Lotta IC has happened so far, but we're tryin' to keep the heat low for now since this is just the intro.Eheheheheheh...
Don't worry, I'll bring pain and suffering to our enemies soon enough. Just gotta figure out what's happened so far... Has this actually started in the IC yet?

Hey, you're the one who came late, don't be rude.See, that doesn't actually tell me what's happened though. Can I get a side of details with that, please?

By the way, Eleph, Nogoodname, have you guys started naming the Duchies and Estates of the North and Capital?
I haven't even started naming the Southern Duchies and Estates myself!
I have a jagged outline of the duchies I've planned, four precisely, each with their own pros and cons. Just need a good couple of names, actual description, economy, wealth, politics etc.
On the brighter side, I finished the sequel to Traitor's Blade just yesterday, in about two hours — mind you, it was about 190,000 words. Still, the action was much more dynamic, tenfold more tension and politics.
The thing I liked about the author was how he portrayed the action, each extremely significant and life threatening, and always having a dangerous twist to it.
I've finished about a quarter of the sequel's sequel.
Come on guys, I said please! It's impossible to be rude if you have the word "please" in the same sentence!
Anyways, I'm waaaaaaay too lazy and waaaaaaay too snowed under with exam revision and coursework to read anything, so I guess I'll just go back to lurking until I'm not busy... :3
Fucking hell, you read really fast.
While I've been struggling to finish a few chapters of my Reformation book, I've gotten a few ideas on how the heresy in the south will fester. Most people don't really neatly fall into the description of either heretic or... conservative but they're more apathetic. Most simply don't care. The heretics and conservatives who fight each other for religious reasons are only minorities in the population.
And I haven't even thought of the Duchies yet!
I'll start right now.
I really need to read up on how duchies really work. You've got any good book on that? I also need to learn a bit about trade and merchants, roads and government, lands and peasantry. Preferably of the 14-18th century.
Well, fine. Here are some of the characters.
Desh, the dark king, executed a goblin for rape. Got a letter from that Fire King telling him to visit a bar so they could talk. So Desh rides on a Pegasi and heads straight into the Prancing Squig to talk with the Fire King...
Grimgutz, the fire king, does some king business before going into the Prancing Squig.
Emilia, the captain of the Dragon Guard, killed a monster in the wild. Sent to fetch silver in the Fire Kingdom riding a griffin. Currently talking with Desh and Grimgutz.
Jean, the former light king. Couple of flashbacks revealing his backstory, his blackhand friends are Sven and another guy whose name starts with a 'K'. Wants to talk with Grimgutz about a possible alliance.
Walter, a powerful lord of the North. Kills a few orks to get into the fire kingdom, believe or not he's the diplomat. Currently in the process of starting a bar fight.
Hah, no. I've only started reading about mercenaries but when it comes to Duchies? I have no idea how they work either.
For now, let's just focus on naming them and giving a general idea of how they work. Then we can read about medieval economy, towns, cities, and administration later on.
Your a dickLet me elaborate on that:
DESH
A megalomaniac, with a thirst for power and a free will that stretches far beyond the boundaries of free will. His nefarious deeds see no end, and his ill intents blot the face of this world.
GRIMGUTZ & GHAZZY
Grim, a droll king with a heart-wrenching backstory and a callous mind; his mysteries are shadowed by the nature of his kind, though glimpses often seep out. Ghazzy is a soldier, dumb and brutish, who had recently been appointed as the diplomat after a fair drunken bout of the king — he holds his burden, but it steadily threatens to crash down upon him.
WALTER & CO.
A Lord of a despicable past and a blurry stature; the bastard truly seeks resolution, and which is clouded darkly by his inebriated morality and his foul actions.
JEAN & CO.
The former king. Roguish whiner, grotesque murderer; the defeated, exiled and shunned ruler whose struggle with his conscience frequently conflicts with his hateful nature.
EMILIA
A captain of the cabalistic (cannibalistic?) Dragon guard who's known less for her skills in combat and more for her striking beauty — few have, however, survived after undermining her finesse.
