticed Dreamstar's scent coming closer. She could sense the fear and worry, causing her own to shake for a moment before calming herself for the sake of her leader. "Dreamstar?" she called as she went to meet the she-cat halfway.

The light colored apprentice stared at his mentor with raised ears. He wasn't expecting to be praised by the older cat the way he was though it felt good despite the credit obviously not belonging to him. Smiling around the dead bird in his mouth, Gingerpaw nodded his head and set the creature down. He turned his head to look over at Briarpaw and was still a bit confused by his brother's nonchalant exterior. Briarpaw listened to Gingerpaw be praised by his mentor and then looked toward his own. She was being her ordinary self but Nightshade's continuous odd behavior was proving to Briarpaw that something was up. He wasn't sure why but decided to stay silent about it. He smiled slightly at Redsage and nodded. Her second comment about him being an amazing apprentice stuck and for a moment he stared blankly as if not comprehending. His slight grin returned and a low purr sounded.

When being told to share the bird with his brother, Gingerpaw tilted his head. "Are you sure?" He had asked after setting the thing down. His eyes darted toward Redsage and then Briarpaw who sat silently not seeming to show much emotion as usual. The cat just nodded his head again and bit into the bird. Briarpaw blinked and quietly sat opposite of Gingerpaw while eating the prey. He wanted to hurry along, the anticipation getting to him. The two were finished after a couple minutes.

Badgerlily walked into camp after the time she had been out hunting. A young squirrel, two birds and a couple mice hung from her mouth. It wasn't much considering how many mouths there are to be fed but the warrior felt pretty confident with her kills even if they weren't her best. Her mind was swimming thinking about Wasppaw and how she would be training him harder to get him to where he needs to be. She was scared that he was falling behind the others and therefor she would be taking him out later in the day and doing a tracking assessment to make certain of her apprentices tracking skills. That would be step number one and seeing as she had already left plenty scent behind it shouldn't be too difficult at the beginning. He would have to track every inch she crossed and make it to where she stopped.

@PlaguedWithInsanity

Dream stars are twitched as she saw maple hollow, hr ears twitched, and her tail moved nervously. "Maple Hollow, I-I need to speak to you, about a vision..." She said her eyes filled with fear and miss understanding. She looked around to make sure no one was near, she touched her tail for her to follow her, she went up and into her den and sat.

@DemonKitten

Wasppaw played around the camp like usual, his childish nature taking over quite a bit. He hadn't grown much, and even that was evident with his small and fragile stature, but he would still play like the rest of the apprentices, but in a more immature fashion. He was playing with a leaf, much like a kit would, chasing it around the apprentice's den and trapping it under his paws; until the wind would steal it from under his little claws. Wasppaw then frowned and looked around, appearing very confused. "Where'd it go?" he asked himself, genuinely dumbfounded as to where the leaf had gone. But there it sat, in his blindspot. He frowned, looking around everywhere. He then growled out a grumpy sounding noise out deep from his throat and lied on his stomach with a pout. He had no one else to play with, because all the other apprentices were out training. Wasppaw rolled his eyes in an immature manner, his only conclusion being that his mentor was too busy for him at the moment, his stubborn feelings kicking in.

One advantage of losing one's sight or other vital sense is that all the others are heightened by quite a bit. He heard Badgerlily pad into camp shortly after he had caught her scent. "Baaaadgerlily!" Wasppaw called out to her until he soon bounced up onto his paws with a bright smile, walking over to her, right up to her with her fresh-kill in hand.

@ShadedRose

Redsage watched the two apptentices before turning to her own brother who was starting off into the distance. She questioned his out behavior but was afraid to ask and run the great atmosphere. This was the brother she always wanted beside her as a mentor and now here he was. She knew it was too good to be true but right now it didn't matter. For a moment, this was hers.

Nightshade noticed Redsage watching him and decided to get up. The apprentices were done eating so he nodded to his sister. "Let's get going before it gets any later," he meowed as their adventure came to a close. Soon he would reveal his reasons for this outing. Redsage walked beside him and he flicked her with his tail. She purred and he felt sorry he had been cold for so long, but now that he was about to do what he was going to do, he now wished he had been closer to her through out their warriorship. He sniffed the air and caught the scent of a strange cat and headed towards it.

@ShadedRose

Maplehollow nodded and guided the leader into her den. "No one is with me at the moment," she meowed, feeling a twing of pain at the memory of silverpaw. "What is wrong, Dreamstar?" She asked the leader calmly, hopping she could wear off on the leader.

@Jinx

Badgerlily's ears twitched and her head turned to stare off toward her apprentice. She nods her head as he came close and quietly set her kills down adding them to the pile in hopes to keep the clan fed. "Hello Wasppaw, what have you been up to?" Her eyes wandered over his ruffled fur already knowing that he must have been spending his time playing by himself. "If you aren't too busy I was thinking we could practice some of your battle training..it's time that you showed me all that you've learned." Smiling as she went quiet, the she cat sat and pulled a mouse from the pile before beginning to eat the small creature.

@PlaguedWithInsanity

Gingerpaw sat up quickly rising with as Nightshade did so before padding behind the two. Briarpaw wasn't as quick to get moving, licking at his paws for a brief moment then getting up to follow the rest. He was curious about their next 'assessment' and wondered if Redsage already knew. His paws tread along the grassy ground feeling more and more impatient with each step. There were plenty of other things for him to do and practice without being sent on this walk through the woods. At least Gingerpaw wouldn't look like a mousebrain as much as usual. Briar's eyes flicked toward Nightshade then his brother and a sigh nearly escaped. Gingerpaw would have to grow up one day.

Gingerpaw couldn't have been happier out here with his mentor and their siblings. He was excited to have been praised despite the kill not been made by himself. Perhaps Briarpaw was trying to be nice? The idea of his brother wanting to help him makes Gingerpaw purr quietly. The purring ceased, however, after catching a new and unfamiliar scent only a few fox lengths from where they were. When Nightshade turned in the direction he closed his mouth from saying anything and decides just to wait and watch what was about to happen. Maybe it would be a part of their test.

@DemonKitten

Wasppaw looked up at her with a bright smile, full of childlike aspirations. Badgerlily, mature as ever, merely asked him what he had been up to, as she placed her hunted fresh-kill into the pile. "I'm doing good." He said confidently while craning his neck back a little bit in order to be able to look at her more properly, so he stepped back a couple pawlengths in order to do so. Not much noticing hid ruffled fur, he merely responded to Badgerlily's question on whether or not he was busy, so that they maybe could start some training together.

Battle training was always really fun, but quite difficult as well at the same time. "Yeah! That sounds like fun. Let's go!" Wasppaw bounded as he nudged her chest with his forehead, not yet noticing that she had pulled out a piece of fresh-kill and began to eat it. It didn't take much to satiate the small apprentice, seeing as that he wasn't that big, so he really didn't eat much in general. "Huh?" When Badgerlily didn't budge, he pouted briefly and sat down next to his mentor, leaning against her thick fur.

His vision wasn't the best, and out would only be getting worse from here, but sometimes Wasppaw was not too observant in the first place, as well as incredibly ditsy and air-headed at times.

@ShadedRose

Dream star ears twitched and her tail swayed slightly. She sat, her fur standing on end, she told her everything that she saw. Every little detail, when she was done she closed her eyes. "I don't know what it means...." She mumbled, when she opened her eyes again the stained off into the distance.

@DemonKitten

(So sorry I was gone, I was in Salem Illinois for a week.)

Nightshade approached the border and remained still until an orange tom approached him with cold, green eyes aimed at the others. "I am leaving," he meowed to them as he saw the shock on Redsage's face. "I do not believe in Starclan anymore and have no need for this mindless guidance that our leader seeks," Redsage remained silent, unsure what to do. "I believe it is time for a new order. One on strength and determination since it seems our clans fail to even step a foot on their own. At least someone is taking action and so will I," he growled, but then his face turned softer as he looked at Redsage. "I was always envies of your naive nature and optimistic outlook. I am sorry I turned away from you," Redsage couldn't say what she wanted to stop him. It finally all made sense. IT wasn't her he hated, it was the faith that the clans held and Redsage's endless happiness only caused him sorrow. "Don't go," Nightshade purred and bid his sister farewell. "Good luck, young toms. May you light your own path," he meowed before disappearing into the bushes.
