Cerise Partisan has three different functionalities beyond simply shooting, slicing, or bashing.
The Blade Drive attacks involve making his blade stronger or launching slicing projectiles capable of cutting through objects or Grimm so long as armored plating doesn't get in the way.
The Gun Drive attacks involve launching stronger shots for varied effects.
The Dust Drive attacks involve using multiple dust types for larger or more damaging attacks than the other drive attacks alone could accomplish. Dust Drive attacks are also possible with any article of clothing woven with Dust Fibers.
Sometime during the first year Carmine will also be upgrading Cerise Partisan with specific Dust-Infused rings that will be added to the inside of Cerise Partisan to run along the length of the inside of the cane, along with conduits for gather Dust Energy at the tip in the amounts needed depending on the drive attacks being used.
It's probably already painfully obvious, but I never stop with just the creation of a character and that character's weapon. There's always something that can be improved or added to in a way that makes the character stronger or better in some way, whether its with his equipment or himself, and while there are things I have to decide to leave for later, it gives me something to look forward to as my character improves.
