Actually, I did roll for the hidden targets. They were just too far away to respond without having someone play spotter for them. I've been tracking them in the background for the past several actions, but yes, you are correct in saying that if I were to dump a fresh bunch of targets on you after everyone has used up their actions earlier in the round would be very unfair to everyone involved.

I have/had more to say but I don't think I can put it in writing right now. Just know that I'm grateful, Your Psychieness!

Puss In Boots Hello GIF

The Pods leap off to the side, but the flames of the plasma shell catches them in its blast. It is good for the Zentraedi that the rain is so heavy, it will keep them from being burned up too badly by the lingering fire sticking to their hulls.
O.K., I'm having an "off day" here so I think I'm confused easily today (I'm also hyperfocusing on everything - sorry!). But the headache is almost gone! =)

This is a relatively minor detail, but it's one that as a GM of my own Robotech game, I'm going with the science as I see it and not allowing this. I don't mean to pester anybody; I'm just trying to satisfy a brain that just won't chill out today. =)

Plasma is Mega-damage fire/ionized matter - hot enough to burn through cars, buses, buildings, reinforced structures, and mecha. Now... napalm and white phosphorus melt flesh, bone, trees, etc. but neither can harm a tank and are therefore S.D.C. (at least in my mind). Rain doesn't put out napalm unless it's under a waterfall (partly because jellified gas sticks; water boils at 100 degrees F and napalm burns at something like 1,000 degrees F). White phosphorus burns and burns unless completely submerged into water (and then it burns again if you take it out and reunite it with air). I get that part of this is chemical-compound related, but these are S.D.C. flammables. Plasma is Mega-damage. Doesn't plasma burn at, like, 4 or 5 times that of napalm?

In my games, even a monsoon is not going to put out M.D. Plasma-based fires. So if you see me say otherwise, please feel free to refer me to this post. =)

This is Psychie's game and it's, again, a minor detail. Plasma rounds do their burning damage across minutes, not Rounds. In the end, it's nothing. But in my games, sometimes life or death situations hinge on such details, so I'm going with Plasma not being affected by water. Then again, if someone has science to show otherwise, I'd love to be corrected! Please do! Sorry for these ADHD-fueled scatterbrain thoughts of mine; I don't think I can help them. At least, not today. =)

As always, I just really want to be accurate (as opposed to "right" if you get my meaning)! =)

Nova lines up a shot of an MPAT shell on the last three visible pods, then shifts her tank into Battloid mode and breaks into a run forward towards the damaged Officer's Pod with an angry growl to try and secure the pilot and keep him or her from getting away.

Initiative order
23 - Steven [5]
21 - Officer Pod [4] seriously damaged/leg blown off
18 - Nova [3]
17 - Miya [3] <====
13 - Chris [3]
6 - Doug [2]
Psychie Psychie Does this mean that Nova wasted all three remaining Battle Pods with her round? I don't see them on the Initiative order.

First, I am not ever going to claim to be an expert on the mechanics of even modern warfare, let alone the hyperadvanced stuff of Robotech/Rifts level games. What I was saying more is that the dice were not too high in their damage roll, and I just put it to the rainstorm keeping the fires from spreading and causing a major wildfire out there.

Next, yes, Nova finished off the last three pods that you can see. I should have been clearer in what happened. Sorry, that was all my fault.

Oh! Is that what you were saying? I missed it and it's been a I'm-missing-it-kind-of-day-today!

As for Nova, no worries! You know one of my many mottos, "Everyone goofs; it's all in how you handle it from there."

And for the record, please continue to raise questions like this! It helps me to learn to be a better storyteller.
Oh! You don't mind?

Thanks, Psychie. =) You know me; I'm not out to bash anybody or try and make myself look good at someone else's expense or nothing like that. =)

I really appreciate you being open-minded and even more, you know where I'm coming from. Communication for people like me is hit-or-miss - some days I get special people who ask me if I am a professional writer (huh! Wonder who I could be referring to there? Hee hee.). Other days, I feel lucky to complete whole sentences to my satisfaction.

And I remain open too! Please "fix me" when you catch me doing something that's not quite right. You've seen how I handle it. =) Yeah. And now I'm just rambling. Time for something to eat! Heh! =) I'll post as Kitty later tonight sometime. =)

Oh, hold on. I can put out a quick post so I don't hold the game up.

Nova aims her gun pod at the Zentraedi officer in front of her and kicks on her external speakers. In Zentraedi, she says, "There is no reason to die here today. Drop your sidearm and surrender. You will be treated well."
Psychie Psychie I would like to know the reaction of the enemy Meltrandi to Nova's command prior to my character taking action if that's O.K.?

When Barnes approaches the Meltrandi and grabs her wrist, she yanks her hand back, saying in passable English, "Don't touch me, human, even with your little mecha! I am no fool; I can see that there is no way out for me."

Nova says over the squad radio, "Prisoner in custody, sergeant. We're pulling back now. We'll need to call in a large transport for this one; she's obviously too large for a micronian helo or shuttle."
Sorry I'm falling behind again, friends. Again, I had something I wanted to post but... oh well.

Thankfully, this Real Life scene that is keeping me busy is a phase and one that I'm looking forward to being done with. I can post conversationally (OOC) no problem but sitting down and getting into character takes more (I would be surprised if it wasn't a similar process for each of you). I'll post in-game when I can. But first, Real Life! Wheee.

I'm O.K..; it's Real Life that's moving fast. I want the pace of the game to go at the speed that is comfortable for the group as a whole. I don't mind falling behind here and there, especially if the alternative means I'm slowing everyone else down (and that's a helluva sentence from a hyperactive guy like me. Me? Slowing everyone else down? Wow.).

Sorry if that's a bit of a strange answer, but you know me - I'm only happy when everyone is having fun, not just me.

If you need a time out, just let me know and I'll hold for you. I want to make sure you enjoy yourself in this game, too!

I'll have to get back to you on that. See you, Psychie! =)

Heya, apologise if i had been a bit slow these last few weeks. Hope everyone is doing ok and is enjoying the game. I managed to finally finish one of the books and all.

No worries on my side of the computer screen!

"Books?" Which one?

You mean Shadow Chronicles? Or the Macross or Robotech Masters Sourcebooks maybe?

I'm asking because the first is the "core book" Robotech uses while the second and third covers the "age"of Robotech we are more or less playing in. Actually, playing between if you want to be accurate. =)

Shadow chronicles. The ones i belive we are using. And yes i got the macross one too and a mekton one too.

Cool! Good going, man!

Mekton! Boy, I haven't played that one in years! Good memories!

I don't really have friends that are interested in the mecha genre usually all of them want to do dnd

Well, I think they don't know what they're missing out on! Robotech is a good story with some terrific characters (like Claudia Grant! What a star!). =)
