Fandom RWBY: A New Year At Beacon

Lazuli

"Well, hi Iri . . . a . . . "

Once again looking toward the guy she had set a girl loose on, Lazuli froze for a bit as the girl ran right past him. Huh . . . So there really was an Accel . . . Well, that was disappointing. Or at least it was until the girl very much tackled some random guy, causing them both to roll down the ramp. That was something at least. Still, it would've been better to see the first one go down.

Then, realizing that her being silent was probably weird, Lazuli returned her attentions back to Iria. But what should she say? Lazuli didn't make many friends back in Atlas. She didn't exactly have time for them. Even now, she didn't approach Iria to make friends, but rather so that the girl could be her cover for her little scheme. Great . . . How do you social?! Thinking back, her mother was very good at socializing. How the hell does she talk to those other ladies during their tea times?

"How's your . . . son . . . doing?" Wait. That's not right. This girl looked too young to have a kid. Well, maybe not. Teens are getting awfully bold these days. Though she probably shouldn't just assume people are mothers when she sees them. "Whoops. Guess that jet lag is really getting to me," she laughed off. "Or maybe it's this goddamn heat!" She feigned dizziness as she said so. "I like the cold much better. Though that may be because I'm from Atlas. Maybe we should just get to the amphitheater. Those things are typically air conditioned, right?"

Grizz awoke as soon as the announcement came on which was perfect timing even if he looked tired he was awake now so it was all A-Ok. He looked around at all the commotion and chewing on some jerky tearing through peices pretty quickly his eyes looking quite bored and angry. But he was not he just looked grumpy because you know, that was just how Grizz looked. He noted some interactions one with some hotshot kid who thought he was all that with a bunch of girls. One who seemed too nosey in his book and another who was playing card game. Or at least he used to then had walked over and looked disturbed about how he was snoring. Oh boy Grizz could not wait to show his group how great his snoring ability was. Grizz got up almost hitting the top of the airship his body a hairy mess and his beard starting to get more then fuzzy. Grizz grumbled and chewed some more his sharp teeth bared as he scratched his back and waited for the door to open and allow him to leave.

He soon enough left the airship not really talking to many people because he was kinda a scary guy. I mean a giant hulking monster like him was something people did not want to deal with. He witnessed a fight right off the bat and kept walking. He honestly could care less at the moment, he really wanted to just go get this over with so he could go sleep. He kept chewing on pieces of jerky slowly having the most bored expression on his face as he pushed past people a little hunched over because his weapon was pretty heavy. Those things were pretty much impossible to steal from him, that and they locked onto his hands once he fought with them. Heavy feet drug across the ground as he walked towards the omnitheatre was it...he could not remember already. He really sucked with this memorization thing. On his way there he saw a young girl and the blue one with her who was butting into the weird preppy white guys mob of chicks.

He walked past but before doing so measured himself to the two. He starred at the one girl for a while, the Ariana one. He felt like he would see her again, like deja vu was it. Eh or was that like something else. He again sucked at this stuff. He really did not want to talk to people right now. Eventually he caught up to Pit and Hei who he really did not want to deal with, the one kid already fought someone and the girl seemed to be a picker. A person who like to pick at people till they broke and all. They were quite small to Grizz and if she tried anything on him she would have fun, he legit could care less about people. Hence why he had survived a long time, he just ignored the haters because he could honestly care less. But they were in his way and were now shaking hands standing still in his way "I would save pleasantries for later, dunno if you will survive and all. Now y'all are kinda in the way" he says in a blunt fashion but he seemed really chill to be honest and he looked forward and not at them oddly, like he had lost train of thought, he was also still chewing on jerky.

((
@Sensei Fox @SirFlabberghaspy ))

Pit liked that name, red, had a charm to it. She noticed as Hei royally fucked their meeting, holding up her hand for a solid minute before he noticed. "Oh. Sorry," the guy said as he grabbed her hand. "I'm Hēi", the blondie finished.

"The name's Pit", she'd reply.

Whatever, he was probably some kind of introvert, only going to Beacon because he had nothing else to do. That was admirable, the will to go do something dangerous just because, Pit needed people like that. She was about to say something after thinking on it, before some faunus approached them from behind. A blunt statement came from him, "I would save pleasantries for later, dunno if you will survive and all. Now y'all are kinda in the way."

"Ah, sorry", Pit mustered as she stepped out of Grizz's way. The guy seemed pretty chill, despite his appearance. Although, he did slightly smell like jerky, Pit could only assume that was what the faunus was chewing. All in all, he seemed like he'd be fun to mess with later, especially if he was like almost every other faunus here with some kind of tortured past or connection to the White Fang.

Scars equal sexy~

Pit turned to face the amphitheater, eager to meet this Professor Ozpin. If he was anything like she heard, he'd be a very interesting person to meet. Although, he could also be a pain in the ass if he was connected to that terrorist network. As Pit thought on it, her head began to pound. Trying to forget all that business was the only reason she came, and yet she found herself thinking about it.

Maybe Beacon will give me answers...

? Summary: Airiana is dragging poor Lazuli towards the amphitheater. ?

Oblivious she was to Lazuli's plan, she did notice the strange pause as she glanced over at Lazuli to see what may be the problem. It seemed something caught her attention behind and following after what she was staring at, she noticed a couple -- or so she assumed to be a couple -- being quite 'lovey-dovey' over each other -- one-sided for the girl -- as they rolled down the ramp onto the ground. Letting out a soft giggle at the commotion they made, Airiana didn't notice Lazuli turned back towards her until she bought about... her son's well-being,"W-what?! I-i-" She didn't have a son though she did have a younger brother but that was different!

By Lazuli's question, Airiana was already turning to a bright red as she was confused what to say but soon calmed down when Lazuli corrected herself saying the heat may have got to her,"O-oh." Letting out a giggle, the awkwardness soon subsided as her cheeks returned back to it's natural color,"I believe so and we should hurry." Airiana stated now remembering that they should get there before they were late as she took hold of Lazuli's hand without hesitation,"Let's run to get out of this heat!" She exclaimed already dragging her along in a dash towards the amphitheater as they ran past the other students until they reached the dome building where they were welcomed by cool air and audible chattering echoing inside the building.

Hēi shuffled to the side slightly to let the previously sleeping student pass. "Sorry, go ahead." The other student obviously wasn't looking for confrontation. Anyone that could sleep that heavily on an airship in the middle of a crowd of people wasn't likely to have a volatile personality. He actually seemed to be fairly serene, despite the fact that he was talking about the fact that someone might die in the following day. That fact was slightly disturbing in itself. However, Hēi was determined to survive this year comfortably. After the student had passed, Hēi followed inside and took in the scene of the amphitheater. He found a place in the crowd just as the lights lowered slightly.

Professor Ozpin walked up to the stage and took his place at the microphone. He looked like every picture ever taken of him, minus the cup of coffee. His hand reached up slightly and adjusted his glasses slightly before his voice projected from the microphone to the students. "Welcome, everyone, to Beacon Academy. I am Professor Ozpin, your headmaster for the year. Tomorrow, you'll be taking your first test to truly see if you're fit to remain here as a student at Beacon. This test will also decide your team for the remainder of your stay at Beacon. We'll discuss that more tomorrow when the time comes. As for the remainder of today, you may explore the campus until sundown. Then, you'll take up residence in the gymnasium for the night. Your bags and luggage have already been moved there. Tomorrow morning, you will all meet me at the cliffs for your test. You'll find all the information you need about the campus and the schedule you are to keep on your scrolls. Please, don't be late tomorrow and prepare yourself accordingly." Ozpin nodded slightly before walking off the stage.

(Skip to that night at the gymnasium for additional socializing and getting @Shade Wraith into'd before we move on)

Hēi sat cross legged on top of his bedroll in the gymnasium. In front of him, he had his deck of cards separated by suit. Each suit had the symbol and color of one of the four main types of Dust. The cards featured the usual designs, but with curling lines of color on the faces and a mirror finish on the backs. To his right sat four small bowls containing dust, each with a small pen-like instrument sitting in it. Hēi took the handle of one of the tools from a bowl full of bright red dust and began tracing it over the face of a blank card. The tip of the instrument dug into the metal and left behind the red dust it had been setting in. In one corner, he carved out the shape of an A. He then started carving the symbol of fire in the middle of the card to give an actual design to the Ace he wanted. Finally, with the actual card markings finished, he began tracing fine lines and curls around the card's face to create intricate designs like the tips of fire. He was focused on the task and didn't pay much attention to the gymnasium full of students doing their own thing.

Keppel had completely gone unnoticed on the airship and even on the school ground he was either avoided or wasnt seen. It was to be expected after all. One he was a Faunus and two he had six swords. What person in their right minds would speak to him? Deciding there was no point in delaying his approach to the Amphitheater he headed that way only to spot a black haired girl with a large black bow walking by. "Why is she... I see so that is what is going on." He smirked to himself a bit.

Even on campus the students who were like him were hiding eho they were. He adjusted the straps on his back and continued what he was doing. Outside the Amphitheater he listened to the headmaster from the doorway, his back leaning against the wall. 'At least he isn't against us like other humans. So that's a plus.' He thought looking at the other students. He was used to being alone so being away from the crowd of people made him feel just fine.

"So now we rest hm?" He said turning away after hearing the last of what he said. "Whatever they throw at me, I will be sure to come out on top." He once more disappeared from the view of the other people and walked to were they were designated in the Gymnasium. Finding a place to lay down, he removed all six of his swords and placed them by his side as he threw the covers over himself. He didn't want anyone talking to him for now.

Ron had stayed silent through Ozpin's speech, though whether it was natural silence or due to the stampede this morning was anyone's guess. Now he was just lying against a wall, foregoing a sleeping bag to stare at his own schematics. He only had so much time to get his ideas for-

"Hey you!!!"

Ron pulled his schematics down just to catch a high-heel to the nose, the shout had warned Ron, so despite the impact he was able to stay still. As the High-heel bounced off he found himself suddenly surrounded by four oddly-familiar girls. Two blue haired twins, a large green-haired girl with rage implemented all over he features and a blonde haired girl taking pictures of him off to the side. Green head pointed a finger accusingly, "Don't just sit there looking idiotic! What do you plan on doing about this?!?"

Ron just blinked, he only had a vague idea of knowing these girls from somewhere. Though in practice he really couldn't pinpoint them. Then the hothead pointed to the side, Ron followed her finger to the heel she apparently threw at him. He noticed the heel was broken but other than-

"You're gonna pay for breaking my heel!"

And there was the connection

"You guys were in that group of girls who mauled me earlier." Ron thought out loud, the blonde photographer waving hello and the twins merely glancing at each other as the green-haired girl grounded her teeth together

"Mauled shmauled!" she barked "You broke my heel, and I expect full compensation!"

"You probably broke it while you were wedging it into my ribs." Ron pointed out "Why did you guys run me over anyway?"

"Oh darling," the blonde waved "I was keeping up with the crowd of course. The desperate race for love is a sight only a true photographer like myself could capture in all its eloquence."

Ron just blinked before one of the twins answered for her.

"Okay see, there was this one hot guy. And he like, gave us a challenge." one started right before the other one picked up

"And whoever, like, won that challenge got to be certified hunk arm candy for the rest of forever."

"I got run over by about twenty four pairs of heels," Ron said as he felt out each word of the completely ridiculous sentence he was forced to speak "just so you could win a guy?"

"Like duh," the other twin answered as she checked her nails "haven't you, like, been listening to our words of wisdom, bro?"

Ron put a hand to his head the sheer stupidity effecting him in ways that would make grown hunters shudder.

"Eh, I just wanted to race," Green hair chuckled before regaining her accusatory glare at the Large Mechanist "just don't forget the repair fee for that high heel!"

"Repair fee, why?" Ron asked before shaking his head "You guys just admitted to running me over."

"Ha!" Green head laughed "You make it sound like we're giving you a choice on the matter, chump."

With that the girls left, but not before Ron was flashed by another camera light. Well, he's already made enemies, Albeit non-threatening enemies but enemies all the same. If he didn't have to worry about getting stuck on a team of talentless hacks it was worry that he'd get attacked by the Stampede at any inconvenient point.

All because he was unlucky enough to get between them and a guy. Oh...Joy...

With that unpleasant thought, Ron slowly reached over and grabbed the discarded, broken high-heel. He'd probably be able to easily make her a new one if it'd keep her from annoying him 24/7. So after slipping it into his pack and lying up against his case once more, Ron went back to schematic reading.

Saffron payed very...close attention to the headmasters speech.... It almost looked as if she saw stairing him down, barely taking her eyes off of him, she of course did this so she could read his lips.... Get the gist of what he's saying while still listening to music, but to the outside observer... She just looked at him nonstop...

Later that night in the gymnasium Saffron simply sat on her mat tapping her staff at a very slow pace, making small pulses that barely stretched to a foot in any direction. She noticed the high heel flying across the room.... Hitting some guy. Saffron snickered a little bit...perhaps is was the idea that she'd do that in a combat situation. She followed the conversation...somewhat keeping track. She had the desire to confront the gaggle of ladies.... Tell them to back off...maybe knock some sense into the snobs....but saffron was already tired, didn't really want to start a rivalry so early, but rest assured... This bugged her to no end.

(Whoops hit enter too early)

Argus was regretting every second that he was awake now, he was nowhere near tired and that only promised bad things for the ceremony tomorrow. All of that sleep he had gotten on the airship was now biting him at the worst time, as he merely regarded the large open amphitheater with all of his fellow first year applicants. It's not anything like Argus expected, stuffing all of the first years into the same room to have it out for space and then challenge them with a trial, most likely of combat, the very next morning. Argus honestly wondered what that headmaster Ozpin was thinking, but it's not like he could do much about it at this point. He was more involved with taking in all of the different first years that were crammed into this gymnasium.

'Come on Argus, it's not what you expected, but you got to make the best of it.' Argus really did want to make the most of a relatively bad situation, at least in Vacuo he would have known a few other first years and had a connection to some of the teachers. Her in Vale, it was a complete a total blank for him. 'That doesn't matter though you block foot, it's time to get out of your stupid mood and get to establishing yourself!' he could hear any number of his family telling him to do this in an admonishing manner. For a moment, Argus was actually thinking about getting up and interacting.

He didn't move from where he was currently seated with his belongings, still staring absentmindedly out a window. It was well into night at this point, half of the people in the room had gone to sleep, and more than a good number were settling down, outside of the random squabble it seemed. 'Honestly, what feud do those girls have with that guy?' Which was a major negative for trying to get up and socialize right NOW. He sighed slightly, maybe tomorrow he could try, otherwise he would probably just end up getting rude stares for waking someone up, and he didn't feel like making any type of enemy just yet.

Argus settled onto the floor with eyes wide open, hoping that sooner or later he could force himself to sleep, and prepare for whatever Beacon and headmaster Ozpin planned to throw at them tomorrow.

Lazuli

As the two entered the amphitheater, Lazuli almost immediately left Iria behind, being beckoned by something particularly shiny. Though it turned out to be some kid's bald head. Poor poor soul, she thought, making sure to also note that premature baldness was indeed a thing. She'd have to tell her brother later.

Though her eyes were still being captivated by baldy's incredibly shiny head, she was able to pay attention to Ozpin's speech. The typical sort of thing you'd expect from welcoming speeches. Words designed to motivate them, followed by their instructions for the evening.

~~~~~
Setting up her little "bed" for the night was easy. Well, once she was able to find the things she needed amongst her things. The search itself though was a tad . . . trying. She hadn't exactly packed just the "essentials". A bit odd that it took so long though, considering most of her stuff was dust.
Lazuli settled onto her bedroll, nestled something of a fort made of luggage and tucked into the corner of the gymnasium. PJs on, she tugged at the sleeve of her oversized shirt, making sure it went past her knuckles with no way of rolling up unexpectedly. Once everything was secure, she plopped down on her little "bed", pulling her knees up to her chest, now ready for her favorite hobby.
People watching.
Eyes darting about the room, she watched all sort sof mundane scenes. A couple of friends catching up with one another. One boy writing a letter for some reason. Another playing with cards. For some reason, watching things like there always calmed her down, though she'd never admit to it or why. It was just . . . peaceful.
Though her peace was soon ended when a hand tapped on her shoulder. It was the girl whe had talked to earlier, the one she had convinced to tackle a guy.
Shit.
Her muscles tensed as she began to shift her weight onto her legs. Should this girl start yelling, Lazuli was more than ready to run. She'd try to lose her in the crowd, though she wasn't sure how effective that would be. There weren't many people around with hair the same color as her . . . But still, that didn't change her plan to book it when things turned ugly. The funny thing is though, they didn't.
The girl immediately hugged Lazuli, filling the blue-eyed girl with a sense of disgust and discomfort so high, she had started shaking, perhaps out of fear. What . . . what was this person doing? What was Lazuli supposed to do? Was this ***** trying to cop a feel? Lazuli's head began filling with questions that remained unanswered when the girl let go soon after.
She then began thanking Lazuli. Telling her that this Accel guy was really happy she made the first move. That they were going to start dating. And once she was done, without even allowing Lazuli to reply, she ran off to her sweetheart while saying she was going to bring her friend over for dating advice as well.
What . . . What just happened? Did . . . did she just unknowingly do a good thing? How? What ungodly luck must she have had for this to happen? What-Oh shit! She's coming back!
Lazuli scrambled to get back, hiding behind one of her suitcases. Luggage fort protect her! Fortunately, the thing was able to hide Lazuli's small frame, or at least seemed so, judging by how the girl had came and went rather quickly.
Finally drifting off to sleep he felt a nudge on his shoulder, growling he opened his eyes to see a petite girl shaking a little. "What is it?" He watched her closely, he was trying to sleep and it was bad enough with all the noise. But now this girl had to ruin his cat nap. "This better be good."
He took a couple of sniffs in the girls direction, 'is she a Faunus as well?' He wondered, 'she smells like one.' "Its just..." she starts to tear up, "a couple of the girls were picking on me... I..."
"Where?" She pointed. He got up his eyes narrowed, his hands in his pockets as he approached a gaggle of girls. As he got closer he hear one say, "hes cute."
"Hey you three." He pointed to the girls then he cracked his neck, the sound was loud enough to quiet the room. His tone went from that of a normal person to a very ominous growl, "I will say this once and one time only. If you got a problem with Faunus you have a problem with me. Yeah we are different from you but I swear if I hear you ever disrespect another one I will personally make your lives a living hell. Go to sleep." Terrorified they shakingly got into their area and went to sleep.
"I swear. These Faunus haters are all the same." Walking back to his cot he laid down and gestured for the little Faunus to lay beside him. He held her as if she was his little sister though they never knew each other until then. "I will protect you, so go to sleep."
"I will, thanks." She buried her head in his chest and fell right to sleep. Then after making sure she was fast asleep he too dozed off.
Oerach Gwyn
Finally inside the Amphitheater, Oerach listened to Professor Ozpin's words very carefully and seriously. He didn't intend on missing any information, or else he would be lost in a sea of students with no idea on what to do. Everything seemed pretty straight forward, until Ozpin spoke about the first night in the gymnasium. Oerach almost fainted when he heard such a thing. He already had enough problems with his "fan girls" in the ship and now he had to survive a night in a gymnasium packed with crazy chicks? It seemed like the universe was punishing him for his promise of focusing at Beacon.
----
Before entering the gymnasium, Oerach covered himself in black blanket to try to hide as much of his body as possible. He didn't want those girls spotting him again, and didn't have any better options. It was this or sleeping outside. His whole body was covered up, with only his bright pink eyes and nose popping out trough a small opening. He looked ridiculous, but he couldn't put his well being at risk. He wanted to have a good night of sleep before his first test at Beacon and didn't want it ruined by rabid girls.
As he walked around trying to find a spot to lay his bed for the night, most students were looking at him clueless on what he was doing, but it seemed to be working. A lot of girls who before tried to rip his head out with hugs, were now looking at him with a confused expression in their face. Stumbling around, Oerach finally found a place that was open enough for him to set up his bed. Holding tight onto the blanket covering him so it wouldn't fall, he placed a bedroll on the floor.
Laying on his bed, still covered in his blanket, Oerach was about to fall asleep but was abruptly interrupted by a female voice that sounded really excited, even this late at night.
Oerach sighed in frustration and slowly lifted his head to look around. The talking came from a corner in the gymnasium. Everything seemed pretty normal, just loud people talking when others are trying to sleep. Everyday stuff. However, between the two females who were talking, one clearly didn't seem to enjoy it that much. She didn't even seem like she was talking at all. Oerach slowly recognized her... The blue eyed girl! The one that "saved" Oerach and gave him the brilliant idea of fooling those stupid fan girls back when they first arrived. I have to thank her... Without her I would be a slave by now... He thought to himself, getting up slowly ready to thank the girl.
Adjusting his black blanket, he slowly approached the corner where the blue eyed girl was. The talkative girl had already left, and left Miss Blue Eyes hiding behind one of her suitcases. Oerach carefully approached her. She looked terrified enough already, she probably wouldn't enjoy gettting scared more. He cleared his throat before speaking, almost as a warning to the girl that Oerach was present.
"Am I..." He stopped and looked around, checking if the other girl was really gone. "...Interrupting something?" He continued, with a clear confused tone in his voice. "Oh, Excuse me... Where are my manners." He said, almost forgetting he was under the blanket. It would definitely seem weird talking to her with most of his face hidden. Oerach uncovered his face from underneath the blanket, and continued. "My name's Oerach." He said with a warm smile on his face. "You are?" (@amdreams )
Lazuli
Once the girl had left, Lazuli was starting to feel like it was safe to get out, but apparently she was wrong as soon there was another nearby voice. Damnit. What was it about her that was making people talk to her all of a sudden tonight? Did they recognize her? Unlikely since she couldn't imagine too many people from Atlas being here. Was it her hair? Should she have died it before she came here.
Looking toward the source of the voice, she was met with a dark cloaked figure with nothing but a pair of pink eyes and a nose poking out. Her usual smile was still plastered on her face, but her eyes seemed blank. Head cocked to the side and eyebrow raised in confuseiong, she was more fascinated by this person than frightened. Was he a cultist? Some form of druid? A really devoted emo?
But all that interest was lost once the stranger removed his "hood", dropping faster than nevermore feathers during an attack. It turns out that this guy was . . . was . . . who was this guy again? Weird. Lazuli should've remembered such a girly shade of eye. He introdced himself as Oerach, which didn't ring any bells either, and asked for her own name. All in all, this guy seemed boring though.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Oerach," she said, standing up to use all 63 inches of her in a rather poor attempt to seem intimidating. This tactic never really worked but it never stopped her from trying. "But whatever, you're selling, I'm not interested. I'm very happy with my scroll network provider, dust suppliers, etc etc."
Kerria Luxton
Kera awoke only to fine out that she was still one the ship, turned out her narcolepsy kicked in and no one had the niceness to wake her up. Finally exiting the airship Kera yawned, she guessed she had already missed. Entering the school Kera had no idea where to go or what to do luckily since she looked completely lost some nice enough older students told her where to go and everything they remembered from the opening speech since it was basically the same every year. The girls also directed her to the huntress Glynda Goodwitch who told and gave Kera everything she needed.
----
Kera tried to sneak into the gymnasium making as little noise as possible, until she got to the doors. Trying to slowly open one of the doors ended up working against her since to her ears it made a loud screeching noise, the type of noise you get if a door hasn't been tended to in a long time. Deciding to go against the slow quite approached Kera simply opened the door and stepped inside closing it behind her. Looking around it seemed they were even more people than those who came on the airship whether that was because Kera didn't notice them who knows.
Taking a look around Kera really didn't want to randomly fall asleep where she stood, however luckily they was a nice spot open next to a wall, a place she normally slept against. Taking a look around Kera sighed, it seemed everyone had someone to talk to almost like people already knew each other but yet Kera was alone, she never really had many friends her same age they were either older or younger and none of them liked the same things as her one downside of being from a rich family you normally only meet other rich families, oh the joys banquets fancy parties NO Kera didn't like that she wanted to be a hunter not some rich doll.
Reaching into her pocket she pulled out a book, well less of a book but more of a diary one given to her by her teacher, it was a whole set of stories based of actual experiences of her teacher. It was funny really if anyone saw her old teacher the wouldn't believe her teacher wrote this or in-fact did anything that was wrote in this book at all, her teacher was a strange one to say the least. It made Kera laugh thinking about the old days with her teacher, luckily with her head in a book it didn't look that weird. Kera finally got down to reading the book.
Oerach Gwyn
Oerach slightly raised an eyebrow at the girl's response. It didn't seem like she had recognized him. Maybe she wasn't able to see him when he was surrounded by a gang of fan girls before. She could've recognized him for his accomplishments (and failures) in the Mistral regional tourney, but she didn't look like a Mistral girl at all. Maybe she just completely forgot about him. As the girl stood up, Oerach noticed she wasn't far off his 5'8'' figure. "I like your sense of humor, Miss Blue Eyes. But still, that doesn't answer my question." He said with a smirk on his face. She seemed different from the others, and at least didn't seem like a total idiot. "You probably don't remember me. But you helped me out earlier today." Oerach said with a smile full of gratitude. "If it weren't for you I'd probably still be in the grasp of those... girls..." Oearch chuckled, mostly out of relieve.
He wasn't usually this nice to people, especially to girls. If it wasn't for him being at Beacon or wasn't for his promise, by now he would've already tried hitting on her and try to seduce her. But he needed friends at Beacon if he wanted to succeed. She looked like someone good to start with and after all, she did "help" Oearch escape a tough situation so he couldn't show her anything but a smile.
"Anyways, if you ever need help just call for me. I really owe you one." He extended his right arm trough an opening in his "hood", offering an handshake. This handshake was more of a way to form an alliance with her then anything else.
Lazuli
" . . . "
Lazuli looked from Oerach's face to his hand and back again. This guy can't take a hint, can he? She was not interested in anything he was selling. Not even himself. He could've done better to advertise himself. Some unflattering black cloak was no way to work the corner. Though even if he was the best dressed escort on the market, she would still be uninterested. In her experience, people didn't approach her without some ulterior motive. Every person she saw march in and out of her home, every person who tried to talk to her at school, even she never got close to people unless she could get something out of it. So the hand held out to her was suspicious.
Still, it was probably best not to make enemies.
Lazuli, still smiling, took Oerach's outstretched hand, but rather than shaking it, she pushed it away. "Good night, Mr. Oerach," she said, avoiding the situation completely. Then, without waiting for him to leave, she turned away from him, plopped down onto her bedroll and made it seem like she was busy preparing for bed.
Grizz particularly could sleep through the speech but he was respectful and stayed awake and watched Ozpin wondering if he would even survive this experience. At least his tombstone would say something like "Was too lazy to bother fighting the grimm" would be a sick tombstone to be honest. Grizz chilled by the back his breaths quite husky and deep and could be heard by people around him. He was getting tired of all this, I mean he could have settled down and lived a happy life and a lazy one full of nothing but being a lazy mechanic. It could have been a nice life but now he was stuck in this whole destined to be the next great hunter....man it would be so much work. And it would really suck sometimes. And he might die which would be a drag. But alls fair in hunter academy or whatever this place was called. He probably would not live long. But I mean he had a good run...or did he, he had not met that much people, he also did not have a girlfriend....Hmmm he really needed to live tomorrow because dying would really ruin his chances with a chick.
After the speech ended and the day passed all the new kids all gathered in some place to sleep. To be honest Grizz could care less where it was just as long as he could sleep like a bear when he got there. Grizz threw himself into a bedroll on the floor near some people. He did not really pay attention who they were, he just noticed cards and layed there. He was not eating and smelled normal now but in his other bag was a bunch of junk food, of course. I mean what he got hungry in the middle of the night. Then now he would have lods of food to eat while the others slept. He was about to fall asleep and start snoring like a madman but decided he wanted to stay awake for a little while longer. He thought about talking to some people but felt like not putting too much of an effort into anything really.
Keppel found himself dreaming about the death of his teachers. Why had all six of them had to die? Humans were true monsters, unfeeling, unkind, hating that which they didnt understand. He promised himself long ago that he eould never get close to humans but along the way he found that there were such things as good humans. He would have to see which of the people in this gaggle of humans were actually good and which were evil. He opened his eyes a bit to look at the little Faunus girl, if he had a sister, a blood related sister, would she look like her?
He petted the top of her head, he wouldn't let anyone speak ill of her. He looked up to see that the girls were still asleep and he continued looking at everyone else. A guy walked by and asked in a whisper, "Are you to two together?" Keppel shook his head and the guy shrugged, "well you are at least siblings right?" Thinking about it for a bit Keppel gave off a small nod which made the guy nod understangingly. "Now that makes more sense. Sorry for bothering you." He walked away and the girl continued sleeping but a small smile could be seen on her face. He could have sworn he heard her say big brother but he thought it must have been him hearing things.
Scratching his head he realized he needed to go back to sleep so he would have energy for the morning. "What a pain," he muttered dozing off.
Coming into the rather large chamber everyone had gathered, a boy with black hair which spiked up all around and a bag in hand took a breath as he looked around. Everyone getting ready for bed, per usual, well it would be nice to crash himself, find a nice little spot to throw down his mattress and drop into sleep. Walking around trying to make his way through the bodies sleeping all around the room, to find a spot for him to fit.
All these people clustering up together, ah man, he doesn't want to bug anyone, maybe sleeping along the outer edge might work. So with a bit of a turn he began to walk his way over around, trying to not cause much of a ruckus. And soon a nice little spot he found, just a bit isolated away from everyone else, just a little bit, shouldn't be too bad. Jack walked over to a bit to try to get boys attention. "Pssst, PSSSST, hey, hey dude, duude, you don't mind if I bunk here do ya? Sorry for bothering, sorry eheh, just all crowded everywhere, can breathe a bit here ya know?" He said giving a bit of a awkward smile glancing around before moving his gaze back over to teenage machinist. Trying to slowly lower his stuff down.
"I don't own the school," Ron stated as he tapped away on his control gauntlet "do what you want."
Feeling confident in his control Gauntlet's aptitude, Ron switched off and placed it into his case until morning. He went to reach for All-In-One when he rethought it and grabbed the broken high heel from earlier. It was small, intricate but fixable. Ron groaned inwardly at the sight of it, but knew that as a master of craft such as himself he'd be able to even improve upon its earlier design. Hell, he was going to the woods tomorrow, there'd be plenty of raw materials just lying around.
"In all honesty," the Large Mechanist mumbled "I'm not planning on getting much sleep."
"Thanks." Jack said with a nod, putting his stuff onto the ground placing them around nearby along with his folded up weapon off to the side against the wall. and taking a seat down to take a look over to see what Ron was doing.
It was at this point Jack noticed the large blade he had, and how it looked kinda odd? Seems to be working with a broken high heel? Probably fixing it Jack had thought to himself.
He perked up when Ron spoke out again, with his latest comment, Jack took a look over at him. "Fixing stuff? or just looking over your stuff for tomorrow?" he asked, before following up with another string of words. "Per chance, did you build that thing?" Jack asked trying to scoot up a bit. "Looks kinda complex."
Ron stared at the broken high heel with, his semblance allowing him to identify its tailored style and such. He was so focused he almost missed the other guy's words.
"I'm fixing up a piece of woman's footwear and need to identify its structural integrity for the fitting." Ron responded, at the next question he glanced over to All-In-One "I am the individual who constructed that weapon, yes."
Holding the high heel in one hand he pointed towards All-In-One and stated "This is the All-In-One Model #12, featuring over 23 different weapons in one."
"TWENTY THREE?!" Jack yelled before covering his mouth taking a glance around, a bit embarrassed by that sudden surprise yell, he tried to play it off, just acting like he did nothing before trying to very silently talk again to Ron. "Twenty three?" jack looked at him a bit oddly. "That's kinda a lot, you know how to use each one?" Jack said with a minor bit of awe, so this guy made a sword that can turn into twenty three different things? That's amazing! Jack has only been manageable to get four so far, including Knildred's retracted form, stuff gets complicated when parts start moving around and clashing together.
"I've only managed to get my sword to turn into three weapon forms, if you include the retracted form, then four. Even then i don't imagine I could manage that many different styles of weapons at once." Jack gave a sigh leaning against the wall, "Its cool though, very cool, by the way, why not just use some sort of adhesive to repair the heel? Something that will keep it together and doesn't come off easily."
"I have more than enough time to be fluent in the use of my own armory." Ron replied as he measured the base of the heel in proportion to his hand "The difference between a weapon like yours and a weapon like mine is that you most likely built more weapons into a base weapon. With mine, I had to build the base around the weapons, like playing lethal jenga. One disproportioned blade and suddenly you find yourself one limb lighter."
At the next question, Ron sighed to himself "That simply cannot be done, that heel failed this piece of footwear the moment it broke, and therefore I must build my own piece to improve where it lacked."
"What? No no, I built the sword in a base form, just a sword, then made it so it could contract upon itself, then decided, Oh, lets add a dust cannon! Oh oh! maybe see if we can amplify it, and due to that last one one form in between was created. Its kinda neat seeing what you can make just messing around with ideas and designs and sudden light shining upon a creation. Think smartly with these things, not like a idiot and just go, LETS PUT THIS WITH THIS, and then suddenly it explodes on you." Jack finished off with various hand motions during his minor speech. Before thinking about the other thing he said.
"Wait, so your gonna build a new one? Wouldn't it be more practical to just fix it up, make it look nice, and brand new? Well I guess you have your ways of doing things at least."
