"...Several reports state that there have been numerous accounts of civil unrest in the Eastern cities of Vale. Seemingly, these once happy cities have turned into areas of self destruction within a matter of days. People have left their homes and simply began destroying nearly everything in sight and demanding that heir rightful ruler be returned to power, although they refuse to elaborate past that point." The digital blonde news reporter continued on the airship set for Beacon. Some of the students had decided to stay and listen while others preferred the landscape unfolding below them to the images of smoke rising from the far off cities that the news report detailed. The screen carried on explaining the dire situations for these cities and the prospects of it spreading elsewhere, but Beacon was still in the young minds of most students.

Kuro stood with the group of students closest to the display screen, lightly leaning on his cane. He stared straight forward in the direction that the sound was coming from, and so assumed that he was facing the screen. He was trying to appear as normal as possible, although he was more than likely the only person wearing sunglasses inside the airship. Soon enough, other students would find out that he couldn't see without his cane, but that would be another time. For now, he wanted to be just another student. Slowly, Kuro made his way out of the crowd and toward the less populated inner wall of the observatory. He didn't have any use for the observatory windows and the news station had turned to some kind of story about a celebrity he didn't recognize. He still tapped his cane lightly on the ground as he moved, trying to avoid accidentally running into anyone. The rocking and vibration of the ship made that task somewhat difficult but manageable for now.

Kuro leaned against the wall with a slight sigh, hoping that he would be on solid ground again soon and he could get to actually becoming a hunter. As nice as the airship was, there had to be a faster mode of travel that Beacon could use.

'Too bad people like us, with weapons and wills, will stop it.' Indigo thought as the ship rocked back and forth, the announcement screaming everywhere on the ship. He saw a guy with sunglasses walk away slowly with a cool looking cane from the screen of the airship which talked about Spruce Willis and his new action movie. "Hey, who are you? Cool things ya got there." He sent his voice towards the caned figure he followed to the observatory.

Jade had spent most of the trip so far peering out of the window. Everything below them seemed a lot more lively than Atlas was, that's for sure. Still, scenery got boring when it was moving at this kinda speed. Seriously, was the ship built by flying snails or something?

She looked around the ship for something to do. A couple of guys seemed to be starting up a conversation but she didn't feel like butting in. Didn't really feel like walking up and chatting to someone either, so she decided to go for the mature option and ping people in the back of the head with balls of paper until one of them reacted. She could even keep score of how many she hit! With a devilish grin, she threw her first ball at someone by the windows, punching the air triumphantly when she managed to get a direct hit, which made it really obvious who'd thrown it. That, and her cheerful yell of "Bullseye!" that would be heard by pretty much everyone else on the ship.

And then there were students that wanted to pass the time with conversation. Kuro groaned internally as someone directed their attention to him. He tapped the ground just a few more times to make sure that they weren't referring to someone slightly past him. Unfortunately, it seemed that there wasn't anyone else in the immediate area that he could pass the social responsibilities off to. He turned to the student and gave a more noticeable tap with his cane, trying to get a better 'look' at them.

The handle sent impulses to his mind and mapped out the general form of everything around him. Everything was a bit fuzzy, but he could tell that this student was a male, roughly around his age. Kuro cocked his head slightly to try and seem like he was looking the other student in the eyes. "Kuro. Kuro is my name."

This was what he dreaded. Having to make conversation with someone. The fact that people identified themselves in color schemes didn't help either. It was all grey and black in his mind. However, returning the complement would probably do well enough for now. "Your things are cool as well."

@TheOnlyCatbug

He put his hands on top of each other on his coat."Oh, um," he hesitated. "Thanks. I just want to talk to someone before we land and things happen, y'know. I... like your cane. Is it a weapon? I kinda...really love weapons..." He looked down, slightly embarrassed.

@Rozalski

"It is my weapon." Kuro sighed and put more of his weight on the cane. This student was obviously just being friendly and following his own pleasures in weaponry. However, Kuro's blade sheathed inside his cane carried more weight than what his body put on it. It wasn't just his weapon, it was his curse as well. However someone had gone through a lot of trouble to return the blade he had sworn away, and so he carried it now.

Kuro decided to take a chance on getting the attention away from his own weapon. "And how about your weapon?" With any luck, that would still be polite enough while keeping the subject off his cane.

With the extra weight on his cane, Kuro didn't notice that the student's posture had changed position. He still believed that he was looking the student in the eyes when really he was now slightly staring blankly at a wall.

Please hurry up and land. Please hurry up and land..

The faunus stood by a window, her eyes tightly shut, attempting to hold back the urge to throw up. She barely paid attention to her surroundings, the News story, people talking. She was much too focused on thinking of her happy place to forget about air travel.

Beacon, the school of fighting stuff and getting beat up by monsters. Sounded a much better idea to her that morning before boarding the ship.

Clara stood against the window, her head gently vibrating against the class from the feedback by the engines. She wore a thick cloak over her head and tightly fastened around her lower back. She didn't want people finding out..

As time past slowly, the urge to vomit slowly passing, a slight noise kept bugging her, the sound of something whizzing through the air. She thought it was just the wind outside, somehow getting in through an open window but that changed when something hit her on the back of her head, lightly as the cloak took most of the feeling. The quiet tap, followed by someone exclaiming behind her, confirmed that it was just a student pulling pranks.

Looking down, Clara spotted the small paper ball and smiled. Using her semblance very discreetly, she moved it between her feet to hide it and shot it back in the direction it came in.

@Dragonfry

Jade was on paper number six when somebody finally sent one back. Sadly, she'd been in the middle of yelling when the ball flew back at her, which meant she got a mouthful of paper. It didn't actually taste as bad as she expected, but it resulted in a coughing fit that ruined her celebrations a little. Hard to cheer yourself on without breathing.

Once she was done coughing, she looked over at the person who'd thrown it at her with a grin, walking over cheerfully and tapping the cloaked figure on the shoulder. For a moment she wondered if there was a reason for the cloak, thinking of her own jacket. Or maybe this person was just really dramatic, who knew?

"Nice shot there, caped crusader!" she said to the back of their head cheerfully, with a wide smile. "I've hit six though, so I'm still winning. Name's Jade, and you are?"

@LadyClara

Church stood silently by the window gazing down upon the city. Being comparatively taller than the rest, Church would occasionally glance over everyone's heads at the news anchor as she spoke of unrest in the Eastern villages. Church turned to comment on the matter to his sister, Asha. Only to realize for a third time that she wasn't there. They had been separated and assigned to different teams. Church exhaled softly in irritation. He knew Asha and Asha knew him, they operated well together. He didn't understand why the powers above opted to separate them.

A scrap of paper being tossed and hitting a female faunus in the back of the head caught his attention. She laughed and used her semblance to toss it back. Telekinesis it seemed. Church brought his gaze back to the large window overlooking Vale. Compared to the other students, he felt his age once again. Church unsheathed his large axe and separated it at the haft. With the snap of his wrist, the bottom half of his axe took the form of a shield. Church inspected the shield, then snapped it into it's one-handed axe form, inspecting that as well. Unless something disturbed him, Church would spend the remainder of the flight inspecting his other gear.

Hearing the footsteps approach her, pushed herself off the wall, turning around to face the student, her golden hair whirling as she spun.

Her green, emerald-like eyes glinted as she gazed upon the other student, another female. Her cloak hood covered her ears, both sets of them, casting a slight shadow over her brow.

"By all means, fire all six," she spoke softly back, a slight monotone to her voice. Clara was deliberately trying to seem a bit more mysterious but eventually it sounded ridiculous to her. "Jade. I like that name. Mine is Clara."

Clara studied the girl before her, taking in her outfit and style, trying to read her. "What brings you to Beacon?"

@Dragonfry

Jade snickered a little in response to the whole 'mysterious' act. Once the girl dropped it though, she actually seemed to be pretty nice. "Clara, huh? Cool name! Suits you."Clara had been pretty nice so far, so Jade decided to give an honest answer to the question. "It's kind of a long story." She fidgeted with the brim of her cap awkwardly. She never was good with this stuff.

"I moved here from Atlas a couple years back - had no-one to look after me. Long story short, I guess I was part of a kind of... 'fight club'." she said, making airquotes with her fingers before laughing nervously. "Got right to the top too. It wasn't exactly legal, but a girl's gotta eat, and there's no way I was gonna turn into a thief. Some hunter broke up one of our meetings and got me an acceptance letter instead of community service." She finished her story quite shakily, a bit worried about how Clara would react. Sure, she'd only done it so she had money to live on, but some people were pretty

serious about the law.

"Besides that, I've got some stuff I want to prove to the people back in Atlas. So, why'd you join up?" Jade said, her usual cheer coming back.

@LadyClara

"Oh, my weapon!" He reached for his holster, but remembered he was watched by security cameras. He withdrew his hand back into it's original position."It's kinda cool I guess. I made it myself, it's a pistol that can turn into a war axe. It's nothing special but I think it helps with training my semblance. Oh I think we can be good friends." He noticed that Kuro was looking at a wall. "Erm, are you ok there? You're looking at a wall." He tapped Kuro's shoulder.

@Rozalski

Clara listened carefully, taking in every word. "Hmm.. Guess you had it hard but personally, doing what you did will only help you in the future," she showed a warm smile in return.

"My reason's pretty cliché. The whole 'I want to become a huntress and kill monsters' kinda reason. I also want to stop the other war, the 'Humans vs Faunus' war. It's stupid and pointless and frankly gets to me."

The faunus looked down, feeling herself getting agitated. Worried her semblance will start causing issues, she attempted to calm herself, taking deep breaths.

Jade looked relieved at Clara's response. It felt like a weight off her shoulders, telling someone. She listened to Clara's reason, it wasn't really anything surprising to her. What was quite surprising was how worked up the other girl seemed to be about stopping the war, not that Jade couldn't relate. Growing up in Atlas, she'd basically been unable to get away from it. It didn't bother her the way it seemed to be bothering Clara though.

Jade took a step forward, putting her hand on Clara's shoulder. "Hey, uh, you okay there? Wanna sit down or something? You don't gotta talk anymore if you don't want to." Jade said, pushing her cap up so that her face was clear, concern obvious in her eyes.

@LadyClara

Clara looked back up, the agitation fading away. She could feel her semblance calm also. The faunus straightened up and readjusted her cloak over her head and around her back.

"Yeah, I'm good. Thank you." She paused for a bit, leaning against the wall, using the top half of her back to lean on instead of the lower half.

"What's your take on the whole Human vs Faunus problem?" Clara asked, curiously.

@Dragonfry

Kuro took a step back and turned slightly at the touch on his shoulder. He wasn't used to this kind of interaction at all and didn't much care for for it.

Kuro tapped his cane slightly and corrected his gaze. "Sorry, I spaced out or something." His position still wasn't much better. Even without seeing his actual eyes, anyone could still see that his field of vision was just awkward. "As for being friends, maybe. Maybe not. I prefer being alone in most circumstances."

@TheOnlyCatbug

Jade thought it over for a moment. "I'm a bit out of the loop right now, but...Uh, how do I put it?" she couldn't help but glance at her hands for a second. "Having people treat you different, like you're worth less 'cause of something that you didn't choose... It sucks. Hard. I can't be okay with that sorta thing, so I guess there's your answer." she said, looking unsure. She glanced behind her, noticing the blue-haired boy approaching. She decided to point him out to Clara as well.

"Looks like someone else wants to talk. Man, how long is this flight gonna take anyway?" she said, sounding like she was trying to be more annoyed than she actually was before turning and waving to blue-hair with her usual cheerful smile.

@LadyClara @TheOnlyCatbug

He walked away from Kuro to leave him alone like he said he wanted to. He saw 2 girls talking to each other. 'Well, why not more conversation. There's nothing else to do here anyway.' He looked out a window to barely see a tower about 6 miles away in the clear weather. "We are about 6 miles away from what I saw a moment ago, anyway what are you two talking about?" He said while approaching the girls.

@LadyClara @Dragonfry (Yes I restarted.)

Rolling her eyes, Clara turned around and looked out the window, the clouds floating aimlessly by. She could just see the land below her, the sudden queasy feeling came back. Groaning to herself, she leaned her head against the window again and closed her eyes, thinking of what Beacon would be like once they'd arrived. Images of Dungeons and Castles crossed her mind.

Grasping onto the hilt on one of her concealed hilts, Clara sighed. It helped her a little bit, restoring some reassurance but wouldn't help the feeling in the pit of her stomach disappear.

@Dragonfry @TheOnlyCatbug

A feeling gave way in Church's stomach as the airship began to descend. They still had a few minutes yet, but Church wanted to be out the door as soon as they made landfall. Church reattached the bottom haft of his Axe, making it whole once more. He sheathed the large axe in a custom made pouch that sat strapped to his back, and made his way to the airlock. The click and clang of his armor made him a bit noisy as he strode past everyone, but everyone's attention was elsewhere as they anxiously waited for the mission ahead.

"Hey, uhh... you with the cool jacket, you look kinda pretty, what's your name?" He pointed to the girl with the rather stylish appearance. He wondered about the hooded one more, but she seemed dangerous so he backed off of saying anything towards her.

@Dragonfry @LadyClara

Jade was a bit surprised by the guy's comment. She looked at the guy, smiling a little. "Me? Name's Jade. Hooded girl's Clara." She was being friendly, but figured it was best to let him down a bit gently with the whole 'pretty' thing, though. She looked at him, laughing a little. "Nice line by the way, but you're probably best finding another girl to use it on, buddy." she smirked as she introduced herself.

She looked over at Clara, a little concerned. Girl seemed worried about something.
"You know, if it stresses you out so much you're better off taking a step back from the window, Clara." after that, she looked back at blue guy, realising something. "Oh, sorry, I forgot to ask your name too! Can't keep calling you 'blue guy' in my head forever."

@TheOnlyCatbug @LadyClara

He couldn't help but chuckle at blue guy. He smiled at Jade. "My name's Indigo, but you can call me by last name, Sapphire. Nice to meet ya. If we end up on teams I wouldn't be surprised, the letter I can be used a lot in certain times." That's all that he could think of, who would be on his team, what weapons and semblances does each person have. He liked the diversity of the students here. He looked out the window and made a careful observation. He noticed they were close to the ground. "Oh, I guess we're landing, time went by faster than I thought!" He walked away towards the exit to the ship, waving at the 2 girls along the way before disappearing into the crowd.

@Dragonfry @LadyClara @Rozalski @Church418

The faunus listened to the conversation, her eyes still closed.

Is he flirting with her? This amused her more than it probably should have.

As the airship began to descend, she sighed in relief. They were only a couple of minutes away from their destination.

Few minutes from getting of this damn ship and on solid ground..

Standing straight, Clara turned around, surprised that her new friend was still standing by her.

"We should probably head to the exit. I'm dying to get off this ship.."
