Realistic or Modern Romance in the Dorms

"Uh... I think Lucy is at home but I've not seen her since last night, so she could be anywhere now." He says, scratching his arm and looking at up at Doyle slightly. Why was everyone taller than him? He'd really missed out on the height gene there. "Sure, I'm starving actually, but don't expect me to be able to help you with getting food ready, I'm useless with that." He says as he shrugs his shoulders.

"Oh, you should call her to tag alone if you want too (<<Damn it! Typo! "you"). I'm making enough food for an entire army." Doyle joked with a bright smile. "And don't worry about not helping. I prefer to cook alone, that way I know how everything is at what stage, if you get me. Like, if you want something done, better do it yourself type of thing?" he tried explaining, but quickly quit doing so. "Come on, I have no idea how to drive a car, so we are walking! To the beach my fellow companion!" he yelled, pointing his index finger in the sky, miming some sort of a character from a cartoon series.

Spencer checks his pockets for his phone and sighs, he had left his phone in his room again, so he wouldn't be able to leave a message with Lucy. "Yeah, I understand what you mean. Like a science project, if I worked with someone else, I'd get more stressed than working alone, I'd need to know on my own the specific parts to change and... Yeah. Sorry yeah I get what you mean." He laughs a little and begins to walk in the direction of the beach, he could remember the way seen as he had been in the front seat of the car yesterday. He laughs a little at Doyle, he was a funny guy.

"So, Doctor Who." he said, turning to face Spencer, while walking with his back turned towards the beach. "What do you study? Looking at you, you must be doing the heavy stuff, right?". Doyle smiled at him, then, stopped, waiting for Spencer to get closer, then to walk alongside with him. "It's a really weird place, this institute, right? Gives you a funny vibe, but in the good way."

Melody

Mel swam about for quite some time until she felt refreshed and purified of any negativity. She girl wadded out of the ocean and onto the shore only to see Bobby a few feet away. She decided to just simply ignore him so that her positive start of the day could stick withe her. She grabbed up her clothes and her bag and walked further down the shore to see if she could make her way to a more secluded area where she could sing alone and far away from Bobby.

Spencer rolls his eyes jokingly at the nickname while he looks at Doyle walking backwards towards the beach, yeah, we was crazy as well as funny. And well coordinated. Who knew what Spencer would have walked into by this point if he was walking backwards. As they walk in step now he smiles, "I study advanced maths, advanced science and uh, criminology." He says and scratches the back of his neck, "The institute... It, yeah, it gives me a funny vibe. That's probably because of the whole... Making friends thing though. It's weird." He laughs a little. "But what about you? What do you study?"

"Er, Hey! Melody!" He got up and jogged after her, "Hey. I just.. Uh..." He sighed and frowned a little, "I wanted to apologize for being such a huge ****sucker last night. I dont drink normally and thats why, I become like that and I generally wake up in the morning with less friends than I started off with. Im gonna try and find everyone and apologize... Just what is.. the guy that you guys were hanging out with? I dont remember his name at all. And Im serious, Im really sorry..." He scratched his head. His cheek, where she had hit him was a darker red and swollen a little.

Melody

Melody rolled her eyes,

"Do you honestly think I'd forgive you let alone help you after everything that occured last night? Im sorry to say but I don't believe a word you say. If what you said was true then last night when you drank my B-52 then you would've had a massive hangover right now or you would've been coughing up blood last night immediately after drinking it. And if you honestly wanted to apologize to someone then you'd remember not only their face but they're name. Sorry but I will not help you."

She was going to blow him off completely and not tell him but something told her she should,

"Oh and steroids I originally thought you'd be the guy my bestie would end up with but once I saw you drunk I witnessed your true colors. My mother once taught me, to see the truth behind ones mask one must seek beneath the others disguise in liquor. And who or what I saw was a utter disgrace by whom I refuse to leave my best friend in the care of."

With that said she continued to walk further down the shore.

Bobby kept following after Melody, still talking and risking another sore jaw. "Yeah, the front I put up is my cocky confidence. The real me? Ive only got Mark. I drink to forget about my awful days of dealing with people who only know me because Im big and I run fast. Im not a smart guy, Im only at this school, again, because Im big, and I run fast not because Ive got a good head on me. Now, I know thats no excuse to act the way I did last night, or to get as drunk as I did, but I want to make amends, and it starts with you because you're the definitely the most hard headed, and you've got the biggest heart to protect your friends. Anyone else I try to go to, they'll probably just say 'Oh its no problem Bobby, its fine' but then they'll resent me. You? You'll straight up tell me Im an asshole. But I want to be your friend, and Lucys friend and..." He paused, "Spencer? Is it Spencer? Look I only met him after I was far too gone last night. But Im serious, I wont drink around yall anymore, if thats what it takes."

Two showers and a tooth brushing later Tanner was in his car and on his way to the beach. He'd decided to give Mel back her phone and get some deets on what happened last night. So liquor wasn't his thing, and he'd needed a day of recuperation. Today, the world would see a new and terrifyingly different side of Tanner. His battered copy of a Crossfade album did him justice until he arrived at his destination. He stepped out of the car, wearing only shorts and sneakers. He jogged along the beach-line until he saw his target of the day--accompanied by Lucy's prince. Sullenly, he made his way in their direction.

"Oh...are you aiming to be the greatest murder solver in the world? You want to like those guys from cop shows, who solve crimes and put the bad guys in jail?" Doyle asked Spencer once he heard his answer to his question. Then, he remain mute once he asked him about what he studies. Stopping from his tracks, he looked at Spencer with a blank face. 'Therefore I'm gonna follow my mothers teachings the same way I follow my dreams!'. Mel's voice popped into Doyle's mind while standing completely still. "Dreams." he whispered to himself, a smile slowly appearing on his face.

"I don't...study anything." he said. "Not sure if you would understand, but I don't study anything. I'm here to...to live. To find my path in my life. My road. All I need to do is build my...my...car, or whatever you want to put to make it sound cool, I, I, I got everything I need to begin. I got the tools, I got the materials, I got the time but, but...what I need...is not the knowledge on how to build it...but...but, the people to build with...you know? If you look around the world to be happy, you will never find happiness! You know why, Doctor?Because your happiness comes from others. The same thing with the car! I don't need to look how to build my car, all I need is the people to build the car with...people like you." he explained. From a distance he saw Mel waving at them which made Doyle smiled. "I need...people like her...in my life. No...I would like her...not people like her. There is no such thing as two same people...everyone...is himself, or, or, herself...". He looked at Spencer. "Be yourself. Don't let anyone tell you how to live your life, don't look for stuff to make your life easier, otherwise...how would you find this, this, this chat...how would have you found...Lucy."

Lucy yawned softly as she slowly got out of bed and rubbed her head slightly, ruffling up her hair as she crawled out of bed to go take a shower and get ready for the day.

After her shower, she threw on some jeans and a pretty purple camisole with converses and picked up her bag as she made her way to the art room with her art stuff.

"Something like that." Spencer laughs a little at the short questions he had said before his speech, and then listens intently to him while he speaks about dreams, his road, happiness, and all that other stuff. He breathes out a large breath and grins when Doyle had finished. "Seriously Doyle, what do you expect me to say to that other than..." He thinks for a moment, "Wow? I don't know. You're... Like... Wow. What's the word?" He asks himself, "wise! Wise, you're wise!" He says and grins at him. He looks over at Melody on the beach, seeing Bobby talking to her. "You should go talk to Melody." He says, raising his eyebrows and smiling. He could tell that D liked her.

Melody

Hard headed? Had the girls ears fooled her or is this guy just plain stupid. The girl felt her blood broil as she repeated the words again,

"
Hard-headed?"

She hissed before turning to face him,

"You know what?"

She laughed as a murderous look appeared in her eyes,

"I think you have a death sentence underway. Apologize to me all you want but I refuse to listen because I know my mothers teachings are all true. Following her lessons all these years is exactly what helped me survive asshole. And even if you think you can persuade me to stop disliking you go ahead but next time you may just end up with your fucking legs wrapped around your head."

The girl stated before turning to see Tanner,

"Hey Tanner! Do me a favor and call 911 if this guy over here continues to follow me around."

She stated sternly before pointing her finger at Rob,

"And you. Last night you called me crazy, maybe I am since I'm even standing here talking to you but one thing for sure your a physcopath."

With that said she continued walking away angrily. There goes her positive energy.

Tanner blocked Melody's path with one of his broad arms. "Holy crap, quit acting like infants..." he moaned while fishing through his pocket.. He muttered something along the lines of "too bright" and "not getting laid last night". When he returned to the conversation, he gave the two a glare of utter seriousness before placing a pair of aquamarine aviators on his face. "NOW....before you two go at it again...explain just what the hell happened last night? Why are you two together when the plan was to set the bozo up with our darling, Lucy? And, why did I wake up in a dumpster?" he asked, the last bit picked up high in exasperation.

"I cant answer the dumpster question, but I can say that I got way to drunk last night and acted like a total jerkface. Im trying to apologize, but Melody is making it very clear that Im just getting close to another swollen cheek." Bobby just shook his head, "I'll just... leave yall alone, I know where Im not wanted, and I messed up with everyone last night Man, the only reason you're not trying to punch me is because you weren't here."

"I'm not wise...just an idiot with a happy life." he said, then had a short chuckle. "I should...but...what should I say?". He remained silent for a while, before letting out a small and short laugh. "You know what, fuck it. I'm going." Doyle said, while beginning to jog towards Mel, Tanner and Robert. "Uh...just in case. You think your stomach can handle a little bit more?" he asked Spencer. Without waiting any answer from him, he kept jogging until he reached the three of them.

"And here I am, thinking that sleeping on the beach was not a cool thing." he commented on Tanner's waking up in a dumpster. Turning to Robert, he titled his head. "I was there and have no urge to turn your face into a very problematic thing to fix." he joked around. "Uh...ocean Mel...could I...can we talk...? Like...somewhere else?" he asked Mel calmly.

Spencer walks down to the group and waves awkwardly at Tanner, grinning slightly, he was enjoying having friends, even if they were probably only just being polite to him. He avoids eye contact with Robert, scared that, even though he was drunk at the time, he still might dislike him. He was friends with the 'love of his life' after all. He could be jealous or something?

Melody looked at Tanner with her murderous glare still present,

"I said I will fill you in later Tanner, and thank god mr.Steroids actually has some type of a brain."

She stated last part of her sentence in a sarcastic tone. When she was about to push past Tanner and go off somewhere she heard Doyle's voice and replied,

"Sure..."

She stated sounding a bit relieved. Now at least no one would have any problems with letting her be.

Bobby looked at Spencer walking up, "Hey man.. Uh, I just.. I wanted to apologize for being a total jerk last night... I uh.. drank way to much and treated you and everyone else real shitty." Bobby held out his hand, "No hard feelings, if you like Lucy, by all means man, go for it, I clearly messed that one up last night, from the few spots I remember."

Erik was lying on his bed with his headphones over his ears. He trying to drown out the noise of the mass amounts of voices making there way down the halls. Everyone was going to the beach apparently. At least that is what he thought he heard. Erik shrugged at the idea of going. The beach wasn't really his scene- mainly due to the large crowds of people.

Erik sighed and move his arms behind his head. He stared at the poster of his favorite band, Tenth Avenue North, that hung from his ceiling. The words to one of their songs, "Worn" was playing in his ears. Erik closed his eyes and whispered to himself, "Who needs people anyway."

Erik didn't do the whole social thing, in fact, he had yet to make a friend since he transferred into his new school. Most of the people that did actually acknowledge him called him the "Mute Kid" because of how quiet he was. He usually shrugged it off, but it was pretty much true- he didn't talk to anyone; he just couldn't bring himself to do it. It didn't bother him too much though because he knew that he had a friend in Christ and that was enough for him. He still wished sometimes he could make at least one friend, maybe someone he could jam with or something.

Erik rolled to his side debating whether to go out tonight. But he knew it would be like that other times he tried to socialize; he'd just walk around by himself for an hour and head home with no success. Erik sighed again and relaxed in his bed. As he contemplated this thought, the song changed into "All The Same".

"A thousand voices, A thousand lives,

A thousand prayers rise in the night

What is it we seek?

So many stories, Lord, I hear,

And all these questions in my ear

Can we come out clean?

Different faces,
Different fears

Different failures lead us here

Show us how

We're all the same, Desperate for a change,

W
e're all the same, We need your love,

We need your love."

Spencer looks at the hand being extended towards him and then at Bobby's face, listening to his apology. He always trusted people too easily, always gave people too many chances. He bites his lip as he shakes his hand quickly and then puts his hand back in his pocket, his other hand still holding his notebook. It was full of all his ramblings and notes. "It's uh, it's fine. Don't worry about it." He says, then hears what he says about Lucy. "Uh... Lucy is just a friend and... If you really like her, you know considering you're apparently soul mates, you ought to talk to her." He bites his lip and removes his hand from his pocket to push some stray hairs out of his eyes.

Grabbing her hand gently and without thinking, he slowly dragged her away from the group and what seemed to be a hot spot. Feeling her hand in his made Doyle feel a little bit happy. "Feels just a little bit weird holding your hand. It's quite nice actually." he told her. Once he took her out of the red zone, which seemed to be in front of a bar, an empty bar, he turned to her and smiled, a light blush appearing on his face. "So...uh...did you had a peaceful night...after you left, I mean." he said, while holding his backpack. Why I'm nervous, he asked himself, while holding his backpack.

"Last night, I wanted to show everyone...but more you, my skills with the guitar. I'm not good, but not bad either! So, don't think I'm some pro in playing the guitar." he laughed a little bit. "But, since that passed, I wanted to show you....no." he closed his mouth, remaining silent for a moment, while looking down on the floor. When he raised his eyes and put them on Mel, he smiled. "Want me to teach you how to cook...or...how about helping me out with making breakfast for everybody? What do you say?".

Bobby laughed, "Man, we're not soul mates, I just put on a cocky front when it comes to talking to chicks. I barely know her. She's cute and I'd like to get to know her, but I think any interest she had in me went away the second I fell, drunkingly, out of her car and kissed the cement." He shrugged, "Look man, you two hit it off last night. I'll talk to her, to see if she'll even forgive me, but if she expresses any interest in you, I want you to know I'll back off completely, alright? Im serious."

"Uh... Uh okay." He says and he looks around nervously. He didn't like how Bobby had called girls 'chicks' but he didn't want to say anything about it and anger Bobby at all. "I don't... Never mind." He says and he gets a pen out of his back pocket, clicking it nervously.
