Curve stood before Ozpin, his arms crossed, his everpresent unamused glare plastered across his face. "Curve, it hasn't even been twenty four hours, yet I find you in my office again. This time you actually did something." "I did something last time." Curve growled, shifting his weight to the other foot. A look of confusion crossed Ozpins face. "You wanted the person who beat up the other team. I didn't do that. I broke one of their fingers." Ozpin sighed and laced his fingers together over his desk. "You're telling me to discipline you for that as well?" "No," Curve replied, "Nor can you. Given the fight that ensued afterwards, it's miraculous none of them broke a limb. Any injuries the students have were automatically assumed to be inflicted by Sward. Seeing as Sward was forgiven, and now lies hospitalized himself for more serious matters, you cannot force disciplinary measures on either of us for that incident." Curve inspected the calloused knuckles on one of his hands. He may be a thug, and he may have a temper, but he'd read the book, and the law. He was clear.
Ozpin shook his head. The kid had a point. But the rules were rules, and Curve had broken them. "Well Curve, physically assaulting another student is a pretty serious offense. There will be reprocussions." Curve stopped inspecting his fist and ran a hand through his hair. "Well Ozpin," Curve mocked his tone of voice, "Hurting one of my men is a pretty serious offence. There were reprocussions." "Enough. My academy is not the streets of Vacuo. You cannot fight anyone you like for any reason you like. I and the other teachers are in charge and our authority needs to be respected." Curve slammed his fist down on the table. "NO!" Curve's tattoos glowed dimly, "You are right, figting my fellow students is wrong. But under this circumstance, it was neccissary. You have appointed an incompitent leader, who has only moderate combat ability, who has no reguard for others safety! Sward was wounded! I refuse to cooperate when my safety, my teams safety, and all of beacons safety is jeapordized by one weak link!"
Ozpin sighed, wiping off his glasses and leaning back in his chair. "I understand your frustration. But Curve, tell me this. Have you ever done anything that led to the death of someone you cared about?" Curve cracked his knuckles on one hand before answering. "No." Ozpin rubbed his temples. "Are you lying?" "Am I?" Curve raised his eyebrows abrasively. Ozpin held Curve's dark gaze for a few seconds before he replied. He didn't break eye contact, although he wished he could. "Well that time will come. And when it does, you need to be prepared. Locke knows what it feels like. And the reason he's the team leader isn't because I was too busy to make a new team, it's because he is supposed to teach you some level of empathy. Curve snorted. Empathy. A fools emotion. There was no room for empathy in his life, not with his career. "Now I understand that this must be foreign to you. But having a student like you is also foreign to me. But judging by your encounter in the woods today, you know know just as much as I do about the 'situation' you described in Veil." Curve gritted his teeth. At that moment, his phone decided to ring. Ozpin motioned for him to pick it up. Curve answered it and stuck it up to his ear. "Boss, we're here. We made it." Curve nodded. "Mmmhmm. I trust we'll meet later tonight? There's much to discuss." "Gotchya boss. Seeya then." Curve hung up. "One of your friends? Ozpin asked innocently. Curve did not respond. "Curve, I hope you realize that I can find it out on my own wether you like it or not." . "You can try," Curve growled, "But. One thing I know, is that there are organized grim. Organized, fucking, grim. And if you won't, or can't do anything about it, I will. As soon as possible. Before it becomes a problem." Ozpin shrugged. "Or you could be forbidden from leaving the school. Curve turned on his heel and claBmp-ed his way out of the office. "Just try and stop me. I dare you." Curve left the door open on his way out.
