Saga of the Seven Sins - The Second Cycle

Well, you can compare it to the absolutely ridiculous Forgotten Blade in Oadendol's Codex. Every box of damage it does takes away an entire Ability and five years of memory. Permanently in the case of the latter, until the damage is healed for the former. 5 dot artefacts do really absurd things.


By comparison I have to commit 4m for each memory/thought/perception I want to deny my opponent, and it's primarily replicating an Essence 4 Charm from Quicksilver Hand of Dreams Style.

And Random, I guess it will be okay, although I have no idea how social combat is supposed to work in Exalted.
 
Shit, I wasn't getting Alerts about the IC part! They work really weirdly with tabbed threads like this...
 
I also don't know if it's broken - Social Combat is a complicated mess. If it turns out to be too powerful, we'll retcon and revise it to be different. Don't hesitate to tell me if you don't like what it does. I think it will be fun, though. Pickpocketing thoughts is a very cool power, and very Opal.
 
I swear, Opal was totally going to let it lie for a moment so we could get to the Arena, but then Darian interjected. She can't resist the impulse to be around Darian and she can't admit it so it's inevitable she's going to pick a fight. I don't mind if Viktor prises me off her, but logically she would have time to react first - unless Viktor saw it coming and intervened, which is also possible.


I feel bad about holding the plot up, though. Maybe I should rein it in.

SEEKER: good question in the IC thread. What do I know about the casino? Is there a roll of some sort, or just what I'd know from being a local and high-roller?
 
You know the basics, and other than the fact that it has grown much bigger it hasn't changed that much over the years. They only let the people who look wealthy and have enough coin to spare in.


 
And Viktor, I believe it's ability + characteristic, unless I'm remembering wrong.
 
Huhm. That's... very shiny indeed, yes... I think I could manage a dice pool of 9-18, if it's based on Dexterity, but I'd probably be better off aiding Opal, if such a thing can be done without being obvious about it.
 
Opal could steal it from around his neck and he wouldn't even notice. Given an hour or so she could replace it with a perfect fake. She doesn't know Viktor wants it, though, so she isn't going to steal it. If Viktor even hints that it would mildly amuse him to possess it, it'll be in his hands in thirty seconds ( :P ).
 
Hmmm...I'm conflicted. Yes, that'd be amusing, but I'd almost rather win it from him, or put him in a position where he has to sell it...

Haha, I imagine Lion Mouse Stratagem might make Viktor underestimate how useful you might be and dismiss your aid ( :P ).
 
Also given my essence sight, do I also notice any info on the amulet of the rich guy, or any info regarding magic use, essence levels, etc? Do you need me to roll anything? And lastly, is there a room where the staff of the casino comes and goes, probably to count the money?
 
Once I have a target, my plan is to cause a big scene and just possess the guy with artifact in the chaos. It's stupidly easy to do with this build.
 
It may or may not be the one we're after, but I wants the shiny anyway. (> :) )

Haha, fuck that mortal. My Essence 6 Celestial Exalt showed him. Unless he still wins, in which case Darian's goading will almost certainly lead to her flipping the table in rage. If she wins, though, she's going to be so smug when she flips Darian off. Completely inappropriately, as I'm sure Darian will be quick to point out. That thing had better be a 5 dot Artefact, whatever it is.
 
I hate to say it, but I hope Opal loses bad. It would be so much funnier if that happens.
