There's also some pretty good techniques here — from how it classifies things, the messer is basically a cross between a knife and a sword.

Like a medieval age machete.

German swordfighting? I heard that them Germies believe in the ULTIMATE OFFENSE, keeping up your attacks so that the enemy has no time to react to all of them. While the Brits focus more on feints to lure your opponent off-guard then strike at the most opportune moment.

Still, there's a reason those germanic mercenaries were so good at warfare — that, and the original zweihanders, which I last heard could tear apart six men at a single swing.

Italian swordfighting has, admittedly, more principle and style than germanic swordfighting. This manual is a must, if you're interested in just more than kills.

Damn, Liberi has quite a good few of techniques, most of which rely on disabling the opponent using quick grapples.
