Fandom RWBY: A New Year At Beacon

Jack crossed his arms, eyes fixated on her as she spoke out up at him. "Well lets get moving then!" the tall boy exclaimed with a cheery smile. Followed up by watching her hop up onto the branches and explain it might be safer. "Yea, yea that's much safer, they gotta get up to us, just gives us more time to move." Jack said as he retracted Knildred up and ran over to the tree to hop off against the trunk, and get a arm around the branch to pull himself up.

"Hmm . . . wanna go that way?" Jack said pointing off towards a random direction. "Or we can go that way . . . Ah, you know what, you wanna lead the way?" He asked looking over his shoulder at her, moving his hands to his hips. "You probably would find the way better in these trees than I could lugging this hunk of metal around haha."

Looking at Princess he nodded with understanding. "I agree. It would be stupid to just fight without a plan. Good call partner." He didnt mind her leaning against him, he actually prefered it more then her running off to the shrine. He looked up at the sky and saw a couple nevermores in the distance. Nothing to worry about for now, "since we are going towait might as well learn more each other. Knowing what each of us can do can increase our chance of winning."

He said that and looked in her direction a bit, his eyes still in search of Grimm to fight. How much about himself would he tell her? Just how he fights? How long he has been fighting? There were so many things he could say to her.

Argus was glad that he and Hēi and hit enough friendly enough, he seemed like a laid back sort, and that was just fine with him. He could probably do with someone who could help him to relax a bit more away from home. They had barely begun to talk when he heard a very large amount of commotion coming through the forest at them. Argus readied his hammer-head but let it drop slightly as he saw a Grimm plow almost face first into a tree, followed closely by a girl that seemed to be giving chase with an absolute fury until she saw him and Hēi, at which point she turned friendly enough. Argus didn't really trust himself to talk all that much ,and simply nodded her a greeting. He remained quiet, and simply kept his down cast downward until he heard the girl, he remembered it was Saffron, mention a hammer. Argus looked up surprised as he looked at Saffron, and then to Silfr Geisa and realized he hadn't shifted into its' original cannon-head form.

"Oh, thank you for reminding me." Argus quickly shifted the weapon into a spear that held a large cannon head with an under slung blade attachment, nodding slightly as he turned back address Saffron.

"Right, hammer, um, bro you could say; they say work with what you know, and I guess being an aspiring blacksmith influenced more than I thought. I've been rude, pardon me missah. I am Argus Volund of the frontier, a pleasure to meet you." He quickly caught up from walking behind her to her side offered the same disarming smile as he offered his right hand forward to shake while holding Silfr Geisa in his left while they were waling along. He only hoped that Saffron had the same reaction as Hēi to it. Argus didn't know why, but he felt like he was becoming increasingly self-conscious, and was determined to prove to himself that he wasn't as he bad as he thought. @pridedzoey @Sensei Fox

" oh...well nice to meet you...Argus" she shook his hand with her free hand then promptly let go. She continued walking... More or less following Hei's lead. She sized up both of them, their potential combat effectiveness...well she supposed these two could make for a decent team, one of them had a weapon that looked like... It certainly could do some damage. She was uncertain about Hei...but she assumed if he made it to beacon, he can't be all that bad, though she knows well enough that isn't always the case... But hey optimism isn't for nothing right?

She felt the rush from combat still dominating her body... She fought the need to just... Rush off ahead, she taps the end of her staff into the ground with every step she took....making a couple of soft thuds in the ground... This somewhat calmed her agitated nerves, but she knew only time could completely forgo this agitation. She keeps moving forward...hoping that this feeling will pass very soon.

? Summary: Having a friendly conversation while running away from any Grimm. ?

Pleased that Jack came along, she felt that their teamwork together will go swell with little problems as long as they stick together avoiding danger. Where they should start to find the artifacts now was the problem along with getting a team. Though, they were strong enough to fight, just the two of them wouldn't be able to fend off all these Grimm for long and it would slow them down on finding the artifacts. Given the privilege to lead the group, Iria took in her surrounding though she wasn't quite sure where to start. The two were stuck but she did have one method in mind, trust her guts and just go with the flow,"
Uhh... well... I'm not sure where to start but let's cover this part of the forest and we'll go from there."

At her words, she headed off towards the direction she chose randomly by choice with a silent prayer that they would stumble upon the artifact by luck instead of going around in circles and even fail to find a team,"
While we're at it, let's try to find some people to help us! Just the two of us alone won't do for long." She called back hopping from one branch to another but keeping a steady pace to let Jack catch up to her as he was a human unlike her who was a Faunus,"Also, you can just call me Iria!" She added recalling that he used her full name a lot during their fight with those Beowolves earlier. Her name was pretty long so Iria should be much easier on him to call her by. Now that she think about it... she didn't even know what the artifacts look like in the first place,"Umm... do you happen know what the artifacts look like by any chance, Jack?"

Grizz looked at his new teammate and pictured jerky while he stared at him. God the things he would do if he was truly jerky....Grizz walked with him, they seemed to just be headed in a random direction which meant they might get lost or they might find the Artifacts, I mean 50/50 chance right. Grizz could hear the grimm behind them investigating where they last were because they were yelling so much so he picked up the pace chugging his way past his team mate and deeper into the forest at a hefty speed trying to escape the dangers that lie behind them and in his chugging along he seemingly did not really pay much attention to what was in front of him. It was... the DASTARDLY BUSHHHH. Grizz looked forward only to stumble into a thorn bush. This was not ordinary thorn bush however, it clearly was evil because it attacked him.

Grizz came flying out the other end and smashed into a tree in front of the bush making said tree shake and him groan in anger. However this was no ordinary tree either, no this was the tree that the young Ariana was about to jump to. And the shaky tree would more then likely cause her to fall. And now Grizz had stood up beneath the branch pulling out thorns trying not to make too much noise or the grimm would find them "Hey Ron, lets go find us an artifact, then some food" Grizz says loudly talking to pretty much what looked like a bush, he looked super deranged and his appearance looked like he had been through hell, o what a wonderful day it twas. Grizz grumbled something as his bodies glow seemed to brighten a bit, he had been awake for far too long, soon his semblance would kick in.

? Summary: Fell on Grizz and now apologizing several times. ?

Just as she asked that question, the next hop towards another branch was a critical fail on he part for not watching as she did noticed a few leaves falling and when it was too late, the tree shook abruptly making her lose her balance,"
Wha- Uwahh!" Falling to her doom, she shut her eyes closed and ready for the impact of full on pain, maybe even for the sound of something cracking like her her spine breaking but it didn't came. Instead of pain and the feeling of hard ground, she felt something more like hard, warm with a texture of some fall resistance. Peeking from one eye and then gaining the courage to believe she was alive, Iria glanced around until she looked down to see a large, glowing man with a few leaves and twigs stuck in his hair meaning that he went through some stuff more than what Iria and Jack may have gone through as she gasped,"I-i'm so sorry!" Realizing what she had just done, she quickly got up from her 'cushion' that saved her fall and helped the poor guy up -- or at least try to -- as she checked his injuries,"Are you okay?! I didn't mean to fall on you though you saved me which I thank you for but I didn't mean to land on you, I'm so sorry!"

"Safety in numbers after all." Jack said moving around trying to jump from branch to branch, while he could maneuver around here, and he was actually a bit agile moving around maneuvering normally, its just more or less the fact he was carrying a weapon when extended was almost as big as he was tall and was so fickle on keeping the thing, that its a unfortunate hindrance, that said he probably still couldn't catch up to Iria if she was moving around full on ninja mode.

"Oh uh! Sure Iria! Yea, that might be a bit easier to say than your full name, no offense of course! Just trying to pronounce it quickly and trying to form a sentence before hand just balling up and blugh." he said sticking his tongue out off the side of his mouth, and looking up into the air seeming a bit like what you may or may not think of as a blugh look. Propping himself up again as Iria spoke out again. "Nope! No idea, just look for something that seems special or out of place and that might be it id say. Unless the headmaster really wanted us to tear our hair out trying to find a artifact that looked like a twig or a leaf eheh. . . Would he do that? Like real talk would he try to pull that off?"

Suddenly, she fell, falling towards the ground, swinging around a branch to start slowing him down he went down to check if she's alright, oh god OH GOD SHE LANDED ON A URSA!!! . . . wait, wait no that's just a very very very large guy, he is also glowing a bit apparently, Phew? "Yooo, everything alright down here?" He said taking a glance over, Iria seemed fine, next doing a scan around to check for Grim, quiet so far, at least in his own eyes. Oh, and Ron was apparently here too. "Oh! Hey Ron! You having any luck with this?" He asked Looking at Ron, then back at the big guy with Iria apologizing rapidly, then back to Ron.

@Plushie @BlackJack @GrieveWriter

RON

Ron thought about Grizz's query "Well, the artifact shouldn't be difficult ton find in a test where we're specifically supposed to find them. Beacon's curriculum is based off of being educated and strong, so I'd guess to look somewhere that would require both brains and brawn to reach." Ron nodded before thinking about the other part of the question and araising a finger in thought "Finding food, on the other-"

Ron's answer was cut off as a random girl descended from the heavens on a course for his hungry companion, immediately downing Grizz by sheer suddenness. Ron stood there, finger still up, staring at her as the girl seemed to realize she'd just pummeled someone into the ground and began apologizing furiously.

Ron blinked slowly several times before opening his mouth "Wha-?"

"Yooo, everything alright down here?"

Ron glanced up to spot the guy from yesterday, Jack, looking down from a tree branch.

"Oh! Hey Ron! You having any luck with this?"

Ron put two and two together and placed both hands against his waist before shaking his head "Well, I have a faint idea where they might be." Ron said before nodding towards the Girl and Grizz "But I think this is a more pressing issue at the moment."

Ron folded his arms and shook his head once more "Jack, we all get angry sometimes. Trust me, I would know." Ron placed a hand to his chest, then waved it to the girl and Grizz "But it's not right to go using other living and breathing people as weapons."

Ron sighed, he was quite familiar with the subject, wind blowing dramatically through his hair as he remembered the old times and frowned "I know that I enjoy grabbing somebody by the arms and swinging them like a mace every now and then. But when you start throwing small girls at people it starts being quite a problem. Don't let addiction take hold of you Jack, I had to take treatment for my excessive use of human weaponry for months. Its just...not worth it."

(@Plushie @BlackJack @TenaciousTinkerer )

Jack leaned forward, hearing that he might know where it might be, this comment catching his interest. Then immediately raising a eyebrow as apparently there was something more pressing right now? Jack listened in and slowly began to grow more and more confused the further Ron continue with his comments. "Eh? But I'm not angry, least not that I think I am." He said looking at himself. Jolting his head up at the comment for using people as weapons. "What are you on about? I wouldn't use people as weapons." Jack said in confusion.

Hearing him talk through his last statement Jack leaned back a bit. "Oooookay then, yea uh, sure, I won't do that then, thanks for the pep talk Ron, real great, inspirational and I won't do it again, won't ever try using Iria as some sort of replacement of Knildred trying to see if I can swing her through a Grim or something like that." Jack spoke out, crossing his arms over his knees and just squatted down on the branch. "Using people as weapons, how angry did you get? Geeze." He mumbled to himself.

The thought of that now was racing around in his mind, now curious if there was some sort of kinda questionable tag team with one big hulking guy, and someone just smaller and used as a mace. Or the fact that apparently Ron was addicted to this at some point. He could be messing with him, but it still made his mind go a wiz thinking of all of what could happen. Though he's rapidly coming to the conclusion that he probably shouldn't ask too much about Ron's past addiction with throwing people around, less he knows might be for the better.

Grizz was looking out into the distance at some Grimm who were eating something, who knew what and then he was crushed by a tree, it had to be a tree, the tree wanted its revenge and must have attempted to crush him. Grizz laid in the dirt and then a small faunus girl jumped off and began to apologize rapidly, he got up and started to clean himself off taking her hand to make her believe she was helping but it was clear he was super heavy so she could not do much. He looked down at her hearing Ron come through the brush and another man named Cobalt come down. He grabbed the younger faunuses hand and shook it rapidly almost shaking her whole body "Totally fine there...lady, names Grizzly but you all can call me Grizz" he says looking tired. He had enough of this as is, this was getting agitating now. Not the people just the forced to be sent into a forest with no food or sleep. It sucked. Griz yawned and looked towards the Grimm in the distance, they seemed to go away. Maybe coming for them or not.

Grizz did the same thing he did with Ron the the girl he measured his height then took a knee and did the same "
Man I am still pretty tall, I am not used to this, my guardian and siblings were really tall..." He says not mentioning that his Guardian was actually slightly a genetic mess. He looked at the guy then back at the girl and grabbed her arm and picked it up "Man I could like throw you like a spear if we ever needed you up somewhere high, your not fat right?" Grizz says poking her belly and examining the girl instead of the guy. Grizz clearly did not think before he did anything because he just asked a chick if she was fat, that made men dead men. But then again she probably did not want to hurt a guy like Grizz "Hey...Ron I forgot to mention something really important. You see I need to sleep soon man...IM TIRED" Grizz groaned looking to cobalt and waving.

? Summary: JAGR TEAM UNITE, Airiana is currently being tortured by Grizz. ?

Turning back towards Jack, she nodded towards his direction,"
Everything is fine... sorta." She assured turning her attention back towards the now VERY large man and now that she noticed, he was a fellow Faunus! As the fellow Faunus got up, he took hold of her hand suddenly for a shake though her whole body shook along,"W-woah uhh... Nice to meet you Grizz! I'm Airiana but call me Iria." Looking up, she noticed large bags under his eyes and a cranky expression on his face just like how a bear would look as he let out a loud yawn,"Poor Grizz, has the Grimm exhausted him that much?" She thought seeing he looked so beat up.

While she sympathized for the guy, she soon noticed he was at the same height as her now giving her neck a break from having to look up at his towering height just like Jack. Now, when Grizz bought up the topic about height, she felt that he was trying to imply she was short making her irked by that statement. She even had one of her arms stuck in his grip as he continued on talking about using her as a weapon or something to throw?! Even adding on asking her if she was fat.

This kind of treatment was going too far for her to handle any longer. She had her chest puffed out with pride and a pouty face on ready to bark back at him but it soon died down once he started poking at her stomach,"
Kiii!~ S-stop! Hahahaha!" Giggling, she tried to stop him from poking her stomach any longer as she was very ticklish especially in that area and given a break, she took a moment to breathe after that terrible experience being tickled till she couldn't even breathe properly. Looking over to Jack and Ron weakly, she finally realized that there was another guy who stood next to Jack who didn't even move a muscle to help her as she was being held by a man while being tormented with tickles, her eyes begging Jack to help her even the other guy to do so.

RON

Ignoring Airiana's pleas, Ron began pacing "The way I figure, the Relics will be located in either an area that's hard to reach or out in the open where Grimm can easily spot us. So the easiest solution to actually finding it would be to look for any number of noticeably different places here in the forest. Yes, we need to find landmarks."

With that finished, Ron stopped and turned to Grizz "We're all exhausted in some shape or Form Grizz, but we need to keep going." Ron clenched a fist and glared at the sky "Once this is over, I can fix that heel then find those damn gang members and really get some info out of them."

(@Plushie @BlackJack @TenaciousTinkerer )

Settling down his mind, and doing a sudden flinch hearing Grizz comment on using Iria as a spear, he took a look over towards Iria and Grizz, they seem to be having fun at least. Assuming he doesn't suddenly try launching her out of the stratosphere, turning his attention back to Ron, letting Iria's pleas fly right over his head.

"Makes sense." Jack said thinking over it. "I was just gonna keep on wandering around til something looked out of place, but that's a far better deduction than just wandering around and guessing if its this way or not." Jack said leaning forward and off of the branch he had been stationing atop of, dropping down onto his feet, scanning around the tops of the trees. "Iria so far seems like a pretty good climber, could go and see if she can climb up one of those taller ones and see if she can see anything from there." Jack said before furrowing his brows at the fact he still didn't finish fixing that heel, and gang members? The hell kinda situations does this guy get himself into?

"Er, right, yea faster we do this the better, you get to deal with your stuff, and that, Grizz is his name right?" he commented on pointing over towards Grizz. "Faster he can take a nap too, anyway, with that . . ." Jack said turning around walking over towards Grizz. "Hey, mind putting her down for a sec?" Jack asked looking up at Grizz.

Grizz looked over at the newcomer and shrugged while letting go of the younger girl and staring her up and down "I could like throw her up a tree and have her see or just throw in the air and then catch her" He says looking to the others and shrugging, they really needed to do something because he felt like they were the team that was the furthest behind. He poked the girl one last time quickly then booked it to Ron and looked into the forest and began to walk "Yeah we need to get going soon guys, the Grimm are coming and the other teams are probably making us look like complete noobssss" Grizz groans walking into the bushes and meandering forward hoping to find some team or something. They had to be the last people to grab an artifact, I mean they were so late. Or at least he thought so.

Grizz wandered forward thinking of his team as of now "
So, Ron, Blue guy, Iria, Y'all never told me what your weapons are. We need to know for sick combos right?" Grizz asks still walking forward his voice getting further away and he reached a clearing and some weird structure, he walked towards it, it was up a hill so he groaned and then fell on his knees "WHY, ARE YOU TRYING TO TELL ME IM FAT" He yells at the sky crawling up the hill sweating and panting as he crawled up a hill that was not even that tall. But he still was forcing himself up the hill in a slow crawl like he was too fat to go up it.

Jack sighed as he turned round and began to trail after Grizz. "Its Jack, and I use a sword, hammer, dust laser cannon sorta thing?" He said sorta thinking over how to define it properly. "Still trying to figure out to give it some sort of classification for a weapon, but I just call it Knildred." He said giving a shrug trailing after turning around for a sec.

"Guys, come on! Lets get rollin." Jack shouted turning back around jerking back a bit hearing Grizz curse out at the sky. "Uhh?" he said looking around, then at him waddle crawl his way up the hill. "You, need some help, there? . ." he asked walking over and alongside.

//Just posting idly to see if there can just be something to kill some time eheh.

Kera simple walked around, she was still stuck at the second part of her plan. The first part went by like a breeze since well landing was the easy part. Her second part had been progressively harder, you know who would have thought that trying to find a person would be so hard. Kera sighed and was just about to take a seat out of boredom before she heard rustling nearby, just by the sound it couldn't be human causing a large smile to cover Kera's face. "Finally something to do." Kera said aloud placing a hand on 'Murasama' and turning to where she heard the noise coming from. As in on key a Ursa jumped out. Instantly Kera opened Murasama hatch and shot it facing downwards launching her into the air while keeping the blade sheathed. Upon reaching the same height of the Ursa Kera closed the hatch and smirked. "Goodbye." Kera said pressing her trigger causing Murasama to gain speed before Kera even touched it. Grabbing the blade and swiping it sideways she cut the Ursa in half and landed on it, luckily it made for a nice landing.

Kera knew Ursa normally traveled in pairs or at least the smaller ones did. Hearing rustling a few steps behind her confirmed this. Knowing that she wouldn't have enough time to turn around, she opened her weapons hatch once again and shot it, not only did it propel her forward but it got a good hit on the Ursa not enough to kill it but more than enough to slow it down. Landing feet first on a tree Kera shot her weapon again this time flying right past the Ursa. As she flew past it she mad sure to get on hit off before sheathing her weapon. Doing a small flip at the end Kera landed feet first on another tree and preformed the same action scoring another hit. She decided to repeat this six times just to make sure she had finished it. Slowly she was gaining more and more speed and on the sixth time she only just noticed she had no real way to stop. So she decided just to go one direction until she stopped, sure trees might get in her way but she had a sword trees should be much of a problem or at least that what she thought.

Turned out that trying to rapidly trying to cut down trees in front of Kera wasn't her strong point. She managed to cut down three trees however the forth avenged its comrades and ended up hitting Kera, that slowed her momentum all right. It caused her to go slightly more until she stopped. "Ha that was awesome, painful but awesome." Kera said aloud smiling before looking around. Turned out she landed right in front of some people humans and only three of them meaning one of them wouldn't have had a partner unless they were else where. Sitting up Kera smiled. "YO" Kera said looking at the group. "Did you guys see that, that was awesome I wanna do it again." Kera said clearly the best first impression she could give right.

@Sensei Fox @SwiftThunder @pridedzoey

Saffron eyed the lady who just landed....she seemed really hyped about this situation...although she could have stuck the landing a bit better. Then the thought clicked in her head....this girl would be her partner since the other guys were already met by the time Saffron arrived. " you could have done better with the landing...but I'll give it an 8 out of 10....it was a pretty cool entrance"

Based off of first impressions alone, this girl didn't seem all that bad. Saffron extended a hand to her " though.... I guess the trees weren't a huge fan of it... Buuuut...whatever" she said with a small chuckle. She briefly wondered, about the future... How well would this girl.. Along with the others guys function as a team, saffron quickly moved those thoughts away as to focus on the present.

Lazuli

Well, this was awkward . . . Lazuli wasn't sure how it happened exactly but it seemed she had lost her partner . . . Oops . . .

It wasn't her fault though. She had told him to run when that Ursa came at them. If he got eaten or something, it was clearly his fault and not hers. Still, this was going to be a problem . . . She still needed to find a partner and who knows how far it was until she found the artifacts.

"Hello?" She shouted as she made her way to where she thought the artifacts were. "Anyone there? I'm bored." No answer.

As she neared the ruins, something in the back of her head was bothering her. Something felt wrong, worryingly so. Racking her brain for what this odd feeling must've been, her head jerk ed up as she realized it. She . . . Forgot to tell the servants to tape her Holomon episodes while she was gone! No!!! She was going to be so behind in the show. Wait. No. This was still salvageable. The new episode wasn't until tomight. She could call her brother and have him do it. Just had to finish this initiation first since her scroll was left with her things.

Lazuli sped off to find either a partner or the ruins, newly motivated to get this done now rather than later.

(I left this open for now because I didn't know if Kepple had poofed at thus point since I can't exactly bump into Mary if he's still there.)

Argus once again relaxed from the defensive posture he had assumed when he heard the crashing of trees, only to see a wild blond haired girl come flying out of the trees who looked to have a bit of a wild smile on her.

"YO" Kera said looking at the group. "Did you guys see that, that was awesome I wanna do it again."

Argus was slightly perturbed as he would never consider tumbling end over end only to crash through a large sections of trees, and it looked she she had been at before she even got to them, so he couldn't possibly guess what she was doing. Argus cleared his throat slightly "Um, right, awesome is definitely one way to describe it. Still, good to see you unhurt." He glanced over to Hei and saw Saffron extend her greetings and decided he might as well try to start off on the right foot as well, since he had a strange inkling that he would be seeing more of the girls in a team very soon.

"I'm Argus Volund of the frontier, that's Hēi Murakami." Argus inclined himself slightly and motioned to Hēi "I and he have already partnered up... so if you haven't found anyone else... then it looks like you and Saffron will be teaming up. From the looks of it, quite the formidable pairing." Argus picked up Silfr Geisa up and placed onto his shoulders and rested his arms on the weapon, trying to gauge this new addition, and appearing to be pondering something. @Bills352 @Sensei Fox

? Summary: What did Airiana see? Could it be... ?

She was waiting for them to rescue her from Grizz but the two somehow were oblivious to her silent cries for help that were reflected in her eyes. Even her face expressed her discomfort from being near Grizz as Jack and the other guy started to be more focus on finding the relics than on her who struggled to get out of Grizz's grip,"
P-please let me go Grizz." She plead as Grizz soon released her at Jack's statement. Holding her arm close to her chest, she backed away from him seeing he was checking her small form before bringing back up the topic of how easy it would be to throw her up to get a sight on everything,"N-no! It's fine, I rather climb then see my life flash past before me." She stated and squealed when he poked her again to make her run away towards Jack's side where she felt much safer than being near Grizz and his companion.

Turning towards Grizz when he asked about their weapons, she hesitated before speaking up,"My weapons are known as 'Star Blossoms', a pair of yo-yos that can turninto shurikens coated with dust and shoot out needles." She answered before giggling at how Grizz cursed the hill for making him struggle with Jack coming up with assistance while she tailed along behind them though she kept a safe distance from the three guys in front of her. Honestly, how did she get herself stuff with them as she took it upon herself to go on ahead of them towards the top. Dashing past them, she soon reached the top where she scanned the area for anything that may look to be a place where a relic could hide,"Uhh... Hey guys! I think I can see something over there!"

Hēi had been lost in a slight trance as Kera made her smashing entrance. Something was different from the previous moment. The forest felt as if it had changed in some way. The Grimm were obviously a concern and the other students were no doubt somewhere in the forest as well, but there was some other element present now. Perhaps it had been there all along, just hidden or far away. It was a feeling of being closed in and watched by several malicious eyes. There was also a slight feeling of Dust saturation in the air. It was similar to the old workshop Hēi lived out of when he was experimenting with slow burning dust. There was a certain feeling that came from the dust in the air interacting with his aura that made it distinct. However, that memory came from an enclosed space, not an open forest. The suspicion of that fact was too much not to act on. Hēi threw a green card into the surrounding brush and braced against the ensuing storm of wind. The winds stripped leaves from the immediate area quickly and then faded away leaving substantially less standing foliage as well as the outline of several unnatural figures.

The identical figures crouched staring at the team with shaded eyes. They would appear to be human if not for a slight purple glow to their bodies and clay colored skin. Their hair was also a shade of red. The only contrast was their green trousers that flowed loosely and stopped slightly above the ankles and bare feet. Each one carried either a sword or spear that shared the purple glow of their forms. They slowly rose and raised their weapons to the team without a word or show of emotion.

Meanwhile, in the rest of the forest, the other groups of apparitions began their attacks on other teams as if connected by a single thought. They leaped silently from their concealed positions with weapons forward.

((We'll assume that Shade and Red's character have just poofed already so we can just get this thread going. The enemies don't have any dust abilities, just swords and spears. You can each fight as many as you want within reason reason. When you beat one, they just turn into a purple smoke and dissipate. During your fights, try and come into the field with the relics. Otherwise, have fun.)

Lazuli

Lazuli had been wandering for a while now without meeting a single person. Seriously? What the hell? First she could get people to leave her alone and now no one wanted her? Was there something wrong with her? Did she smell? Was there some weird sign on her back? Was she being bullied because the ugly mean girls were jealous of her beauty? Was she, the beautiful soldier of love an justice, going to suffer all sorts of abuse and loneliness only to gain the love of the handsome and mysterious prince anyway? Just like all those stories?

She remained lost in her daydream until she noticed someone emerging from the bushes around her. What looked like a man popped out, shirtless and with an odd complexion. Was this guy her partner? He didn't exactly look that impressive, but beggars couldn't be choosers could they?

Lazuli raised a hand to greet him when another, identical man came out as well. Oh . . . This was awkward. He already had a partner.

"Oh . . . Well, I'll leave you two to your business then," she said, turning her back to the fellows before stopping briefly. "This is the way to the ruins, right?" She asked, pointing in the direction she had been going.

But she didn't get an answer, or rather not a traditional one. Rather than words, Lazuli was met by a sword heading toward her, barely grazing her cheek as she swerved to dodge it. She jumped back, her hand reaching her cheek to see that the guy had managed to draw a bit of blood. "You . . . You . . . How cold you . . . " Her fists began to glow a dark violet color and as she threw a punch, despite being quite a ways apart from them, a large stone fist appeared and smashed into the guy who had wounded her. "I said I was going to leave already. What was that for? A girl's face is her treasure you know. What are you gonna do if this leaves a scar?! What if I can never get married?!"

Lazuli was surprised to see the guy on the ground now as if dead. "Oh ****. I didn't mean to do that! I'm sorry! ****. Pretty sure killing another student is going to be bad on my permanent record. No. I can't be found out. I need to get rid of the body. Find a beowolf or some other grimm and make it seem they did it. Then I'll have to

move to Vacuo. Change my name and live the rest of my days as a humble potato farmer. Ah, but I'll need money to buy some land, won't I? Maybe I can get someone to adopt me." Still thinking of her escape plan, the partner soon charged at her. Materializing Longinus, she hit the side of his blade, redirecting his attack to the side. "Gah! A witness! Hey . . . You . . . Um . . . I totally found him like this, you know. I think maybe a be wolf did . . . it . . . Ah, that's right. You were here the entire time, weren't you . . . "

Twin number 2 didn't seem so happy, silently charging at her relentlessly. Lazuli continued to hit his strikes aside, trying to think of what to do. This guy seemed pissed. "Look! We can probably save him. If we can get him to a hospital soon eno-what?" Lazuli was now looking at the "man" she had killed. His body . . . It was starting to disipate, much like a gromm's corpse, except purple. "What . . . What's going on? Is this part of the test?" A bit confused, Lazuli held out her Lance and stabbed the other guy, only a bit, enough to bring blood but not to give anything other than a superficial wound. He didn't jump back or flinch or anything a normal person would do though. Instead, he got closer, no signs of any recognition of pain.

"Z-zombies!" Lazuli shrieked, before bolting deeper into the forest. What the hell?! They got zombies! Werent those only in movies?

But wait. Zombies were already dead, right? They were monsters, like grimm. So . . . She didn't need to worry about holding back or hurting them, right? Realizing this, a smile resurfaced and as she made it out past the trees and into a clearing of sorts, she skidded to a stop.

The silent pursuer, as expected, was following her. And Lazuli was waiting for him. Her lance was now gone. Instead she faced him barehanded, with her fists now red from flame dust. This guy was going to pay for what his partner did to her. She doubted she could trust anyone after this . . . This incredible trauma. This was revenge for girls everywhere!

As he got closer, Lazuli ducked beneath his initial strike and landed a blow square in his abdomen, an explosion ocurred, sending him flying several feet into the middle of the clearing. Then came another strike. And another. And another. A rapid succession of blows and small scale explosions until whatever she was fighting was now a cloud of purple smoke. And Lazuli arose with an incredibly refreshing smile, one that probably shouldnt have been on the face of someone who looked like they just killed someone. Even the cut was now gone, healed by her aura.

She looked around, noticing some stone structures in the close distance. The presence of several small relic-looking things seemed to label itself as the ruins she had been looking for. Even the scorched ground and missing relics must've meant that some students had been here before right? Must've encountered some grimm here. But what to do now? Does she wait for her partner or just go ahead and pick a relic already?

Argus could not tell what had possessed Hēi to test the forest with an explosion like he did, but he was highly thankful as he was now highly on guard against these strange people that had seemingly came out of nowhere.

'I didn't sense anything, no movement or sound; were they here the entire time?' A hundred thoughts like this raced through his head as he squared up against the now visibly armed beings, stoic in their nature but all looking ready for some kind of fight. Argus gave out a low grunt, tossing his weapon off his shoulders and level his cannon-head at the new arrivals; none of them seemed to show any kind of fear or hesitation, they all just looked poised to move at any second. He did not like the look of these people, and decided quickly that they weren't truly human, but maybe more caricatures; it didn't matter though Hēi had found them, he might as well be the first to strike.

While he kept his cannon-head level, he addressed Hēi, Saffron, and Kerra.(@Bills352 @pridedzoey ) "We won't be able to stay here long, if we have any hope intend to pass this test. Let's be quick about this." Argus felt like his skin was beginning to boil before the sensation quickly dissipated and he knew his skin was soon becoming over wrought with a dull, soon to be bright, red from his semblance. Argus wasted no more time and quickly began firing his cannon in the hopes of catching some of the beings off guard. After the dust from the impacts cleared however, he saw he had hit none of them, all of his shots having been dodged. He let out a sigh of exasperation, he had hoped these enemies would be of a simple kind, resembling humans and not full out Grimm, it was not to be however..

"Very well then, hard way it is." There was an audible click and Silfr Geisa quickly shifted into its' slim war-hammer form, which caused at least two of the entities to begin running at him, one with a spear and one with a sword. Argus did not hesitate to charge to meet them head on, not the best decision to begin a fight, but he figured he would need to keep himself away from his fellows just in case he collided with someone with his semblance active. The beings gave no thought as they both reared back with their weapons to strike Argus down; Argus managed to see this coming and roll underneath their strikes at full speed, managing to trip them up as well. Argus quickly checked and not only had his two opponents recovered, but they were coming back at him. This time he simply braced with his hammer-head and waited for the time strike first. The one with the spear caught to him first and thrust directly for Argus's chest; the attack was deflected and Argus made a grab the spear shaft. While he was still not at full heat, he semblance was still powerful enough to quickly weaken the spear enough to allow Argus to snap it off, which his opponent did not expect as he allowed a moment's hesitation for Argus to slam a upswing to its' chin to stun it, quickly followed by a stab by the spear through its' chest to finish it off.

There was explosion of purple smoke and it was Argus' chance to be surprised as he did not honestly expect his opponent to just vanish. He managed to recover just in time to barely glance an attack from his other opponent that wielded a sword that was attacking him with more ferocity than he expected, and now Argus was on the defensive. They both exchanged blow for blow, but Argus could not make any grab for the thing's sword hand, as it did well to maneuver out of his reach while keeping up his strikes to give Argus something else to think about. Also worrying was another form similar to the one attacking him currently, sword and all, and Argus knew his position would only get worse for the second.

Argus let out a yell across the field. "We'll be needing to move soon!" The second being joined the fight, and it was all Argus could do by keeping up. Their attacks were coordinated and precise, a far departure from the Grimm he usually dealt with. But it was a moot point as Argus continued giving ground under the dual assault, hoping to figure out a new strategy soon.
