Name:

Crescentia - full name unknown.

Nicknames/Aliases:

Prefers the nickname Cress.

Age:

Fifteen.

Date of Birth:

April 13th.

Zodiac:

Aries.

Gender:

Female.

Traits:

Cress is the exact opposite of what anyone wanted her to be, and she prides herself on the fact. With a short temper and a sharp tongue, she always has a few snappy insults tucked up her sleeve and is very sassy, not to mention extremely independent and defiant. Tell her to do something, and her first reaction will be to do the polar opposite. She lacks any form of tact and is bitter as a sort of self-defense mechanism, very headstrong and stubborn. Though not exceptionally bright, she's far from dumb and is quick-witted and resourceful, coming with unlikely solutions to every problem she's presented with, solutions that often depend on athleticism and luck rather than logic and strategy. Though gruff, she's also roguishly charming, what with her cheeky and tough demeanor. Stealthy and manipulative when she wants to be, she's got magnificent skill when it comes to weaving together half-truths and falsehoods to create a believable story. Though she could definitely be described as ruthless, willing to do whatever is necessary to get what she wants or protect someone she loves, perfectly willing to kill if she thinks she needs to, she's also loyal to a fault and, to some degree, noble. She'd throw herself in front of a bullet before she let someone she cared for, which there are admittedly very few of, be hurt, but would also sacrifice the lives of however many people are necessary to keep those beloved few safe. In short, imagine a tiny, underfed, terrified bunny sitting in a ring of thorns -- that bunny is Cress. Beneath the flippant and defensive exterior, she suffers from chronic insecurity and depression, living every day in fear and blaming herself for every bit of misfortune that has befallen her loved ones.

Appearance:

Cress is not absolutely gorgeous by many standards, but is attractive in her own right, though she'd probably be more so with a few steady meals. A little too thin and a little too mean, her pretty face is often pulled into a scowl, a frown on her lips and her brows furrowed. She has an oval shaped face with peachy skin and faded freckles scattered across her cheeks. She has a simple straight nose and pink lips, though her eyes are, in her opinion, her best feature. Large and expressive, they're a lovely shade of emerald green in color, framed by long eyelashes. She has straight auburn hair that reaches her shoulders, often tied back into a ponytail for the sake of convenience. A notable scar runs through her eyebrow, joined on her body by the ones scattered across her arms, stomach, back and legs. It can be noted that, more often than not, she is covered in bruises, scrapes and, as a result, a multitude of band aids. One of the most notable markings, however, is the deep cut on her right wrist, just beneath the bar code tattooed on her skin, the phrase
S09: Crescentia stamped between the bar code and the scar. Her clothes are never name brand, and her style consists mostly of graphic t-shirts, shorts or jeans, overalls, and either combat boots or converse.

Sexuality:

Biromantic and demisexual, but not entirely aware of this yet.

Biography:

The life Cress has led is an exceptionally tragic one. Orphaned at a young age, she was taken in by a man with less than moral intentions. Named Christopher Callaghan, he was part of a group of scientists running illegal experiments to see if they could alter the natural abilities of humans and create what were essentially super-humans. They had more than one base scattered throughout the United States, though Cress was raised in the one stationed in South Carolina. There were fifteen children total in the facility, ten scientists, and thirty people who worked as security personnel. The conditions were not deplorable, but they weren't favorable either, the facility consisting of two dining rooms, a kitchen, four bathrooms, twelve bedrooms, twenty testing chambers, and four major laboratories. However, out of the forty-three rooms in the facility, the subjects only had access to one of the dining rooms, two of the bathrooms (one for the male subjects and one for the female), two of the bedrooms (again split by gender, set up with simple brass bunk beds), and the testing chambers and laboratories when they were being experimented on, which led to subjects associating the test chambers and laboratories with pain and thus not liking to have to visit them. They also had a single hour outside everyday in an area of the yard enclosed by electric fencing that created a dome around the area. Although the conditions were tolerable, the treatment from the scientists were not. The subjects were beaten when they misbehaved, subjected to brutal and painful experiments, and were sometimes starved and locked away in private chambers as punishment for severe misdemeanors. Three of the fifteen subjects were driven insane by the treatment, and were locked in their testing chambers permanently. Each child was given a unique ability, and Cress's is that she possesses super strength.

It's understandable that growing up in such a horrible environment deeply and negatively effected Cress, leaving her with trust issues and deep insecurities. She has trouble forming bonds and is extremely paranoid, constantly expecting to be harmed by anyone larger than her and therefore flinching away from any form of physical contact from anyone she doesn't know well. She didn't make many friends in the facility, considering her hotheaded nature got her in trouble frequently and no one wanted to receive punishment due to being associated with her and the problems she caused. However, she was able to make on extremely strong friendship with a girl about her age named
Priska. They met at approximately seven years old, when Cress came back from an especially harsh punishment with many bruises, as well as cuts on her cheek and knee. Priska, who was gifted with psychic healing, tentatively approached Cress, who was crying tears of anger and pain, requesting that the girl let her heal her wounds. Though reluctant to trust anyone, the injuries hurt, so Cress reluctantly agreed. Priska had knelt beside her, pressing her hands to the wounds and healing them with a faint glow and a gentle warmth. They chatted while the injuries healed, and though it was awkward at first, they were the only potential friends each other had, and mutual loneliness drew them together. Despite being polar opposites, they grew close and formed an unbreakable bond. As they grew older, their friendship began to transform into something more, touches beginning to linger and cheeks growing red whenever their gazes met. They managed to escape for a total of three days when they were fourteen, but giddy with their freedom, instead of going to the police, as they should have, they spent the three days at a visiting carnival, sneaking onto rides and stealing cotton candy. It was there that they shared their first kiss. Unfortunately, the best day of their lives had hardly finished when they were captured again and returned to the facility.

Furious that the two of them had worked together to escape, the scientists decided the best thing they could do to prevent such a thing from happening again was separate them. They sent Priska out to a facility in Arizona, leaving Cress reeling from the loss of her only friend in the whole place. It took a whole year for her to manage to escape again, taking nothing but the bare minimum of rations and a map to the other facility from a small town in Arizona. Once again, instead of going to the police, Cress set out on her own, convinced that if she went to the police and exposed the whole thing, her and Priska would be separated once again. Though she knew it was awful, she didn't care enough about the others back at her facility to risk having Priska taken away from her to save them all. For the past month or so, she's been traveling on her own, determined to walk all the way to Arizona and save Priska.
