Zoey left the table she was sitting in and walked towards Jade.


"And who might you be? Don't you think you're a little bit loud?" She said walking to the girl.

Jade raised an eyebrow at the strange girl's approach. Friendly, wasn't she. "You say loud, I say enthusiastic. You should try it out sometime, might help you loosen up a bit." she smirked, holding out a gloved hand for a handshake. "Name's Jade. Feel free to join my fan club at any point. We're planning on getting badges made." she continued, sarcastically. Sure, maybe she was being a bit unfair, but the girl had interrupted her meal so she had the right to at least tease her a little.

'Fan club?' She searched her memory banks and couldn't find those 2 words together, so she just shook her hand back. "Ok, I can do that."


She wondered why nobody said anything on how she looks.

Jade burst out laughing at the girl's response, trailing off as she realised the other person seemed serious. "I don't actually have a fan club, masky, I was being sarcastic. I do that sometimes. Apparently, it gets annoying after a while, but I like to think it's part of my charm. What's your name, anyway?" she said, her annoyance from before seeming to have faded, a little. Meh, she was almost done with the nachos anyway.

Okay, this girl was weird. Nicer than she'd originally seemed, but still weird. "Oh, you're from Atlas too, huh? Cool. I grew up there too, mostly. Anyway, it's nice to meet you, Z. Sorry to break off the conversation, but I have myself some nachos to finish." she said in a friendly tone despite her slight misgivings about the girl. She seemed pretty weird, and it wasn't like Jade had been subtle with the sarcasm. Probably just didn't get out much or something.

"Alright then. I'll catch you later. See ya."


She walked out of the cafeteria and headed to the room she would stay in for the rest of her time here.


She walked in and sat on a bed, the only one without any luggage on it would most likely be hers. She laid down and shut off her eyes. Then her core.

Clara's was lounging in her dorm lounge area when it happened. The growl was unlike anything she'd heard of.


The faunus had been messing around on her scroll, seeing what features it had. It was getting late, just passing 7:15pm and the other two were still out.


"May and Kuro.. They seem to get along pretty well. I wonder if they'll get together. I mean, he did bring us all something but he went to give her thing personally," she mumbled to herself.


When the sound returned, the faunus bolted upright, her ears pointed up, she could feel her instinct to hide to which she repressed. Looking around frantically, she heard it again, this time quieter but still loud enough to hear. Clara closed her eyes and searched with her semblance, hoping to find someone or something hiding from her but found nothing. Closest thing to her was Indigo, fast asleep.


The next time it growled, she felt it. Upon realising exactly what had caused the noise, she was glad no one was around to witness it or she'd never be able to show her face again.


Was that..my stomach?!


Clutching her stomach and waiting, it growled again, this time she could feel it. Standing up embarrassingly, she sneaked out the dorm, closing the door behind her and looked around. A few students were walking around but nothing major.


After getting directions to the Hall, she bolted for the cafeteria, hoping to grab a quick snack before closing. As she darted along a hallway, she ran straight passed a set of double doors, something inside catching her eye. Skidding to a stop, she backed up and slowly peeked her head in. In the far end of the aisle before her, she could just see both Kuro and May inside, near a few tables. They seemed to either be talking about books or picking them out.


The leader giggled to herself. Clara had an obsession with cute things and romance topped the list for her. She stood and admired them for a minute.

Reis looked up as Hans mentioned her she had not really noticed that the two had arrived or that Hans was now stuffing his face. The girl gave a nod and said her name quietly staying lost in her drawing. As Zoey walked off, Reis watched her take a few steps before turning to Hans. She slid her bowl of noodles across the table to him before putting away her notepad and taking a sip of tea. " How have you been Hans, I have been out of sorts lately with studying and all. So I apologize for not noticing you" Reis stated calmly and collectively before taking another sip of her green tea and looking out the window.

Hans smirked as he swallowed the last of his food. "That's so like you to become absorbed in your books. You are a bookworm, after all", he said as he smiled playfully. The bowl of noodles in front of him proved to be too tempting to resist, and he started eating them as well. " And since you asked, I've been well, thanks", he spoke clearly inbetween mouthfuls of noodles.


As he finished, he stood abruptly and grabbed all the garbage. "Team meeting in two hours in the bunks. Don't be late, we got some important things to discuss." Hans winked quickly before he swallowed his last bite of noodles and briskly walked out of the cafeteria.

He can't reaed it?! Oh, that's awkward...


May's shoulders drooped a little, though it wasn't long after before she heard a much softer tone that she well wasn't familiar with.


"Thank you, May."


Even if he couldn't read the book, his genuine recognition made her feel happy. Disconcerted, she rubbed the back of her head and laughed. It was already pretty late into the day, so the both of them might as well head back into the dorm. Clasping her hands together behind her back with a newfound vigor, May felt refreshed. With the conversation now, and the conversation with Clara, she had something to look forward to for the next. While it was far from her expectations of what her team would have been like before she came to Beacon, there was a good part of her that felt like it would be fine. As long as she doesn't get into a physical confrontation with any of them.


"... haha, don't mention it! Just keep it around for good luck! Well, until I finish everything else I'm reading to return it. We should head back to the dorm, it's getting late, and I'm sure Clara and Indigo are worried!"


Spinning her back to Kuro, it didn't take long of walking ahead a few steps to see a familiar figure up ahead. Stopping in her steps, May cocked her head to the side in confusion, wondering if it was a mirage or an illusion. Perhaps it was still a dream? Nah, a little to farfetched for an idea like that. Could be a lost student... or..


"Clara? Oh, we're just returning to the dorm!"


Realizing the figure belonged to their leader, the first thing that crossed her mind was how long she stood there. It was a proper excuse to grow embarrassed, though fueling the situation any more would just cause misunderstandings. All she wanted to do was read, after all. Nothing more. Bringing her hands away from each other, she waved up ahead where she stood soon after her words, as if assuring her of May's insistence. Without hinting at anything further, May strode to Clara, and then, well, past Clara, in the direction of their dorms.


"I'd like to read as much as I can tonight and at least get a good six to seven hours of sleep!"

Reis only sighed at his comment and nodded with a slight wave as Hans left. So she had two hours before the team would meet up, and nothing else to do. Reis finished her tea disposing of her trash and then headed out the cafeteria. Maybe a little practice wouldnt hurt before the meeting, she thought as the girl moved to the outside training area. Stopping by her team room locker for Sepharos which was now straddling her back Reis put her hand to her back. "Sepharos" she called without feeling as the handle for the greatsword shot out allowing a hand hold. Reis took hold swinging it off her back as the transformation finished the blade off the ground by an inch as she was holding it in one hand. Making a few slicing motions she breathed taking a downward strike at air before dropping to a knee transforming the weapon into its massive crossbow. She went on like this utilizing her movements and attacks and timing appropriate weapon transformations for them.

"Hi," she smiled, giving May a strange look. "It's ok, I'm just heading to get some food, didn't realise how hungry I was. If you two like, I can pick something up for you both?"


Her eyes followed May as she walked past and headed back up towards the dorms. May seemed to be a little flustered to her, unless she was seeing things.


"Don't worry, I'd only been here a few seconds. I was running by when something else caught my eye and I saw you two. Were you's discussing books?"


The faunus clasped her hand behind her and rocked back and forth on her heels, a weird smile tugging her lips.


Should I tell them I can't read that well..?

Hans sat down a couple benches away from Reis. He appeared to be wrapping his hand. "Huh, isn't that cute", he said sarcastically with a slight twinkle in his eyes. He smirked and finished wrapping his hand.

Reis finished her training workout as sweat beads began to form across her body, Placing the greatsword back into its travel configuration before looking back toward Hans. " It is what you think it is" She stated simply as she moved to the bench he was at and sat beside him as she looked at his hand she asked "How did you get that?"

(Timeskipping and getting us back on track. Sorry for the delay.)


As a new day dawned over Beacon, each student's scroll chimed in unison just a few moments after the sun peered over the horizon. Each screen directed to a long list of different missions for teams to sign up for. The leader of each team had an open check box next to each mission where they could make the choice on what their teams would do. The list scrolled slowly by with titles and short descriptions for each:

• Caravan Protection - provide protection to a food bank caravan going out of Vale.
  
• Reclaim Home - remove grimm from an overrun homestead
  
• Search and Rescue - find a cartographer that was reported missing near an old mine
  
• History - bring back items of interest from an archeological site.
  

The list scrolled on, but other items seemed to be faded out for team CWIK and SNJJ. Team RHNZ had expanded options but the same options that CWIK and SNJJ had were recommended with a gold border.

Kuro rolled over in his bed, solely following the sound of his scroll to pick it up. After fumbling for a moment, he took the scroll in hand and shoved it under his pillow. He had already given up on trying to manipulate the device from the first time he held it. He assumed that eventually it would quiet down, but for now it was muffled at least.


He had slept well through the night. The night before had been an experience for him. Between having his grip on reality checked and May offering him a book that he could eventually learn to read, he waa still slightly unsure of Beacon as a whole. He trusted his team, that much he knew. Although is was slightly embarrassing the Clara had eavesdropped slightly on his and Mays exhange, he trusted them.


He pulled himself to the edge of the bed and pulled his cane from under his sheets. He had learned to sleep with it for the sake of being able to return to his illusion of sight as quickly as possible. He tapped his cane against the ground and felt the room around him come into form again, exactly the way it had been before.

Nave woke to the familiar alarm of his scroll the way he did every morning: excited. Without hesitation he leaped to the foot of his bed, grabbing his scroll on the way. He saw the sun beginning to paint it's light against the wall and smiled. It was a nother wonderful day at Beacon.


He thumbed off the alarm on his scroll before turning slightly to his teammates. "Good morning, everyone!" He was loud and happy and didn't seem to mind much if he disturbed the next three rooms over.

Clara bolted upright as her scroll buzzed on the unit, the vibration resonating through the wood, making it seem louder than it was. The Faunus blinked several times, her eyes blurring and tearing up. Leaning forward, Clara stretched her arms and legs, automatically the same way an regular feline would. Groaning from her back cracking, she loosened up and hung her feet over the side of the bed and looked around, rubbing her eyes.


"Good moorrr...nnning.." she mumbled halfway through a yawn. Her ears twitched in annoyance to her hair being messy, tufts and tangles everywhere.

Indigo

Indigo woke up lazily to hear the scroll make a noise next to him. He turned the buzz off without opening his eyes, it took several attempts.


After he was finally done with that, he opened his eyes to see him not in his room. It was very unfamiliar to him, so he was very confused for a second. When he heard the scroll rang again, he looked at it to see 2 circles, a red one and a green one. He pressed the red one because of his natural instincts and a voice came through a few moments later.


"Hey kid, I know you might be asleep right now but I heard you had an accident. I'll be coming in 2 days, afternoon. I would come sooner, but there can only be so many flights."


The scroll turned off automatically. Indigo didn't take long to fully awake. "So, what's for our first day?"

Z reacted as soon as the scroll made a noise. She sat up instantly and turned it off. "Wake up team mates. We have an important day today." She said excitedly.

"Hmmm?"


Clara looked over to the scroll and lazily tried to paw it closer to her. As she leaned over, her tail twitched from under her top. She froze, her eyes widening. She felt her top move from behind. Exhaling, she continued to reach for her scroll, pretending nothing had happened.


Picking up her scroll, she opened it and read the message on screen.


"What do you guys think? What would you like to do?" she spoke up, yawning again.

Reis sat up in bed the training the night before had really helped with her sleep deprivation. As she turned off the alarm on the scroll she stood and moved to her locker grabbing out her change of clothes. Using the door for cover she changed quickly as she perused the missions sent down from higher. There were a lot of options but she would wait to get everyones input. In her new outfit which looked mostly the same as always, a black hoodie and short denim shorts with converse type sneakers she turned to her teamates. "We have to decide on a mission, suggestions?" She asked her voice very calm as if not really in the conversation.

Jade woke up with a tired groan, needing to prod at her scroll a few times to make it switch off the alarm. Touchscreens didn't work well with gloves. She sat up, a look of slight irritation on her face. Good thing that her pyjamas had long sleeves, although it occurred to her that she probably looked like a complete idiot for going to bed with gloves on. Oh well. Better that her teammates thought she was an idiot than some kind of freak, right?


She looked at Navi, who was already up. And energetic. Way too energetic for the morning, if you asked her. "Who invented mornings? Man, I've been in a freaking coma for two months, and I still feel like I need more sleep." she rolled out of bed, landing on the floor with an impressive thump and a very slight clanking noise. Okay, metal sounds. She had to remember not to run into stuff. Or fall onto floors to pick a random example. "Just gotta wake up. Gimme a minute." she muttered, standing up properly after a few seconds, flinging open the curtains to let some light in to the room. "Morning guys. Time for a new day and all that."


Now that she'd actually gotten out of bed, she was starting to feel a lot better. Always was like this in the morning.

[The Elder]

Joseph woke up giving a tired groan while stretching about in his bed. He sat up stretching out his arms. He groans yet again. He places his feet on the floor and slouches over rubbing his eyes. Good morning guys. He said yawning. How did y'all sleep?? He asked looking up at his friends.


He grabbed his scroll and flipped through it seeing if he has gotten any new notifications. Only one caught his eye. The mission tab. So many missions were listed but only some were faded out and the others had golden borders around them as if it's recommended. Hmm so is anyone interested for going on a mission today?
