RWBY: Old Rites (In Character)

Zion Waters

Zion sighed loudly as he heard someone speak to him, or rather yell at him. Yona returned to his normal state and slowly turned around to face one of the girls with the white hair. Zion was about to stop him but Yona walked up cautiously to them, examining the girl with the metal tail. Zion looked behind himself nervously, hoping that no one would view him as a threat. They didn't exactly look like the nicest creatures. Zion looked up towards the girl that spoke to him and kept his mouth shut, examining her with interest. Cobra would like her... to bad he's not here Zion said happy smirking towards himself. The look vanished quickly as Yona crawled toward the girl with the tail and began sniffing her with interest. Zion uncrossed his legs and leaned back, against the wall preparing to answer the question. "It's my semblance" was all Zion managed to get out before Yona started growling towards the girl with the tail. Zion snapped his fingers and Yona whimpered, almost like a dog and retreated to lay down in front of the girl covered in red stripes. Zion shifted his glance quickly to the girl with the tail with caution. Why would he get so aggressive? Zion turned to face the two girls and pointed at the guy she was sitting beside.

"You guys having fun there?' he said as he grabbed his spear and placed it to the right of him.

For the time being Alani was content to munch on her snack, looking about from her seated vantage point at the other young souls who were wanting to become students as well. 'So many souls here, so many different people with different origins, lives, personalities, and quirks.' The thought brought a faint smile to the redhead's lips as she popped the last of her sweet roll into her mouth and rose to stand, looking out of the viewing window behind her at the academy now growing closer. Butterflies welled up in her stomach at the rush of excitement and nervousness from the thoughts of what was to come and what her future held for her. Drawing a soft breath to calm her nerves, the wolfen faunus zipped up her rucksack and slung it over her shoulder before soon walked from the airship after it docked along with the many other young souls aboard, her eye looking about in animated swiftness as the environment around her. So many other students of varying years already there training, learning, and growing to attain the venerable title of hunter or huntress. A soft grin upon her lips at the wonderful reality of her dream surrounding her, Alani followed the rest of the group from the airship toward the auditorium, but what she saw she was hardly expecting.

As soon as Alani entered the interior of the auditorium the sight of the many other students of beacon dressed in what appeared to be their very best struck her as a bit odd. She'd figured the initial introduction of the new students to beacon was an occasion for all to attend, but the style of dress seemed a bit extreme. It was then that Alani's attention shifted to the gleaming, armored figures surrounding the central stage. Eyes going wide somewhat, the faunus felt herself gasp faintly at the stoic figures and their both intimidating and brilliant forms as they stood motionless like stoic metal statues. If it weren't for the occasional breath and faintest of movement from the armor clad figures Alani would have outright thought them as true statues. Managing to get to a seat, Alani watched the scene before her as the academy headmaster soon made his presence known, lights dimming somewhat, as his voice filled the air. The words could be considered harsh, but they were more than likely true about all the new years who had arrived. Alani had the eagerness to begin, but what could she do with that boisterous energy if she couldn't properly focus and hone it to develop herself? The faunus' thoughts soon were interrupted as the headmaster's speech was shifted to an introduction, and upon seeing the guest who earned said introduction Alani's eye windened slightly. The knights were one thing, but upon seeing the outright queenly figure that stepped forth, flanked by two even more grandly armored figures, Alani's mind wandered to the tales of the distant past that her mother and father used to tell her when she was a little girl,. However, her awe swiftly became replaced with wariness and skepticism. Why in the heck would a queen, a queen, travel all this way from her own lands just to see and observe the structuring and methods of another academy even though beacon was certainly the prestigious academy its reputation garnered? Surely this woman had more resources and contacts than one could count and would hardly have any difficulty sending out representatives in her stead to gather such information without her needing to enter a foreign land. Even with the impressive entourage of armor clad guards and those kind warm words, Alani's stomach knotted in uncertainty as the queen finished her speech, soon leaving along with her personal guard, the larger armored group filing out with near machine-like synchronization.

A frown curled Alani's lips down slightly as the auditorium was steadily emptied of its foreign guests, leaving the students to leave the building and go about their business as usual. Alani was quite simply a little too eager to get started with classes as she left the auditorium, her mind swimming with questions and curiosities as to what she'd be doing at beacon, but the immediate matter of her first getting situated at the academy soon took precedence. As she rose from her seat, the faunus caught sight of a faintly familiar face, a first year from the airship. She didn't recall him interacting that much with the others, but Alani figured she'd best get to know those of her fellow first years as they'd likely be seeing a lot of one another. Approaching the black haired youth, Alani gently tapped Grey upon the shoulder as the academy auditorium slowly emptied. "Hey there, I recall you from the airship, figured I'd come and say a friendly hi. The name's Alani Kahtom, mind some company while getting to know the rest of the academy?" She'd ask with a friendly tone, lips curved into a gentle smile as she waited for a response from the brunette.

Joshua was about to make a retort to his pecs being compared to beers, when all of a sudden someone over in the distance drew Igna's attention. A black ball with 3 tails was suddenly summoned drawing her attention and questioning. When the man said it was his semblance, Joshua raised an eyebrow before he was asked if he was suddenly having fun. "I don't know what your definition of fun is, but we were talking and then I'm being compared to a piece of meat, even though I'm much smarter than that."

Varien let out a small sigh as the girl walked away. As he took his seat to begin reading again, the airship landed and the doors opened, allowing the students to flood out. Varien wasted no time in making his way to the auditorium. The knights that were surrounding the place set him on edge slightly, but he remained calm throughout the entirety of Ozpin's speech. Then the Queen of that secluded island strode forwards. He knew that he had never met the woman personally, but she seemed so very familiar for some odd reason. Regardless, it wasn't something to worry about, maybe it was just a fading memory from some stray dream.

There were bigger questions that needed to be answered however. The secluded kingdom of Abarat never accepted help from the other kingdoms nor seemed to ever leave their own. So, why was she here? There had to be more to the story than 'trade and culture'. Letting out a sigh, he followed the students as they left the building to do whatever they wanted. Instead of choosing to go and socialize, he stayed true to his reclusive ways and sat on a bench near the statue before beginning to read his book once again. However hard he tried, his mind always drifted back to that woman. Why now of all times does she decide to pay a visit? And with legions of knights nonetheless.

"Tch... Yer pet has quite the attitude." Ignacia crossed her arms, sitting cross legged on the mattress. "Havin' fun? I ain't gonna have fun til I incinerate something." She raised her hand, igniting a tiny blue flame, flickering around in her palm, moving sporadically in a circle. The blue light glinted in the pupil of her eye. "I hope we get to fight somethin' tomorrow.

Mocha glared at her, "Stop that." she then lied down on her mattress, on the other side of Mocha's. "We're both gonna sleep now. It's recommended we get a plentiful amount of sleep to run our equipment." Mocha gestured to her legs and Agnes pointed at her tail. "See you all in the morning." Mocha smiled.

Ignacia closed her hand, white smoke emitted from her palm as the flame extinguished. "Suit yerselves." She looked to Joshua, "So, what do you do? Like what's yer semblance lad?"

Joshua stretched his arms behind his back resting his left hand behind his head while letting his right stretch upwards. He arched his back with a slight groan before he spoke, "My semblance? I mean, it's nothing as flashy as what you've shown me or what he just did, but," Suddenly, a light blue shield formed on Joshua's left arm, "this is my semblance. Ya know, with my hammer and semblance, people have mistaken me for a knight at times."

“Ah, ‘Charge of the Hardy Hunters’? My, that is one of the Shi—‘their’ oldest poems. If you liked that one, I believe you would enjoy some of their Great War poems, though they are some of the more tragic poems. Have you read ‘Colors of Winter’? Most mistake the poem to be literal, however, it's a lot more symbolic if you know of the events that happened around its creation.” Ryuuko laughed a little, amused at Lyrika’s enthusiasm. It was pleasant that the Shiroganes were recognized for their poems for once. Whenever someone knew about their family inn, Ryuuko felt like a tour-guide. Explaining all of the things the famous inn had was tiring, and even more so since she knew about everything the place had. Sometimes she would even have to tell them what they served there. If the person knew them for their fighting skills, they would either challenge her or her cousin. Either way, that duel ended swiftly.  “I am surprised that they meant so much to you. Actually, I find it refreshing that someone mentioned their poetry. Generally, most bring up their combat ability or their inn. I am sure that your performance of ‘Charge of the Hardy Hunters’ was fine. I believe the archaic use of language simply made it difficult to understand for the general populace. Although there is a modernized version of said poem, it does not flow as well and I much prefer the original.”

Ignacia giggled, "A knight? Ye look more like a barbarian!" She brought her knee up and slapped it as she laughed. "What knight has a hammer? All my storybooks showed the knights holding swords n stuff. Bladed things." She fell back onto her mattress in her fit of laughter, "ne'er have I seen a knight 'bludgeoning' a dragon to death." Slowly calming down, she propped herself up on her hands, shifting her attention to the student with the summoning semblance. "So what's yer name?" She pointed at him.

@Clockwork Syringe @Brook

Lyrika lit up as she heard Ryuuko's words. She didn't mind her poetry spiel? She actually appreciated the Shirogane's legacy as poets? Even Lyrika's own friends tended to glaze over when she started talking about this. But she had just met someone that actually cared to discuss it. Lyrika had to contain her excitement; it wouldn't do to end up gushing harder only to weird her out. She would have to compose herself and have a regular discussion. "Oh yes, I know a great many of the works of...them. I wasn't aware of any stories around the creation of "Colors of Winter", however. I would absolutely love to hear the tale."

She wasn't sure if Ryuuko was simply being polite in telling her she likely did no wrong in her performance, but she appreciated the sentiment nonetheless. She had been bracing herself to see Ryuuko lose interest or even scoff at her, but she had been nothing but pleasant so far. "It is kind of you to say that. Though I must admit, it would make me somewhat saddened to learn that they just couldn't appreciate classical language. It is something of a shame when great works must be altered to suit new sensibilities." Even though the alternative was to think that she had done a poor job, she had to admit she preferred to think people could appreciate a good piece of poetry if it was performed well. She had a feeling Ryuuko was right, however.

"Ah, but don't let me hog the discussion with my own passions; you must have your own interests beyond this. Do tell." Although Lyrika was still keen to carry on discussing poetry, she thought it would be beyond rude to not at least offer Ryuuko the chance to discuss something of her own choosing.

Grau Kohlrabenschwarz

Grau stepped off the airship, setting the book down where he had found it.  He had spent the ride in silence, not talking to anyone else.  Perhaps he had come off as selfish or stuck-up, but in truth, he was just a little spooked by all the commotion that had occurred on board.  His classmates had seemed as excitable and rambunctious as his father had warned him they'd be, if not worse.  Maybe I'll learn to make some friends here, after all, I- he paused, seeing the rows of knights standing at attention by the entrance of Beacon.  Frowning, he stepped forward, making his way towards the academy's entrance along with all the other students.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He listened to the words of Ozpin and the Queen of that foreign land, Abarat.  Many considered the Kohlrabenschwarz family to be backwards in attitude and behavior, but they were nothing compared to Abarat, who had, for centuries, refused technological advance in favor of their gallant chivalry.  In part, the Kohlrabenschwarz line respected them for it, but mocked them as well.  The old Kohlrabenschwarz weapons were just as good as they were over a century ago, but Abarat was even farther behind, and its methods of war were of limited use against Grimm.  In short, he cared little for the queen's speech, viewing it only as the queen's attempt to finally rejoin the world.  He was only at the Academy to train, not to worry of international politics.

Afterwards, he found himself a sleeping bag in the corner, before he sat down near it, pulling another book from his bag, opening it up and beginning to read, not paying much attention to anyone else.  He didn't want to introduce himself as a Kohlrabenschwarz yet, as he was unsure of how they'd react, especially the Faunus.

Koamaru sat in his meditative state for a while, resting himself and taking in information like a sponge. After some time had passed, he decided that he had rested enough. Being between sleep and consciousness was fine but it was more than boring in the long term.

With his eyes slowly opening, he took a deep breath. People were still milling about and refusing to sleep for the moment. Joining them seemed to be a decent course of action. However, he had one thing to tend to first.

He hadn't seen Gaucho since being on the airship. He had no doubt that Gaucho was safe and sound, as always. Sometimes that dog could be smarter than a lot of people. Additionally, no matter how far Gaucho seemed to be, one thing always brought him back home. A simple whistled tune with no real rhyme or reason usually brought him running home after a few notes.

So Koamaru set out whistling just that tune. Most people probably wouldn't hear it past a few feet, but Gaucho would. He always did. After a few relaxed notes, he heard a small commotion to his right. A few more notes and he saw Gaucho hurdling over several sleeping students and landing with a slide. Gaucho's short legs picked up speed again quickly and carried him forward into the waiting lap of his partner.

"Now what kind of trouble did you get up to?" Koamaru tussled the ears of his canine companion with on hand offered a treat from the inside of his jacket. Gaucho had never turned down a treat before and certainly didn't now. "Was it really neccesary to jump over those students?" Gaucho tilted his head to the right slightly and let out a look and playful growl.

"Guess it can't be helped." Koamaru pulled himself to his feet while Gaucho looked up excitedly at him Koamaru tossed another treat to his partner as he got to his feet and started to walk through the ballroom. "Come on. We've gotta walk off those treats now."

After a bit of weaving through the mix of people making their beds or making conversation, he saw a familiar face. Rather he saw a familiar state of dress. The blue traditionally worn cloth tipped him off to his previous acquaintance. They hadn't gotten much time to speak whiel aboard, but now it seemed they had the whole night if they wished.

It seemed that Zion had made other friends now. Hopefully Koamaru wasn't disturbing anything by joining their conversation.

"Zion, good to see you again. Your friends as well." Koamaru spoke up, stopping just a few steps away with Gaucho in tow. He had felt Gaucho's uneasiness several steps back. The conjurations the seemed connected to Zion were giving Gaucho some bad vibes. He trusted his partner, but didn't want to make any kind of scene. He would keep an eye on any future conjurations to see if it was all really peaceful. He reached into his jacket and dropped another small treat to calm his partners nerves for now.

Zion Waters

Zion turned around as he heard a familiar voice. It was Koamaru, the guy he had talked to on the ship. Yona stood up and began sniffing the newcomer wildly but could not find fault within. He returned to the state of a black sphere and floated above his master, protectively. He faced the white haired girl with a small smile. "Guess that answers your question about my name. This is my... friend, Koamaru." Yona seemed tired of waiting, so he dissolved into thin air. Zion gestured for Koamaru to sit with them as he moved his spear and belongings to make room. Zion took note of the dog's behaviour which already put him in a sour mood. He would have to arrange for its death. It may have seemed like a lot, but he didn't want anyone in his business. His attention returned to the spunky white haired girl as he spoke,

"I'll have to ask both of your names as well, including the one with the tail." He was quite surprised himself that the last part got out of his mouth, but played himself off like he was relaxed.

He watched the crowd shift towards the exit doors, but decided to wait until most of the crowd was gone. So he returned to his book, however he stopped when he was tapped on his shoulder and turned to see a ginger haired girl in a black newsboy cap, except the cap seemed to have ear pockets for a faunus. Not wanting to assume, he decided not to think much of it. "Hey there, I recall you from the airship, figured I'd come and say a friendly hi. The name's Alani Kahtom, mind some company while getting to know the rest of the academy?" she had said.

"Oh, not at all, not at all. It's nice to meet you Alani, I'm Grey Sanford." He said, standing up and sticking out his hand for her to shake.

“The poem, ‘Colors of Winter’, was created the day after the death of the writer’s sister. Although many find it to be a simple poem on the transition of the seasons, seasons tend to represent parts of a person’s life. Spring is birth, summer is one’s childhood, autumn is adult life and usually its pains, and winter is…death.” Ryuuko tilted her head, trying her best to remember the poem. It had a been a while since she had last read it. “The colors mentioned in this story are somewhat related to the seasons, but are more of what the poet was feeling. It starts off with the golden color of spring, his happiness with his sibling, until he goes to the color red…blood, naturally, and his realization of how the war touched his life. By this, I mean it had caused the death of someone close to him. This was written during the Great War, of course, so it was common for poets to write of such sad subjects. After speaking of red, the poet speaks of white snow. When snow falls, it represents death.  ‘Colors of Winter’ ends with the color black. I forgot, however, what the color was associated with in the poem and so I can’t make a statement for it other than it likely represents emptiness in one’s life.” She took a deep breath and laughed, despite the tone of the poem. A bit of pride snuck onto her expression. 'Colors of Winter'was considered the most beautiful poem in the family so she took it upon herself to analyze every bit of it, even if the memory of it was a bit blurred. What she did remember, however, is that it had managed to impress her family. The poem’s appearance of a cheerful description of seasons was burying a tale of grief.

“My, that was quite the mouthful. I hoped it was interesting to learn about, regardless. Although it was a difficult poem to understand, I felt like its age added to it. It made you think of times of the past.” When asked about her own interests, Ryuuko shrugged.  “In all honesty, I am unsure of what I like. I train with my weapons often and do my fair share of reading, though I cannot say anything particularly excites me.” ...well, actually, she did like anime and manga a lot, but she felt like that would contrast her family's image and decided on not mentioning it.

Ignacia glared at Zion, this guy's all kinds of suspicious. "Wouldn't you like ta know?" She whipped her hair at him, jokingly. "Any'ays, I'm Hayes. Ignacia", pausing for a brief moment, "Last name then first name." She scooted back on her bedding, prepping her pillow. "So anywho. It's been a dandy of a day, but I should probly hit the spud sack." She lied face down on the pillow, arms underneath. "Ye lads mind sleepin' soon? Can't really get goin' with ya standing 'round here." She said, voice muffled by the pillow.

Elizabeth "Izzy" Turquoise

Izzy admittedly was asleep throughout Ozpin and the Queen's speech, being far too tired from her long journey to pay much attention.  Perhaps it was a bit unsocial of her, and she knew her mother back home wouldn't approve, but hey, who's fault was it?  Not hers, obviously.  She was super excited for the academy, but couldn't muster the willpower to stay awake for its introductory ceremony.  The only thing she was awake for however, was Ozpin's announcement that everyone would be sleeping rigt here in this massive auditorium.  The thought made her eager, and with a broad grin, she made her way to the center of the room, where she set her sleeping bag down, and lie down upon it, looking up at the ceiling in silence for a few moments, before hearing conversation.  She stood up, walking over to Ignacia, Joshua, and Zion, giving them a bright smile.  "Hello, everyone!" she greeted, taking a dramatic, almost satirical sort of bow.  "My name is Elizabeth Turquoise, but you can call me Izzy!"  Perhaps it was rude to interrupt, but evidently, she cared little.

Joshua quietly observed as everyone got to know each other with new arrivals such as Izzy, Koamaru, and Zion. Joshua had been lying down on his back on the mattress without a shirt on when Izzy had approached. So he simply took his right hand from behind his head and waved, "Good to meet you Izzy, name's Joshua Ebonmire."

So...This was Beacon, huh?

Ya know, when he first saw it through the window, he was kinda shocked it wasn't some super old castle filled with bats and stuff. But nope. Guess he was wrong...sadly. The minute he walked into the auditorium, he couldn't help but give the weird lady surrounded by guards and Ozpin an uncomfortable look. Now, to say Neil had an 'Authority' problem was...actually pretty accurate. He just couldn't trust those stuffy guys of major importance for obvious reasons. He nearly fell asleep at Ozpin's speech and napped for two minutes at the Queen's speech, but some bumps from his fellow students caused him to wake up and look around quickly. Oh! Everyone was leaving! Were they finally going to get rooms?! Neil smiled widely. Finally! Now, he could give the walls some posters and crash into his big soft, comfy, be-

Floor. His comfy...floor...OH WELL! At least he could still wear his pyjamas! Striding quite proudly in his pink T-Shirt complete with pink basket ball shorts, he sighed and looked around. Okay, Neil! Who to talk to now? Hmmm...BINGO! His eyes landed on a girl reading a book, causing him to grin! She looked like she could use a friend! Smiling wide, he walked up to her, hands behind his back. "Hey, there, friend!" Neil exclaimed, taking out one of his hands to wave enthusiastically. "So! Need some company? Everyone else around here seems to be talking but us! And since I got a mouth and you got a mouth..." He shrugged. "Ya know!" Neil found that sentence to be a bit weird...perfect!

Rendure stood in the corner quietly. To anyone it seemed he was sleeping and he sort off was. He had already tuned out the noises that weren't really that important because their sources really weren't that important. Instead in his mind, he was sitting in a garden having tea with his other selves. They didn't talk, they just sat quietly and had tea. "Welp..." He said standing up, I'm just gonna go make some friends, see ya later." He said before he disappeared. The red one turned to the blue one. "You forgot to tell him that friends don't shoot each other even if it's for fun..."

Rendure opened his eyes and stretched out of his trance. "Well, time to meet some new people." He said before sauntering over to a pair with a budding conversation. "Hi, I'm Sir Rendure. I like guns a lot. How about you guys?" He introduced himself. @SpicyWatterson-Kun @Wandering Hollow

Lyrika took in the story of the poem with rapt attention. It was a rather simple story, one that might sound all too typical to some that heard it. But Lyrika had grown up on this sort of thing, and it always entertained her to hear about the truth behind the literature. She had read "Colors of Winter" many years ago, and had preformed it once to her family. It was almost like a piece of nostalgia to come back to it after all this time. Her calling was to be a huntress now, but she still possessed a great love of poetry, and hearing this story was an absolute delight in her eyes. Still, as much as she enjoyed hearing it, she felt it would just be plain weird to express her sentiments over it.

Ryuuko's response to her question was short, yet rather intriguing. Did she really have no great interests to speak of? She didn't even seem to be invested in the things she did mention. She supposed it was to be expected that one of the first things she mentioned was weaponry. Lyrika knew that the Shirogane family had a strong martial tradition. In fact, that was usually what eclipsed any mention of their poetry. Lyrika had always wanted to be a huntress, but it wasn't the weapons and the power that had captured her interest; it was the feats of heroism and the romanticism behind the profession. "Well, I guess that's to be expected." Lyrika replied. "You're-um, you just look like a very...martial person, if you don't mind me saying. Yes." She had, once again, been about to say 'You're a Shirogane'. Keeping mum about this Shirogane connection was such an odd thing for Lyrika, and quite difficult to keep in mind.

"So!" She carried on awkwardly, attempting to deflect attention from yet another close call. "What, uh, what kind of weapon do you use? My father insisted I use an "elegant weapon", and after several rejections, we settled on this spear." She presented her ranseur spear. "It's not what I wanted, but father has...odd tastes. He's also very insistent." Weapon talk wasn't really of great interest to Lyrika, but she hardly trailed into this line of conversation by choice. But perhaps it would prove more interesting than she expected if given a chance.

"Hm?" Adrian looked up to see a young man dressed in the pinkest clothes she has ever seen. And he called her friend too. That was nice. Adrian quietly listened to Niel's strange introduction and gave it some thought.

"I guess we both do have mouths and we are talking now. At least until I finish this sentence anyway." Adrian replied before returning her attention to her book and flipping the page. As she was reading a paragraph on grenade design, she remembered her manners.

"My name is Adrian. Adrian Cuthbertson, may I know your name?" She asked as another joined them. Adrian watched as he introduced himself in a similarly strange way as the other.

"Its nice to meet you Sir Rendure. My name is Adrian Cuthbertson and I too like using guns. As for my... conversational partner who has yet to tell me his name, I am not so sure about his preference in terms of weaponry." Adrian replied before returning her attention to her book.

Creaaakk.... creaaaaaaaak.... craaaaaak... groooaaaan....

The sounds followed her where she went on these wooden floors. The crystals in her throat and antlers were sparkling softly, illuminating soft light. Her clothes bulged due to her crystals, though the stretchiness of her current dress was good enough to fix that issue. She shyly looked around, her near glowing eyes hunting for any form of safety in this strange auditorium. She didn't know a person, let alone how to interact with a person. All of them just accused her of treachery and lies at first. Called her weird, insulted her due to her horns. Denied the light of the day for the sparkle of the Moon. She took a glance away from her cupped hands to see a strange sight. A man with golden hair, and twitching ears. They were a bit different than normal, but how could she describe it? In fear, she suddenly began to realize that she had no real examples of animals. She never was allowed to see them, though she did see some that people were walking, but she didn't know their names! She gulped in a bout of anxiety, deciding that if she was going to have a life here she at least needed friends. She took a deep breath before marching towards the blonde man she saw...

Seraphina approached the group of talking gunners, her left hand clasped hard into her right forearm. If it wasn't for her crystal, she would have drawn blood already. She slowly looked above her head, making sure her antlers (Which pretty much made her 7 feet tall) wouldn't hit anything but more importantly, anyone. Cervus wore her sins on her sleeve, even if she had none to show. Her eyes darted to the other two people accompanying the blonde cat eared man, a man with violet eyes and long feminine hair, and a man who looked the exact opposite of herself. So many interesting people! She rather noticeably put herself towards the edge of the group, rubbing her shoulders. She shuddered a bit, trying to build within herself enough strength to actually say something. She gritted her teeth, revealing the fact they were white crystal. Her crystal fangs didn't sparkle like the rest of her, but still drew attention due to just how crazy she was compared to the 'normal' person, let alone Faunus. She finally threw her trembling head down, put both of her hands crossed over each other as far as she could below herself, bowed slightly and squeaked out, "Hi... I'm... Cervus...."

Neil tilted his head at her answer. She was like Ryuu but a little more...weird? ...AWESOME! The weirder, the better! Neil grinned and nodded. "Name's Neil! Neil Cyclamen! Nice to meet ya!" He then blinked when someone new came up and introduced himself, causing Neil's grin to widen. Sir rendure...Sir. Rendure. Surrender...oh, how he wanted to say it aloud, but Adrian had spoken before he could. When she was done, Neil shrugged. "Yeah, guns are cool. Swords don't really speak my language, ya know? And I don't want to get my head bashed in fighting fist-to-fist." Neil may have been an idiot, but he wasn't moron. He preferred medium and long range from close range anyway.

Hearing the sounds of floorboards creaking, causing him to blink before turning around and look up...and up. Whoa...Neil hadn't had much interactions with much faunus before, but this one looked a bit more...different. Neil squinted a bit and leaned in, trying to hear her whisper. Blinking, he leaned back.. Hmmm...a shy one, eh? "Hey, there, Cervus! Name's Neil!" He put his hand out. "Cool horns, by the way!" Pepper in the compliment, Neil.

Seraphina starred at him next to no emotion as he leaned in close. He could be literally hugging her and she would probably not care. But the most distressing thing for her is when he offered his hand out. She recoiled back with her hands opened around her, like she was expecting to be... beaten. Her eyes shut tight for a few moments before her eyes opened, looking around. Why wasn't she feeling pain or at least pressure on her crystals? She uncoiled her arms and brought her legs down a bit lower, in a more animalistic state of caution. She leaned above Neil's palm, then before, looking at it from a few angles before just staring Neil in the face. She sounded more confused than anything, "I am glad to please you... but what are you doing with hand...? I thought you were going to slap me..." The way she said her words made that sound like an everyday occurrence, more of an inconvenience than a threat.

She would mimic the gesture and give Neil a soft, uncomfortable handshake. Her hand was as smooth as glass but very cold. Her fingertips had tiny bumps, almost like the beginning of claws. Her eyes drifted up to Neil's before asking, "...Like this...?"

Adrian quietly watched as Niel introduced himself to a rather perculiar looking Faunus. Or at least she thinks Seraphina is a Faunus. Either way, Adrian could symphatise with Seraphina's reaction. She felt a sharp pang in her chest when she saw Seraphina flinch in response to an offered handshake.

Poor girl... Was all that she could think about Seraphina. Adrian shifted to the left. "Um... If it doesn' trouble you Miss Cervus but you can have a seat next to me if you want. I... understand how it feels like to be... uncomfortable with interacting with people." Adrian offered a place next to her spot, trying her best to remember the steps in making friends.

"If you want, I have a few extra books... Maybe... you would like to read...?" Adrian nervously offered, digging around her pack to pull out a few books. One is an old novel called 'Mystery of the Wandering Hunter', the other was another reference book called 'Aura Theory' and the last is everyone's favorite romance novel 'Ninjas of Love'.

"Ah. I even have a book for Mr Neil and Sir Rendure... Well... At least until someone else decides to join us.... Maybe we could share if that happens...?"
