Secret Identity

Tuck knock out the second his eyes close or so he felt. He woke up finding himself sprawled throughout the bed. He chuckled quietly as he saw Lu on the edge of the bed. He was accustumed to sleeping with his dog, not a human. He got out of bed cautiously trying not to wake Lu. He grabbed a towel and went outside to bathe himself in the river nearby.

Lupa mumbled in her sleep as he climbed out of bed. She hadn't slept very well and peeks one eye open watching as he left the cabin, she watches him grab the towel and knew he was headed to the river. She quickly buries herself under the blanket in the middle of the bed and changes into her wolf form. Without Tuck around she felt vulnerable and was ecstatic he granted her the ability to be wolf while he was gone. Not that she felt she had to obey his orders she just never wanted to to upset or disobey him for fear of disappointing him.

A strange man was leaning against the tree near the river in the shadows when Tuck was headed towards the river. He had the same eyes as the wolf from before. His hair was a strange grey and blonde similar to his wolf fur. He was well defined and quite tall. "You can't keep her you know....." he states to get Tuck's attention. He steps out eying Tuck up. "She doesn't belong with humans"

Tuck walked up to the river and splashed his face as he kneeled down. Then he turned when he heard the sound of a man's voice, "Is that so" Tuck drawled. He was just wearing jeans from yesterday and no shirt. Tuck slowly takes off his pants nonchalantly. "Well..." He began to say, "... apparently she's not too good in a pack either." He looked at the man then down at his trousers and back at the man, "Look, I got work & you can stick around and watch me bathe if ya want." Tuck took off his trousers and went into the river. He began to wash himself.

"Humans..." he just mutters under his breath before sighing impatiently. "Lupa's meant to be a pack, whether she's good at it or not. Her father passed away a week ago, and she's technically next in line since she's still alive.... her cousin is ruling the pack now and he's a harebrained little sh*it...." He glances over at Tuck before rolling his eyes. "I don't know why I'm discussing all this with you, Lupa can't stay here. I was hoping you'd cast her out but I suppose I underestimated you.... I don't know what you've done to her or why she's so attached but I'll give you a day to say your goodbyes and then she's coming with me, whether she wants to or not. This "pretend" I'm a pet or "pretend" I'm a human thing of her's has to stop.... she's not a pup anymore.....far from it" He trails off, lost in his own thoughts for a moment. "And she has certain responsibilities to the pack..."

Tuck had his back turned to the man who was speaking to him. He splashed himself, cleaning vital parts of the body. Finally, Tuck agreed with something the man had said, "Yeah, God knows why you're talking to me." He said as he still bathed himself, "This girl gots a mind of her own. I ain't going to manipulate it. I doubt she's gonna want to lead the pack that almost killed her." He shrugged. He stepped out of the river and grabbed his towel and began to dry himself. "Well, I'm off to work. You can chat up with Lu if you think you got a chance." Tuck wasn't worried about Lu. If that dog wanted her to lead, he's more than likely not going to kill her. Tuck jumped around trying to put on his jeans then buttoned up his plaid shirt. Why doesn't the dog just kill the cousin and take over? Tuck thought, rolling his eyes at the silly idea of Lu becoming a leader of a pack that tried to kill her.

"That was her own doing... I didn't want to do that to her but.... well she brought it upon herself attacking me, I cared for the stupid girl and she-" he stops short and just shakes his head. "Fine" he simply says and starts his way up to the cabin. He knocks on the door with a Lupa holding a knife opening it, they never got visitors.

"What do you want? To taunt me some more?" She asks not putting the knife down. "I figured you'd want back, now what do you actually want?"

"Lupa please... I'm sorry about earlier, I just thought, well it doesn't matter what thought, but the pack needs you...."

"Hah! that's the funniest thing I've heard in years. Like I'd ever go back, so you can leave now" she states glaring at him angerly.

"Your father passed away last week Lupa, I'm on the run because I couldn't stand to be in that pack any longer not with Fenrir alpha now, if I challenged him the pack would turn on me since I'm originally an outsider....but now that I found you alive you can come back and you'll have alpha status, like it was always supposed to be. I'm sorry I didn't know you were omega because of something your mother did.... I didn't mean to attack you that day, I have regretted it ever since.... but you took advantage of my friendship, we were in nearly the same position. I cared for you"

"You would have let me win that day if you truly cared, I still have the scars you know... and Fenrir? Why would the pack allow him? He's...not stable" She sighs and rubs her forehead.

"Even if I had let you win, your father wouldn't let you improve your rank, you know that.... he was testing me that day, if I failed I would have been killed and you left in the same status.... and because Fenrir is technically next in line, you have no other siblings, your father refused.... but if you came back you could change the pack for the better... we could change the pack for the better...."

"So I was "killed" so you could have a true place in the pack.... nice... and no I'm not coming back, the pack deserves it for being cowards, for not standing up for me... I was his daughter and he and all the rest of them just let you tear me apart!"

"Then let's make our own pack Lupa... I am truly sorry, I was stupid and I was tired of being treated like the outsider... I valued your friendship more than anything but you hurt me when you attacked me that day, I was naive and hurt....I can't stand to see you living with this human.... it's degrading Lupa, you're more than this" He states, reaching up to touch her face.

Lupa had had just about enough, she pushed him back and changed into her wolf form, growling at him. "How dare you insult me and expect me to just run off with you?! I am staying here! Tuck needs me and I need him."

Kenai backs up and changes into his wolf form, growling back defensively. "You're acting ridiculous! He'll never understand what you are! You will never be who you truly are with him! I'll be around if you change your mind... and you will change your mind.... I'll make sure of that..."

Lupa just snarls and barrels into him watching him turn tail and run off back into the woods. She huffs in a "good riddance" sort of way before her posture relaxes and she sighs. She changes back into a human and goes back inside, closing the door and leans against it, trying to sort all the information just given to her out. "Why couldn't he just let things be?.... I was happy, Tuck was happy, it was perfect and now.... it's all messed up....."

Tuck arrived at a construction site. He was greeted by familiar faces then assigned his role. The parking lot's structure was finished. Now, they're just putting the finishing touches. Tuck and a colleague of his were assigned to place parking blocks throughout the first floor. The blocks weren't heavy, but the length of it was awkward to hold for one person. One by one, Tuck and his partner lifted the blocks of cement and placed them at the tip of each parking space. They chatted to pass time. "How's ye dog, Onixa? I see ye didn't bring 'er in today." Tuck sighed, "I'm not taking Onixa to work anymore." His partners eyes went wide, "What?! Ye guys were like peas in a pod!" Tuck nodded in agreement, "Things are changing at home. Gotta leave her there." His partner only nodded and didn't dare to ask what changes occurred; he knew it was none of his damn business. "How's yer good ol' cabin? Survived the winter?" Tuck let out a laugh. He was glad his co-worker changed the subject, "Barely, Billy. Barely." Tuck admitted, "If it weren't for my sheep herdin' job and the gift the owner gave me, I would of froze to death." Billy was a burly man with freckles and long blonde surfer-dude like hair. Billy shook his head as his hair flapped about, "I dunno how ye do it, Tuck. I dunno." Tuck and Billy continued chatting until they filled every parking space with a parking block. "Whew!" Billy said relieved the job was finished. "Ye and Onixa better take care!" Billy said as he waved good bye, "You too, Billy. Take care of that wife of yours." Billy only laughed in response as he walked away.

Tuck was driving on his way home. It was only a matter of minutes that he would be parking on the dirt path by his cabin. Tuck was thinking of ideas to entertain Lu while he was gone. He was thinking of taking her shopping for gardening supplies and she can decorate the path of their home. he personally, liked the idea. He thought it would be nice to see a few feminine touches when he comes home. He was also thinking of getting her a journal. He thought she might like dotting down her thoughts and such while he was gone or even draw in the book if she was into that. He doubted the drawing part. Tuck mind drew a blank when he arrived home. He ran out of hobby ideas for Lu. He was sure she might of thought of few while he was gone. Now, all Tuck was thinking about was the beautiful woman in his house who probably cooked for him. He stepped out of his car with a smile. He couldn't wait to see his girl running out of the door just to see him.

Lupa looks up from her cooking when she heard his truck. She had managed to snag a couple of pheasants and opens the door just as he went to reach for it and hugs him around his neck before he could even get completely through. "I missed you! Oh! And I made pheasant, you have no idea how hard they were to get a hold of but! I still got them" She says proudly, finally letting him completely through the door and went back to her cooking. She wasn't sure why she missed him so much, probably because she didn't get to go to work with him anymore and Kenai's words were eating at her thoughts so she was glad to have a distraction from herself. "I'm almost done, another five to ten minutes and it'll be ready, I was trying to have it done by the time you got home but it took longer than I thought to pluck them" She had her hair up with a dogwood flower, biting her lip in concentration as she cooked the rice to go with the pheasant, it wasn't hard work cooking but she was so worried about burning everything.

Tuck was caught of guard when Lu embraced him. He wasn't even completely out of the car. He kissed her forehead and laughed. He was about to ask if she missed him, but she blurted out the answer without having him to ask. "Pheasant? Impressive." He said with a nod as Lu released him. She quickly went off back to the kitchen. Tuck was surprised it wasn't done already. She must have spent a lot of her time chasing down those pheasants. Perhaps, hunting difficult prey could be one of her hobbies. It must be time consuming. When Tuck entered the front door of his home, Lu informed him of the time and reasons she didn't have the food ready. "Is that all you did when I was gone? Chasing pheasants?" He laughed at the idea.

"Chasing pheasants is hard work! Flushing them out is one thing but doing that and grabbing them is hard. I got lucky with the first one and we couldn't have just one so it took me a good three hours to get the second one. Plus plucking them isn't simple either. So you best be grateful" she says pointing her spoon in his direction. She had decided not to mention her discussion with Kenai, she wasn't going anywhere so no reason to bring it up. She starts fixing two plates, setting his down in front of him and then sitting down with her own.

Tuck slapped his forehead, "I ain't teasing ya. I just thought you'd be thinking of some hobbies while I'm gone from work. You can't be chasing pheasants every time I'm gone." He sat down in his chair and began to pick at his food. The pheasant was pleasant, but the rice needed a little more work, "Mmm.. good." He partially lied. He was considering to tell her the truth o not. He shrugged and continued eating. It was edible and that was all that mattered to him. "I was thinkin' to get ya into gardening or journal writing."

"I definitely wouldn't want to be chasing pheasants all the time" she says before looking up at him grinning, since she realized he had been thinking about her. "I would love that!" She says happily, already thinking of some landscaping ideas. She takes a bite of her food and frowns a little. "Rice is definitely not my forte... sorry" she says and continues eating her dinner. "So how did work go?" She asks, missing the guy talk and just hanging around Tuck.

Tuck was confused, "You would love both Gardening and journaling?" He scratched his head. When Lu admitted that her rice wasn't good he gave her some advice, "For every cup of rice ya need 2 cups of water." Tuck laughed, "Work was same old, same old. They just keep asking about ya." Tuck finished his plate. He began picking at the little grains of rice left. He hated the idea of wasting food. Even if it was a little grain, "You remember Billy, long, shady blonde hair? I was working with him today at the construction site. He wouldn't shut up about ya!" He shook his head as he remembered how annoying his partner was today.

"Well... I'm more excited that you were thinking about me rather than your choice of hobbies. Though I wouldn't mind gardening I might need a book to learn the exacts and a journal being around might be a good thing. Sort out my thoughts for once" she says and nods taking note about his advice on the rice before beaming that Billy had asked about her."I hate to say but I kind of miss that guy " she says before laughing.

Once Tuck finished picking off all the food that was left on his plate, he stood up and placed it in the sink. "You know, Lu. If you were to meet them again you'd be a stranger, so when that day comes... try not to act like you know 'em..." He washed his hands and face in the sink and dried himself with a towel. "The day is still young. Wanna go shoppin?" he turned to look at her as he asked the question.

"I know so I'll have to come up with a story of how we met. .." she looks at him as he asks to go shopping. She wasn't sure about going in town, sure she went before and got looks because of the fact she was a wolf walking next to Tuck but wasn't sure about it in her human form but she eventually nods. "Yes. Shopping is probably a good idea, I'd like to get a cookbook too maybe since I'm guessing at what I'm doing"

Tuck snapped his fingers, "Good call... I don't know why I didn't think of that." He went up to Lu and hugged her, "Do werewolves go to school or something 'cause you're pretty darn smart?" He kissed her forehead and grabbed his keys to his truck beside her, "No sticking your head out the window... Only dogs do that."

Lupa smiles when he hugs her and kisses her forehead, all warm and fuzzy from it. She frowns at the "no sticking her head out the window". "Fiiine..." she says with a pout before getting up to her feet and putting her dishes in the sink. She makes her way outside to the truck with him, waiting for him to open the door out of habit before realizing she could open it herself. She laughs a little at herself before opening the passenger door and getting in. "Maybe you can say I was a lost hiker from the next town over or something, if people ask. And it shouldn't be a problem giving my real name since everyone else thinks of me as Onixa.... I liked that name by the way....Though honestly, I think you could've called me anything and I would've still stayed by your side" She says, blushing a little, when he was in the truck as well. (I love you guinea pig btw ^_^ . I used to have 7 at one time..... long story short my friend gave me one she said was a female and I got another female as a companion and yeaaah my friend's ended up being a male. Now I have 2 ferrets, a hedgehog, 2 dogs and 7 cats....)

Tuck started the engine, "Ya know that gentlemen open the doors for ladies as well." Tuck stated in a matter of fact tone. He began to reverse onto the dirt path, "Hey, do wolves go to school, seriously?" He asked curiously. He shifted his truck to drive and went south on the pavement past the dirt road.

She smiles. "Well then I suppose I should have let you open it anyways. And we're mostly "home" schooled but there are several packs that live in towns and cities, so yes, if they want to they can go to school" She states, looking over at him before looking out the window, watching the scenery go by.

Tuck turned on the radio. Good ol' country music filled the car. It was one of Tuck's favorite songs. He began to sang along with the chorus,

"Take your records, take your freedom, take your memories. I don't need 'em. Take your space and all your reasons, but you'll think of me. Take your cat and leave my sweater. We have nothing left to weather. In fact, I feel a whole lot better, but you'll think of me."

Finally, they drove past the horde of trees and buildings and homes began to appear more frequently. "Here we go," he drawled as he turned his wheel to make a right at the street light. "Good ol' Walmart. Has just about everything." He got out of the car and hurriedly opened the door for Lu, "See..." He said a bit out of breath, "... a gentleman." He helped her down the truck, "You can finally come with me inside stores, like these, now." He smiled. Now, he could flaunt his... He stopped to at look at her, "We need to get ya some clothes of your own." Ofelia's clothes was just slightly big on Lu, but he likes his women to wear fitted clothes. This was going to be fun, playing dress up with Lu.

Lupa hummed along with the song, hearing it plenty of times in her wolf form, rather enjoying the song herself. She smiles as Tuck helps her out of the truck. "Well aren't I just the luckiest gal?" she states, having picking up some of his words from being around him the past few years. She looks over at the store before back at Tuck when they said she would be getting new clothes and grinned ear to ear. She didn't mind wearing Ofelia's clothes but.... they were Ofelia's clothes and she couldn't help feel a little strange wearing them, hoping they didn't bring up any bittersweet memories to Tuck. She takes Tuck's hand in her's, excited to go inside since she never had been before.

Tuck laughed at Lu emulation of his accent, "Darn right you are." He softly tapped Lu's chin with his free-hand's knuckles and gladly accepted Lu's hand into his. They walk into Walmart's main entrance. The lights within the store were brighter than broad daylight. Tuck walked past the silly knick-knacks at the front of the store and went straight to the kitchen area past the clothing section for women, "We're goin' to save the best for last." Several books were lined up on a shelf. "Go ahead take your pick. Next is the gardening section, then clothes." He paused. "On second thought, best we get your clothes before the gardening supplies." He figured the gardening supplies would be a hassle to roll around in a cart throughout the store.

Tuck had to tug her along every now and then when she would see some weird little knick-knack or brightly colored item that she had paused to look at. She watches the clothing section pass before looking at the books when they had stopped. She walked up to them reading their titles before grabbing one on "The Basics of Gardening", and two cookbooks; one with generic recipes and a baking one. She places the books in the cart before looking at him. "I think those should do for now"

Tuck nodded as he looked at the books she placed into the cart, "Okay, now the fun part!" Walmart's clothing selection was pretty basic. Tuck actually liked the clothing sold for women at Bass Pro Shop better. The store had more of an adventurous look for women. "Eh... I don't wanna be a dictator..." He shrugged, gesturing for Lu to pick what she wants. He actually wanted to just grabbed some female cargos & tanks with khakis, greens, beiges, browns, camouflages designs and all. He liked natural colors, but if Lu likes other stuff, which she probably does, he shouldn't dictate her style unless it is plain ol' ugly.
