1ne.jpgTo think that the most important day of her life would seem as out of focus as all the others.

Rhonnda took a moment, adjusting her eyes to the morning sunshine that spilled through her uncovered windows before shifting onto the side of her bed, slowly stretching out her arms and legs in an attempt to make herself more energized. Art was one of the few things she didn't have trouble finding motivation for however the process of getting out of bed, having breakfast and heading to school was still something that tired her to no end.

Her bare feet paced the room as she gathered up her clothes for the day and laid them on her desk which was riddled with post-it notes, watercolor sets and paint brushes. She had grown quite accustomed to having her room in a disorganized state and none of her family members seemed to mind it however that would likely not be the case if she were to ever invite anyone over. Realizing the embarrassment would be a good motivator to clean her room she quickly grabbed a nearby pencil and a post-it note and rapidly scribbled 'CLEAN ROOM' before sticking it to the side of her desk.

After a cold, quick shower Rhonnda was now dressed in a pair of jeans, a loose shirt and sneakers. Simple and comfortable was her primary goal, although she knew the students in the famous fashion department would probably not agree.

Finally, she closed the door to the bathroom and jumped down the few set of stairs, lastly making her way to the door. She was halfway outside when she was stopped by a loud voice coming from the kitchen: her mother, who was in the middle of making some coffee. She closed the door before sliding her backpack off her shoulders and dropping it to the ground with a small thud. Rhonnda walked towards her mother "Sorry, I was kind of in a rush," the girl said, sheepishly. Her mother smiled, "I'm glad you're excited about this but at the very least get yourself some cereal." Immediately Rhonnda pulled out a box of cheerios and, seeing as there was no alternative, brought out some chocolate milk to add in. Her meal was quickly served but before she began eating she snuck some of the coffee her mother had been preparing to her mug. After a balanced breakfast and a small conversation with her mother about the new school Rhonnda was ready to get on her way once again.

Once she arrived at the academy she was once again overblown by how big the structure was. It always took her a moment to recollect herself and act cool but, could anyone blame her? She hadn't come from a struggling family but she had never gone to school quite as prestigious as Matthew Academy. This meant she couldn't afford to be lazy or unprepared. For this same reason, she'd already figured out the schedule ahead of time. All the new students regardless of their departments were to be gathered at the entrance and meet the student body president who'd give them a tour of the whole place. It just so happened Rhonnda was dating this student body president so in some aspects she had the upper hand. While she waited she scrambled for her phone in her backpack and sent a text to Leilani. They'd hung out a few times before school started but now being in the same school would just give them more time to be together. Another thing to look forward to this year.

"Come on, bro! Wake up!" Christa shouted at her older brother, who was still in his bed. Aaron waved his arms around in attempt to hit his sister. He groans. "Five more minutes..." he says in the typical tired voice before attempting to go back to sleep. "Aaron..." Christa would say in a whiny voice as he shook him back and forth. "Alright. Alright. I'm up. I'm up." Aaron sits up in his bed and looks at his sister with tired eyes. She was wearing a navy blue shirt with jeans to match, her blonde hair down. Aaron stands up from his bed and stretches, before placing his palm on Christa's head and ruffling her hair. "Hey!" she yells as she pushes his arm away. "I'm not some little kid you know." "You're my little sis. I see no difference." As he says this a slight smirk forms on his face. "By one year!" Christa retorts. "Just get ready. I'll be waiting downstairs." She says before exiting the room. Aaron walks over to his closet. He pulls out a burgundy polo shirt, black jeans, and a pair of black socks before heading into the bathroom to take a shower.

Christa sat downstairs eating her breakfast while at the same time writing away at her notebook and listening to music on her phone. Aaron came down the stairs a few minutes later, dressed in his clothes, his shirt tucked in. He sat down across next to Christa and started eating his breakfast. They ate in silence for a few minutes until they got up to leave. "Bye kids, be safe at school." Their mom said to them as they made their way to the door. "Oh, and Aaron." She said just as Aaron was about to head out the door. He stopped in his tracks and looked at her. "Take care of your sister." "I will, mom. Bye."

"You ready for your first day of school, sis?" "Yep! What's it like there? How are the people there? What does the school look like?" Aaron chucked. "You'll find out for yourself." As they approached the school, they saw a crowd at the entrance. "What's going on over there?" "Orientation. Let's go!" Aaron said to his sister as they both jogged the remainder of the distance to the school to join the crowd.
