Good point, I just wanted to say they wouldn't be at a huge disadvantage by not being a swordsman. They're speaking of the Lightning Kingdom so I reckon they do xD, as Novas said that the LK invented sword arts (apparently?)
Swords is probably the main weapon throughout the entire RP so it's pretty good to have knowledge on how to use it at least, yeah! Slashy slashy, ketchup spillsGood point, I just wanted to say they wouldn't be at a huge disadvantage by not being a swordsman.
Right, fair, though I can imagine there's the potential for a pure caster to do just as well.Swords is probably the main weapon throughout the entire RP so it's pretty good to have knowledge on how to use it at least, yeah! Slashy slashy, ketchup spills
Jean sounds like Walt now, *snorts* No wonder they're such good buds.Jean doesn't use sword — I mean, only swords...
What? A man has to compensate for his lack of magical prowess.

Right, didn't most medieval foot soldiers use spears because of how easy they were to use?The sword in all honesty is a difficult weapon to master, and a very effective one after one truly learns themselves in it.
If my character didn't have the Elf teach him, he would be using an ax or a spear. Those are simply easier to use and learn than a sword, and at times, more effective.
Or I mean, we should all just use chains to be fighting each other.
Yes! And when kingdoms conscripted soldiers, they gave them all axes due to the fact that it was easy to swing with its unbalanced weight!Right, didn't most medieval foot soldiers use spears because of how easy they were to use?
Hehe, You're fine.Yes! And when kingdoms conscripted soldiers, they gave them all axes due to the fact that it was easy to swing with its unbalanced weight!
Plus, most peasants were already cutting wood, so a familiar fighting style already existed in their conscripts. Why do you think most of the Boyz use hatchets, axes and spears?
Ignore the fact I didn't tell you that and kinda made it up on the fly there.
That's a good idea actually, researching on how to combat with a type of weapon...Hehe, You're fine.
And yeah that's what I thought, I really need to brush up on my medieval knowledge, I wanna RP swordplay well so I've been trying to do some research.
I just think swordplay in general is neat, especially the concept of half swording. That's a good idea actually, researching on how to combat with a type of weapon...
*looks up staff-combat tbh in the mean time*
ALSO nice lore tidbit Exile!
Thank you!German longsword techniques are an essential thing to read if you're considering having your character use a longsword:

Oh don't you worry, I already know everything there is to know about ending someone rightly. If you're going to research anything about swords, this is incredibly important if you're going to try anything.

Whenever I read whatever you type, in my head, i cant stop imagining the generic orc-voice from Skyrim. Oops.If you're going to research anything about swords, this is incredibly important if you're going to try anything.

It's 100% serious, very important for anyone to learn if they want to even be half good with a sword.Ye' sure this isn't a joke article?
